Take a Peek at the Renderings for Brad Kilgore’s Upcoming Cocktail Bar | Eater Miami

"This November I'll see Brad Kilgore's Asian-inspired, Tokyo-style cocktail lounge debut in the Miami Design District; for the Tokyo-style bar Kilgore has teamed up with bartender Nico de Sototo to create a drink menu that mixes straightforward, “reasonably” priced drinks with an assortment of “luxury cocktails” using ingredients like sakura, Wakoucha black tea and bamboo salt. It's his first new project under his newly launched Kilgore Culinary group after announcing on Instagram that he has taken full ownership of his Wynwood restaurant, Alter. The space will offer indoor and outdoor seating with a large bar area, oversized banquettes, and a custom-made 1,000-butterfly-knife chandelier inside, plus sofas and ottomans outdoors; Funktion One will handle the music and coordinate rotating guest DJs and playlists. Kaido will also feature small plates, crudos, robatayaki and dishes such as uni fondue and a wagyu katsu sandwich to help soak up the cocktails." - Eater Staff

Great coffee, amazing scones and lovely staff. These are by far the best scones I’ve ever had - crunchy on the outisde, soft on the inside and not dry !! We got the Wakocha and lemon-cream cheese one. Also, the coffee to go comes in a carton box, which is super refreshing to see in Japan, where most things still come in Plastic containers.

Great atmosphere of cafe and books, seats are only available if you order something from them. The scone is warm, fluffy and not dry. delicious cream cheese to go along with it would have brought my own flake salt next time. Latte is also great. I gave one star down because of my own personal preference, these books are all in japanese and words mostly, they are specifically more on history of japan’s region and travel. some on liquor, shrines, nature, edo era. If you are looking into design books, they are very limited. Also the attitude from the owner was a little off. A stench of ingenuity in questions asked and facial expression. But if you ignore all this, bring what you like, and you can enjoy second floor with relaxing bird chirps in the background. its also pet friendly!

Lovely food and ambience! Lemon scones were delicious. Lots of old books around :) I think they are mostly Japanese books though. But no issue for me, I just loved the vibes of the place :-)

Very cute designer coffee and book spot. Their coupe bread and scones are amazing, and I'm not a scone fan normally. Amazing food. Amazing coffee. Amazing atmosphere. Lots of seats. Free wifi. Come check it out. You won't regret it.

I came for lunch on a week day and found it to be moderately busy. The bottom floor is open to the outside which is suitable for people with dogs, but pretty hot in the summer. There are also more seats upstairs. The service was nice and quick, and I loved the ambience with the books and decor. The food was nice and I enjoyed my iced mocha. The stand-out was the salad, as the soup had unexpected shellfish and the bun was too chewy for my tastes. I also wished that the chair and table was a better height so I didn't have to hunch over to eat.

Really nice location, they have many books of all levels. It was great sitting down and reading some Japanese children's books. The coffee was well made and I was given milk on request. The hotdog was not a traditional hot dog but the quality of the meat was very good. It has a great atmosphere and is a bit off the main path. I would highly recommend this place.

Wonderful book shop! I loved looking around even though my Japanese isn't good enough to really read anything. I was alone, so I settled for the one English book I found (which did turn out interesting), but a visit would be worth it even just to chat with a friend. They have an awesome drink selection, like the elderflower and chamomile tea soda I had. There's space on the second floor with tables, possibly for book clubs or that kind of thing? And a few small tables and chairs on the first floor right when you walk in.

Yelp
Went to this cafe after visiting Can do dollar store down the street. Super Friendly and spoke English. The lattes were amazing and the inside of this place is super cute. Second floor walls are covered in bookshelves and it has such a cool, peaceful vibe. It's not in a touristy place but definitely worth a visit if you want good service, good coffee and a good book
