While the sushi here is a bit mid, I’m still giving this place five stars because of the excellent value for money and the exceptional customer service from our server, JP. We’ve visited this branch a few times, and this was our second time being taken care of by JP. His service was truly spectacular. He’s the definition of hospitality: attentive, professional, and incredibly warm. It’s rare to come across someone who consistently goes above and beyond to make sure guests feel welcome and well taken care of. As for the food, we definitely prefer the à la carte menu. The options are better and the quality seems noticeably higher compared to the all-you-can-eat menu. The ambiance is great and gives you a fun preview of what a conveyor belt sushi experience is like in Japan.

Google
Great experience here! I originally thought this spot was a conveyor belt sushi where the plates go around and you grab it as it comes but it’s more so where you order it and it comes directly to you via the conveyor belt. It was a really fun experience and the sushi was great. The food came out really quickly. They also had a cute little robot bringing your drinks around. Highly recommend their nigiris (the salmon mayo was the best!!). Staff were super nice and attentive as well. For the weekends, it’s $50pp for ayce. Definitely a fun spot to try out!

Google
3.5 for me. The lunch time pricing is a great deal and if you have small children under 12 they have a really reasonable fixed price for them for both lunch and dinner too. Food indeed was tasty but really was expecting a true conveyor belt rotation of fast prepared items not an order on a iPad and then it comes to you on a conveyor. Decor is very modern and clean and the staff is also really nice. Location is prime and they have an abundant amount of seating as well. Will return again soon!

I really really recommend you to AVOID this place. We came here because the review was good and am so glad we did not do the all you can eat option.. The whole place just screamed scam. The choices were so few with many odd choices comprised of purely cheap materials. (Fake crab meat, avocado hand roll with just avocado and rice???). I feel sorry for you if you chose the all you can eat option instead. We ended up ordering a small number of items so we could get the check, cutting our losses, and leave to dine in another restaurant. Still wasted too much money for the items we did order. Their chicken karaage was the worst, and strangest we've ever had. It was seemingly made with slices of chicken breast????? And costs $7 for two thin slices? And so many reviews raved about it. Unbeliable. Also, $3-4 for a SINGLE piece of sushi... With fish of mediocre quality at best...( Most other places servers 2pc per plate ) The menu is definitely created for cheap all you can eat package, charging premium price. When I tried to leave a review after, I understood why. The option was temporarily turned off because of many suspiciously inflated positive review getting posted. Had to wait few weeks to post this review... I have never experienced this before with a restaurant. The fact I was willing to wait, check in every once in a while to find out if can leave the review yet, shows how bad of an experience I've had here. Please avoid this place at all cost.

Google
I went here 2 times w the same friend and we were very satisfied for the price. We paid 64 dollars each after tip and tax but we had sososo much to eat. My favorite has to be the salmon and eel nigiri. Although the fish to rice ratio is def 1:2. They had a good verity of sushi nigiri, classic and special rolls, hand rolls, noodles, and appetizers. Service was pretty decent, nothing too special but good overall experience. The music was all kpop, but for some reason when we went the 2nd time it was only BlackPink. We were struggling to find an ayce sushi place in Manhattan and this is the one to go to. Thank you, we will be coming back!!

Google
Very disappointing experience. 😕 It felt like 90% of the sushi was just rice — way too much rice — with a tiny, thin slice of fish on top. The fish didn’t taste like good quality, and the rice was overly sweet and kept falling apart when I picked up the sushi. I also ordered a California roll and a hand roll, and both were disappointing as well. For the entire time I was there, no one refilled my water. For this price, you can easily buy rolls separately and enjoy them more, or try one of the better all-you-can-eat spots in NYC

Google
I just wanted to see what the fuss is all about. People have tried it and loved it. Have to see for myself. Went there on the 4th of July for lunch. I was the first one there with my family. We were quickly seated, and like any other conveyor belt sushi places in Japan, you order from a tablet provided. I was very disappointed that Sashimi was not on the menu. Choices were limited. You get the basic fish only like salmon, tuna, squid etc. No Uni,Toro or Ikura, and so on. The ramen was not to my expectation. I would expect better from a restaurant in Manhattan. The other thing I want to point out is no matcha!!!! Anyway, the price was $49.99 per person, which was a bit steep, being the limited choice on the sushi.

Google
Always a little bit of a gamble to try a new sushi restaurant, but this was really good! We took the ‘all you can eat’ menu and got to enjoy everything we wanted to try. Would recommend it if you like sushi as much as we do.

Yelp
I'm pretty sure every single customer shares my disappointment that Kaiten's conveyer belt sushi is not actually a continuous train but instead an Uber - individual dishes coming to specific tables as they are ordered. The vibe of the restaurant suffers as a result. Ninety percent of the time, you're staring down the entire length of three empty lanes wondering if this restaurant serves any food at all. I doubt this will ever change. Each belt is a straight shot concluding in a dead-end. Much like the NYC subway, the infrastructure is not conducive to meaningful upgrades. I don't think it's a coincidence that the windows of the restaurant are essentially boarded up with posters / tv screens. They don't want you to catch a glimpse of their dystopian interior and decide to go somewhere else. That being said, the service was quite good and once they trapped me inside with their initial deception, I felt more or less fine staying for dinner. Their handrolls were surprisingly good. Prices were average. I wish they had more tuna options. What was not good - the tempura that was insanely oily and the spider roll that was just imitation crab meat in disguise.

Yelp
My friend was visiting in town and we stopped at this sushi spot. It was a fun experience and food was decent, but I wouldn't go again. It was more for the experience. Prices are pretty decent but be mindful when ordering how much food you are getting as those plates will add up. They do have an all you can eat option as well that can even out the pricing if you eat enough. Sushi was not bad, smaller side on the rolls, but it was fresh and tastey. Hand rolls were a good portion size definitely should've just ordered those instead of the rolls. Service, well robot arrived quickly with our drinks. Food as well in the belt. The place looked clean and it was mostly rows of tables and aisles. It can get loud in there as people get excited to see the robot and the food arrive.

Yelp
AYCE conveyor belt sushi. There were good things and bad. First, the location is beautiful. Lovely woodwork in the lobby. Booths and counters available. Restaurant was dead. Only about 4 other tables filled. Granted it was early for dinner but it closes at 9pm so have to go early. The host explained the concept. One price for the all you can eat, 4 items ordered at a time but can place as many orders as you want, 90-minute time limit, drinks additional and if food is left at the end, will be charged menu prices for it. Tablet on table to order. Pictures but no descriptions of anything other than a simple name like octopus hand roll or tuna, etc. Robot delivers drinks. That was cute. It sang happy birthday to another table. Tablet pings when food is ready. Belt delivers it directly to the table, stops and waits for you to remove. Fun concept but expected a true conveyor experience with food cycling through. Sushi was fresh and obviously made to order. No wasabi, though. Nori was tough on the hand rolls. We did not like the Godzilla roll which ended up being fried octopus. Too tough but I picked out the avocado and crab pieces, leaving the rest. Also, there was a shrimp roll that had a deep brown sauce that was bitter. We had 2 of the 4 pieces of it. My friend ate the meat and veg from his Tonkatsu but left some of the broth. We were charged an additional $10 on top of the $50 per person because we left a few things we did not like. Had at least tried it all but still got charged additional. It was an experience while on vacation. Probably could have chosen 100 better places in NYC for sushi.

Yelp
Always wanted to try a conveyor belt sushi setup and Kurasushi is all the way in flushing so decided to give this place a try. Upon arrival we got seated pretty quickly, came for AYCE lunch, the price was around 40$ pp after tax and gratuity. Interior looked nice with tables set up parallel to the belt. The food came out in a timely fashion on a one way conveyor belt, sadly it wasn't a rotating style where to take what looks appealing. Non the less what you ordered it will come sliding out on the belt and the drink robot. The food itself was decent but like a 2:1 rice to fish ratio, will fill up real quick with rice. Besides that one flaw, the fish tasted fresh but it being lunch, the menu was limited.
google avatar

Celena C.

Yelp
Came here for AYCE lunch, which was $32.99pp. The lunch AYCE menu felt very limited. I wouldn't come back here for lunch, and probably wouldn't come here for the AYCE dinner because I think the overall quality isn't worth $50pp, but I am curious about how much more extensive the dinner menu is than the lunch menu. The lunch menu included some things like shrimp roll, California roll, eel avocado, rainbow roll, and some hand rolls, but I wish there were more creative "special" rolls. The fish quality was okay, but the rice downgraded everything in my opinion. It was too mushy and just wasn't fresh. I think if the rice was better, it'd consider coming back because the fish quality itself was fine. Some other things I tried were the vegetables potstickers, chicken potstickers, and crab salad. I didn't like the vegetable dumplings -- they seemed to have a Thai flavor and some spice and some corn chunks. The chicken potstickers were fine/average. The crab salad was pretty refreshing (flavor wasn't heavy at all). The electronic menu was easy to navigate, but I wish each menu item had descriptions and/or list of main ingredients.

Yelp
Came here today with two girlfriends for lunch at 12:15, and overall, it was a solid experience with good food, quick service, and some fun surprises. The space is big and clean, and we were instantly amused by the little robot that brought us our Diet Cokes--definitely a fun touch! Kaizen has two separate seating areas, which was a little confusing at first--one for all-you-can-eat conveyor belt sushi & another for à la carte dining. Originally, we thought we wanted all-you-can-eat, but at $50 per person on weekends, we decided to switch to à la carte instead. This led to what we jokingly called the "walk of shame" as we relocated to the other section. Ordering is done exclusively through an iPad, where we could select 4 items at a time & send them straight to the kitchen. No complaints on the food--it all came out fast, and was fresh & tasty. The only thing that could be clearer is the breakdown of what's included in the all-you-can-eat option vs what's à la carte. There weren't any physical menus available until we buzzed the iPad & asked for them, which would have helped us decide sooner. Kaizen Zushi is a fun, modern sushi spot with quick service, tasty food, and some cool tech features. The robot server was a highlight, and the iPad ordering system made things easy, once we figured out the seating situation. Would definitely return, but a bit more clarity upfront would make the experience even smoother!

Yelp
Was really excited to try this place but was a bit disappointed. So I came for a weeknight dinner which has a more extensive menu than lunch because I was craving scallops which were included in dinner but not lunch. However when I arrived I noticed that scallops were crossed out on the menus, and when I went to order not only were there no scallop nigiri, but also no scallop handrolls. And the price remained the same at 50/pp. Alas... The experience is very fun. You order on an iPad and sushi shoots out to you on the conveyer belt. Quality of the fish was fine, salmon was better than the tuna for sure. I liked the torched options a lot! Nigiri and rolls all have lots of rice. Also got some drinks, which were good. Sparkling sake was the standout. Service was also nice and friendly aside from the scallop snafu. For dessert, their iPad wasn't working but the server let us know that you can order green tea mochi, which was a nice end to the meal. I'm glad I tried this spot, but overall it was not worth it. If they bring the scallops back I would reconsider, but otherwise would go elsewhere for AYCE sushi.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this place - maybe it was the novelty of the conveyor belt sushi , or the super friendly attentive service which was more calm and service focused vs rushing to take orders and bringing out food or maybe it was the awesome prices for clean good tasty food I am going again!

Yelp
I think the overall feel is... it's a sushi spot that delivers food on the conveyor belt mechanism BUT not a continuous loop. So it's a sushi restaurant. Kura Inspired. Who knows. I hope it survives... for their regulars. Decor is very plain... boring minimalistic. Service is awkward. 80% self serve. You order the food on the ipad. Since food is being delivered by a sliding machine, not a server... the "gratuity" is challenging. The service provided: seating, water (no refill), clean up. So based on that... would you tip 18%? I find that being generous. Yet, that's the minimum on that touchpad. Food: sub-par sushi... 80% of what we got was very "blah"... like low quality. The selection was not wide. Honestly, any Asian run sushi (not by Japanese chef) is probably just as good if not better. The 2 hand rolls were probably the best option... which are the spicy tuna and the toro one. We got the tempura... and it was awful. Never have I ever gotten "onion" tempura in Japan... so this gives off the IDGAF vibe lol. The Tamago... it was like a frozen plastic... I don't have any creative words to describe it. Another diner literally said "I love it here. It's amazing." Guess for those who haven't experienced the art of real sushi, this might be theirs. Total spent $138 (pricey for mediocre sushi) but had it bookmarked so... checked off the list.

Yelp
This place is awesome. We dropped in on the MLK holiday so the price was higher than a normal day but $49 for 1.5 hours of all you can eat delicious sushi is a great deal. The conveyor belt situation is so much fun. Love how the food arrives correctly, quickly and to your exact location. This automation does not take away from the fact that there are real humans who work in the restaurant to answer questions and ensure you are having a good experience. We ate almost everything we could on the menu and a few things more than twice. There were lots of vegetarian options and many items besides straight up sushi. I particularly love miso and could have chugged bowls of the soup until they kicked me out and would have still felt like I made out like a bandit. The sushi cuts aren't the fattest or the absolute best but I did not expect that. Everything was good and worth the money.

Yelp
Kaiten Zushi is the only conveyor belt sushi restaurant in Manhattan and its a unique dining experience. I really appreciate that they DO NOT have sushi constantly circulating on the conveyor belt (raw fish sitting at room temperature is a food safety issue). You order on the Ipad and the food is made fresh and arrives quickly on the conveyor belt. The staff is attentive and quick to clear your empty plates. The robot that brings out drinks is a fun touch as it reminds me of Tokyo. This place is great for groups and parties and overall it's a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Even though I'm not a big sushi fan, I really liked the potato croquette. It came out hot and crispy, a clear sign that everything is made to order. The space is also large and open, so you're not cramped or sitting too close to others. They currently have a promotion, for a party of four, 3 pays and the fourth eats free. I chose the all-you-can-eat option, which was worth it, but they also offer à la carte if that's your preference. If you're looking for a different dining experience, Kaiten Zushi is definitely worth checking out, right in the heart of Koreatown.

Yelp
I wanted a rotating conveyor belt sushi spot and all I got was a.... Don't be discouraged! Even though Kaiten Zushi isn't the rotating conveyor belt sushi of your dreams doesn't mean you shouldn't check it out. It's the only conveyor belt sushi spot currently in Manhattan - and it's all-you-can-eat too (time limited)! Keep in mind the lunch menu is smaller than the dinner menu, but it's also cheaper. While many conveyor belt sushi restaurants have what seems to be a never ending supply on a rotating conveyor belt that circles the entire restaurant, Kaiten Zushi does it differently. Here, you order most of your wants on an iPad that sits on the table, send it in, and once ready, each food item is sent via conveyor belt directly to your table: from soup and apps to hand rolls and sushi rolls. While sake was delivered by a server, sodas like Diet Coke are delivered by a robot. Keep in mind that all-you-can-eat is time limited and no takeout is allowed. Leftovers are charged at the a la carte price, so only order as much as you can realistically eat. You can always order more! While nothing food-wise was memorable, we didn't have anything that wasn't good. We really liked the hand rolls, the Udon, and kani salad, and of course the nigiri and sushi rolls were great too. You can't go wrong with the edemame or chicken karage, either. Considering that every dish is delivered via conveyor belt directly to your table, it can be a bit on the noisy side - those conveyor belts are not exactly quiet. That said, it's a nice spot to have uninterrupted conversation since a server is rarely needed. Anytime one is necessary, you can always call them over - yep, you guessed it - via the iPad at the table, which even includes once you're ready to pay out.

Yelp
Hubby discovered this amazing place! We used to eat at East Kaiten sushi. They closed permanently a few years ago. This Kaiten Zushi is a big place with big booths. Our first visit was dinner time. Mo was our waitress for the night, but here, waiters and waitresses work quite differently with their customers since they don't take the food to the tables for customers. We saw a robot bringing drinks to the customers too. Soon, I'll be seeing robots dining at one of the tables. Then robots will be feeding customers too ha! On our first visit, we had the ramen, fire roll, eel, salmon toro, avocado salad, shrimp, yellowtail, and more salmon toro and the Philadelphia roll, which was unique because they added cream cheese to the Philly roll. We thought the first visit was quite good. On our second visit, which was lunchtime, we had more salmon toro and my favorite, Anago nigiri, probably one of my best! I recommend Anago Nigiri and Salmon Toro if you're unsure what to order. We also had great hand rolls, spicy tuna, and eel avocado. We tried Ocean Roll on our second visit, and it was pretty good. They have all-you-can-eat sushi, but Anago is not one of them. We'll try all-you-can-eat sushi someday, but we have to do it on a weekday for a reasonable price. All-you-can-eat is $50 on weekends, and on weekdays, it's $30+. To do "all-you-can-eat" from the menu, you must have all parties do the same. Otherwise, get the a la carte. We're delighted at Kaiten Zushi! The place is big and in a great location. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Be sure to check if it's a holiday! However, for ayce sushi ~$30 is a steal! The fish quality was good, but like any ayce place the rice was surely overpowering! Fun times as always here however! Cheers!
google avatar

Phuong D.

Yelp
I came here for ayce dinner and wished that I have chosen the a la carte option instead. First, the sushi was good but I though the rice to fish ratio was higher than I wanted and I wasn't sure if it was because we were AYCE. The menu options are pretty big but I was disappointed that gunkan wasn't part of the options. Food came out quickly. Service was quick and attentive and we were partially served by human and partially by robot. I appreciate the no tip policy as long as their severs are given fair wages.
google avatar

JiHae L.

Yelp
There's no need to make reservations here as we came on a Thursday night and there were plenty of tables for walk-ins. I didn't like the setup of the place. There was no decor and just seats to dine-in and the revolving counter. It was bare minimum. We told them that we're not doing ayce, but instead do a la carte. All we needed to do was order from the tablet which was on the table. The service was alright. The sushi didn't seem that fresh, so I'm glad I didn't do the ayce. Overall portion size was small.

Tasnia S.

Yelp
Zaiten Zushi I really liked! I like how the sushi comes out in a conveyor belt and you're able to try various different dishes costing around $4-$7 each! The sushi also came out very fast, I ordered on the iPad and it came out in a couple of minutes. I was able to also change my order when I told the waiters that I wanted to change it. The customer service was really great! Keep in mind that this is the only conveyor sushi belt in Manhattan. The place was also spacious and huge with a modern ambience to it. I really liked the miso soup, the eel, and tuna roll! The French fries were also really good! The sushi was tasty and very fresh. I liked how you were able to try various different dishes for an affordable price of around $15-$25. I liked how you were able to mix and match. Price: $15-$25 Rating: 8/10
google avatar

Noshin A.

Yelp
Went for dinner AYCE with friends. The sushi was okay, they were very cheap with the dessert and there was only one option. They said we can only have one mochi each. They automatically added 20% charge to our check even though we were not all seated together. Overpriced and bad quality. Would not return!
google avatar

Yelp
We stumbled upon this conveyor belt sushi restaurant in Nomad. The restaurant offers two menus - a la carte or ACYE. Given it was our first time and we weren't too hungry, we opted for the a la carte option. Unlike Kura (a known conveyor belt sushi restaurant), you order from a pad and the dish will appear at your table; but it lacks the fun of checking out all the dishes passing by on the belt. The prices were reasonable, but the sushi rolls weren't neatly presented (see photos). The ambiance was also lacking at the restaurant, given the thin attendances at dinner time and fluorescent lighting.
google avatar

Alvin A.

Yelp
Came here and did the AYCE option. The food here was pretty basic for the $50 price per person. I've been to a similar conveyer belt sushi spot in NJ and Long Island and they both had way more options. Cool concept but probably just a one time try.
google avatar

Flora H.

Yelp
I was excited to bring my mentee here because I wanted her to experience sushi boats. I knew going in that what they have here is not exactly a revolving sushi boat experience but it's the closest thing that I could find in the city. You order via ipad and the sushi is delivered to your table via a conveyer belt, which was not really that exciting, unfortunately. That would have been fine because it was still something different to experience, but the sushi was just not good. Reasonable pricing a la carte but just not very fresh or good. I wanted to like it here!

Yelp
I recently tried this place for their lunchtime AYCE, and have to say that I really enjoyed my experience there. The sushi is fresh and very good and the environment is great. Having lived in Japan for several years (Tokyo, Osaka, and Himeji), I'm very spoiled when it comes to sushi and not into 'Americanized' sushi. But, this place was a nice surprise. I focused exclusively on the sushi that was on offer, with the idea that I'd sample other things another time (like miso soup, karaage, salad, etc.). Standouts were the unagi, salmon, and the hand rolls. They were delicious. Take a look at the pictures, and tell me that they don't look appetizing! As a hardcore sushi fanatic who used to have sushi 3-4 times a week (for a fraction of the price that we pay here in NYC), I'm not going to nitpick over different points. As a passionate traveler, my bottom line recommendation would be, of course, to just go to Japan and sample it for yourself. You won't believe the difference in cut and quality. But in the meantime, this shop is a great alternative. It's really pretty darned good, and the interior design is definitely reminiscent of a typical kaiten zushi place in Japan. No matter what region you're in, from Hokkaido to Oki, they look basically the same. I'll definitely return to this shop and check out the rest of the menu, and if you're in the area why not give it a try? I'm sure you'll enjoy the experience.

Yelp
Got there at 8pm and there was no wait time on a Saturday night. It was $50pp for AYCE (drinks not included) which wasn't a bad deal but not the greatest in terms of AYCE sushi. I thought the dishes will continuously come out on the conveyor belt but had to order on the iPad then it arrived on the conveyor belt. There weren't that many options compared to other AYCE sushi spots in Manhattan. I noticed that they removed items on the menu continuously (assuming they ran out?) but that limited the options from already a small menu. Also, when the waitress was taking away the plates, she purposely left a dish that had one piece of sushi left that also had a used napkin with it (not sure why she didn't take it? did she expect us to eat what was left?). It was fine to try once but probably won't be back.

Yelp
This restaurant is extremely stingy. At a $50 price point per person you'd think sashimi would be on the menu. They will charge you extra if you leave any rice on your plate, they know what they're doing with the ridiculous rice to fish ratio. Not only do they not have sashimi but the $50 flat price does not include drinks! They also claim to be a "revolving sushi bar"but there are no plates moving on the conveyor belt until you order something directly from the tablet provided on the table. Environment is unsettling and servers glare you down to ensure you don't leave any leftovers behind. Not to mention the fact they have a timer going for your table, which is ridiculous considering how slow the service is. Never coming back, if you're checking this place out I suggest looking elsewhere.

Yelp
I got the dinner (better) AYCE and I will recommend this place with certain caveats to it. Outside of the nigiri the sushi is not really great, it suffers from too much rice in general. FYI There are no scallops at all in any of the dishes. The other sides were pretty decent, sausage, karage, takoyaki. I don't recommend any of the ramen at all, they were not tasty and very poor, outside of the char sui. I seem to recall the udon being better though from a previous visit. Overall the AYCE is not bad but it's better to go in if you know there are certain pieces you are going to eat a lot of. Also they take their time putting out orders so make sure to keep submitting.

Yelp
I wish there's Kaizen Zushi Nomad in norcal! The conveyor belt sushi experience is so much fun, and the staff is super friendly and attentive. The sushi is fresh and delicious, and I love the variety of options. The cute robot that delivers drinks is the cherry on top! Highly recommend the the ramen and rolls - they're amazing! The atmosphere is modern and sleek, and the prices are very reasonable. Can't wait to come back in NY and try more of their menu!

Yelp
All you can eat! Our new go to spot! Every bite was as awesome as the next. The conveyor belt function adds to the atmosphere and brings about conversation and anticipation. The staff is friendly and more than accommodating. The highlight is the robot waiters floating about to deliver drinks.

Yelp
The sushi to rice ratio is absurd! even for an ayce spot. Look at the pictures! I saw some bad reviews but the all the 5 star reviews changed my mind. I feel bad for the people working here, it's not their fault. They put 1 thin slice in a hand roll! That's blatant disrespect. The worst ayce sushi spot I've ever been to. Come here if you want to eat a lot of rice

Yelp
Fun concept, huge space, very clean, good for large parties, super nice staff. Items are all ordered on tablet and food comes out on conveyor belt. Only had tuna roll and seaweed salad. Seaweed salad was good. Sushi comes in pieces of 4 and was okay little too much dressing for my taste. Prices are very affordable also because portions are smaller.

Yelp
I'm so happy to have a AYCE conveyor belt sushi option in Midtown! I came with a group of four on a Thursday evening around 6:30 PM. The restaurant was half full so we were seated right away. You get 1.5 hours to eat as much as you can for $50/person for dinner. Everything is self service with the iPad and if you order a drink, a robot comes and brings it out to you. And there are lots of options from rolls to nigiri to handroll to hot and cold appetizers. The food itself comes in a reasonable amount of time. Obviously the quality of the fish and items are not going to be amazing but it was still tasty. The scallop was super good so I would highly recommend ordering it. An item I would recommend staying away from would probably be the Udon which was just not cooked very well. All in all, a nice option for AYCE conveyor belt sushi in Midtown.

Yelp
Pretty strict on the rules set for AYCE. I saw someone recommend the hand rolls on yelp but it came with a full scoop of rice in each roll. They noticed that we were not eating some of the rice and mentioned to us that we would have to pay for the leftover rice and should try to consume the rice. Salmon, eel and tomago nigiri were good. The tuna and red snapper weren't great and somewhat fishy. Miso soup was good and helped with eating the rice. Lunch AYCE has an hour limit and once your time is up, the iPad on the table for ordering turns off and they bring the check right away. Didn't take long for the food to come out on the conveyor belt. After tax and tip it's around 42 per person.

Yelp
The perfect place for a fun, indulgent date night! Do not be confused by the term "conveyer belt sushi." This is NOT the conveyor belt that continues to rotate stale rolls that you pick up and choose. It is instead a made-to-order system in which the conveyor belt promptly delivers your order in a futuristic way to your table. Everything is ordered via tablet, and there are tons of options- including sides like noodles, rice, ramen, and fried appetizers (though I always recommend not filling up on these and saving them for last). Best part is it's AYCE for a fair price (about $50) and even cheaper for lunch. Have been twice and anticipate I'll be back soon!

Yelp
Not your typical conveyer belt sushi - you order on your tablet and have to wait for each order to be prepared. You can order 4 plates at a time, including if you're getting 4 pieces of the same nigiri. The worst part of the tablet is that the photos are tiny and while there's a name for each dish, there is no description about what is in it. While the name for each dish is pretty self explanatory for a number of items, it is not for the less standard rolls. This could also be problematic for any diners with allergies. They have an AYCE option and the quality of the food shows that. There were some decent plates, mostly mediocre with too much rice, and one roll (the volcano roll) that my dining companions found so inedible that I myself didn't end up trying it.

Yelp
I was craving conveyor belt sushi, so my friends and I came to Kaiten Zushi. Though it was not a true conveyor belt sushi experience with plenty of plates rotating throughout the restaurant, the sushi is still delivered to you via a belt system. We came for lunch time, and I thought the prices were pretty fair. Most dishes come out super fast, though some did take longer than others. The sushi was decent quality, and the service was good. They also have an all-you-can-eat special that we did not do, but it seemed like a pretty good deal!

Yelp
TL;DR Fun vibes, a little confusing menu, fresh fish and unless you can eat 15-20 plates yourself the AYCE isn't worth it. Not a typical conveyor belt sushi place like Kura with revolving sushi you can grab. You can tell it wasn't really built to be like that either because they don't have a plate removal mechanism so there is a nice server coming by to take your plates every few minutes and the little robot server bumps into people in the walkway between tables sometimes. Your food is ordered on a tablet and comes by on the conveyor belt when it's ready. It's not covered or anything so if you're expecting it to be on the little clamshells, they're just on plates. The miso is good, naturally sweet and savory. I'm not a fan of their scallop nigiri, but that salmon toro got the work. I had at least 5 of them along with 2 salmon avocado rolls. The menu has volcano rolls, Godzilla rolls, etc but no description of what's in them so the menu was a little difficult to manage with those more expensive, named rolls. My family and I put it AWAY in there for $100, so we would've wasted money on the All You Can Eat at $50pp. We had about 25 items of nigiri, a hand roll, miso soups, and regular rolls and it came out to be around $100 with tax. A fair deal if you ask me.

Yelp
Kaiten Zushi has a fun concept - you order using an iPad and the food arrives in the conveyor belt. I went here for lunch time on a weekday with my coworkers. As a party of 6, their table was quite small and we needed to squeeze in together. We decided to do their lunch AYCE special for $30. They seemed to only have basic sushi options. This was a fun place to eat given the concept, but it would be great to see more from the menu.

Yelp
Sushi So Fresh, It Might Still Be Swimming I came for sushi I stayed because my taste buds threw a party This place is like if your favorite anime and your dream sushi had a baby. The sushi So fresh, I swear one of the tuna pieces winked at me. The service Faster than my internet when I'm trying to stream Netflix. Whether you're a chopstick ninja or still using a fork (no judgment), you're gonna have fun here. Come hungry, leave happy... and maybe slightly in love with the chef.

Yelp
Revolving sushi boom going on in nyc. With the abundance of new revolving sushi spots i'd give kaiten as being average. Nice attentive service as tables were serviced. Loved the beverage robot that brings you drinks automated. The below average comes from the selection of sushi. It's pretty plain jane, your usual items you'd get at a supermarket. Items weren't plentiful and was the same items rolling by over and over. The ala cart menu was also sub par with creativeness and some items seemed to be a bit still frozen, like the spice tuna had a bit of a frozen center in the chopped tuna. For me it's a nice spot to try once, but with the price and selection it wouldn't be a stand out in the area.

Yelp
Came here for lunch on a Friday, not too many people! We were seated immediately, and I liked the privacy that the booths give. I liked the conveyor belt concept, and everything on the conveyor belt is made to order (not like other places where food is constantly revolving). All the food came very quickly, and they were delicious. The beef udon had a huge portion of meat, and the soup was very flavorful. I liked that it was a smaller portion so I had space to try other foods, and it was a good price. The chicken karaage was also fresh and had the perfect amount of crispiness. In my opinion, the rolls and nigiri are a bit expensive, but it was a fun experience.

Yelp
Every year I come here with my coworkers on a business trip, and everything is so lovely and thoughtfully prepared. The service is amazing both from humans and the little robot that delivers NA drinks. It's overwhelming to have so many options, but the online menu is thorough and you are able to plan your choices in advance. The actual space is gorgeous and a really great atmosphere for any kind of meal whether it be intimate or in a group.

Yelp
Very good sushi for the price and concept. It's no omakase establishment, but Kaiten is still a fun experience with a conveyer belt with dishes ranging $4 and up. I enjoyed the salmon toro as well as many pieces of the nigiri. The rolls were also pretty interesting as well as the donburi rice bowls. Fun place to go to in Midtown Manhattan that isn't too far from the Empire State Building/Kaiten. Definitely will return when I'm in the area and want sushi!

Yelp
Food was not bad for an AYCE place. Service was fast since we went there around opening time for lunch. Food comes straight to your booth after ordering via the belt.

Yelp
The workers were all smiles very cheerful friendly and I loved that ! Unfortunately it was once we went in it went downhill. The table smelled like wet socks not very appetizing they moved us to a different table it was do able but still had a faint smell. The food itself took a long time to come which I didn't understand why being we were ordering mostly sushi and sushi rolls and the restaurant was not busy maybe 4 tables in total. And the food itself (both sushi and hot food) was just very subpar not that good no wow factor not much flavor not much anything really. The highlight of the meal was the robot coming over with our drinks. Personally don't plan on coming back. (Disclaimer: I had a lot of other food other then what's posted in the pictures)

Yelp
A fun concept but East was first back in the day. I preferred taking the old method of taking food with prices. It's a bit wi key ordering from the iPad but really fun when your food arrives. Food was good but can't really see the value but for a group of millennials could be a fun night. I added on a yellowtail sashimi which was yummy and ℹ particularly liked the sesame dressing. No brown rice is also a downer for me. Best thing is the drink robot. That's mega cute. Ate: Miso Edamame Three pice sushi Extra tuna Total: $28 before tip

Yelp
I was a little scared to try this place due to the multiple reviews of it saying it is busy and they are out of stuff. However, We went around 5:30 on a Friday and we were seated right away! The server was attentive and they came to our table to refill our water so many times. You order everything electronically and it comes on a belt which is pretty fast service. the fish wasn't amazing quality but it was great for the price in my opinion! the handroll was pretty huge and I loved it. It wasn't overly loud or crowded and the space felt pretty clean to me!

Yelp
Had a fantastic experience at Kaiten SuThe sushi was fresh, delicious, and came at a great price. The conveyor belt setup made it fun and convenient to try different varieties. I especially want to commend JP for the outstanding service--friendly, attentive, and always ensuring we had everything we needed. JP truly made our dining experience even better. Will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
It was easy to walk in and have a seat with no wait at all. It was fun to eat at a conveyer belt sushi location, where you can order on a tablet, and you can see your food delivered fresh & straight to you. I really liked how the tablet notifies you of which food is approaching too. You can order as many as four items at a time, and whenever you buy a drink, a cute robot stops by your table to hand it to you. I'd be tempted to return just to see the robot again, but I'd rather try another place. This is because the food tasted okay, but just okay. I wasn't really amazed by the flavors like I have with other Asian restaurants, and the food options appeared limited compared to other experiences I've had. But, this could still be an exciting place to bring your friends or family. It may be hard for picky eaters to stay here though, as the only thing I found simple to eat was the french fries and donuts. I wouldn't come back, but this is a great spot for those who want to try different types of Asian food- especially sushi- in one sitting. The servers were also very attentive and kind, and I'm happy about that. Overall, it's a nice spot to hang out and try new things.

Yelp
Kaiten wrongly bills itself as NYC's only conveyor belt sushi restaurant, but that inaccuracy aside, I'd still rather visit Kaiten than its much pricier, kawaii-obsessed competitor. Also, why does NYC have such a dearth of conveyor belt sushi restaurants? They were the norm when I lived in London, UK...and that was during the aughts! Anyway, Kaiten's a step up from the stereotypical belt restaurant, in that everything is made to order and flows down the belt directly to your table when ready. In fact, you can only order 4 items max at a time on your tableside iPad. So those worried about contracting salmonella from ngiri spinning around and around for hours in room temperature can rest assured that this is not the case at Kaiten. Everything we tried was decent, with some better than others. From best to worst: - Salmon Cocktail - Rainbow Roll - Spicy Salmon Roll - Yellowtail Sashimi - Chicken Karaage - Salmon Avoacado Handroll - Tonkotsu Ramen - Tantan Spicy Ramen Service was fast and attentive--sometimes a bit too attentive, like when they took the lid for our ramen bowl away when we hadn't even started the ramen. All in all, a step up from the typical conveyor belt spot. Here's hoping they survive the Midtown Manhattan curse.
