Houston’s Best Pandan Drinks and Desserts | Eater Houston

"Among its many specialties, including fluffy mango and coffee cakes, this Dun Huang Plaza bakery in Bellaire specializes in some of the city’s best pandan cakes. Diners can opt for them in 6- and 8-inch round cakes or for more personal-sized portions with its cupcakes." - Brittany Britto Garley

The Best Bakeries in Houston | Eater Houston

"Blink and you might miss this unassuming bakery tucked away in a quiet strip mall. Expect Asian-inspired cakes, breads, and desserts like its pandan cake, puff honey cake, or its ever-popular Japanese cheesecake. There are also a variety of sweet and savory mini bun offerings like its red bean paste bun or its Danish hot dog bun. But just like any proper Taiwanese bakery, the bolu baos — light, airy pineapple buns with a perfectly balanced flaky, coconut crust — are the highlight." - Brittany Britto Garley

Kamalan Bakery Review - Chinatown - Houston - The Infatuation

"While there are many excellent bakeries in Chinatown, the tiny Chinese spot Kamalan in Dun Huang Plaza is one of the best. No other bakery’s mango-cream-filled milk bun even comes close to the pillowy soft one at Kamalan. You can also pick up fluffy Japanese-style cheesecakes, savory stuffed breads with sticky red bean paste, or jalapeño and cheese sausage buns with a layer of oven-crisp cheese on top. Get a tray, some tongs, and grab as many pastries as you can." - Chelsea Thomas

12 Houston Desserts That Matcha Lovers Need to Try

"Kamalan Bakery is a small shop on the front side of Dun Huang Plaza. Arrive between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. on any day except Tuesdays to order ice cream-stuffed, fish-shaped waffles called taiyaki. This traditional Japanese dessert at Kamalan Bakery includes sweet red beans underneath the ice cream. Less traditional are the marshmallows, whipped cream, and Pocky on top. Get there early, because this place is popular and ingredients run out." - Christina Autry

Google
This bakery has really good birthday cakes and other pastries, such as bread, cookies, pies, and cakes. This is the only place where I want to buy birthday cakes, because their birthday cakes taste so delicious and are just perfect. They have many choices of birthday cake styles and sizes. The service is alright. The staff lacks interpersonal communication skills, such as greeting customers, and they don't seem that friendly to customers. If you want a delicious pastry or birthday cake, then I would highly recommend this bakery for you.

Google
My favorite item at this bakery are their egg tarts. It’s a smooth custard with a cookie like crust. Perfectly balanced and even better when warmed up. I came in on a weekday around 10am and the man working was stocking on his own. Though he was busy, he took his time to help me decide on what to get. The bakery items were still fresh on the rack! This place has always been my go to, definitely support this bakery.

Google
May I just say, that all the items purchased here were exceptional. The cake was served to friends at dinner and they all agreed that the cake was outstanding. It was light, moist and not overly sweet. Please visit this location and try the array of incredible foods.

Google
This was the next establishment in our hunt to find the best Japanese Cheesecake in town. While it didn’t make the list for that category. The Mango cake was the star of the show today! It was so fluffy, with the perfect hint of sweetness, lite, and enjoyed by everyone. It didn’t last. Hehe While we had a little bit of a language barrier communicating. But we were able to get everything we were after without to much difficulty. Can’t wait to return to try more of their treats. Note: The establishment address pulls up being located in the rear of the business park. This is false, its located on the front, off to the left corner and easily missed. Then finding a spot to park will be your next difficulty. Not many spots available for all the business located in this corner section. Hope it helps. Until next time.

Google
My favorite bakery in Chinatown! They have this spongy cake that is soooo good. Their egg tarts and pineapple cakes are also super good!

One of my Houston friends posted about this bakery on social media so I took note. This past weekend, we visited from San Antonio so I had to stop by to check it out. I bought some for my Dad, my husband and myself and some to share with neighbors and other family. I bought a custard bun, bacon cheese bun, pork sung bun, Danish BBQ bun, Danish coconut bun, several mango cream cheese, several coconut pineapple cake, small sausage bun and ham cheese bun. What I tried so far is so fresh and soft. There were other refrigerated items which I wished I could've brought home but next time. It's next to Jungle Cafe so go check it out!

Google
The mango birthday cake is so delicious, fantastic looking and fresh with reasonable price. But never order from a man, his attitude is so bad and rude. The lady is so nice.

Google
Stumbled onto this place while deciding what to eat at the Don Huang Plaza. Cute mom and pop small bakery that's neatly organized and clean. We got a few savory bread buns and weren't disappointed. The BBQ bread had way more meat filling than other places. Bread is mildly sweet like Hawaiian bread even with savory fillings. The cakes look amazing. Will be back for the taiyaki.

Yelp
This bakery is the ONLY Taiwanese bakery in the Houston area that makes their dough fresh every single day. Other popular bakeries use frozen dough from a distributor. The dough on each bread is different and completely different and delicious. My kids love the mango and blueberry cream cheese breads. My favorite is the buolo and cream stick. Their mango cake is also to die for!

Yelp
I've loved baled goods at Kamalan previously, but never given a try with their birthday cakes. So glad I did yesterday! The bakery was so accommodating for me to order at 10 AM for a pickup at 1 PM. The pictures of the fresh mango cake caught my eyes, so I went with that as a 10" calke for a party of 15 people -- and that was a lot! I'd recommend going for 8" for 15 people the next time. The cake was good -- the mango was tart and sweet, so so fresh! The frosting is not too sweet either, which is a great Asian compliment! The only thing I would say as needs improvement is some layers of the sheet cake was dry on the outer edges, so maybe a little overbaked? Overall, I would order this again, and would love to try their Pandan Durian flavor!

Yelp
One of my go to bakeries for cake on any occasion. Super easy to order by phone and pick up is a breeze. A plus for accepting credit cards. You cannot go wrong with the Pandan or Mango cake. The cake itself is light and airy and not overly sweet. The fruit is always fresh.

Yelp
Yum! Popped in here on a whim to get some Japanese cheesecake for my mother-in-law (to express our gratitude for babysitting). While I personally didn't try the cheesecake, I did try a cheese bun (a spongy-looking square pastry) and a ham/cheese bun. Both were excellent. The bread was light and fluffy and flavorful. Reasonable prices. $10 minimum for credit card purchases. Highly recommended for a snack or more.

Yelp
We come here anytime there's a birthday. Our favorite has been the Pandan cake. It's light, fresh tasting, and not overly sweet. The fruit is seasonal and if you don't call in, can be either inside and outside the cake or just on top. You also have to go earlier in the day or they could be sold out. We've also tried the mango cake and it was okay, not as good as the Pandan. As for the pastries, I've only had the egg tarts, which are super delish.

Yelp
In America is fantastic can find a bakery can make Asia style cakes taste , Kamalan bakery can make it . The cake No too sweet just the way I like it . I did try go inside order cake and call for question about the cake ... Both are excellent service , They are very patient and polite to listen to you , and knowledge about the cake ingredient and special they no rush you to done order . (I had experience calling to Asia place order things...always add up uncomfortable feeling because they are rude and no patient to hear or answer you. ). They also can order on The website too . Please inside a clean thing put it in order . Only one thing is no so good is hard to find the location , because they are at end of the building and there are bit dark. And make you feel is no more shop in there . And bit hard to find parking . Overall excellent .

Yelp
Very avg run of the mill Chinese bakery. Probably slightly less than 85deg or Six Ping...but just slightly. The cashier lady was super sweet and friendly (which is not always the case in some of the others I've been to). Decent spread, not vast. The actual baked goods were fresh and tasty as always. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here because pretty much every plaza on Bellaire blv has 2 or 3 of these types of places. Just pick any. Final Grade: B+ If I'm ever around this plaza, I might stop by.

Yelp
The guy at the counter was super helpful and stopped to double check if they had BBQ pork buns even though he was very busy. Everything I got was so good! The pandan chiffon cake was very pillowy soft. Egg tarts perfect. Pineapple buns had great texture and flavor. Best I've had in Texas and I come from Massachusetts where there is a lot of competitive Asian bakeries.

Yelp
They have the best Mango Sheet Cake!!! My daughter celebrated her 15th birthday in one of the best Chinese Restaurant in Chinatown and her Aunt surprise her with these delicious and beautiful cake from these bakery. The cake looks so sweet and sugary but its actually not very sweet (which we love) and they used fresh slices of mangoes to decorate on top of cake.It was a hint and definitely coming back for more!!!

Yelp
I wish I lived in Houston just for this bakery! My friends and I taste-tested a few baked goods from here, and all of them were a hit. Not only was the bread itself soft and fluffy, but the various fillings -- we tried red bean and taro -- were also very flavorful (not to mention, packed to the brim). Must-orders: Black Sesame Taro Bread, Sesame Red Bean Bun, Pork Sung Bun

Yelp
My sweet tooth was having craving, and I needed to get it satisfied. So while my wife and her friends were purchasing some boba drinks for themselves nearby, I browsed the strip mall to look for a bakery. I did see a few bakeries before spotting Kamalan. Two of them were closed, while the other one was not calling to me. If you know what I mean. The first thing that I noticed when I walked into Kamalan Bakery were the egg tarts sitting behind the front counter. I knew right then that those are what I needed to satiate my sweet tooth. Did not take a really detailed look at their other baked goods because I was in a rush. Egg Tarts looked yummy, and they did not disappoint. 4 stars! Portugal Custard Tarts were even better. Yummy! 4.5 stars!! Prices were reasonable. Service was good too. I recommend Kamalan Bakery if you find yourself in this area of Houston, Texas. Enjoy!!

Yelp
Only had the mango cake there. Got it for mom's birthday. With other cakes, we usually have leftovers to take home. Completely finished it with party of 10. I got it for another occasion and same situation. Everybody loved it. I did not give it five stars just because it's such a simple cake with pretty mango decorations. (I have high demands for my cakes). But it was very good.

Francisco J.

Yelp
Quick friendly service. Bough my mom a little tiramisu cake and it was absolutely delicious!! Not overly sweet. Also bought myself a green roll cake - I don't know what flavor the lady said it was but it's also spongy and yummy. It feels very homey. I didn't see any chairs or tables but I am blind so maybe there were lol

Yelp
We have always loved Kamalan bakery at Bellaire (in China Town), and had to check out their new location in Houston. It's at the heart of Houston and much more spacious than their location at Bellaire. They have a great selection of baked goods, breads, cakes, donuts, egg tarts, moon cakes, birthday cakes etc, and offer drinks and foods too! I tried their rose milk tea with boba (ask for 25% or no sugar if you don't like super sweet) and loved it. I have always heard that out of all the Chinese bakeries, Kamalan uses the least amount of preservatives and additives, and their bread is so delicious. This location has enough space for birthday parties too! The owner is very nice.

Yelp
Typical Asian bakery. Recommended by a friend. Went in on a week day around 5 pm and there was a small crowd. The bakery itself is fairly small. Picked up a few items to try. Obviously the later you go, the less items that may be available. But they were pretty well stocked. The staff was prompt albeit not the friendliest but it might have been because they seemed to have a fairly large order from one customer. I tried one of their sausage buns as well as a coconut one. Picked up a pudding and an egg tart on the way out. The sausage and coconut buns were good. Not too salty or overwhelming. The pudding was plain but had a nice texture. The egg tart was meh. The custard part was well prepared but I wasn't into the crust. I prefer the flaky crusts and this was not that. There was an interesting looking mango cake that I wouldn't mind trying. And they also had little individual cakes. I will def try again.

Yelp
Kudos to 葛瑪蘭面包坊 Kamalan Bakery for moving from Welfresh Supermarket in Sugar Land as a in-house bakery to independent restaurant in Houston Chinatown over 5 years ago. Since it moved to near my house, I get to eat more freshly baked breads with creative ingredients. There are plenty of parking at Dun Huang Plaza. I normal park in the garage and walk pass to Chase Bank to get some cash first. Then stop in for breads. I don't really have favorites when it comes to Taiwanese bread and pastry. I missed breads from Olympic Chinese Bakery, though. Kalaman Bakery is the best alternative. Others like 85C and Six Ping Bakery just can't compete.
google avatar

Jodi H.

Yelp
I heard that this spot has the best bread from my Taiwanese cousin...and the quality is truly on point. Kamalan is an Asian bakery that has Vietnamese/Taiwanese influences. I mean where else can you get pandan flavored breads or those small taro flaky swirl delicacies? My favorite breads to get are the savory flaky tuna triangle bread, small flaky swirl spheres (I've had the matcha and the taro and both are delicious), and the simple sweet butter bread. They have a bunch of other items that I would love to get--like their pandan puff cake thing, but there's almonds on it so my nut-allergy Yelpers beware! Everything is truly so fresh and of good quality. Of all the Asian bakeries I've tried here, Kamalan has the highest quality for sure...and the price isn't even that much of a difference. I would definitely choose Kamalan and Six Ping over 85c because of the small business/small batch support and honestly...the prices and quality for it! Come to Kamalan and get your shop on. They also limit the number of people inside their tiny bakery with Covid so that's a plus. Service has always been very efficient, fast and friendly. Shoutout to the sweet Latinx gal who works the cashier station every time I visit. She's dope! Pro Tip: Credit is only with totals of $10 or more, so usually that's about five breads. I have zero problem hitting that total every time I visit.
google avatar

Yelp
I used to come here a lot but I stopped...I guess I was tired of the same bread made into different things. I am also disappointed that they had a coconut bun 3 yrs ago but they stopped making it because the cost of it was too much. I hope that they know that the 3 different types of coconut buns they have now to replace it is just not very good...I rather pay more for better stuff instead of cheaper but tastes mediocre and commonplace. Obviously they always have a ton of it left at the end of the day. I hope the baker knows since he received a medal even though a long time ago for his baking.
google avatar

Yelp
This is my go-to bakery in Bellaire. My favorite thing to get is the pandan sandwich. They don't have it often, so I usually have to settle for the cupcake version in vanilla or pandan. The hot dog with green onion bun is also good too. Recently, I've been getting this sausage loaf that tastes like a supreme pizza. I also like taking home a 5pk bag of croissants or a loaf of the thick toast. For the most part, I haven't been disappointed and it's reasonably priced.
google avatar

Vickie L.

Yelp
I ordered the 6 inch pandan birthday cake here for $28! It was super soft and not too sweet :)
google avatar

Kimmy N.

Yelp
The mango cake I took home was pure heaven! Deliscious, NOT sweet, but just a hint of sweetness...just how I like!
google avatar

Yelp
If you want something budget friendly or just something to munch on before work this is where you should get your bread and cakes! Been going here for awhile now and the customer service is always the best!! Definitely one of my top 3 bakeries to buy from! (I recommend their Japanese cheese cake and their bacon and cream bread? Lol I don't know the name exactly.)
google avatar

Liz N.

Yelp
I was craving some Asian goodies, so I swung by Kamalan to pick up my favorites. I got the hot dog bread, custard bun, pandan cupcake, a Taiwanese pineapple cake, and an egg tart. Man I really enjoyed everything and I love that I got all of these from one bakery. I do enjoy it better than 85 degree bakery. The employees are kind and I would encourage you to swing by to get some favorites!
google avatar

Jenny Z.

Yelp
I tried all of the egg tarts from the surrounding area (LiuPing, ECK, 85 degrees) and the Portuguese egg tarts at Kamalan were the best! The traditional egg tarts were not as good since the custard was a bit jelly like. The Portuguese egg tart custard was creamy and rich. The tart crust was more of a short bread, which complemented the custard well. I also tried a cream pastry here. The bread was soft and the cream was not so sweet. I came back here to purchase more egg tarts to bring home!
google avatar

Andrew T.

Yelp
The freshest asian bakery in Houston. I enjoy their diverse pastries, especially the bread with the bacon and cheese. Unlike other bakeries, I don't believe they sell batches from the day before. It is all baked the day of and sold. If you're interested, I would recommend coming in earlier around 10-11 to get your hands on them because certain treats sell out pretty quickly, but I do know they fire different things at different times according to their website.

Lina F.

Yelp
Love this place always order most birthday cakes here . Always fresh and delicious, must try ham and cheese garlic bread when it's not sold out and their mango cream cheese buns! Yummy!
google avatar

Ly N.

Yelp
Out of all the Chinese bakeries, I favor this one the most for breads. What I especially go here for is the items with red rice yeast in it. This is something that can be used in place of prescribed medicine to help lower their blood pressure levels. They also have taiyakis (stuffed fish shaped bread with your choice of ice cream and red/green bean). Between here and Juicebox, I alternate on picking up the best fruit teas in town. I can't choose which one is better as to each their own.
google avatar

Chris H.

Yelp
Lovely, small, quaint Asian bakery! Everything is so goood! Can't go wrong with anything here. My go-to is the pandan chiffon cake! So fluffy and lightly sweetened ! Just the way I like it hehe. Definitely recommend coming here early in the day for the variety of freshly baked goods
google avatar

Wendy D.

Yelp
Kamalan Bakery has some of the fluffiest breads and cakes that I've seen. I got the Pork Sung Bun and the Milk Bread and I was impressed by how much bounce the breads had. I also tried a mango slice cake and a strawberry slice cake. The cakes were very aesthetic, the fruit was fresh, and the cake was very light and airy with just the right amount of sweetness. For some reason, I wasn't a huge fan of the icing though. It feels a little denser than I usually like and it didn't cool much in the fridge. I definitely recommend coming here to get your breads! Some downsides are that there weren't too many options when I visited and there is a $10 minimum for credit card use.
google avatar

Tim S.

Yelp
Excellent alternative to 85 Degrees across Bellaire Blvd. Highly recommend their fresh dessert bread.
google avatar

April Y.

Yelp
Never posted negative review but I have to. Just bought some bakery yesterday evening and ate it right after I bought. However the Taro cake were all molded inside. Other breads I think were ok. I'm really mad because these were not cheap. Wasted 5 dollars. I don't know if I feel comfortable going back anymore.
google avatar

Monalisa Z.

Yelp
Maybe due to covid or due to it being at night when we dropped by, but twice they didn't have that many items available. Under 10 bread varieties. Pandan cupcakes 5/5 Although the pandan flavor is lacking (smells more like vanilla in fact with green color), what we really loved is the fluffiness and bounciness, softness. I'd never had anything like it Milk dinner roll 5/5 Slightly sweet and very fragrant Pork sung roll 5/5 Again very soft, fluffy and bouncy. We came back the next day.
google avatar

Yelp
I guess I have to thank the YEE for running late cause I had some time to finally check out Kamalan Bakery since it was just right around the corner!!! It's next to Jungle Cafe - another bakery so it looked like it could've been this one if you aren't careful. They really should have store names on doors cause it's a bit difficult to step back to look at the sign above from sidewalk level. It was late in the day, around 7:30pm so they weren't fully stocked on baked goods but they still had a nice selection leftover! I grabbed a Lotus Egg Yolk cake.. cause I love love love mooncake with the salted egg inside and this hit the spot!! It was small so it was mostly egg and yum!! I only bought 1 cause they run steep for such a tiny item (around $2.25 each) but I wished I grabbed a few more! I also grabbed the custard bun! The bun is so so soft and contains just the amount of "bite", I love it! It's the type of bun that I love cause the consistency is soft, gooey with just the right amount of chew. The custard in this was a bit weird - it was almost like a jelly! But I liked it nonetheless! My bf doesn't like custard and he kept asking for more! I got him a bacon cheese bun and he liked that too! I have a vanilla sponge cake left to dig into tomorrow! Can't wait!! Is it ok for me to want to go back already for more goodies when I haven't finished the goodies I bought tonight?! :) I will be back! I love this place more than my first experience at 85 degrees Houston, across the street!
google avatar

Carlin T.

Yelp
Went with a couple slices to try ... even though I was tempted to just buy a whole cake, then freeze and pack when I want to have some haha. Between Six Ping and Kamalan, I don't think you can go wrong at either. I tried the pandan and coffee chiffon cakes, each $3.25. Both very light and still incredibly flavorful and too easy to down in 5 min! Would definitely go for the pandan again.
google avatar

David C.

Yelp
Kamalan Bakery is the BEST Asian bakery in Bellaire. Yeah I said it, and I stand by my word! While there are a couple other bakeries worth visiting, this is the one bakery we keep coming back to. If there is 1 pastry you have to try here, it is the MANGO CREAM CHEESE BREAD!!! This pastry alone is by far our favorite if you can't tell. Every time we go, we always get a minimum of 4 so no one in my family has to fight for one. And what's nice is that they are huge! Even eating just half is quite filling for breakfast, but the creamy mango cream cheese filling just keeps you wanting more. Before eating it at home, I highly recommend warming it up in the microwave for 30 seconds, you'll thank me later. As far as everything else goes, it's always hard to choose. The smells of everything being freshly baked is so mesmerizing. We usually get some of their egg tarts, Japanese style cheesecake, green tea pumpkin bread, or other deliciously filled pastries. We've even ordered birthday cakes from here, and they always get that "WOW" effect from guests when you open the box. I've heard their ice cream taiyaki is worth trying as well. Regardless of what you decide to get here though, I know that you'll love this bakery as much as I do!
google avatar

Gigi H.

Yelp
I am very disappointed. This is not cake. I used to like this bakery. It looks good from the outside. It is just filled with whipped cream.
google avatar

Ashley D.

Yelp
Always love coming to this bakery! Their milk toast is great for avocado toast/eggs. BBQ pork bun was my husband's favorite.
google avatar

Kirk S.

Yelp
Absolutely lovely place. Dropped in here on a whim, got a bunch of pastries, and EVERYTHING was awesome - there wasn't a single thing that I tried that I wasn't absolutely in love with. The prices are also super low, meaning that you can definitely satisfy your sweet tooth here for cheap. Check this place out!
google avatar

Mindy L.

Yelp
It's been over two years since my last review and this place has continued to be one of my go-tos for Asian bread. They have also introduced new breads which always makes the visit more exciting! Usuals here now include Pandan and regular chiffon cakes, pudding buo luo, ham and cheese Danish, taro bread, taro donut, and cocktail bun with coconut custard. I've had chiffon cakes from six ping, 85, desir (bakery inside 99 ranch), and none of them compare with the the soft pillowy one from Kamalan. The sliced almonds on top give it an extra crunch, the perfect treat. Sometimes I make the trip here just for one of these babies, and of course end up home with a large bag of goodies. $10 minimum for credit card, but with the large selection of breads, you won't have a problem.
google avatar

Joy C.

Yelp
I can't speak for any other of the baked goodies here (egg tarts, custard buns, etc.), but I can vouch for the delicious, fluffy mango cake that comes chock full of delicious, fresh mango. The cream filling itself is also tasty and not overwhelmingly sweet, and the fruit topping is generous as well. The 8" creation was about $35 and was more than enough for 5 people with plenty of leftovers to share. Service is friendly and efficient as well. Credit card minimum of $10.

Yelp
We love the cakes here and always order them because they're moist and the cream is light, but we recently ordered one for my son's birthday and found small metal pieces on the bottom of of our cake. My son was the one to notice them, it looked like maybe they were from a Brillo sponge? We stopped eating the cake and we returned to the bakery the next day and explained to them what we found. All they offered was a refund of $36 for what we paid for the cake. My son was sad we didn't have any cake for his birthday but I only hope that none of us get sick from eating those pieces unknown material that was in the cake! If there was residue of some kind of cleaning sponge on the bottom of that cake, that means they don't wash the cake pans after scrubbing them! Yuck! The owner or manager told me that he was going to find out what was going on in the kitchen but refused to tell me what they use to wash their pans with. It's so disappointing because we really like their cakes but obviously they're not practicing cleanliness. I hope others were not affected either! We were just lucky my son noticed in time before the kids ate any!

Yelp
A smaller bakery in Chinatown. Although small, this place has a lot to offer. They have a wide range of savory breads and sweets. There are also cakes you can order beforehand for birthdays or special occasions. Of course, there are already cakes on display to buy on the spot. The prices are good here but there is one thing that this place has that no other bakeries in Chinatown has. ***Drumrolls*** Taiyaki! It's an interesting dessert that consists of ice cream in the shape of a fish. You can choose from different flavors of ice cream of vanilla, green tea, plum, and etc. Afterward, you can choose your base of red bean or custard. Pocky sticks will complete your taiyaki with mochi and a fluffy whipped cream to top it off. I really enjoy this desserts not because it's so fun to say but because you get everything in one.

Yelp
Ordered an 8 inch Mango cake for my birthday, picked it up, and was astounded at how beautiful the presentation was, from the gorgeous box to the cake decoration, down to the small details. Truly professional. Unfortunately, the mango around the cake and inside was dry and hard! Big disappointment. Good frosting and not too sweet, but the entire cake lacked moisture and creaminess.

Yelp
I love Kamalan! I've never had anything I didn't like from here. My favorite is their Hokkaido cupcake, which is a super moist sponge cake with creamy goodness inside (from the fridge section), and their buo luo BBQ bun (BBQ pork inside a buo luo or "pineapple" bun). The best part is when you walk in, the smell of baked bread just hits you and it's heavenly. It's been a while since I've walked into a bakery that does just that. Highly recommend this place. It's one of my go-to's whenever I fly back home from New York. Prices are also pretty decent and there is a $10 minimum for credit card. I don't know about you, but I find it incredibly easy to spend over $10 here. I also may or may not have a carb problem.... but worth it.

Yelp
First time ordering from here. My dad preferred his cake to be not too sweet. I ordered a half sheet cake, pandan flavored with pudding filling. It was absolutely delicious, moist and beautifully decorated. I had to travel with this cake for 3 hours in the car and it did not melt in the Texas heat. The price point was great as well! I was expecting it to be around $100 +. This huge cake was only $75! They checked off everything I wanted in a cake: Quality, price and taste. Will definitely be ordering more here in the future!
