Kan Kiin Brunch & Thai Eatery is truly a hidden gem in Daly City. I’ve been back three or four times already, and it’s consistently a great experience. The space is beautifully designed with a strong sense of atmosphere—warm, stylish, and perfect for gathering with friends or family. The service is always friendly and welcoming. That said, when it gets busy, food can take a bit longer to come out, so it’s best to come with a relaxed mindset and enjoy the vibe. My experience so far is based on dinner only (I haven’t tried their brunch menu yet), and there are several standout dishes I highly recommend: • Seafood Tom Yum Soup Hot Pot (highly recommended): Perfect for sharing among 3–4 people. Rich and creamy with strong coconut notes, balanced by tomato and lime acidity, and packed with fresh seafood. This is an absolute must-order. • Fresh Crab Fried Rice (Chef’s Special): Beautifully presented in a large coconut shell, very generous portion, and loaded with crab meat. Both visually impressive and delicious. • Spicy Catfish Clay Pot: The fish is very tender and pairs perfectly with rice—comforting and satisfying. Some dishes were less memorable: • Roti with Massaman Curry Beef Chuck was just okay—the sauce leaned quite heavy and sweet. • Lazy Herbal Beef had tougher beef, and the sauce mixed into the rice was a bit too salty for my taste. Their mocktails are also very good, refreshing and well-balanced. Overall, Kan Kiin is a place I strongly recommend. Flavor preferences may vary, but it’s definitely on the bolder, heavier side, so those who prefer lighter or more delicate flavors may want to order carefully. Still, it’s a standout spot in Daly City and absolutely worth a visit.

This restaurant has been blowing up on my social media feed and I have to try out this place. Basically, it’s a Thai restaurant serving breakfast and brunch as well as other items. Unfortunately, it’s too hectic for me to go on a weekend because of tight crowds especially on mornings, which is why I went on Monday. There is a “Complete Parties Only” sign, which most likely means that they’re trying to fill up every table. In other words, you might need to sit with other people. I heard that a few people had to sit with others. Thankfully, that policy wasn’t enforced since I came on a weekday and that I had the table to myself. The place really looks elegant and nice with comfort music playing. It’s quite rare for restaurants to be like this especially when it isn’t fine dining. It’s like the staff was really taking good care of it. Honestly, many restaurants should be like this. Also, there is a long table, which is used mostly for multiple parties to sit together. Food is pretty much superb here! I’m a big fan of pancakes and sometimes with matcha. So I gotta try the Matcha Pancakes. Very delicious and delicate especially when it’s topped with fruits. The matcha sauce actually adds a kick into it adding rich flavor into the pancakes. Sometimes, I dunk pancakes into the matcha sauce. Thai iced coffee is good too! Really wakes me up a bit in the morning! I’ve seen plenty of delicious items from the menu as well as their pics from online, and would love to come back again to try more! Also, I suggest going on a weekday if possible. If not, you’ll have to endure longer wait times during the weekends due to packed crowds.

Finding unique breakfast menu is a game I like to play. This hit the mark. We were a table of 8, and most everyone tried a different dish. Everyone loved their dish, except the breakfast sandwich/burger. That sure looked good, but they felt it was too ordinary. I think it was because they asked for no sauce. I ordered golden pork because of Brussels sprouts and potatoes. The pork flavor was amazing. The pieces were crispy enough for me. since I was a bit afraid they might be soft and stewed. I tried someone else’s Thai chicken:💯 soooo yummy. We also shared yummy matcha pancakes. The drunken noodles, jook, and seafood stew were big hits as well. Be aware…it takes awhile to get your food. The presentations were lovely. The portions generous. Servers were very friendly. I would go here again in a heartbeat. I appreciated the drink menu too which includes fresh coconuts and several fun cocktails. Several people also commented on the pleasant decor. It’s a bummer they do not take reservations in the weekend mornings. It deserves the Michelin recognition. I want to go back again, but it will have to wait for our next SF trip.

It’s Thai fusion cuisine! We had the crab fried rice, catfish claypot, the beef flat noodles, the green curry, pai Thai noodles - all were very good! I especially love the cat fish clay pot! It’s dynamite! Even though it comes in a big dish - you can easily share it like family style ! The atmosphere is casual ! If you want to bring a cake or your own sweets- please bring your own knifes and paper plates or they will charge you $2.50 a person to borrow the plates and cutleries! Which sucks!

Cute restaurant and very Instagram picture worthy food. Nice portion, don’t order more than 1 dish per person. Taste? Barely there. Chicken was also very very dry. Food is almost made just purely for photos. We went during lunch and my impression is basically classic American breakfast/brunch items sprinkled with Thai basil and garlic on them. Matcha items are nice tho, maybe rebrand to a Japanese restaurant is more appropriate 🙂

Been meaning to try their brunch menu. When someone suggested we try something different , I immediately suggested this location. First of all, like it was meant to be, we found parking almost right in front of the restaurant. We ordered: Pork Belly porridge, classic egg Benedict, very berry pan cake, 2 eggs and sausage, French toast, curry pasta, and scrambled egg. To drink: Thai coffee, Thai tea and very berry mojito. Food was very good except the pan cake was a little bit sweet for my taste but it was nice and fluffy. The very berry mojito was good. Not enough liquor but hey, maybe it’s still early. :). We definitely would come back but would like to try dinner. Update: 10/14/2025 We had to come and try their dinner. It was amazing. Their food and their service. We ordered: Chicken Wing and Samosas to start. Then we ordered: seafood tom yum soup, pad Thai chicken, pineapple fried rice, pa ram tofu, lazy herbal beef and papaya salad combo. Everything was good except for the rice that came with the lazy herbal beef. Just a bit too spicy for me otherwise everything was amazing and I would definitely come back.

Great brunch spot if you don’t mind the wait and the hassle of parking other than that it’s a must! Matcha pancakes are amazing and their Pork Belly and Crab Benedict are also a must if you don’t want anything sweet. The presentation of the food is also eye pleasing and definitely matches the flavor. I can say the same thing for their drinks plus they also have cocktails to spice up your weekend or week day. The service was good and I get it could get hectic at times and hopefully they hire more staff to make it a more efficient. Other than that you must check it out if you have the chance.

Kan Kiin is a fantastic pick for thoughtfully crafted Thai cuisine. 🇹🇭✨ Their curry dishes are amazing—rich, fragrant, and beautifully balanced with spice and sweetness. 🍛 The appetizers feel Michelin-level, especially the Thai sausage, which is packed with bold, complex flavors and a perfect snap. 🌶️🥢 With its creative dishes and refined execution, Kan Kiin is a must-try for Thai food lovers. 😋🌟

Tried out their brunch today and it's a hit! The matcha pancakes were done right. Not too sweet...not too thick! I have had some better hotcakes but I enjoyed these for-sure. Food was colorful, tasted yummy and a decent portion. Pricey but well worth it & every place is these days! 3 dishes and 3 drinks $90. They have quick service& the cutest, comfy atmosphere. Love the colors in there. I will continue to return.

Unique brunch spot with an Asian twist I wasn't expecting. The Thai tom yum soup was very flavorful, with the meat being both soft and crispy. The matcha pancakes had a very matcha forward taste which I enjoyed. It might have been too matcha forward though combined with the sauce but that was just my personal option. Food: 8/10 Service: 8/10 (busy) Ambience: 7.5/10

popular spot been wanting to try and finally experienced delicious food and thirst quenching libations " jok " crispy pork belly porridge reminded me of arroz caldo and it did not disappoint. my dad and uncle also ordered the jok and their bowl was pretty much empty at the end. my son ate most of the kid's waffle with ice cream and finished the long strips of bacon thank you to the staff for accommodating my mom who arrived early to sign into kiosk for waitlist . some of the party of nine arrived late but a long table was held for us definitely will go again to oder other items

Today Thursday we were party of four for lunch at 11am. I made a Yelp reservation but I don't think it was necessary to do. Hubby & I arrived before our friends and we were led to a table even though there was a sign posted outside stating complete party must be present to be seated. Maybe that's enforced when they're super busy. Given a double sided laminated menu, hubby & I started with their house Bloody Mary cocktail. We ordered after our friends arrived - * hubby had the fried chicken with waffle - the chicken was coated nicely. Two pieces of marinated breast meat. The waffle was crisp. * my friend & I both had the pork belly in claypot - generous pieces of pork belly over rice. My dish was warm but I prefer it hotter. The dish needed overall more flavor. * lastly other friend had the cheeseburger with bacon with fries. The humongous burger came on a brioche bun. The fries were hot out of the fryer. We ate leisurely and three of us had leftovers. Service was efficient and attentive. As we had an early lunch we found street parking nearby. The restaurant was 85% capacity when we left around 12:45pm.

Parking can be a hurdle. We arrived around 10:30am and there was a small crowd. I got on the waitlist and received a text that our table was ready after 10 minutes, not bad. The interior was nicely decorated- cute for photos. I was tempted to get the matcha buttermilk pancakes, but I wanted something savory more. I went with the jok- rice porridge. It was tom yum flavored. I didn't really like the texture of the rice, but I did like the additions within. It came with crispy pork belly, poached egg, ginger, shiitake mushroom, green onion, served with fried doughnut. Overall, it was comforting for a cold, wet day.

I called a few days before planning to meet someone here. They told me they have no reservations for the mornings. In the morning when we arrived someone checked in saying they had a reservation. We also noticed a yelp sign in sheet. I wish I was informed about this on the phone call. Once I checked in for four of us I noticed a table for four that was empty, it remained empty for 39 minutes before we were sat on it. It felt like the seating wasn't efficiently planned. The food is displayed really nice but I found the chicken quite fatty but it wasn't my type of fatty. I also got the chicken sandwich which was LARGE. It was too hard for me to eat there so I took that home with me. The drink I got was the berry Thai tea but this was too sweet for me.

Stopped by around 11:30 on a Saturday. Only had to wait about 10 minutes and they were able to accommodate our stroller, even though it was a little tight in the restaurant. I parked at Home Depot and walked over, wasn't gonna bother trying to park any closer. We ordered Steak and eggs: I hardly ever order steak and eggs, but the pictures looked good. I also almost never order Thai basil fried rice at a Thai restaurant. Overall the dish was decent, the steak was a little over done and the there were few inedible pieces on it. But this made me realize how simple yet delicious Thai basil fried rice is. I'm definitely gonna try to make this at home more often! Sweet corn crab Benedict: overall pretty bland. You could taste the greasiness of the fried corn cake, and then the butteriness of the hollandaise. But other than that there was no real flavor to this dish. Other reviews said the same and we should have listened. The potatoes were good and I barely got to try any of the salad w peanut sauce but that was a nice different flavor compared to the rest of the dish. I think there needed to be more of that sauce or any other Thai sauce to add a little flair to this dish. Otherwise it's just a heavy greasy mess. The drinks sounded good but we already had coffee before driving up, and were planning to get matcha later. About $65 for the two dishes plus tip.

Came at 12pm on a Saturday. It was pretty busy but for a party of 2 only waited about 45min. The table was not well cleaned, table was sticky and could see the smudges of food left from previous customers. So one star off for that. I got their chicken and waffles were was amazing! Chicken was nice and juicy. Waffles had great flavor and just right amount of crisp. The Benedict's fried chicken was not our favorite dish. If we came back, would order something else. Matcha pancake - the pancake itself doesn't have much matcha flavor but the matcha sauce does make it taste yummy. I will say the music they had on was fire. Had our heads bopping. It was mainly 2010s bops.

Is Nēv in the house? I know I'm in the minority but we def felt like we were catfished and bamboozled by these photogenic dishes but more on that latter. Opening in 2022, Kan Kiin has been on my list to go to. Since then, they've blown up on socials for their vibrant, eye-catching Thai-inspired brunch dishes and they're currently the only resto in Daly City to be in the Michelin Guide (not Michelin starred). I was coming from the city and my friends were coming from the southern peninsula so this was the perfect mid-point to meet for brunch. W A I T NO rezzies for weekend brunch and the yelp waitlist is in-person only. Line forms 15-20 minutes before opening. There's a sign that says, they seat "complete parties only" yet we saw multiple incomplete parties being seated. When I noticed people who arrived after us being seated, I went inside to inquire and was told they texted me. I was confused because some staff was coming outside and calling names. Then, they told me they were waiting for my complete party when everyone was already here waiting. Kindly be consistent. F O O D TL;DR: Eggs on point. Everything was seasoned with imagination (bland) with most food arriving cold. Based on the reviews, it's not a one off. * Steak & Eggs: 8 oz NY-steak, two sunny side up eggs, "Ka Pow" Thai basil fried rice ($30): https://tinyurl.com/3jas8sz4 - Requested medium rare Cooked blue rare, the steak was flavorless, chewy, and gristly. The ka pow less fried rice fared since it was seasoned but it was greasy and tepid with not a single basil leaf in sight. At least the sunny side up eggs were cooked properly. * Sweet Corn Cake & Crab Benedict w/ poached eggs, house hollandaise, potato wedges, fresh cucumber salad ($27): https://tinyurl.com/bdhdfjcu Best part? The hot, crunchy potato wedges and perfectly runny poached eggs! The rest of the dish seemed disjointed with the cold, stale corn fritter and crab randomly placed. Hollandaise needed salt and lemon. * Hat Yai Fried Chicken & Waffle ($21): https://tinyurl.com/4nwhmvf7 Great presentation but their rendition of Southern Thai fried chicken was unseasoned boneless chicken thigh with a thick, American-style batter that arrived falling off the chicken. There was no aromatic, savory garlicky peppery notes and the Belgium-style waffle was cold. * Kan Kiin French toast w/ 2-way banana, homemade coconut syrup, coconut flakes, mixed fruit ($18 + $4 à la mode): https://tinyurl.com/yc6b6bxv The french toast (brioche) was cold, dry, and devoid of any flavor. Topped with a soggy fried banana. We picked at the fresh fruits and ice cream, and left the rest. S E R V I C E Polite staff. I appreciate the prompt food service and staff coming by regularly to refill my friends' coffee. The bill was dropped off as we're eating. A M B I A N C E Modern and cozy with traditional Thai elements, wood accents, and greenery. P A R K I N G Parking is as bad as the city. Plan to park at Westlake Shopping Center and walk up. Overall, Kan Kiin is great if you value aesthetics and photogenic dishes for your socials. IMO, the taste, quality, and execution was not it. Maybe the ratings are inflated because this is the only trendy brunch spot in Daly City?

Came by for dinner the other night and it was a tasty experience. Kan Kiin is located in Daly City and is featured in the Michelin guide. Parking was surprisingly difficult. Street parking a few blocks away was available. Made a reservation and our table was ready upon arrival. The restaurant was merely 20% full on a Sunday evening. Staff wore uniforms and were courteous. I did find it odd that they had a table in front of the emergency exit. Some of the light bulbs were also burnt out inside the restaurant making lighting uneven in the dining room. After visiting Thailand, I understand this is cultural. Started off with the samosas and sausage for appetizers and they were tasty. The samosas were light and filled with potatoes. I loved the gigantic peanut cucumber salad that complemented this. The sausage was flavorful although it wasn't super fresh. The highlight of the dinner was the rad-na with tons of seafood. The rice noodles had tons of wok hei and the gravy was excellent. The fried banana roti with ice cream was a fantastic way to end off the meal. The roti was tasty and came out hot. The fried banana was tasty and the ice cream was very creamy! ~$47/head after tax and gratuity for dinner with plenty of leftovers.

Compared to neighboring cities, Daly City doesn't have as many brunch spots. However, this eatery has been featured in the 2024 and 2025 Michelin Guide, so I've been wanting to try it out. They don't take reservations for weekend brunch, so we added ourselves to the Yelp wait list once we got there. It was ~15 minute wait to be seated. Our order: Green Goddess Colada ($8.00): +Made of coconut milk, pineapple juice, and Green Curacao syrup, it was refreshing +Aesthetically pleasing: Aquamarine color and topped with a fresh pineapple wedge and mint leaves -No option for 0% ice, and less ice was still a lot of ice. As it melted, it diluted the drink. Strawberry Hurricane ($8.00): +Aesthetically pleasing: Topped with fresh strawberries and mint leaves with layers of red strawberry puree, Blue Curacao syrup, and clear lemon soda -Very sweet -No option for 0% ice, and less ice was still a lot of ice "Hat Yai" Fried Chicken & Vanilla Waffles ($22.00): +Fried chicken was crispy on the outside. +Waffles were fluffy and packed with vanilla flavor. +Showstopping with the knife in the middle and colorful fruit sprinkled throughout -The menu described the fried chicken as "Southern of Thailand-Style", but it was dry and underseasoned. -I prefer waffles with crispy edges, but these were soft throughout. -Fried shallots were overpowering and IMO didn't work with the other flavors. Sweet Corn & Crab Benedict ($28.00): +Eggs were perfectly poached. +Good amount of Dungeness crab meat that didn't taste fishy +Homemade hollandaise sauce was creamy and zesty. +Potato wedges were seasoned perfectly, with a crunchy exterior and fluffy interior. +Cucumber salad w/peanut sauce was a great palate cleanser. -The crispy sweet corn cake was actually a corn fritter, which I felt was misleading. I think it was left in the fryer too long b/c it was so dry and flavorless. -Incohesive: Crab meat was placed on the side instead of incorporated into the benedict and there was a random 1/2 slice of radish on top of the potato wedges. The purple onions were spicy and overpowering; IMO they didn't work with the other flavors. Side notes: 1.) There's a sign that said that only complete parties will be seated, but I saw a table next to me that was seated while they were waiting for people. 2.) Limited street parking *Verdict: Great plating, large portions, average taste, and subpar service. As we were looking at the menu, a server came by 3 times to ask if we were ready to order. Once our food arrived, we noticed that we received the Corn Fritters instead of the Sweet Corn & Crab Benedict. We notified a server and she seemed annoyed even though they made the mistake. In addition, while we were still eating, a server dropped off the bill. Service was non-existent in-between ordering and paying. Originally, we were thinking of ordering the French toast for dessert but we decided to pass b/c it seemed like they wanted our table back ASAP. Lastly, as I was paying on the machine, the server was watching me.

Went here on a Friday afternoon for brunch with reservations, which I would highly recommend. There was a huge crowd outside almost the entire time!! The matcha buttermilk pancakes were fluffy and the icing wasn't overbearingly sweet. The standout was definitely the bangkok golden, which is a seafood stir fry that I found rich and flavorful with a generous portion of seafood. I thought the french toast was nothing out of the ordinary though.

Solid spot for good tasting Thai food for dinner. I have not been for brunch but dinner isn't too busy so probably okay if you needed a spot to go and to walk in. They have a couple of large table areas. Staff took our order and food came out quickly. The fried stuff took a little longer than the others but everything came out in a decent amount of time. Resturant was maybe 1/3 full on a Tuesday night. Everything tasted pretty good although the steak on the lazy beef was a little tough but it was flank and not like a regular steak. Rice that came with it had good flavor with a little kick. The Roti curry is really tasty and would recommend. Street Parking around here sucks but you can park at the Home Depot Safeway lot which isn't too far to walk. Overall decent spot for dinner although pricing maybe a little higher than your normal Thai place.

Reservations: No reservations for the weekends. We placed our name on the waitlist and although there were a lot of parties waiting outside of the restaurant, with the wait list being11 parties, the wait time was only 16-30 minutes. Not bad at all. The restaurant is located near a shopping center so you can walk around while waiting for your table to be ready. The food: We ordered Matcha buttermilk pancakes, Belly clay pot, and Crispy chicken Benedict. Service was extremely quick. The matcha flavor in the pancake was very light but most of the flavor was in the syrup. It is topped with fresh fruit and was a nice sweet addition to the more savory items on our table. The Belly clay pot was very tender and had the jammiest poached egg. Wished there were 2 because it was cooked to perfection. The crispy chicken was huge and you got a lot for your money with this plate. Ambiance of the restaurant felt very elevated and I really liked the fact that the 2 person tables actually have so much room. We could have ordered enough food and drinks for 4 people and it wouldn't feel squished at all.

A modern Thai style brunch fusion with a nice calm aesthetic, great for small gatherings filled with friendly staff. I would say from the other thai eateries and brunch places, Kan Kiin has great customer service and fair portions for the prices! Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon for brunch, typical busy time for a brunch spot but we waited about 20-30 minutes around 11AM. Not too bad but the line definitely got longer as time went on. For 3 people, we ordered 1 appetizer and then 3 plates to share. Corn Fritters - Nice appetizer to start off, but it wasn't as crispy as I was hoping for, it was a bit chewy for a fritter. It resembled more like a mini corn pancake instead but it was still good. The sauce it came with was nice and refreshing, slight sweet and tangy taste to it. 3.5/5 Kan Kiin Toast - Large two slices of french toast with a lot of assortment of fruits on top with coconut syrup. The fruits were great, especially the crispy banana (it comes with bananas made 2 ways). But the french toast again wasn't that crispy and didn't have that eggy/vanilla taste to it. It definitely tasted more like a sweet toast with fruit. Still really good though and very enjoyable. 4/5 "Hat Yai" Fried Chicken & Waffle - Fried chicken and waffle, really great chicken, crispy, but it was a bit peppery, i enjoyed it but caught others off guard. Came with maple syrup, the waffles were okay, i think the french toast was better than the waffles. Otherwise great portion, easily shareable with 2 people, possibly 3 if everyone was tasting/sharing. Chicken itself was like a 4/5 waffle is like a 3/5 Meat Wagon Omelette - Nice omelette dish, the egg was dense, and a lot of meat as the name suggests. A non spicy chorizo accompanied by two different types of bacon. Great dish, and the potato wedges were nice and crispy. Great toast, thick and well toasted. 4/5 Overall, i'd definitely come back to try other dishes. The portions are fair for their prices unlike other brunch spots. I know they've been open for a while but i think they're a great addition to Daly City!

This was a cute brunch spot, tucked away in a strip mall near Home Depot in Daly City. I came here with my family for brunch after seeing the raving reviews and the visually appealing photos on here. Crab Lover Scramble: 5/5. I love how the crab was served on top of the scramble, and the generous amount of crab they gave! Many places incorporate the crab into the scramble, and it seems to disintegrate or disappear into the eggs. Steak and eggs: 3/5. The flavor of the meat was okay to me. The spices didn't pair well to me. I did really enjoy the basil fried rice. It made me intrigued to try the Thai food during dinner time! I will say, charging an additional $3 for scrambled eggs was a bit excessive too. Sweet Corn and Crab Egg Benedict: 5/5. This was my favorite of the orders we had! The corn fritters were crisp and the runny egg yolk was perfect! Again, I do like how the crab can be seen in the dish and was perfectly cooked! I wasn't sure why fries were served with the meal, but I can't complain because they were delish! Applewood scramble: 5/5. Typical American breakfast but cooked really well and was seasoned well. The ciabatta was crispy and fluffy and complemented the meal. I would definitely come back for the Sweet Corn and Crab Egg Benedict. The service was okay overall. They were quite busy, so I don't blame them. I just wish they would be a little more attentive and in a better mood.

This place serves beautiful dishes, which lead us to stop in one day for brunch. We were lucky to be seated and ordered savory breakfast items for us and fancy pancakes for my kid. We had the pork belly benedict, the crab omelet and the Very Berry Pancake. All were big plates and very tasty. Service was busy, but very friendly and the food came out pretty quickly. This is definitely a spot you want to book a reservation for birthday or family meals.

Cute brunch spot in Daly City. The presentation of the "Hat Yai" fried chicken & vanilla waffle was beautiful, and the fried chicken was nice and crispy. The rice in the steak & eggs was incredible, but the steak itself was a little dry and hard to chew. I really liked the "Jok" crispy pork belly porridge - the crispy pork belly was great. Service was friendly and relatively fast. We were able to find street parking a few blocks away.

The food is really good. We got chicken & waffles and steak and eggs. Both were really delicious and flavorful! The service was quick and everyone was friendly. The restaurant is really pretty with music playing a good place to get brunch.

This is my new favorite restaurant. I'd been wanting to try this place for a while and a friend was in town so I suggested this place. We walked in and it was decorated so well, Christmas decorations everywhere and so beautifully done. Our servers were friendly and attentive even though it was a busy day. While there was a line outside, we were lucky and were seated almost immediately. I realize now we can join the waitlist as well, and I'll definitely remember that next time. We ordered the matcha drink, the berry Thai tea, the matcha pancakes, and my friend ordered the regular eggs Benedict and I ordered the pork belly eggs Benedict. My god this was absolutely heavenly. The pancakes were so soft and buttery and fluffy, the match syrup was to die for. I loved that my eggs Benedict came with a little side salad as well, some veggies to balance the meal. I can't wait to return again and again, I'm so glad I finally got to try this place! I want to try everything on the menu!

One of my new fave spots, I've been here for brunch and dinner and both times, I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food is! For dinner definitely get the pork belly stew and green curry. The green curry definitely packs a spicy punch but is so flavorful as well, so good with rice! The pork belly stew has huge chunks of super tender and flavorful pork belly, it's got a savory but sweet flavor to it! I shared previously with my friends the matcha pancakes and they are so fluffy, not too sweet and had a pretty decent matcha flavor! The only bad thing about this place is the impossible parking, other than that the food is pretty decent! Total for 2: $70

Such a cute spot in Daly City! We dont get much pic worth brunch spots in this area so im glad we have this spot! Food is delicious and very unique. My favorites have been the jok tom yum porridge and corn crab cakes eggs benedict! Restaurant was packed and busy but staff were friendly and food came quickly!

Made reservations via Yelp, easy peasy. The place was decorated beautifully for Christmas. Large and spacious and very bright. Unlike when it had been the other Thai establishment previously. We were seated in the window in a nice spacious round banquet style table. Plenty of room for our party of 5. We each ordered something to share so we could try a little of everything. And the main additional share plate was the fresh crab fried rice. Delicious!!! Must order. I think it was my favorite dish of the evening. Although everything was good, definitely worth their Michelin rating. The fish was also very yummy. And my order of the pad Thai was good as well. The others at the table also enjoyed their offerings to the table. A nice night out with my favorite mom friends. Thank you Kan Kiin.

Wavering between 3.5-4 stars Went on a Friday around 11:30. Waitlisted for only 15-20 mins. So not too bad. Parking is a pain. Going to either get super lucky or park in residential area or in the shopping plaza area. Pretty spacious area, was too hungry to notice any of the decor. Lots of round tables, not a huge fan of those if you want to order a lot and share. Ordered the matcha pancake, chicken and waffle, and corn crab Benedict. Matcha pancake was okay. Pancakes look like they added some match into the mix but tasted like a ordinary pancake. The sauce is where it's all at. Tasted like melted matcha hagendaz ice cream. Nice playing with the fruits. Wouldn't order again, I'd go for the french toast next time. Corn, crab, Benedict was pretty good. Can't really taste the corn, but had lots of crab and that was good. The side of sliced cucumber and cherry tomato with a peanut sauce was good. Chicken and waffle was decent. Chicken was juicy and had a good crisp to it. Waffles were similar to the pancakes, meh. If you like thick and fluffy waffles it might be good for you. For me it kind just reminded me of waffles from a diner. I'd come again to try their other dishes but not on my list of must return

Loved loved love everything about this place! The decor takes you right into a gorgeous green island full of fresh foods. The thai iced coffee I got was a bit sweet to my liking but everything else was out of the park. The display of the food was artistic and delicious. We ordered the steaks and eggs (steak a touch dry) the corn fritters (yum), chicken and waffles (the chicken was juicy, waffle crisp) and the pork belly plate (interesting brunch item). Cute for smaller groups, parking can be hit or miss and the wait time was quick. The servers were kind but the restaurant was a bit chilly. Overall I recommend and will be coming back!

They offer unique thai fusion brunch items & open for dinner, which I would totally come back to THAI that out next time. We tried a few popular dishes. sweet corn cake crab benedict - {poached eggs, crispy sweet corn cake, dungeness crab meat, hollandaise sauce, & potato wedges. Pretty unique I liked it. Real crab! "hat yai" fried chicken & vanilla waffle - {thai style fried chicken, vanilla waffle, & maple syrup} -- so gigantic! Waffle and chicken were both crispy and well seasoned. "jok" crispy pork belly porridge - {tom yum rice porridge with homemade crispy pork belly, poached egg, ginger, shiitake mushroom, green onions served with fried doughnut. Ooh very home-y and comforting. Game changer this tho wow!! Sooo good. bangkok golden - {thai stir fry with dungeness crab, shrimp, squid, scallops, house curry sauce with onions, bell peppers, eggs. Served with jasmine rice and house salad}. Lots of flavor!! Has a little bit of everything if you like seafood. Got some photogenic drinks as well, such as the Very berry mojito // Sunset at ka kiin. Staff were beyond hospitable. I loved it so much.

Came here for a girls brunch, super cute spot! Parking was a little hard to find in the area, but theres a long parking lot with lots of spots, might just have to walk a bit. The decor inside is very cute and all the dishes have good presentation. The jook was my personal favorite, lots of umami and very comforting. The drunken spaghetti was also a hit, pretty spicy but good! Unfortunately our steak was a little overcooked, but the sauce made up for it. The service was quick and friendly. They even remembered my friend, who's Thai and been there a few times, and gave us a free mango sticky rice dessert! Definitely would recommend if youre looking for a fun, Asian style brunch :)

I came here on a weekend evening and even though I was unable to try their brunch menu, their dinner selections still satisfied my cravings! The restaurant was quite full, but my friend and I were lucky to find seating right away. The portion sizes were generous for the dishes we ordered. Lazy Herbal Beef: This dish was rich and comforting. The beef was seasoned well and so tender, and it complemented the rice and egg that came in the dish. Rad Na: This was a unique dish that I've never tried, and I loved the rice noodles that went along with a slightly dense broth. There was a good ratio of seafood items to the noodles, which were soft and chewy. There is a wide variety of dishes that I would love to try for the future!

After searching for a new brunch spot to try, we decided on Kan Kiin and I'm so glad we did. The reviews and food photos looked amazing, so we had to check it out. We arrived around 10:30am and were seated immediately, even though the restaurant was already starting to fill up. We ordered the crispy pork belly porridge, steak and eggs, and the choco banana toast. Our favorite by far was the crispy pork belly porridge. It was comforting and full of flavor. The ginger and shiitake complimented the dish so well. I only wish there was more broth because it was that good. The steak and eggs came with thai basil fried rice, which I really enjoyed. The steak itself was slightly warm/cold and didn't quite standout. We also loved the choco banana toast, though we wished it was a bit more toasted for extra crunch but maybe it sat for too long. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely come back to try more dishes. The service was amazing as well, our waitress was very friendly and welcoming!

I heard so much hype about this place and was very excited to start the morning and my first meal with dining at Kan Kiin. Upon arrival, surprisingly, we were seated right away, and the space immediately felt warm and inviting. I really thought we were in for something special. FOOD: 7/10 SERVICE: 9/10 AMBIANCE: 10/10 FOOD/DRINK: 7/10 I went in excited, but honestly, the food ended up feeling a bit underwhelming. The menu is creative with Thai-inspired brunch dishes mixed with more traditional options. The dishes looked beautiful, and portions were solid, but the flavors didn't have the punch or depth I expected. Nothing was bad as everything was fine. But again...just fine. SERVICE: 9/10 The staff were the highlight of the experience. Super friendly, attentive without hovering, and genuinely warm. AMBIANCE: 10/10 This is where Kan Kiin truly shines. The moment you walk in, the space feels modern, calming, and thoughtfully put together. Soft lighting, clean lines, warm wood, and touches of greenery. If the food matched the vibe here, this would easily be a top-tier spot. EXTRA NOTES: -Beautiful interior...genuinely one of the best-designed casual spots in the area. -Portions are generous, and plating is polished. -Located in a Daly City strip-mall...so it is very chaotic (plan for that) Kan Kiin is a place I wanted to love, and in some ways, I did. Really good brunch spot with not too long of a wait if you're good about time. The service was really quick and food came out fast. I had the steak and eggs and it was probably some of the best I've had at an Asian spot. The rice was seasoned great and had a good spice to it, while my steak was a perfect medium rare. The matcha pancake was a hefty portion and was flavorful without being too sweet, which tends to be the problem with e a lot of matcha pancakes. Overall really tasty brunch and a good start to the day

We came here on a Sunday around 1030am for brunch for party of2. Put my name on the waitlist but table was ready immediately. Parking was difficult but we parked close to Home Depot and walked. I tried the berry thai iced tea. It was fruity with a strawberry jelly/puree in it. Wasn't super sweet which was good. The fried chicken and waffles had a fried chicken breast which was very nicely seasoned and juicy. Not dry at all. Waffle had a hint of vanilla and was average. Not super soft and not super crispy just right in the middle. Matcha pancake was surprisingly good. The match was more of a light syrup with match and not really a matcha sauce or creme. It was lightly sweet and matcha was not overpowering. Pancake was a regular pancake with probably some sort of matcha powder in the batter. Not heavy like mochi but a regular pancake. I liked the fruit on top also. Service was good and very fast. Decor was pretty and decorated with hearts for Valentine's Day.

Stopped by KAN KIIN for a weekday brunch and was pleasantly surprised. It's not your typical brunch spot -- more of a Thai-American fusion concept that feels creative but still comforting. My top dish was the Crispy Pork Belly Tomyum Porridge. It's rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced with a nice kick, plus the pork belly was incredibly crispy yet tender. Everything was beautifully presented and thoughtfully done. Weekday brunch felt relaxed with friendly service, which made the experience even better. Love seeing a unique brunch spot like this in Daly City. Definitely coming back to try more dishes (and dinner next time).

This was my first visit to Kan Kiin, and while I'd read mixed reviews beforehand, I went in with an open mind. The service was easily worth 5 stars! They were attentive, warm, and professional from start to finish. The food, however, didn't fully meet the expectations set by its Michelin Guide mention. The drinks were enjoyable, but the Tom Yum Juk with crispy pork belly had pork belly that wasn't crispy and had tough skin. The Hat Yai Fried Chicken and Waffles tasted fairly basic, and the Roti with Fried Bananas was soggy and much sweeter than expected, even for someone who enjoys sweets, I almost couldn't swallow it down. Overall, the dishes I tried were underwhelming, but with the excellent service and solid drinks I'd still recommend giving Kan Kiin a try. Your tastes might line up better with the menu offerings than mine did.

The cutest restaurant! I love the interior and the natural decor and shades of green. I've had this place bookmarked for some time already and I'm glad to have finally tried it! We were reading up on how busy it gets so we a little before opening. There was already a line forming. Just a heads up, there is no dedicated parking. We ended up parking a little down the street. There were too many things on the menu I wanted to try. I decided on the Bangkok Golden since I was feeling curry. I also order the green goddess mocktail. The food was amazing. I loved the flavors in the curry. The egg was minced up a bit which allowed it to soak in all the curry flavors. I loved it! I also tried some of the berry pancakes. They were so fluffy and light. I don't think I've ever had pancakes that thick and still be so light. I already told myself that I'm coming back to try another menu item and that might have to be some time soon

We dropped by on a Sunday morning and there was a wait, but it wasn't too bad. I'd say about 20 minutes. It's a small shop so be ready to wait outside until your table is ready. Workers were efficient and nice. We ordered the steak, eggs & rice, and the fried chicken Benedict. Both were really good. Steak was cooked well. Perfect comfort combination for my husband with the egg and rice. My Benedict was super tasty, but it's super heavy (obviously!) so I couldn't finish the whole thing in one sitting. The salad dressing was good and helped cut the heaviness of the fried chicken. Overall, we'd definitely come back!

I came here for brunch with my friends on a sat morning ! We came shortly after opening , parking is super limited so you'll prob have to park down the street and walk uphill . They don't seat until your entire party is there, and no reservations on the weekend . We ordered three items to share, matcha buttermilk pancake , pork belly eggs Benedict, Bangkok golden , Thai coffee , and lavender lemonade. I loved the Bangkok golden dish, it came with huge chunks of dungenness crab, fresh firm mussels , and the most yummy curry. The pork belly eggs Benedict came with a large piece of pork belly, I was expecting chunks but it was still very tasty . Come early and with your whole group so you can be seated quickly ! They get really packed on the weekend

Came here for dinner (not brunch) and I hear their brunch is better! We ordered the papaya salad, hat yai fried chicken, and steak fried rice. Everything felt overly greasy and super heavy - the fried chicken was verrry crispy on the outside while the meat near the bone was almost raw. The steak was also sadly tough/overcooked. Service was sweet!

This was delicious. We waited around 20min on Sunday at around 1pm. My favorites were the porridge and Benedict! This isn't your usual brunch place, the fusion works really well. Would definitely come back again and recommend to friends.

Came here for dinner and liked the taste, but the meat quality and texture was really terrible. :( I really wanted to like this place, I was super excited to try and I'm pretty bummed. The other reviews are so good maybe the chef that night really did not have any patience with the meat. The chicken laarb had some really, really hard to bite large chunks that weren't broken down... seemingly for good reason. Immensely tough. The green curry tasted fantastic, but the meat was incredibly chewy. I took it home to try and salvage the best I could, I really liked the taste. The bellpeppers and eggplant and bamboo shoots tasted so good. The Pad Thai with chicken were super dry and tough. I thought my parents were exaggerating when they said the chicken was tough, but I bit into it myself and had a really hard time. The Ka Pow was super yummy and did not really have the same issues as the others, which was what I expected for the other dishes. At least the place was pretty and neat, well decorated.

Service: Very busy when we went but service was great overall. Very attentive servers. I did order an extra dish to go midway through our meal but it seems like they forgot about it and had us waiting for 20 mins (after we completely finished our food). It's a bit of a shame we had to wait but I also understand since it was quite a busy at the time. Ambience: Props to the interior designers, very aesthetically pleasing restaurant, very lively atmosphere. Food: Great overall. Great portions. Food tastes great. Matcha pancakes are good portions and not overalls sweet nor does it lack any matcha flavor. My biggest critiques is that they don't actually cook pork belly claypot in the claypot. It's very noticeable that they cooked it in a separate pan before assembling it in the claypot so it doesn't have the layer of crispy rice at the bottom. The claypot easily became cold after a few mins after served, was unfortunately not hot nor warm at all unfortunately

I live close and was glad to find this gem. the service was amazing, and the food was DELICIOUS! I love pad thai so I was pleased. one of the best chucked pad thai noodles i've had. my bestie got the curry and it was sooo good. Plus the restaurant was beautiful inside, very intimate and cozy! I can't wait to return!

I would have preferred to give a 3.5, but I will never rate down. We had about an hour to an hour and a half wait time. It was a holiday, so everyone was off work. We asked for a high chair, we were forgotten about. Had to ask again. We placed our orders, food arrived. Our table of 3, had 1 fork. It took a good few minutes to be able to get someone's attention to be able to get more silverware. We ordered a lot of food because the reviews were so great, we wanted to try everything. I am personally not able to eat a lot, but still wanted to try things. Everything was pretty mediocre. The Benedict was probably the best thing. Maybe we ordered the wrong things? But besides the Benedict, it felt like the French toast and the chicken & waffle were just missing something to make them actually delicious. After we got our food, the servers never came back. We had to again wave them down to get our check. We didn't ask for boxes for the leftovers. 1, because the food we had wouldn't be good as leftovers. 2 because my friend is not a leftover person. They just left them sit in their fridge until it rots and it's time to throw it out lol But apparently the server asked if something was wrong with the food because we didn't ask for boxes? Anyway. The food was fine. But probably would never wait that long for it.

Kan Kiin does brunch right! The food was incredible! I took my kids back and they loved it! The service was amazing and the ambiance was great! I felt like was I on vacation! We will be back!

The food here is delicious! And the service is lightning speed fast. I would go again to try another dish for brunch because there are so many good (Thai-inspired) options. Beautiful restaurant with plenty of seating.

Terrible food, excellent service in a fast paced ambiance is how I can describe my experience at Kan Kiin. I was so excited to try this place after seeing their dishes on social media. My waitress Pauline was so kind and genuine. She was the highlight of my experience. The food looks better in pictures with its vibrant colors. The taste is a completely different story. I ordered the corn fritters, Lavender Lemonade, Matcha Pancakes, and Crab Eggs Benedict. The lavender lemonade was amazing. I thought it was setting the tone for what was to come. The Crab Eggs Benedict came out, which was supposed to be layered on a "sweet corn cake" but came on a corn fritter and soggy English muffin. I was deceived, since I already ordered the corn fritters which had no flavor and only bits of corn. As I'm eating my Crab Eggs Benedict, I noticed metal wire stuck inside the corn fritters right below the egg. I was turned off afterwards. Pauline came and apologized, even made a new one for me which I appreciated. Although it was a nice gesture, the crab eggs Benedict also had no flavor, not even in the hollandaise sauce. The matcha pancakes were dense and dry. The matcha syrup was decent. I started to look around, and I noticed they're catering to a much older crowd who probably can't have seasoning in their food. Nonetheless, the experience was left to be desired and the pictures of the food on TikTok and Instagram are deceptive at best. I had high expectations for this place, drove 90 minutes to get there. Only to be disappointed.
