Firstly - don't come here if you're in a rush. I read this in some of the reviews but definitely believe it. I came on a Tuesday night where there were only myself and one or two other parties in the food came out very slowly. I cannot imagine if it was a busy night. They also let me know 90 minutes so just be mindful of that. I ordered the premium experience which was an additional $20. It was memorable because the food quality is definitely higher for a all you can eat sushi place. You feel like you're at a real sushi restaurant and that you're eating high quality sushi. There's definitely suggest getting the premium Sushi items because they do seem like they are high-quality. Because I did not try the regular, I did not eat any of the regular items so I can't speak for any of those. However I did enjoy all the premium items and they were wonderful! Just like getting out of a high-quality sushi restaurant. I would definitely come back again and try this when I'm back in austin. Check out the pictures they speak for themselves

Kan Sushi has a nice-looking interior, but there are some important things people should know before going. On weekends, the all-you-can-eat menu is charged at dinner price even during lunch, which wasn’t very clear. Portions are quite small, which is actually nice if you want to try many items. Unfortunately, I got violently sick after eating only a few pieces and had to stop while still dining. The salmon in particular was extremely fatty and heavy. Because of that, I could only eat one round even though I paid for all-you-can-eat. As a Japanese person, I noticed menu largely leans more toward Americanized sushi, and there aren’t many rolls that focus on simple raw fish. Not many side dish choices unless you pay for premium which is extra $20. I also wouldn’t recommend the tempura as it was mostly batter with a very tiny shrimp inside. On top of that, the menu itself was very sticky, and the manager came off as a bit rude. Overall, the place looks good, but the food quality and experience didn’t match the price for me.

It's a Trap! Extremely disappointing and poor value. There are much better AYCE sushi options in Austin. Service: To be fair, the service itself was fine. Too many staff members stopped by our table, but everyone was nice and trying their best. Value and Quality: The biggest letdown was the feeling of a bait and switch and the overall poor value. The website and social media make the menu appear much more extensive than it actually is. In reality, you are offered a 40 dollar standard menu that is extremely limited, plus a 20 dollar upcharge to access the rest of the menu labeled premium. Even with the premium tier, many of the actual premium items are à la carte only. For 40 dollars you get a very weak roll selection, mediocre nigiri, and a handful of appetizers, some of which were decent. Dishes in the regular menu are overloaded with rice in what feels like a transparent attempt to fill you up cheaply. Fish quality is mediocre and on the lower end of average for AYCE in Austin. Rice quality in particular was below average. All sashimi and carpaccio are locked behind the 20 dollar upcharge. On top of that, all dessert is an additional charge even with the premium option, which further reinforces how poor the value is. Summary: Not worth your time or money. Austin has plenty of better AYCE sushi options. Better alternatives: Kyoka in Round Rock. Less expensive, better quality, and a stronger actual sushi selection though the overall menu is significantly smaller. My usual go to. Sushi Warriors. Similar price and quality but a far better selection. Machi Sushi. Similar price, equivalent quality, and significantly better variety. Sushi Junai. Lower price, better quality, and a more complete sushi experience.

I had the premium AYCE option. Most of the nigiri ordered were very tasty. The Kan Salmon however was disappointing. The standouts were the Ninja Tuna, Tuna Tataki, Snowflake Salmon, Truffle Salmon, Short Rib, and Freshwater Eel for nigiri. The Cajun Shrimp Udon Pasta was a very pleasant surprise, highly recommend. Also, the Galbi & Honey Soy Beef Belly from Gen KBBQ next door (included in AYCE) were great. Lastly, the Inari Eel & Aloha Fire Roll were both delicious. Service was prompt and amazing. Ask for Draven! He was an excellent server. The atmosphere here was very nice for a date. Nice dim lighting and well appointed, modern decor. Price was a bit high, but the quality reflected it. Noticeably higher quality than my previous go-to AYCE sushi spot Sushi Junai 2 despite the price gap. Overall, well worth the money and had a wonderful experience. Will likely be back soon.

I love leaving reviews for places I truly enjoy, and Kan Sushi definitely deserves one. The sushi buffet was great with plenty of fresh options, and everything tasted really good. The drinks were on point too. Our server was amazing, super attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience even better. Great food, great drinks, and great service. This is definitely a place I’ll be coming back to. Highly recommend!

I want to start by saying that the service from our actual server Tony was great. They were attentive, polite, and made sure our drinks and orders were taken care of quickly. The food itself was also good — fresh fish, well-made rolls, and nicely presented dishes. So in terms of quality and service from the waitstaff, I have no complaints. However, the experience was overshadowed by the manager Mel's attitude. When I tried to ask a simple question about the menu, she cut me off before I could even finish speaking. The interaction was abrupt enough that both I and the person I was dining with were caught off guard. It wasn’t a misunderstanding — it was rude, plain and simple. What made it worse is that when we mentioned the situation to our server (who was doing a great job), the manager didn’t come back to the table to clarify, apologize, or even acknowledge the situation. She just avoided the table entirely. It left a bad impression and honestly changed the tone of the entire visit. So while the food and regular staff were on point, the manager’s attitude made the experience uncomfortable enough that I’m not sure I’d return. A place can have good sushi, but if the management makes guests feel dismissed and unwelcome, that matters just as much.

First time at Kan and our expectations were exceeded. Went with the regular AYCE option on a Monday at 11:15AM. They have a “premium” option add-on for $20 more that we skipped. Regular included apps, some sushi, and some KBBQ choices. The mix was very good. They don’t overdo the rice which is nice. We only managed 2 of 3 rounds before filling up. Tony our server was attentive, prompt, and gave excellent insight to the various options.

We had a wonderful experience at Kan in Austin! The atmosphere was great, and the food did not disappoint. Everything we tried was delicious — we especially enjoyed the pasta and the variety of appetizers. What really made the night stand out was our waiter, Draven, who was extremely helpful, attentive, and made the experience fantastic from start to finish. Next time, we’re definitely going to try the premium option. Highly recommend!

This place is a cute all you eat sushi! It's order by the menu and the menu is truly extensive! I enjoyed their salmon Nigiri and galbi ribs! Please load up on that. The rest were good but depending on the rolls it was a hit or a miss for me. I didn't really enjoy the udon but I don't like sweet sauces. The service was prompt and the atmosphere is good. I would say this is good for big groups and chill dates, this isn't a fancy date place in my opinion. If I wanted unlimited nigiri I'll definitely be back!

I've been in twice now, and while I can see the potential -- both of my visits had clear issues, and it's hard to justify trying it further given the higher price point. They aren't very knowledgeable or trained with handling allergens, even though they say they accommodate them. I then had pacing issues, where it took a very long time for any sashimi to come out, but then almost too many orders showing up. It made it difficult to order the right amount, with how out of order and inconsistently paced the orders were. I also had a couple other issues like salmon coming out ice cold, and then the correction being dry and overdone. Many of the items I got were actually very good quality and beautiful, though. I still see the potential, if they could get their consistency down and their allergen knowledge up to speed.

Big swing and a miss. We came in with high hopes, but unfortunately left disappointed. To be fair, there were a few bright spots, the beef bulgogi was flavorful, the shrimp tempura was crisp and light, and the salmon bites were tasty. That said, we did not order from the premium menu, and based on our experience, we won't likely be returning. The real issue was the service. Our server carried a combative attitude toward other tables, and at one point pulled a coworker over right beside us to chastise him. Having that kind of exchange hovering over your meal is extremely uncomfortable. These matters should be handled privately, not in front of guests trying to enjoy dinner. Also, please note not all menu options posted online are available here (hand rolls, negitoro, etc.) Good food can't quite make up for poor hospitality and in Austin's dining scene, that's enough to send us looking elsewhere.

A good value at both lunch and dinner AYCE prices. You get a variety of items at Kan Sushi for your money. You can get rolls, inari, hot appetizers, noodles, nigiri, and Korean bbq. I especially liked how you can get galbi from the dinner menu. Everything is served tapas style and so the fear of over ordering and getting charged for waste is minimal. For example a serving of 2pcs of nigiri is more like 1pc. The rolls are 4pc rolls. The appetizers come in 2 or 4 etc. I didn't quite like the nigiri here at all. Just didn't taste that fresh to me. I did enjoy everything else. Ordering is easy they give you a big book with pictures of everything. You mark on the sheet what you want and once they get your order they circle the items they received and you get the sheet back for the next round. Food comes as soon as it's ready with the sushi items coming out sooner than the others. Though it was off to me that the miso soup came towards the end. I did order a mixed cocktail and you pay for that separately from the food which made checkout a little extra. The place looks nice inside with a dark interior. Though kind of dated. Will I go again? Perhaps if I'm looking for kbbq and sushi in AYCE option but I find I can just go to south Austin to Buffet Palace and get a similar offering.

Meh. I'll start by saying the rolly polly roll was delicious. We ordered like 8 of them. Except when one came out with cream cheese instead of crab on accident, I almost vomited. I hate cream cheese. The rest of the fish was just not good. It was nice the rice to fish ratio much more fish but it would have been nice if the fish tasted better. The portions were also very small. Dessert and drinks are not included in AYCE, drinks were expensive $15+. Maybe I'll try this place again the longer it's around. Probably not!

Kan Sushi has become my favorite AYCE (All-You-Can-Eat) sushi place in town! I used to go to Machi Sushi (located in southern Austin), but after this place opened and trying it a couple of times now, I personally think the seafood is more fresh here! I particularly like the fact that the sashimi slices are surprisingly thick and the rice to seafood ratio on the nigiri items is incredible (i.e. more protein than rice). Although you have to pay an additional $20 for the premium menu (which comes with the carpaccio sushi, sashimi, premium rolls and appetizers, and even Korean BBQ dishes), I think it's definitely worth the extra cost! I understand that there have been mixed reviews about the service and accuracy but thankfully, the waiters have been very attentive both times that I've been there. If you're a bit hesitant because of the mixed reviews, then I recommend coming for lunch (the prices are cheaper) so that you can feel out the place without committing to a higher price tag! Some of my favorite dishes here include: Truffle Salmon (Nigiri), Yellowtail and Tuna Carpaccio, Salmon Sashimi, Hamachi Kama (Appetizer), Salmon Kama (Appetizer), Calamari (Fried Squid), Galbi, and the Beef Bulgogi!

$28 lunch weekday pricing-- their nigiris and rolls are decent for the price; better than junai-- quick and attentive service and large space. The fish isn't the top quality but decent for sushi buffet and the rice to fish ratio is really incredible!

I would say this is definitely the best AYCE sushi spot in Austin, but be mindful that AYCE sushi can really only be so good. I think the price is ridiculous (paid almost $80 with tax and tip), so that alone does not warrant another visit. The concept of AYCE is really nice, but with such a large menu that promises a lot of higher end pieces, our orders were so backed up. At that point, we couldn't remember what had come and what hadn't and at the end, we were so overwhelmed with so many new plates because we were on our third round of ordering and the first round hadn't fully come yet. Again, in concept, it's super nice but in execution when the team is having to make a million tiny plates... it falls flat. Everything across the board is pretty hit or miss. The plates that were good were really good and the plates that were bad were really bad. The sashimi tasted and looked really strange. There's also something they call Kan Sushi, and the color just doesn't look right. One of my friends was the only one courageous enough to try it, and he said there was a very strange coating on the fish. The vibes are really nice and it's owned by the same restaurant group as Gen, which happens to be right next door. I like that they offer KBBQ plates as well as sushi plates. Would I come back again? Probably not... for $80, I think my money is better spent elsewhere.

Austin doesn't have a lot of AYCE sushi spots, but this one would definitely be considered one of the better ones. Decent quality (as good as AYCE sushi can get), large menu, but pricy for what it is - even as AYCE. For dinner, it's $38.95/person - and that's without the +$20/person add on for "premium" menu items. Lunch is about $10 cheaper and if I ever revisited I'd probably stick to the lunch price, as I don't think the dinner price is worth it for me. The most value for your money is obviously in the sushi, but the hot apps and other menu items were pretty good. Service can vary. Since we arrived before the dinner rush (and dined on a weeknight), our food came out pretty quickly. Their paper system isn't the best, but it's not terrible as long as your server is attentive. Toward the end as it got busier, the wait time for food grew longer. Overall, I thought the sushi rolls were good and the nigiri just okay. For the price point I'd rather dine at a higher quality sushi spot and just pay for better fish bites, but I don't think it's that bad if you know what you're in for and just want the AYCE experience.

Good service, very friendly young woman at the host, really pleasant experience. Busy but still managed to secure a comfortable booth to myself. delicious food, and I did do the all you can eat with the special it was really good. The drink was really fresh as well.

Newer AYCE sushi spot in Austin that plankton is the best in town. I liked it better than bang bang or Junai. Lots of seating inside, and you can choose between regular price or premium which adds $20 per person but gives you a larger selection to choose from. Honestly I think just the regular Definitely no need to over order as you have 90 minutes, but I will say the nigiri pieces are on the smaller side. Our favorites were the salmon and pepper salmon nigiri, the udon pasta, and the shrimp nigiri. Definitely worth trying out if you're into AYCE sushi.

We tried Kan Sushi last night after seeing some of y'all's reviews, and we were pleasantly surprised. Pricing: * Regular Lunch: $28.95 | Regular Dinner: $38.95 * Premium Upgrade: +$20 per person * A La Carte: Uni ($11.95 for 2 pcs), A5 Wagyu Nigiri ($13.95 for 2 pcs), A5 Wagyu Grill ($35.95), and desserts Since we're not big AYCE sushi people, we opted for premium and compared a few regular menu items. The difference was clear--premium actually tastes like normal sushi, not the usual dry, gummy buffet-style fish. The sushi keeps coming, so I'd recommend eating as you go to enjoy it fresh. What we had: * Fatty Cuts: Snowflake Salmon, Truffle Salmon, Short Rib, Ikura * Leaner Cuts: Carpaccio, which had a cleaner taste * Soft Shell Crab: Fresh, not canned, and generously portioned * Takoyaki: Flavorful with real squid pieces * Udon Pasta: No idea what was in it, but it tasted amazing--almost like pizza sauce * Inari Unagi (Eel Tofu Pockets): Obsessed with these! Sweet, savory, and just incredibly delicious * Prime Cut Nigiri (Regular Menu): The only thing we didn't like--tough meat and overpowered by teriyaki sauce The pieces were small because they didn't overload the rice like most AYCE spots. In most cases, there was more fish than rice, which is respectable--you can just order more. A5 Wagyu Grill ($34.95) The A5 Wagyu was buttery and rich but a bit tricky to cook. You need to balance not overcooking it while ensuring the fat renders properly. We first grilled one cube at a time but quickly realized it's best to cook them all at once before the flame dies down. Dessert - Great Texture & Fresh The Hōkkien (Hokkein) Mochi with Matcha Ice Cream was a standout. The mochi had an amazing crunchy-chewy texture, perfectly sweet without being overpowering, while the ice cream was smooth, creamy, and not bitter at all--a perfect way to end the meal. Service - Excellent because Corp Service was top-notch, likely due to the corporate crowd. Our waiter was a lead trainer, and even the managers and president stopped by tables. They were so attentive that if they saw me even thinking about taking a photo, they scattered and welcomed me to do so. It's like the opposite of paparazzi for them! Final Verdict - With premium and a la carte upgrades, the price adds up. I didn't like the regular dishes we ordered. So it comes down to relatively whether you want to have tons of variety or not. If you're looking for the best AYCE sushi experience right now, I think this is it imo.

Overall, I'm really impressed with Kan Sushi. There aren't many great AYCE (All You Can Eat) sushi spots in Austin, and after trying them all, Kan Sushi stands out as the best for the price. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the fish and the generous portion sizes. We sampled a bit of everything, and the rice-to-fish ratio was just right--they don't load you up with rice and skimp on the fish like many other places. The rolls were also surprisingly good, each with its own distinct flavor. As an extra treat, the manager generously offered us some Bluefin Tuna Sashimi--an off-menu item--which was absolutely delicious. Hands down, Kan Sushi has the freshest fish of any AYCE sushi spot in Austin. As a Korean, I found the Korean food options to be what you'd expect for Austin. They're not the most authentic, but they're decent and still enjoyable. Since it was our first visit, we opted for the regular AYCE option instead of the premium, thinking we'd upgrade next time if we liked it--and we definitely will. The regular menu had plenty of variety and we left feeling completely satisfied. The staff were all friendly, attentive, and clearly hard-working. I appreciated how the servers helped one another, making sure every table was taken care of promptly. It was clear they understood what it takes to run a smooth restaurant operation. The lighting was a bit dim, similar to a steakhouse vibe, but honestly, I stopped noticing once the food arrived--it was that good.

If you actually enjoy sushi, SKIP Kan Sushi. With the latest AYCE trend on the rise, I wanted to give Kan a try, especially considering the only other locations Kan Sushi has are located in Miami and Honolulu. The Standard ($38.95) and Premium menus both offer Korean BBQ options, but in my opinion, the premium's extra charge (+$20) wasn't worth it--especially since neither menu offers raw fish in their rolls. Instead, you'll find various renditions of tempura, imitation crab, &/or spicy tuna rolls. Outside of the carpaccio offerings on the premium menu, there wasn't anything that would convince me otherwise to spend the extra money. To order, you'll be given a form with a golf pencil where you can select your offerings from there. I ordered green tea, miso soup, and a variety of sushi pieces along with two rolls. When my food arrived, my disappointment only grew. If you're a fan of green tea, don't bother--it's served from a tea bag. As for the miso soup, it was lukewarm, not even close to the temperature that touches your soul. I was starving, so I didn't bother complaining, unlike the table next to me. They had to reorder their soup three times, left rolls untouched, and were so clearly distraught that it only made me feel more tense. The only redemption for both parties was the salmon sushi, which featured a thick cut of salmon atop a small bed of rice. Given the better AYCE options nearby, I'd recommend passing on this one.

OMG !!! AYCE Sushi for $26 !!!! It was fresh, delicious, quality sushi. They have a wide variety of options including appetizers. The service was great and the ambiance is very relaxing. My coworker and I were first timers but we will be back for sure !!!

We arrived at Kan Sushi around 1:30 on a weekday. There was a short wait (cool, expected), but while standing there, I should've paid more attention to the swirling chaos happening in the tiny front area. It was giving "we just opened five minutes ago and lost our whole staff, and we have no clue what we are doing here" energy. After 15 minutes, we're seated and handed a form to fill out--with "levels" of menus. We wisely chose to stay at Level 1 (aka: baller on a budget), because we like to sample before spending upper-level cash. Spoiler: thank goodness we did. We ordered a solid variety: Edamame (easy win, right?) - Safe. You'd have to try hard to mess this up. Truffle fries - Cold. Sad. Possibly an ancient artifact. Hard pass. Deep fried squid - Genuinely awful. Tasted like it had been cooked in 1997 and reheated for our visit. Korean chicken wings - we thought they had forgotten these, but they arrived at the very end, like a dramatic plot twist... written badly. No awards here. Tiger Roll, Dragon Roll, Bonnie & Clyde, Salmon Skin, Bacon Pork Belly, Beef Bulgogi - Let's just say... HEB sushi tastes better, and I don't even like HEB sushi. That's how uninspired these were. Salmon, albacore, and tuna sushi - this was all "ok" On the service side, things got even more surreal. We were halfway through our food before water even made an appearance. No one offered us drinks, asked if we wanted anything else - it was weird. Waters went empty and stayed empty. The food came out in random waves--some dishes we didn't even order (???), some came twice, and most were lukewarm at best. Our server was a mess and just completely missed the mark on the entire "service" aspect. Eventually, I just stood up, walked over to our server not he other side of the restaurant, and said, "We're done. Please cancel anything else heading our way." I've never done that at a restaurant before. It felt like I was breaking up with a toxic situationship. My final recommendation? Kan, baby, I want to see you win, but please get a new system. Train your staff. Organize your flow. And for the love of all things raw and rolled, serve food that didn't spend time in the microwave first. Would I go back? No.

Kan Sushi takes the title of best AYCE sushi in Austin for me. I went during lunch hours on a Monday for the cheaper price ($27 for lunch prices but it doesn't include Friday and weekends, regular price is $39. +$20 for premium option which includes more options and sashimi) we ordered the regular option. After tip and tax, it was around $34 so definitely great value! Unlike a lot of other AYCE places, the ratio of fish to rice is great. Each piece is tiny and they take a while to come but for the quality of fish, it is super worth it.

I went to Kan Sushi today for dinner. We decided to get the premium all you can eat option because I really wanted to try the fancy nigiri. It ended up costing a lot more than I was expecting. But I do think the quality was worth it. We ordered a lot of food on the first round because we were super hungry. We got so full though that we didn't even order a second round. My favorite thing was definitely the truffle salmon nigiri. It was really good and tasted super fresh. I also really liked the beef belly it was very flavorful. The udon soup was also really good and fresh. Everything came out pretty fast even though we ordered a lot at once. Our waiter was nice and helpful. The restaurant was fancier than I was expecting. I thought the food was pretty good for all you can eat but definitely expensive.

Let's start with the fish at Kan Sushi is one of the more fresh sushi spots in ATX. I will say in general the food was very good from the fries, takoyaki, different assortment of rolls, and the sashimi, everything was pretty tasty. My least favorite of the food has to be the ribeye sushi pieces, which were cold, and honestly pretty gross to eat, besides this everything was pretty good. Service wise everything was good, it was a little hard to understand some explanations from our waiter. It was pretty loud, and they spoke pretty quietly so we had to ask them to repeat their comments a bunch of times. I think the reason why I couldn't give 4 stars on this was the waste of some of the sashimi we got, which was "complimentary", and even though we let the waiter know we weren't to interested in eating Tuna, they still continued to bring out extra pieces of Tuna. We commented a couple of times that we weren't going to eat it, and instead of not including it the next time, it was right there sitting on our next sashimi plate. I hate wasting food, and we always do our best to finish everything on our plate/what we ordered. But the fact Kan Sushi was okay with us wasting this fish was a little disappointing. I am sure I'll be back hopefully they change their policy with giving extra food in the future.

Pretty solid place for AYCE sushi! I was surprised about the quality of the fish. Pretty decent. My favorite nigiri was actually the scallop! I am usually not a fan of seared salmon or tuna but their truffle nigiri was pretty good. Loved the sashimi plate. The baked mussels were excellent. Perfect flavoring and combination of sweet and savory. We came with a big group and our waiter Anthony was wonderful. He went above and beyond to make sure our needs were met. I would definitely come back with a smaller group so we can order in a more controlled environment lol forgot to note that their bbq dishes were very flavorful as well! Definitely recommend the galbi.

Pretty good quality sushi for an all you can eat place. Especially for the price. (Unlike the one sushi place with the conveyor belts that I shall not name ) The standard has more than enough good choices. You get limited 1.5 hrs a session (1 hr when it's busy, like Mother's Day) but that's more than enough. The rolls come in 4 an order so you can try more of everything. I wouldn't get the k bbq options that just cause it was not as good as the sushi. Or server was nice and fast. When you are done you can cancel all queued up orders.

Came here for a Saturday AYCE lunch for ~$40. Overall, it's probably more of a 3.5 but I'm going to round down because service was a bit slow. There were some items we ordered that never came and we ended up just leaving instead of waiting. For the food itself... The fish quality was hit or miss. The first round of salmon was great but then in following rounds, the tuna and yellowtail looked kind of sad. I surprisingly enjoyed the rolls more than the sushi (except for the Krazy Krab which honestly made me gag... butter doesn't really belong on sushi...) Outside of sushi, I enjoyed the option to have Korean BBQ. The pork bulgogi and honey soy beef belly were good but the galbi was unfortunately dry.

Kan Sushi blew me away--honestly one of the best sushi spots I've been to, hands down. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. This place goes above and beyond in quality, variety, and experience. We did the all-you-can-eat (AYCE) dinner and it was 100% worth it. Every dish came out fresh and beautifully plated, and the fish quality was top notch for AYCE. Favorites were the truffle salmon sushi, hamachi kama (order early--it sells out!), and the spicy beef gyoza. Even the appetizers like takoyaki and miso eggplant were . Nothing felt rushed or "mass produced" like some other AYCE places. Service was stellar. Our server checked in often, made great recommendations, and everything came out fast despite being busy. The vibe is sleek and modern, but still warm and welcoming. Bonus: parking was super easy since they've got a lot--huge win in Austin. If you're looking for a sushi spot that's both a splurge and a steal (trust me, you're getting your money's worth), Kan is the move. I'll be dreaming of that truffle salmon until I come back.

Some really good sushi! After scouting all the AYCE spots in Austin, we decided to visit Kan and purchase their premium set for $60 a person. Although I think jt is kind of expensive, I think it's worth it if you're in Austin. I absolutely loved the fish to rice ratio! I have never seen a AYCE or high end sushi spot with this ratio and think this is how it should be! The Hamachi Kama was my favorite dish, perfectly cooked and soft practically melting in your mouth. The soft shell crab is a great add on to the menu but the sauce that paired with it was too salty. The carpaccio offered was also a highlight, the toppings and sauce that paired with the Tuna, Salmon, and Yellowtail was flavorful and actually had us preferring it over the sashimi. The BBQ items are also the meat staples from GEN which were good. I do also think that if you're paying for premium, there shouldn't be a limitation on any items to order and that dessert should be included. I had a great experience, service was welcoming and nice and the interior design and elevated vibe of the place adds to it. Overall, 8.5/10.

Upon entering, my party was greeted promptly by the host. The decor is very modern and clean. We ate the AYCE premium sushi buffet selection, where I only paid the $20 add on for premium because the regular buffet does not have sashimi- so $68 total. $68 is kind of expensive for a sushi buffet but this place might be worth it. Kan is right next to Gen, where the regular sushi buffet does include Korean bbq option suchas Galbi. The premium also offer premium nigiri options that make the premium price worth considering. My highlight ls include the soft shell crab, the Kan special, galbi, and Japanese scallop. I'll definitely be back.

Exciting to have another AYCE sushi spot in Austin! We've been eagerly awaiting Kan Sushi's opening, and it definitely did not disappoint. The menu featured a solid variety of sushi rolls, sashimi, appetizers, and even some Kan BBQ dishes. The sushi was fresh, and I appreciated the generous fish-to-rice ratio, which really enhanced the flavor. The food came out quickly, and the service was top-notch--attentive and patient throughout. Interior space was clean, inviting, and nicely designed. Thank you to all the sushi chefs, managers, and servers for providing an excellent experience and for staying late so we could finish up.

I came around 9 pm and was quickly seated. We paid for premium which included the common sashimi like salmon, yellowtail, tuna etc. I enjoyed the selections that the premium all you can eat provided and tried the fried soft shell crab, deep fried oyster, carpaccio and more. I also asked them to seared the scallops and it just melts in your mouth like butter. I love it! Overall, this place is pricey at $60 per person for dinner but their food was really good and quality. They don't try to overwhelm you with rice like the other places. One downside is that it took a lot of time in between to prep the food each round.

Just don't. This place is overpriced, badly run, and a hygiene risk. I'm warning you: skip Kan Sushi. The service is chaotic, the food handling is questionable, and for what they charge, it's honestly kind of insulting ($38 dinner price +$20 premium price. Otherwise no sashimi). 1. First round took 90 mins -- and felt rigged We ordered a full first round, but only got part of it. After finishing what they brought, our server asked if we "still wanted the rest" (which was part of the original order). Only then did the kitchen start making the rest. Sushi came first, sashimi at the very end -- felt like they were trying to fill us up early. 2. Sashimi requires "manager approval"? Over an hour in, we asked about our sashimi and got told they needed manager approval to serve it. It's all-you-can-eat -- why is that even a thing? 3. They tried to take back food we already touched Dishes kept getting mixed up. At one point, they dropped off sashimi, someone at our table started eating it, then the server came back and tried to take it back to another table. That's just nasty. 4. Found plastic in our sushi -- and they didn't care We literally found a piece of plastic wrap inside a roll. Showed it to the manager -- he brushed it off, then blamed a "trainee." No apology, no ownership, just took one person off the bill like that made it okay. Eating plastic in raw fish is not a small thing. 5. Whole service vibe = chaos Nobody seemed to know what they were doing. Communication was awful. And for the price? Definitely not worth it.

All you can eat sushi that you can add $20 per person i order premium order. I went with my husband we did premium. I tried premium section all so good. They made high quality like they said. I got very nice service from them. everyone comes to take care of us. Ambiance is clean and classy. No disappointment.

I enjoyed my visit to Kan Sushi. The interior design is neat and open. The server was very nice to us and checked in to see when we wanted to order more dishes. The quality of the food was decent. Some sushi rolls looked clumsy and the rice was overcooked and gratuitous, but the sauce was tasty and the seafood was fresh. I recommend the nigiri because the the rice to seafood proportion was perfect. A few hot items I ordered never came out, but I was so full from sushi that I was relieved that they forgot. I believe some management stopped by our table and asked how we were doing, they were friendly.

There must be some kind of "influencers get the good stuff and we hide it when normal people walk in" program because all of their social media interactions and marketing look amazing, but on our visit everything we ordered across every part of the menu was fishy, burnt or the wrong order all together. We saw our server a total of 3 times in 2 hours, received the wrong order 3 times, and decided to pay and leave without many of our ordered items regardless of the premium pricing because we knew it wouldn't be a standard that matched the price. This place has a lot to work on all across the board from service to organization and food quality.

Came to check out the All You Can Eat Sushi restaurant where my Best friend works at! First time here and they was very welcoming, great atmosphere, and fantastic service! The Food had Multiple Multiple Layers of Flavors, just burst in your mouth all at once The best way I could describe how Delicious it was. 2 of the the rolls I didn't like as much but overall, I left with a Full, Happy Tummy. Definitely worth coming back again and try the others I didn't have room for.

Came here during lunch and I would say it's definitely worth the price of $27 AYCE. The nigiri was good quality for AYCE. It had a very generous amount of fish with little rice. You would think these places fill it with rice but this place doesn't do that! They also have a little kbbq section where they cook the meat for you, which I thought was very cool! And it was delicious! Definitely check this place out!

The best AYCE sushi in austin, by far. I have been to Kan maybe 20 times and love the ambiance, interior design, service, and of course the sushi. It's always incredibly fresh and they clearly take a lot of pride in the quality and selection of their fish. I think the AYCE pricing matches the food quality, service, and ambiance well. Will be back again.

The first time I came here I really enjoyed my experience, the food was good, servers were fast and it wasn't too busy during lunch on a Saturday. The second time I came in (two weeks later) at 9pm on a Sunday (it wasn't too busy and they close at 11pm). Our server was not very attentive and left towards the end of their shift and it seemed like no one was aware that they had our table after. We didn't get our miso soup until the end after reminder our server and the food came out very slow. We were there for 1.5 rounds (they made us half our orders since they didn't want to back up their kitchen) for 2 hours. By the time we got out second(ish) round, we were over waiting and decided to leave. They also were rationing the wasabi and ginger since they said they were running out... at a sushi restaurant I would hope they would always have it in stock. Overall, not sure if I will be coming back here. This second time visiting was not the best and not sure if I want to sit around waiting for 2 hours for ayce when I can go elsewhere for a more reliable experience.

I was just not overly impressed. The quality of the fish and meat was not very high. I question if the bulgogi was actually meat. I also noticed that the sushi was served on a warm plate. The service was outstanding and the price was reasonable. I think paying the extra 20 might be worth it. I will give it another try for sure. Nice ambiance with lots of customers-

Preface this review as compared to other ayce sushi places. This is actually 3.5 but since they're new giving more time to work on things. Started out great, decently fast service, rolls and sushi were quite good! Appetizers were slow though. As the meal went on things gradually got worse. The sushi was less nice? As if they start with higher quality or better looking cuts and as you order more it gets worse? The service started to decline as well. Less attentive and everything started taking forever. We eventually just paid and left without getting our last rolls as we needed to be somewhere. We were already seated for 1.5 hours but we were not eating the entire time since everything started taking a long time. They were way less busy by the time we left too so it was puzzling. All in, I would say if you're willing to drive south of the river, Machi sushi is better for the same price. We went Saturday lunch and they require dinner menu... Machi also has sashimi as an option and they are very fast. Ambiance as kan is good, casual, decently spacious but I'd like them to work on things before going back

Nice looking restaurant and very friendly help. I love sushi rolls and was excited to try out Kan. The rolls were so so bland and tasteless. I've had many sushi rolls from NJ to CA and now in TX and I can say this is the only plac where I totally disliked the food. I actually took home the leftovers and when I tried it the next day I had to throw it all away. SHAME!! Don't you taste what you serve? UGH!

Lunch price supposed to be 26, but it's Veteran's day so for a holiday they said they're charging $38 all day. V odd to do, definitely call before if you're wanting lunch here to confirm price.

I have been to this place three times. The service is always a hit or miss here depending on how busy they are. All the food we have ordered tasted really good and fresh especially their sushis. If you like to spend extra, I would definitely recommend getting their premium. My favorite were the truffle salmon and their sashimis. I also like the fried squid and baked mussels. The interior design looks really great!

10/10 would recommend KAN to anyone wanting a great AYCE experience. The food is excellent and the servers are always on point. I recommend upgrading to the premium menu to elevate your experience!!!! Will be making this my main sushi spot in Austin!

Great quality sushi and lots of options. The service was great, constantly checked in on and Fabian was attentive. Bonus points - the music was an added nice touch that made lunch even more enjoyable. Overall, highly recommend.
