Kantýna is one of those Prague spots you end up returning to again and again, especially if you enjoy a good drink and genuinely high-quality meat. It was recommended to me by a local friend when I first arrived in Prague, and since then it has been my go-to whenever I’m craving something straightforward, satisfying, and consistently great.
The ordering process felt unusual to me at first. Once you understand how it works, it becomes very easy, and it lets you focus on enjoying the atmosphere and your time there.
As for what to order, the must-haves are the tartare and any beef steak. I’ve tried a lot of what they offer, but my favorite cut is still the T-bone, as you can see in the photos. I’ve also tried a few desserts, and while they are fine, the real reason to come here is the meat. If you’re a meat lover, you honestly can’t go wrong. Try as many cuts and options as you can.
A lot of people go for the burgers. They’re not really my thing, but they are decent taste-wise and definitely popular for a reason.
Overall, Kantýna is an easy recommendation. Great quality, a unique but simple ordering setup once you get the hang of it, and some of the best beef I’ve had in Prague.
