Best Thai Restaurants in D.C. | Eater DC

"Though most restaurants in Falls Church’s bustling Eden Center are Vietnamese, Kao Sarn’s street food offerings are an exception. Find strong renditions of dishes like boat noodle soup, sun-dried beef, and crab fried rice; there’s also a substantial selection of vegan dishes." - Missy Frederick

Engaging Ahso Is Worth the Drive, Says Washingtonian - Eater DC

"Northern Virginia Magazine contributor Rina Rapuano praises the Thai restaurant for its amazing aroma of fish sauce, garlic, and fresh herbs. Chef Arin Lapakulchai makes well-executed versions of Thai classics. Highlights include chicken curry puffs, spicy green papaya salad, creamy-centered eggplant stir-fried with ground pork and basil in garlic-chili sauce, and spicy Chinese broccoli with crispy pork belly in a rich brown sauce. The option of a fried egg on top is recommended." - Tierney Plumb

This place is a bit tucked away in a small alley near some Vietnamese shops, so it might be a little hard to spot at first. But once you find it, Kao Sarn Thai Street Food is a hidden gem. It’s a small Thai street food spot with limited seating, but the food more than makes up for it. I’ve been here many times but never got around to writing a review. I usually end up ordering the same things, especially the Sukhothai noodles, which are hard to find in this area. They always taste just right — flavorful and comforting. This time I also had Yen Ta Fo, chicken satay, and the fried fish with chili sauce (Pla Rad Prik). Everything was delicious. If you’re nearby and craving authentic Thai food, this place is definitely worth checking out. Just keep in mind it’s a small and cozy spot.

Google
A friend recommended this restaurant, so we decided to try it for lunch. The food came out quickly. It was flavorful, but the portions were on the smaller side. The Pad Thai had only about three shrimp, and the crispy pork belly didn’t have much pork either. We probably won’t return.

Food is always delicious and made with care, plus the service is great! This is a go-to spot for tasty Thai food.

Google
This place is a keeper. I’ve tried many Thai restaurants and this one is definitely a stand out. The food is consistently delicious. There’s plenty of free parking in large parking lot and you’ll have to go in to the building to find this place. There’s not much seating but I’ve never had a problem getting a table. The service is good and the environment is much like you’d find in Thailand. Don’t expect a traditional restaurant experience. A strong recommendation is the drunken noodle (one of favorites), although everything is delicious. I had drunken noodle this last time while my wife had kapow stir fried and my son the basil fried rice.

Avoid at All Costs – This is Not Thai Food If you’re looking for authentic Thai cuisine, Kao Sarn Thai Street Food in Falls Church is the last place you want to visit. Let’s start with the papaya salad—or whatever they tried to pass off as one. This wasn’t Som Tum. It was plain shredded papaya soaked in fish sauce and sugar. No chili, no lime, no vibrance. Just a soggy, foul mess. Don’t be fooled by the name. Then came the chicken skewers. Dry, flavorless, and borderline inedible. I don’t know how you ruin grilled chicken, but they found a way. The coconut ice cream was next. Except it wasn’t ice cream. After 30 minutes sitting out, it didn’t melt—not even a little. That’s not a dessert, that’s a synthetic science experiment gone wrong. Then there was the khao soi chicken—which was nothing more than coconut milk with a hint of spice and zero complexity. The chicken thigh was bone-dry, which is the opposite of what it should be when simmered in curry. Whoever made this dish clearly has no connection to real Thai cuisine. To round out the disaster, we ordered the mango sticky rice, a dish so foundational that most Thai restaurants get it right in their sleep. But not here. The rice was soggy and way too sweet. The “coconut sauce” tasted like it was scooped straight out of a can without any preparation. It was insulting. I’ve had Thai food at over 300 restaurants. This is hands down one of the worst meals I’ve ever had. Calling this “Thai street food” is not only misleading—it’s an embarrassment. The chef either doesn’t care or doesn’t know what they’re doing. Either way, they should not be behind the scenes at a restaurant claiming Thai authenticity. Do yourself a favor: skip this place. You won’t miss anything but disappointment.

Google
This is one of those rare gems that knocked my socks off. It’s a hole in the wall type of restaurant with totally delicious food, friendly and accommodating service, and sensible pricing. I ordered the S2 Kao Soi Curry Chicken Noodle Soup and the spice level was strong (they were able to actually meet my request for extra spicy!) I look forward to returning and trying more of the menu.

I think this is my new favorite Thai spot in Virginia! Everything from food to service was amazing. It’s located inside Eden center and we were seated right away. We started with the papaya salad and chicken satay. Both were delicious, and I loved the sauce on the papaya salad. I also got the Thai iced tea with milk and the pad see ew with chicken for my entree. I did a medium spice level and it was perfect. The portion was also big enough that I had a lot leftover for a later meal. For dessert we shared the mango lover dessert which was a mango sticky rice with coconut ice cream and the mango mousse cake which was also so good! Other entrees our group ordered was the pad Thai with shrimp and drunken noodles with chicken. Everyone loved their food and we definitely will come back soon!

Google
Second time getting drunken noodle here and is really good! The red curry chicken noodle soup was good as well. Loved the crispy noodles on top! The owner was really attentive and sweet, and food came out super quick. Amazing prices too (both dishes ended up totaling only ~30)

Yelp
Amazing Thai food in a small little shop located within Eden Center!! As it's a small shop, there is not too much seating within the restaurant and limited seating outside the restaurant. Service was attentive and food came out quickly. We tried the papaya salad, kao soi curry chicken noodle soup, pad Thai, and pad se-ew. Papaya salad was solid, it was spicy and tangy. It was nice and refreshing side to eat along our noodle dishes. Papaya salad and all the other dishes can be adjusted to your preferred spice level. Kao soi curry chicken noodle soup was great as well. I feel like the curry soup is a bit reminiscent of Vietnamese curry I've had but all of the ingredients that a Kao soi curry chicken noodle soup normally has. The fried noodles and the normal noodles on the bottom soak in the soup well. The pickled mustard greens adds a nice crunch and depth of flavor as you enjoy the dish. If you are not looking to eat it with chicken, it can be subbed with tofu. In regard to the pad Thai, my friend ordered and he said it was pretty good. For the pad se-ew, I tried a little bit of it from my friend's plate. The wok hei of it was incredible. It's hard to explain but it's like a really good char flavor. I would definitely order this again if I was in the area!!!

Yelp
GREAT THAI STREET FOOD: I'm a huge fan of Kao Soi and order it everywhere I find it. After trying it here, I can confidently say--this is the best Kao Soi I've had so far! The broth is rich and flavorful, with the perfect balance of creaminess, spice, and deep umami. The tender noodles and crispy fried noodles on top add amazing texture, making every bite unforgettable. This tiny hole-in-the-wall inside the mall (with no external windows) might be easy to overlook, but once you step inside, you'll fall in love. It's an authentic Thai street food gem, serving bold, fresh flavors. The Pad Thai is well-balanced and not overly sweet, the Green Curry is creamy and aromatic, and the Sun-Dried Beef is a fantastic snack--savory, slightly chewy, and packed with flavor. If you're craving real Thai street food, this spot is an absolute must-visit!

Yelp
They say they provide a street food experience and I would say they are spot on. This is a hole in the wall restaurant deep inside a largely Vietnamese shopping mall. Make your way past the shop selling plastic flowers, and trees. There is additional picnic table seating under the atrium in front of the restaurant They have a special menu for vegan/vegetarian, so if that's what you are be sure to ask for it Specials are posted on a chalkboard on the wall My friend who is vegetarian had the crispy chicken and I had the boat noodle soup because I wanted something warm on a cold winter night The crispy "chicken" comes with a side of rice With cashews, green beans, and bell peppers The boat noodle soup consists of meatballs and rice noodles in a beef broth, and in my case, I chose the pork slices rather than the beef slices. I also ordered an extra meatball. The bowl arrived steaming hot at the table with the appetizing aroma of star anise and Thai basil. Frequent readers of my reviews will know that at Thai restaurants I make it a point to ask for the four condiments and that my eyes light up if it includes Thai Bird chilies in fish sauce. As you can see from the picture, this is one of those places. There is no beer or wine served at this location so inquire about bringing it yourself or just have a glass of water as we did The service is attentive and friendly and interested in helping For dessert, I had the homemade durian ice cream, which comes with some crushed peanuts to put on top. My friend had the fried banana in a rice wrapper with mango ice cream because they were out of coconut and a coconut topping and caramel The fried bananas are so soft they nearly melt in your mouth Because seating is limited, most people will order carry out Any number of people came and went while we were there to pick up their orders At two of the other tables there were vegetarian Indians eating

Yelp
This is inside a small shopping mall at Seven Corners, so it's going to be a bit chaotic getting here with the weird intersection and the crowded parking lot. I found their in-person menu a bit confusing and different than the online one; I didn't even realize the tofu dish I was getting was curry noodles. However, it worked out to be an excellent mix of flavors, including a vigorous but tolerable spice level and some sour pickled mustard greens. The Thai iced tea I got on the side was kind of smallish; someone else ordered a house soda that looked more interesting. The term "street food" is often kind of empty and trendy, but this place really did give off that vibe.

Yelp
Got takeout from this very small restaurant a bit after 7pm on a Saturday. Ordered from someone at the tablet on the tiny counter and sat at an empty table in the hallway near a group that was dining in while I waited for my food, which didn't take too long and was brought right to where I was sitting. Starters: The papaya salad with mild spiciness was pretty normal. The pork skewers were good. Mains: The chicken pad Thai with no spiciness was a browner color than we're used to seeing and tasted more savory and less sweet/sour than we like. The crispy pork belly with Chinese broccoli and medium spiciness was good. The spiciness (and chiles) seemed concentrated in the sauce that was packed in a little cup on the side. The crab fried rice with no spiciness was great. It had a nice balance between having some lumps of crab for texture and having some broken up crab mixed into the dish to spread the flavor throughout. Also, all of the stir fried items had a clear wok flavor, which we often don't get in other Thai restaurants in the region.

Yelp
This is our favorite spot for Thai noodle dishes. We've been coming here for years. We usually order the same dishes these days and from the photos over the years I can tell you they are very consistent in quality, seasoning, portions, and smoky wok flavor are all on point. Inside is a small restaurant like many of the places at Eden Center. They have some seats in the hallway too. They offer spice levels 1-5. 5 is spiciest. I usually order level 3. Wife normally orders mild. She ordered 3 once and said she couldn't eat it. I ordered 4 once and I could barely tolerate it and I love spicy foods. I couldn't imagine what 5 must be like lol. They also have spicy condiments you can add yourself. Just need to ask for it. Our favorite dishes are drunken noodles and pad Thai. I alway add extra protein for just $2-3 which is well worth it. I usually do double chicken but last time I ordered chicken with extra fried tofu, which was even better. It was nicely fried tofu and not the frozen pre-fried types you find at the grocery store. Love it! I do not recommend their rice plate entrees bc they are very small for the price. Many other places you can get double the portion at similar quality and price (approx $15-20). For example, the chicken curry is probably 1-1.5 soup ladle portion where other places would give about 3-4 soup ladle. Hopefully that makes sense. If you're Ok with small portions, the quality is very good. Overall, highly recommend. Check it out!

Yelp
I started planning my return trip while I was eating my meal. Service was great and the ambiance is relaxed. A cathartic experience was had!

Yelp
The pad khi mao (drunken noodle) was well spiced and the wide noodles make it a carb heavy, oily, dense meal. Super filling and a fair price. The spring rolls weren't super worth it for the value, but they were crispy and hot. The pho noodle with beef (especially the soup) was super flavorful. The best was probably the coconut ice cream with chunks of coconut.
google avatar

Yelp
As most places in Eden, a lot of establishments will have small spaces so it looks like a hole in a wall place. The place is managed by Vietnamese people - however, this doesn't mean it's not authentic Thai cuisine. It's just not the Thai food I am used to. I would be aware of the YenTaFo Noodle Soup. I chose it because I was curious to see what it was because it mentioned their "house special sauce". The broth was pinkish red! And it was such a sour taste - so I would proceed with caution. Not my favorite Thai place but you just got to try it once.

Yelp
Small and casual hole-in-the-wall type of place that's tucked away inside a food mall, it's a good place to stop by for a quick bite. It's a very small area with limited seating. We ordered the pad see ew with pork and the Chinese broccoli with pork belly. Both dishes were very salty, especially the Chinese broccoli with pork belly dish. The pork belly dish also had mostly fatty pieces. The pad see ew was pretty good, although I wish the noodles were chewier. Service was pretty friendly! Overall, I don't think I'd come back here just because I personally think there are other Thai places are better in terms of taste and quality, but this isn't a bad place if you want to grab a quick bite!
google avatar

Niranjana S.

Yelp
Tucked away in Eden center, this gem was bit hard to find but the good ones always are. It was a smaller restaurant with limited seating both inside and outside the restaurant as it's located inside the plaza. The service was quite fast and there was an expansive list of vegetarian options as Thai food tends to be a more vegetarian friendly cuisine. I ended up getting pad thai with tofu which is a classic for me as I try new places and I even treated myself to a thai iced tea. The pad thai was flavorful and just as i would have liked it in terms of spice level. You can pick the level of spice that you'd like the dish to be. The thai iced tea was a little too sweet but I still really liked it. Overall would definitely recommend especially for a quick takeout on a rainy day!

Yelp
We have been coming here for several years now. Staff is kind and attentive. Food is outstanding and quickly delivered. The spicy chicken noodle curry soup is VERY tasty. And the papaya salad is very nice. Happy and wholeheartedly recommend!

Yelp
Quaint little restaurant with great food and vee friendly staff. The (owner?) was extremely kind and explained many menu options both before, and after the meal for my next visit. I git the Tom yum soup which had a phenomenal broth! Will definitely be back to try their other dishes.

Yelp
Truly a hidden gem inside one of the malls in Eden Center. It's a hole in the wall with a few tables. The drunken noods w chicken are delish! So flavorful with a slight kick that goes well with the soft noodles- full of smokey flavor. The chicken was tender! The curries here are also good! My sister loves their green curry :) the yellow curry was pretty sweet and flavorful - not spicy at all though. The server is also very nice ! I've alr been back several times :)
google avatar

Dona P.

Yelp
Ordered pick up this time and enjoyed the gluten free rolls in the car, much tastier when had HOT and a treat! Once again they made the pad Thai less sweet and more spicy, and it's delicious! Fresh, not too oily (no grease at the bottom of the container!) and a spicy sour tangy shredded papaya salad that was fabulous! Service with a smile as well!
google avatar

Sesh J.

Yelp
I've gone back quite a few times and have been continually less impressed and disappointed- I won't be back again. The portions on vegetarian items are too small and the price ends up really high. The portions of vegetarian items are seriously ridiculously tiny. The food wasn't all that good the last time we went and the thai tea was kind of bitter. They also don't have an online order system (it's a third party that adds a ridiculous service fee which no one should ever pay for pickup). They're always out of something on the vegan menu and then they went out of the way to re charge my card when they had to replace my dish with what was available.
google avatar

Wendy W.

Yelp
Amazing Thai food hidden inside Eden Center. The food here reminded so much of what we had in Bangkok. The spice level is no joke. We went medium for the ka prow and I was sweating! The crab omlette was delicious with lots of fresh crab meat. The tom yum soup is very different from what we usually get at other Thai restaurants in the area and I'm not mad. It had a nice broth. We ordered this one mild so was able to enjoy the flavors of all the aromatics. Overall, a great find. Cute cafe atmosphere with friendly service.
google avatar

Raadhika V.

Yelp
My husband and I have been coming to this place for Thai food for the last five years, it is THE BEST Thai food in the DMV area. Everything is fresh, authentic, generously portioned and perfectly spiced. I love that they have a vegan section in their menu, the vegan chicken drumsticks are simply delicious! Their drunken noodles are perfectly coated with a sticky, delicious sauce and medium is the perfect level of spicy for us. Anytime we get Thai food from another place, it pales in comparison to Kao Sarn, so why bother going anywhere else? Check them out!
google avatar

Jaci B.

Yelp
Best Thai food I've ever had outside of Thailand. The Pad see ew and Khao Soi are amazing! They prepare the food so quickly and it is flavorful and consistently good. Khao soi is hard to find and this place does it perfectly.
google avatar

Sahana B.

Yelp
Hands down my favorite Thai food in NoVA!! The vegetarian options are amazing! My friends and I got the vegetarian papaya salad to share which was refreshing and spicy. I got the vegan crispy cashew chicken dish which was so flavorful. We ended up getting some chili oil as well, and it's the best because not only is it spicy, it's also flavorful! Definitely will be coming back lots of times. The service was great too, very nice!
google avatar

Yelp
The food was yummy. The Thai tea was classic. The water was refreshing. This is my second visit so I'm finally completing my review. I got the same soup as last time. The Tom Yum Noodle Soup and it's great. This time, the waiter asked how spicey. I'm so glad bc I did not want it spicey. Lol The dessert is aaahhhhmazing- plus it's dairy free. The fried tofu was such a treat. I love this place. Oh don't substitute the milk I. The Thai iced tea with coconut milk. Just go ahead and get the regular. Lol The decor is soooo adorable. I added a few pics.

Yelp
100% excited to find this small shop in the Vietnamese dominate plaza. It is a bit hard to find but once you do, the food is amazing! They have street style food that is comforting and good portions. I also love the dessert it was so delicious and unique to other places. I am excited to try the mango sticky rice once it is in season. We tried the popular items and they didnt disappoint. The pad see ew was delicious and a stable!

Nina D.

Yelp
The food is great and the service is gracious! Rather than providing 'Americanized' Thai food, the fishes we ordered reminded us of the meals we enjoyed in Thailand. I have only good things to say about each of them!
google avatar

Carly C.

Yelp
Easy 5! AMAZING MUST GO PLACE! I got the kao soi and think it is the best I have had in the area! This is a very small place but the service and hospitality is great! They did let us know they were out of a few of the things we ordered but that's just another reason to go back!!

Yelp
I've heard a lot about Kao Sarn and it's definitely a hidden gem - as in, you're going to have to walk into the right entrance of the shopping center and pass through multiple other restaurants and storefronts before you find it. I ended up using Google Maps while I was inside, lol. The interior is small with very few tables that aren't the cleanest. Fortunately, my friend and I were able to snag a table (no one else was really there, seems like it's very take out friendly) this past Friday for dinner. There was an annoying fruit fly that was zooming around while we ate. Other than that, we had a pleasant experience. The server was very nice and attentive. BOAT NOODLE SOUP - 13.50 I think it was 13.50, but could be off by +/- .50 cents. I paid +1 for beef. Overall, this was a solid choice as I was craving something soupy with noodles. The broth was a bit oily but it was flavorful and full of beef flavor, black pepper, and other seasonings. The beef slices weren't the best quality (they kind of balled up together), so I'd probably just do the pork if I got this again. Good amount of noodles which soaked up the broth well. The beansprouts provided a nice crunch and the basil was the cherry on top. I'd recommend, but only if you are OK with something that wasn't too filling (left me satisfied, but not full). My friend, on the other hand, got a PAD THAI and the portion size was HUGE. From my one bite, I remember it being more on the sweeter side. There were lots of flat noodles which will definitely fill you up. I would have made two meals out of it, but my friend managed to devour the whole thing. I wish we split a MANGO STICKY RICE, but that was sadly not on our minds. I heard that was really good here!
google avatar

Richard L.

Yelp
Came here on a friends recommendation and it definitely did not disappoint. Hidden away inside of Eden center sits this small restaurant with a simple menu. The flavor though was anything but. Both of our entrees were chock full of spice and left us wanting more. The only knock was that the papaya salad was a bit soft and not crunchy like typical papaya salads. Hopefully that was just a one time thing and not typical of their salad, but we'll be back to definitely try out other dishes in the future.
google avatar

Cynthia M.

Yelp
Drunken noodle was great. Kao Soi chicken noodle soup was good. Would not recommend the green papaya salad because it was soft and not crisp at all.
google avatar

Michelle K.

Yelp
Kao Sarn Thai Street Food is a great Thai restaurant! I tried the Pad See Ew, and it was the best I have had at a restaurant--authentic and fairly priced. The noodles were so chewy and flavorful. However, the Panang curry was just okay; I wouldn't go back for the curry because the coconut flavor was very overpowering. I would definitely recommend the Pad See Ew and would love to try more on the menu. I went on a Sunday night, and it was pretty busy. The place is small, so we got takeout. There is also free parking. I also tried the Thai tea and would not recommend it as it was too watery.
google avatar

Danica V.

Yelp
Great Thai spot inside eden center. Small lil restaurant with limited seating. We tried their Tom yum soup with chicken, on the smaller side of serving but taste was good. Pad see ew beef which was well flavored, kao soi chicken is my fave dish and it sure didn't disappoint. Ended our meal with their mango sticky rice special. The sticky rice was good but the mango ice cream was too icey and the mango was on the sour side. Prolly skip this one
google avatar

Natalie H.

Yelp
One of the best Thai I've ever had, including Thailand. It's a very small place but the food is super delicious and the service is fast and friendly.

Yelp
Small restaurant in Eden center which is tucked away among the stores and restaurants. It is reminiscent of small restaurants in Bangkok with a cozy feel. There are a small number of tables inside and outside. Once you step in, the kindness of Erin is as though you're visiting her home as her guest. Authentic Thai dishes with the perfect amount of heat and Thai freshness that makes me miss being in Bangkok. She was able to adapt several dishes to be vegetarian and they were sensational. Having been a meat eater for many years I find it unique and wonderful to have plant based dishes when being accustomed to the meat dishes and her foods don't miss a beat! Friendly, fresh, perfectly served. Add this Thai restaurant to your must eat at! We will be back!

Yelp
I decided to visit Kao Sarn Thai Street Food specifically to try their Kao Soi. I first fell in love with Kao Soi a couple of years ago when I tried the Burmese version at a pop-up restaurant at my office. Burmese Kai Soi typically includes a hard-boiled egg and is thickened with chickpea flour, which gives the broth a unique body and flavor. I haven't found a restaurant in the DMV area that serves anything comparable, so I was curious when I saw this dish on the menu here. The Thai version of Kai Soi is generally good but not on the same level as the Burmese version, but I'm no expert. Thai Kai Soi is typically thickened with coconut milk and doesn't come with the hard-boiled egg. All that aside, Kao Sarn's Kao Soi was delightfully satisfying. The portion was generous and the broth was silky and rich. I also ordered their spring roll appetizer which, unfortunately, was ice cold in the center. Our waitress apologized profusely for the error and brought back a new hot batch. I will definitely be back to try their other dishes soon.

Yelp
Amazing thai food! A little hole in the wall with authentic thai food. There is limited seating, but the owner was accommodating. The pad se-ew was flavorful and the noodles had a good texture. The crispy pork belly was a little salty, but the white rice balanced it out. The panang curry was flavorful and very good. Would definitely recommend!
google avatar

Jacob C.

Yelp
Really liked the pork belly with Chinese broccolli. Other more standard dishes (kaprow, drunken noodles) were good, but not better than a lot of other places in the area. Also, I asked for spicy, and it definitely was not.
google avatar

Sophie U.

Yelp
Best pad see ew I've had to date - the wok hei was incredible. Small spot but warm service and delicious food has me regretting not coming by when I lived in the area. Company reported that the green curry, shrimp fried rice, and pad thai were also really good. Food was so good, one of us ordered two more dishes to go. Durian ice cream was creamy with perfect amount of sweetness. Durian taste was mild yet decidedly present. A+!
google avatar

Fabian M.

Yelp
They still got the best Kao Soi noodles soup. Service still as fast and friendly. Tip: u can get extra noodles to enjoy more of that curry soup. The chicken felt better this time then previous times. It was soft and well seasoned. I wanna try their other dishes, but the kao Soi is just so good.

So happy I stumbled upon this gem located inside the shopping center. Ordered thai iced teas that were perfectly smooth and lightly sweet! The spring rolls were crispy and seasoned. The kapow was delicious. Spicy and not over cooked! The service was great. Plenty of seating inside and outside the center.

Yelp
OMG, I didn't know that Kao Sarn Thai Street Food had already been around for about 6 years - where have I been?! This must be some type of a hidden gem, because I had just found out about this amazing eatery - I actually stumbled upon this place by literally typing in 'delicious Thai' in the search engine and filtering through - HA! Run and operated by Chef Arin, the menu offers various appetizers (such as chicken empanadas, spring rolls, fried tofu, etc.), salads, soups, noodle soups, stir-fried noodle entrees, entrees served with rice, fried rice, curry, sides (such as fried eggs, sticky rice, cucumber salad, etc.), and even vegan options! Don't forget to check out their daily specials! They also do catering, too! We came here for an early dinner, and we ordered: +Pad Thai with shrimp - if you're a fan of saucy pad thai, this is it! It had the perfect amount of sauce to dress each of the noodles, and there was a slight kick to it; the flavor was different from the usual pad thais found in other restaurants, and it was really good! The shrimp was juicy and plump. +Pad Khi Mao with chicken - man, these stir-fried wide noodles were so good, and the sauce was darker and stronger; really flavorful! +Panang Curry with chicken - the curry was thick and creamy, and more peanut-focused, which I liked; definitely more savory than sweet, and it was served with a side of perfectly-cooked jasmine rice +Thai Iced Tea with Milk - the tea was strong and steeped well, and this had a nice ratio with the milk We really enjoyed our meal! And, that ice water was just sooo cold and refreshing! When we walked in, we were greeted right away, and everyone was so kind and friendly. The place is small, but super clean, and I loved the chalk art and the decor. This restaurant is located inside the Saigon West building; when you enter, make a left at the first corridor, then make a right at the end of this hallway; the eatery will be on your right with some seating that is placed outside. This place will definitely be part of our regular dining rotation, guaranteed! I can't wait to try out the rest of their menu, including their specials! YUM! Thank you so much for existing, Kao Sarn Thai Street Food! +delicious Thai! +kind & friendly staff! +located inside Saigon West +parking in Eden Plaza

Yelp
FALLS CHURCH, Va. - Sort of tucked away inside the Eden Center complex of mostly Vietnamese restaurants and shops. Small storefront of four or five small tables inside, plus a few more small tables outside in the Eden Center indoor walkway. Seems clean. Service is quick and efficient. Tons of parking. Food is definitely worthwhile. The ($9) curry empanadas were particularly flaky and warm and wife enjoyed tremendously. Her Thai fried rice w/chicken ($14) was particularly peppery with diced carrot and broccoli - don't expect big chunks of veg or chicken. Not overly oily. My Kao soi chicken noodle soup was good - nice coconut milk broth (got medium heat, which helped clear up my sinuses from my cold, but didn't scorch the tongue or cause me sweating). Sizable chunks of chicken. Would order again, definitely.

Yelp
I was in the area and I decided to give it a try based on the great reviews. I ordered the chicken pad Thai and spring rolls to go. Pad Thai was ok. Chicken was very dry and the flavor was nothing special. I can say I definitely have had better before. The spring rolls were delicious. Maybe eating in would be better not sure but it isn't anything I would go and order again.

Yelp
I thought this place was a great find. It's tucked away at the Eden Center but it is a must try. Ambiance: (4/5) It doesn't seem like it's meant to be a sit down restaurant. There are very few seats but it's a cute little restaurant. The tables were clean and the aesthetic was nice. Price: (5/5) My dish was about $16 and it was enough for some left overs. The price is definitely worth the potion size, especially in this area. Food: (4/5) my dish - S2 on the menu was amazing. It was a red curry dish with egg noddles. It came with crispy noddles on top that added a great texture. The spice level (for spicy on the chart) was not overwhelming. It was very flavorful and easy to eat. The only reason I didn't give it a 5/5 was because on bite of my chicken was cold which was slightly concerning. It wasn't undercooked which is why I didn't return the dish. Service: (4/5) There seems to be one server and one chef which is enough for the amount of foot traffic I saw, but it seems like if they got busy, wait times would get too long. My food came out in a matter of 10 mins. In conclusion, I can't wait to come here again and try more dishes. I have never had a dish like that before.

Yelp
Can I just say yum? The restaurant is tiny, but very warm and inviting. We were warmly greeted and received excellent service throughout. The food was so delicious that we cleaned our plates. I highly recommend the whole rockfish with Thai basil sauce and the crispy pork belly with Chinese broccoli. The egg rolls and calamari were very tasty too. We finished it off with coconut ice cream with real coconut slices inside. The prices were very reasonable. I can't wait to go back and try something else from the menu.

Yelp
This gem is an outstanding Thai restaurant with great prices too. My friend said it was better than most restaurants he tried in Thailand. The kitchen has enough heat on the stovetops to achieve a slight sear. It's call wok hei in Chinese, and few restaurants can achieve it. The service was friendly, and each dish had the right amount of spice (high for me). Ensure you order with less spice if you're more sensitive to it. If you're in Eden Center and want something other than standard Vietnamese fare, the check out this place.

Yelp
We had a city of falls church gift card to use and this popped up as one of the options. It's a little tricky to find in Eden center. Very small space with only a few tables. Food came out really fast and I thought it was great. The pad see ew noodles had a lot of char which I love. The panang curry was different than I'm used to. Too many bell peppers and not enough chicken but the sauce was good. Pineapple fried rice was also good but not enough pineapple and cashews. Overall I liked it better than my usual local spot Thai Curry and I'll definitely be going back.
