"Formerly Kappo Shunsui, this atmospheric restaurant now serves three multicourse omakase menus, typically consisting of appetisers, sashimi, sushi, hot dish, main course and dessert. The interior is theatrically lit to showcase the food; the wooden counter seats 20 diners who can chat and interact with the chefs. It goes without saying that all the ingredients are top notch; the knife work is razor sharp and the sushi perfectly hand-pressed." - Michelin Inspector

8 Little Known Michelin-Plate Restaurants In The MICHELIN Guide Singapore 2018

"It's not just about reserving a table if you want to sample its authentic omakase menu and its wonderful selection of over 80 different sakes, you also need to find this restaurant —- its secretive entrance has no sign, just a frosted glass door and a bell. The chef is serious about every detail — even the dashi is made daily with kombu from Shiretoko and mineral water. A luxury menu is available upon pre-order five days ahead." - Kenneth Goh

So far, this has been the most enjoyable meal I’ve had. Both the service and the dishes were outstanding. The atmosphere truly made us feel like we were in Japan, especially with the staff speaking Japanese. The 8 course menu was fun, interesting, and full of surprises. I especially loved the part where we could decide how much ikura we wanted, which was definitely the highlight of the meal. The chef explained every item clearly and with so much passion. You can really see his charisma and dedication, which added a lot of character to the food. Everything was fresh, and the rice was perfectly done. The service from the lady in kimono and the gentleman in the black shirt was excellent as they were very attentive and accommodating to all my sudden requests. One small suggestion would be to have better ventilation when there is smoke, as a bit more airflow would make the experience even more comfortable. Overall, I genuinely enjoyed this meal the most and it left a long lasting impression. Kudos to the team !! ✨💕

To me, their selling point is offering a variety of food in their omakase so I can have uni, Ikura rice and sashimi and wagyu all in 1 meal. (Yummy!) The food is plentiful (was so full), food quality is ok, relatively fresh but maybe not all dishes are consistently excellent so I do find I can get in more fresh food in Japan (not confined to omakase or kaiseki type). The ice cream made on the spot was ok (not exceptional but maybe it's just not to my taste). I think it's a good experience but I probably would try other places next time.

Lovely 10 course omakase, FUGA. It was on promotion, so $149++ per pax instead of $179++. For $20 more (comparing to the Kacho 8-course), you get wagyu & urchi. We went for Sunday dinner, there were only us and 1 other group throughout the whole evening, so it was almost like our own private room and chef. Reservation is required as you would have to inform on your menu choice beforehand.

Came in for my birthday and it was a fantastic experience of Omakase. Staff was very professional from the start to finish. Restaurant is very clean and tidy, great atmosphere and vibe. Music choice is also very pleasant. At every point of our experience, we were always greeted with a smile and authentic Japanese etiquette. 5 star service and experience overall, would return again. Jason the lead chef and his staff truly made this an experience to remember.

It was a casual dinner during a working day and my time at Shunsui was a lovely one. Each dish was served freshly to us and everyone is seated at the bar counter. Presentation of the food was on point and the price was affordable as well. The only downside is that I was seated next to a group of chatty ladies and it really disrupted my inner peace having a dinner. It was tough having chats with my partner because the noise was simply another level.I felt like the waitress could have evenly spaced us out so there will be more privacy for each customer group. One of the dish was never ending flowing ikura mini rice bowl and that was fun HAHA. The chefs were all enthusiastic. I would definitely head back to Shunsui again at a non peak hour.

We used to frequently patronise their city gate branch but sadly it was closed. We went to the Hong Kong street branch and always love their good quality omakase dishes and great service and warm hospitality. Pricing is reasonable and serving pace is on point.

Fantastic omakase experience. Every course is delicious, the presentation is beautiful, the chefs make it great to watch and the value is the best I've had in Singapore for this exceptional quality of food. This place will be on my list to visit whenever I'm in Singapore.

We had the shunsui course and it was well presented with fresh ingredients, very delicious. The service was attentive. The chef speaks good English and good at explaining the dish. Will come back again !
