What is love?
I am one of those people who typically only write good reviews. Maybe one or two bad ones? I never waste time to write an average review but it's a new year so here I am. Apparently it's a "new year, new me" for Karma too.
Here's what stayed the same:
*The busyness, usually this place is packed and there are average waits during the peak lunch and dinner hours.
*The service was excellent as always.
Here's what has changed:
*the staff seem to consistently be new faces, but we've come to expect this in a college town. Just noting this because the consistency of the rolls may be affected by this.
*rainbow rolls were fresh and as expected. We did notice that the rolls all kept falling apart- maybe do to less rice? Perhaps they were fully rolled?
*the fish was fresh and tasty as usual, but the portion size seemed smaller
***The biggest change was the thing that unfortunately nailed the coffin in us most likely never coming again. In the last two weeks (according to our server) they completely removed the only three rolls we really ever came here for: Kaibob, Three Amigos, and Bonsai.
They replaced these rolls with several other options. We only tried two of them and ordered a rainbow roll. The Sante Fe roll was crisp with veggies and fresh and had a sauce on top that tasted like pesto- made me think of girls who want to try extreme look changes when breaking up and then instantly regretting their choices...
The Rip Tide roll was creamy tasting but again, nothing to write home about. I wouldn't buy it again.
The rainbow roll was as expected, but that's a classic we can get anywhere.
The music is usually never a factor either but today with how loud and packed it was, it felt like Night at the Roxbury.
This is a restaurant our family has been regulars at for years. We take family to visit here when they come to town because we know what we can expect and have always enjoyed the food, ambiance and understand the value of the wait time, and the pricing.
Alas, this is a friendly warning to anyone else who ever had Kaibob, Three Amigos, and Bonsai rolls as favorites. Seeing as we have no reliable favorites any longer and now nothing in common with Karma...
Karma, we loved you. It's been a good four years but we have nothing in common and it's time for us to part ways. Wishing you the best, and we truly hope others love this new side of you!
Baby, don't hurt me- no more!
