Google
Delicious food. I recommend the hummus, it’s seasoned very well. The portions were very big and I didn’t finish all of mine there. Very laid back atmosphere with a lounge area at the front.

We were walking around Soho and wanted Greek food. We stumbled upon Karvouna on Bowery. It was early so we were the only ones there. It’s a funky looking restaurant. Our server was the bartender who was very sweet. The food was traditional Greek and very good. The price was very fair too. We have a very nice early dinner. We will definitely go back when we are in the neighborhood.

The waitress went up and beyond to serve us. The foods is more than enough and they are delicious. We had used the app "seated " to get cash back.

Google
Food was very fresh. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The food is very very very good. The spinach pie was amazing, one of the best we've had in NYC. The kebabs and sausage were splendid. The hummus was flavorful and had a nice herb taste to it. The pita was grilled beautifully, and the rice was cooked very well. Highly recommend!

Google
A super gyro Yea you gotta mispronounce that to get the pun 🤷🏻‍♀️ But that’s ok because @karvounamezze does have super gyros, like this chicken gyro on the plate. Plus they have some other amazing Mediterranean dishes like this grilled octopus with lemon potatoes

Google
Great spot for casual lunch / dinner in Soho! I got the Fried Halloumi and a Chicken Gyro. Both dishes tasted fresh and home cooked. Our server was very welcoming and gave us cookies on the house to end our meal!

Sat for a spell and enjoyed the show watching people walk by. Interesting stuff and art work has me wanting to come back.

Google
This cozy but spacious Greek restaurant is a place to go to after a visit to the New Museum. Located right next to it, I had a quick lunch after the museum. Gyro sandwich was fresh and delicious! Its ambience is inviting and the server (Matthew) is very friendly.

Jessie K.

Yelp
Surprisingly empty for a Saturday night, maybe because of the location? Service was excellent--waitress was very friendly and attentive. Plenty of seating and nice decor. Portion sizes were good, especially for the price. One of the few reasonably priced Mediterranean options in the city. Would definitely go back. Hoping they stay in business.

Yelp
I was on the hunt for a delicious and legit Greek salad, like with no lettuce lol I found it here and I found wayyyyy more than that. Stopped by on a rainy Wednesday night, not a soul in sight and the food was amazing and very fresh (always a fear when the place is empty). It did fill up more! Nomz: We decided to get a bunch of things and split them to maximize how many things we tried. Hummus: Good portion size, very tasty and lovely warm pita Spicy feta dip: Also superrr tasty! I dipped back and forth between this and the hummus. Greek salad: The freshness, the amazing flavor, it was like I was back in Greece. Pork gyro on the plate: Omg, the waiter recommended, the meat was so tender (melted in my mouth) and beautifully seasoned, the rice was very nice and the sauces were great. We had lots of pita! With our plate, hummus and feta dip, we were stuffeddddd. Probably could have don't with one less thing! Drinks: I had a glass of rose and it was yummy, not too sweet. Service: Our waiter was super nice and courteous. Ambiance: Alternative, artsy, pretty big place - I think they have music nights where it gets poppin. Nope or Dope: Dopeeeee, a great great meal. Can not wait to go back, found my new fav Greek place!

Jenny L.

Yelp
Food: Was in the mood for some Greek cuisine and so when I stumbled across this place and took a peek at their menu, I definitely had to try it out! Ended up ordering a villager salad, eggplant, grilled octopus, branzino coupled with their espresso martinis! I found the dishes to be flavorful and fresh. My friend and I shared all the dishes and so we were able to try a little bit of everything! Cost: The dishes were a little bit on the more expensive side- the octopus was $27 and branzino was $26. Still worth trying it out once! Environment: When I came for the sit down meal it was during non peak hours. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant so it was nice and quite- were able to enjoy meal and chat without having to talking over other people. Service: Service was good, didn't feel like we were waiting too long for our dishes and the server checked up on us routinely. Uniqueness: If you're around the area and craving some greek cuisine, definitely stop by and check this place out!

Yelp
Stopped in on a whim. Came out of the New Museum, turned right, and saw an inviting sidewalk setup. Not crowded. While I was there, I was the only person there, but that doesn't speak to the quality of the food. Primarily Greek fare. I had Greek fries topped with herbs and feta. Hot, crispy, fresh. I also had the spanakopita pasta, which was rich and filling. I had a caipirinha that was so delicious, light, and refreshing that I ended up having three. They have souvlaki, steak, eggplant dishes, hummus, and other Greek fare. Prices are super reasonable. For an appetizer, an entree, and three cocktails, I paid around 70-ish dollars before tip. Service was attentive and kind! I chose to eat outside, but the indoor section was laid back, stylish, and Instagram ready.

Yelp
We got take away. The spreads were very good. Spicy feta and Muhumara my favs. My parter enjoyed the tzatziki the best. We asked for extra pita; didn't receive. My partner got a traditional ground lamb gyro and enjoyed it. I requested no sauce (tzatziki) on my chicken gyro and they didn't honor my request. Sadly, i wasn't able to eat the gyro. The chicken that didn't have sauce was bland. Too many delicious Greek & Mediterranean places in NYC so we probably won't be back.

Anna K.

Yelp
Came in two different times. First time was in the evening and it was pouring outside. Place was nearly empty so we were pleasantly surprised when service was great and food was even better, So that's what made me come back for brunch with another friend. Halloumi fries were delicious. And burger was cooked just right, Believe they had a bottomless mimosas option as well. Solid choice.

Katrina T.

Yelp
I often overlook Karvouna when looking for Mediterranean food. I'm not sure why! I decided to order UberEats pick up since it was a nice day and I didn't mind a walk. I decided to do my order thru UberEats instead of calling/ordering directly from Karvouna. I wanted a chicken gyro and it was $7.95!! On their website it's listed for $13 so of course I opted for pickup for UberEats. What I tried- Chicken Gyro: This was huge! Stuffed w/ delicious roasted chicken, yummy fries, fresh cukes + tomato. Tzatziki sauce was good but wish I ordered a side of it. It's such a deal for only $8! Definitely had to split it in to two meals. I can't wait to try their beef/lamb mix next time. Everything was seasoned well. The actual restaurant is cool and they have a full bar with stools. They had a Medusa wall art that was awesome. Though my UberEats app let me know my order was ready for pick up, I did have to wait 25min when I got there. I did not mind since it was a nice day and I didn't have anything going on. The person who helped me was nice tho, offering me water and giving me updates while I waited.

Brittney P.

Yelp
This little place is a hidden gem. Traditional Greek food menu down to desert and coffee. The Waiter was super friendly and talked to us about all the food options. We chose to sit outside and had the perfect sunset view of the Empire State building! The Moussaka was so well made and seasoned. The spicy feta dip was SO delicious. We also enjoyed Baklava and some almond bar dessert with nutella. Definitely have a Greek coffee here. It's traditionally a bit stronger of a coffee but so delicious!

Yelp
Decided to take my wife out on a date to start the new year, and boy were we delighted with this find! (Thanks Pulsd!). It was a nice, quiet afternoon when we arrived, and were promptly seated. The staff were very attentive, and the ambiance was superb (lovely decor). The food was absolutely delish! There's no better Greek food than Karvouna Mezze; and this spot is one of my favs to date!

Kalli L.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing! Food was delicious and the ambiance of the restaurant is great with nice music and artwork. Our server was also very nice and gave us some sweet treats after! 10/10 would come back

Casey W.

Yelp
- recommend: fries, pork skewers, 'the villager' aka greek salad - after trying more of their menu these have become my regular items - the staff is always prompt and friendly - I look forward to eventually enjoying a meal here in whatever form post pandemic life takes

Anna N.

Yelp
My friends and I did the Pulsd deal and we absolutely loved our time. I got the kebab and it was delish and my friends all enjoyed our meal. They were so understanding and even went out to get more champagne for us. Absolute try!

Adina B.

Yelp
I was very happy with this restaurant. The food is delicious and the service is excellent. It has an old New York style feeling that is also modern and welcoming.

Emily C.

Yelp
We came here for dinner after finding an amazing deal on Pulsd. The deal included a mixed platter or 2 entrees and 2 drinks for 2 people, and it was a great value! The four of us had the mixed platter, which included several types of meat, the kima kebab, and the massouka. There was also a lot of pita bread/hummus/tzatziki on the side. All were delicious and portions were a good size. The interior is very unique with lots of colorful lights and the ceilings painted with clouds to look like the sky. They often have music and comedy shows in the evenings, too. Service was speedy and efficient.

Sarah T.

Yelp
The worst restaurant experience I've ever had in the 15 years I've lived in NYC. The food was largely inedible, the service was terrible, and when one of us complained the meal smelled and tasted disgusting, they refused to comp the price--and added an automatic 20% tip. The positive reviews here are from friends of the owners and employees. Stay far away.

B B.

Yelp
If I could give negative stars I would. Went for lunch and were the only people in there. Zero service until she told us she was out of most of the mains. The salad never arrived and the hangar steak was so tough I couldn't even cut it. Beer was warm. I haven't left a restaurant this pissed off in a long time. Place is a total miss. Avoid.

Shreya K.

Yelp
Great spot for casual lunch / dinner in Soho! I got the Fried Halloumi and a Chicken Gyro. Both dishes tasted fresh and home cooked. Our server was very welcoming and gave us cookies on the house to end our meal!

Julia S.

Yelp
Stopped by with two friends during their happy hour for a drink, and was disappointed to see that none of the workers were wearing masks. We sat outside, and ordered margaritas. And to be completely honest, they weren't particularly special (but I am sure that's also not their specialty). The staff didn't check in on us very often, and the wait to get our drinks was kind of long, but they seemed kind.

Amrat T.

Yelp
Their portion was huge! I left satisfied and the chicken + salad was delicious especially with the sauces. Their muhamara dip was satisfying as well although the pita bread would get cold & harden fast so you have to eat it quick however the dip itself was amazing. Chill ambiance too!

Gordon Y.

Yelp
Cuisine: 7 Service: 8 Decor: 8 Value: 7 Overall: 7 If we only had apps and no entree, I would have given the cuisine a 8 or 9. Unfortunately, the Mixed Grill for Four at the end was a disappointment. Next time, I would go back for the Grilled Octopus, Halloumi Fries, Vegetable Mousaka, and try some other new items on the menu. The space is comfortable and beautiful, while the service was friendly and attentive. I will be back and hopefully experience some better entrees.

Melissa M.

Yelp
This was an amazing experience! The food was fantastic. Our server Leirian was amazing!!! This is a can't miss culinary experience!

Nimish P.

Yelp
This place is amazing! The food is great and the service is even better! The gentleman that usually takes care of me(been there twice!) is awesome! The Tomato Keftedes is a must have! 5 stars for sure!

Liz O.

Yelp
This is the perfect spot for a hot toddy and a pastry before you go to see Grief and Grievance at the New Museum! The candied orange peel on the chocolate cookie was divine, and the blueberry scone was yummy. Also the cider was hot and delish.

M H.

Yelp
We ordered a few different items and every single item, from the beer battered fries to the The service from the "waiter" was worse. Wever once checking on us while there wasn't a single table seated in the entire restaurant. The lack of any other customer here at 7PM should have spoken for itself

Harrison C.

Yelp
My husband and I spent over an hour trying to find a place to eat and ultimately decided on this because it was close to our hotel room and everything else was closing and THANK GOD we did! We just got back and my husband is currently on the phone with his mom describing our meal. I got the hangar steak and he got the octopus. Both were incredible and super reasonably priced. On top of that our waiter (I didn't catch his name, I'm sorry!) was so friendly and attentive. At the end of the evening we were treated to dessert on the house that was incredible! Now we have to walk around the block to walk off some of this FANTASTIC meal we just had. Thank you to the kitchen for their amazing food and thank you to our wonderful waiter for his excellent service. Next time we're in town we will be back.

Fabio C.

Yelp
Amazing food! And awesome size for its prices! I am definitely coming back! Chicken Souvlaki

Sebastian C.

Yelp
Amazing food! Great service. Definitely we are coming back again. Desserts are really good :-)

Tania G.

Yelp
We never dine around this area so this spot was a pleasant find. Food was delicious and had an authentic greek taste to it. We ordered the chicken kebab and the lamp chops. Taste was great, nicely seasoned and well made. The chicken was nice and tender and my lamb chops were perfectly cooked. Delicious! At the end of our dinner we were given complimentary dessert - small pastries. We sat in the front room which was very casual sitting. From the host to our waiter we were greeted nicely. Over all Very friendly and accommodating staff. And the decor has a feel of bar/lounge/restaurant mix. 2 main sitting rooms and a large bar area in between. One room seems more formal than the other.

Antoine C.

Yelp
Good food, and really nice vibe. One dish stood out as a really good dish: the baked feta. You should definitely get it. The rest was good but not memorable. I feel like I left without being completely satisfied although everything was good. I think the best way to put it is that the flavors aren't really pronounced. I could have put 3 stars but because the restaurant has a great vibe I think it deserves 4 (live music, big counter with bar in the middle of the restaurant, spacious and not too loud). The problem for this place is that there are too many other options where for the same price you can really get better flavors.

Marv P.

Yelp
The ambiance and the food exceeded our expectations! My amazing boyfriend and I had the better fish, which if you ask the waiter you'll be in for a surprise. The drinks were strong, refreshing and unique. Try the cucumber tequila. The octopus is the best in the city, you'll feel like you're in Greece. Hmm

Mariah R.

Yelp
Very kind folks with very delicious ice cream. Oh and a couch! The outdoor couch was clutch.

Jean J.

Yelp
The food is insanely delicious (truly I am crazy about it) and the restaurant is enchanting. Just look up! The people are friendly and the pricing is gentle. I already know what I'm ordering next time.

James S.

Yelp
It was 7 degrees in the middle of January and we were dying for food - this gyro made me believe in a god. I got the Kebab Gyro (which was a very reasonable price) as well as some fries and a cappuccino. Everything was great and the place had good service. Amazing place. Will be coming back, and recommending it to everyone!

Jim P.

Yelp
This place is probably cool for a late evening or after a night of partying. On this random holiday Monday, there was no one here and the worker was mopping the inside, so that was not really accessible. The traffic noise and speed in their "covid shed" is a bit unsettling, but hey...it's NYC. Now to the food. I selected a chicken gyro, which says it comes with fries, but I didn't realize they are on the gyro. I was ok with and it was tasty. Mi-lady had chicken kebabs with rice (which was perfect) and comes with a small salad (which wasn't - dressing wasn't tasty...maybe just olive oil) The chicken was just a tad dry, and their was a "floaty" in the first drink she received. I know that skeeves some people out...so that's why I mention it. Overall, we had the place to ourselves, which I usually like but I've been feeling like "company" lately. All of that adds up to 3 stars, but I wouldn't mind coming back on a bit more bustling and cooler evening. Looks like they have a nice little bar that you can chill first if you're deciding.

JohnCarlo G.

Yelp
Still open!!! Takeout an delivery Got on grub hub for dinner. Yummy gyros and plates. Reasonably priced. Food came quickly!

Kate T.

Yelp
Good food and friendly staff, but two times I ordered over seamless, both times they didn't have some items I ordered. Their order management seemed a bit off in general. Like they'd send me order ready text, while they just started preparing the food. I had to wait 20 min there once. The second time I ordered, when they didn't have one of the items, I asked them to cancel the order, but they didn't do that for a whole hour... I had to work with Seamless myself. What a pity. I really wanted to like the place.

A P.

Yelp
Went there a few weeks ago, took over 45 minutes after the first plates came for our skewers to arrive. Service was sub par, drinks took forever to arrive. Will not be back

My B.

Yelp
You better run away from this restaurant. The online menu/advertisement shows a WHOLE FISH and a very attractive plate. When I got my order, I couldn't believe I was charged $25 for the two thinnest slices of branzino I've seen my life. The entree comes with some sad cherry tomatoes and olives, nothing special. I know we've experienced inflation since Covid. Still, this price is just too much for the quality and quantity of the food.

Wei Ji M.

Yelp
I tried very hard to give this place 5 stars, but couldn't get there. We had the chicken spaghetti, the vegetable fritters (2 pieces), the revithada (2 pieces), the spanakopita (3 pieces), the dakos (2 pieces), the vegetable moussaka, and the galaktomporiko for dessert. Everything tasted well. The moussaka and the galaktomporiko were outstanding, but the other dishes were too salty. My wife, for whom I brought the chicken spaghetti home, said so independently. This should be an easy fix. Across the board, prices were $1-$2 more than we would have expected. In fact, it looks like they just raised prices. I am attaching a screenshot of the online menu showing the fritters for $8, the revithada for $9, and the chicken spaghetti for $16. These would have been relatively normal Manhattan prices. I am also attaching a picture of the physical menu we got today - these three items were $10, $12, and $19, respectively. Not a good look. We brought a 17-month old baby. The bartender was super nice to the baby and kept him distracted while I fed him - bonus points. But when we asked our server for a bigger table because we had a lot of baby dinner stuff with us, he refused ("we have other people coming"), even though most of the restaurant, including the entire back room, was empty - minus points.

Reshard R.

Yelp
If you are out looking at beautiful art and want to feel like you slipped and fell into the center of Europe, stop here. Not only do they have a wide variety menu there is also exceptional service. It is gorgeous and laid back. The plants give the outdoor seating a great opportunity to hide and still be connected with others because of the great banquet seats mixed with the tables. This is quintessential NYC and Europe done perfectly. The owner is Greek and the great server is Brazilian. I mean come on...escape during this crazy time with a nice cuppa.

Thomas C.

Yelp
1/5. They were out of half of their entrees tonight because of an event the night before and didn't warn us prior to ordering appetizers

Sarah S.

Yelp
This place is good for a quick snack or small lunch. We went after visiting the New Museum right next door. There's some outdoor seating and one table has a couch that we lounged on. The music is really weird. It's whispering and creepy lol. I'm not sure I would have a full meal here. There was only one worker, so the service/food would probably not be too quick. But for a snack it's great. $3 muffins, $2 iced coffee, $9 croquettes (cheese or chicken)

Carina P.

Yelp
Before I get started I want to highlight that my experience here was absolutely ATROCIOUS and COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. Normally, I hate reading scathing reviews about service that don't mention food. So I'll start with the food. Food: Appetizers were delicious. (We felt pressured to put our order in with our drinks though to ensure they actually came in a timely fashion. ) We got tzatziki, platter of dips, octopus and Greek meatballs. The octopus was out of this world. I wish we ordered two of these. The meatballs were as soft as pillows and delicious. The dips were standard. The dinner was DISGUSTING. If you like eating a plate of animal fat, priced at $48 and disguised as lamb then this is the place for you. I could have made the mixed grille myself. And I'm not a great cook. Dry and covered with salt. SERVICE: After chasing wait staff down, many of whom repeatedly asked if we needed water, but could NOT take our orders; it took over 2 hours to receive our food. It is important to note that when our main courses came out, the tables seated around us had already paid their checks and left. The mixed grill was over salted, dry, and tasted like the frozen trader joes meat I buy in their freezer section. the 48 hours marinated pork was just a plate of salt and fat. SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE.

Ayana H.

Yelp
This restaurant was just lovely. The server was attentive, he answered all our questions, and the food came quickly. Everything was delicious, and i definitely recommend getting the mimosas. Definitely stop by!!

Hari K.

Yelp
While I came here once for takeout and the food was quite tasty, this time coming for bottomless brunch was a bit more disappointing. The apps of a few different spreads were just okay and not satiating enough based on the amount of pita they gave. The vegetarian gyro sandwich is the only vegetarian thing on the menu, so I was a bit disappointed that I couldn't try anything new; while it is a tasty entree, I wish there were more options for me. We got mimosas which were quite tasty as well and the service was quite good too. The main disappointment here was just the ambience, as the place was a bit dead during brunch on a Sunday and yet, they still played live music with the loudest amp possible. It was super hard to hear anyone talk and we were getting a headache from it. Without that, it would have been a much better experience. However, you should note that with the Pulsd deal, this place becomes extremely affordable ($25 bottomless after tax/tip), so I would definitely recommend it for the price.

Jen P.

Yelp
Went to Souvlaki GR on a Friday night and the waiting time for 2 was 1.5 hours... No thank you. Walked a few blocks over here since this place had been on my radar for a week or so. It's a relatively new spot on Bowery, so it has plenty of room on the weekends for dinner. I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't stay like this for long. We were warmly greeted by the staff and seated inside. It's surprisingly spacious. The inside makes it look like a restaurant that I probably can't afford on my negative salary as a student, but everything was affordable! There's also a couple of outdoor tables as well. It's pretty dimly lit, which makes taking photos hard, but that may be the only downside to this place. My friend and I ordered the tzatziki spread (small size), Horiatiki salad, soutzoukakia (meatballs), and octopus. Each dish was well portioned for the price - especially the salad, and everything was so good (and not overly salty like Kiki's sometimes is). There was no wine menu available but our server (who seemed like the manager or owner?) gave us recommendations and let us even try the wines before selecting. We loved the wine he recommended and it was only $34 for the bottle! Insanity. The service, ambience, and food was great. My friend and I officially am in love with this place.

David S.

Yelp
This place has the best service of any place I've been to in New York. The staff are super nice, all of the food is delicious, and they always have incredible eclectic music playing. They also have live music on Friday (Flamenco) and Saturday night (Latin pop). This place really is a delight, I try to go as often as I can.

Ryan R.

Yelp
Went here with some friends to grab dinner on a Sunday night. The place was decently crowded, but we were able to be seated at our reservation time. After perusing the menu, we decided to go with one of the large platters, which was pretty good and allowed us to try a lot of the various meats that are offered here. That being said, some of the meat was not as tender/flavorful as I was hoping. Overall, this place has a great atmosphere, but is definitely a bit on the pricier side and the food isn't quite up to the high standards of other Greek spots in the city.

Brigette B.

Yelp
This place was greaattt! We used the pulsd deal, which with a group of 8 or 9 people was perfect. The pulsd deals often, for brunch don't often have the best food, especially if it is a bottomless deal, but this place was great! They had a lovely vegetarian options to chose from as well, which is always a plus and the portion sizes were prettyy good. The staff were all super friendly and they let us stay way later than they should have. I also liked that their bottomless deal included more than mimosas. They had bottomless mojitos, that weren't too sweet, which is hard to find. It is also a great location, right next to the park that sometimes has free live music. I would for sure go back here! It was also interesting because there was like no one in the restaurant, which seemed confusing because the food was good, the bottomless was a great deal, and it was Saturday during the day.....so that was very confusing, must have just been an off weekend or something.
