"Specializing in Lao and Mien food, Kasoy is a food cart standout next to a self-storage operation that’s easily missable if buzzing down Burnside. Those who stop will be rewarded with the namesake soup, kasoy: a large bowl of bone broth filled with fresh wide rice noodles, topped with minced pork sauce, cherry tomatoes, quail eggs, and beef meatballs. Some of the menu leans Thai (and even Korean), but the tham mak hoong, a Laotian-style papaya salad made with fermented crab, or the fried milk fish served with spicy Laotian dipping sauce jeow som, are both standouts." - Krista Garcia, Janey Wong

Google
We bought ingredients from her many times and really wanted to try her Kasoy. We made a trip today just to try out her food. My wife and I ordered Kasoy, papaya Salad, waterfall beef salad, and sticky rice. The papaya salad was a bit salty. The Kasoy was delicious. It was worth the trip. I really like the setting; a small food truck courtyard, where you can sample food from other cultures as well. The owner is very nice and friendly. Definitely a place on my list for revisit!

Google
Egg rolls, kim chi, rice kasoy and drunken noodles are top tier. 10/10 flavor, portions, accoutrement, sauces, everything.

Gina Godfrey

Google
It was my first time to go to the food trucks. I googled it and saw that the drunken noodles were recommended. See my photo of my food and the empty box when I finished eating. Mmmm…It was a good hefty portion that gave a “bang for the buck”. It was cooked up fresh and served hot. I sat at the table by the truck and right away enjoyed the soft tasty noodles with beef and vegetables, it was yummy. The flavor was what I hoped for. See also a pic of the mother daughter team. Thanks ladies for a sweet satisfying experience. 👏🏻

Google
This is definitely one of my go to lunch spot in Gresham the bamboo basil noodles with chicken dish is my favorite but the waterfall beef salad is a close 2nd 🥈 and lady that run the cart is always a delight to talk to.

Google
First time I’ve been here in awhile usually I do the drunken noodles or waterfall beef this time I wanted to try something new so went with the salt and pepper tofu and mango sticky rice which were absolutely great she never disappoints and is very helpful with recommendations as well definitely stop by this place if you get the chance

Google
Great food and friendly service even during these hard times. Prices are very reasonable as well. Thanks for the Bulgogi, it was fantastic! Definitely coming back soon!

Nate

Google
Best damn bowl o magic in town! The Kasoy Special (with shrimp, beef, ground pork, quail eggs, cabbage and more) is freaking fantastic! Tons of good crisp greens (cabbage, green onion and cilantro) compliment the tasty meats and killer broth well. It's a must to add all the fixings if you know what's good for ya... all the chili sauces, fish sauce, etc., etc., Awesome dish, especially on a crisp winter day

Dana Bakke

Google
I always get the drunken noodles, but today, there were hardly any vegetables and tons of noodles. It didn't feel like I was getting what I paid for. This is usually my favorite dish, but there is some inconsistency depending on who cooks.

Jenelle S.

Yelp
I typically don't write food reviews but I was just craving thum mak hoong at 8:00pm so I was looking on uber eats and I came across Kasoy and wanted to try it because it looked amazing. Oh this place is actually really amazing I've been trying to look for a place that makes thum mak hoong as lao spicy when it got delivered to my house it blew me away!! It tastes authentic and is very very spicy I really love how it comes with veggies as well! Reminds me of my grandparents cooking!! Their prices are definitely worth it. I would definitely be coming here all the time and I would definitely recommend this place.

Jose L.

Yelp
I think you bypassed my whole review instead you only mentioned about Gresham food cart! 1. The owner is rude 2. The food was horrible 3. The cart stank 4. Gresham food carts is gross!

Sarah C.

Yelp
It was such a pleasure to finally get to visit this awesome woman owned food cart! Even my partner, who can be a tough judge, said that this was a stand out amongst food we have tried recently. I ordered the red sticky rice and the drunken noodle with tofu, on Jenny's suggestion. (She's the business owner!) Both hit the spot perfectly. They were big portions for the price, enough for me and my partner to share. They asked what spice level I wanted and I said medium, they clarified that their peppers were pretty hot, and since I've been liking spicy stuff lately I went for it - it was exactly what I expected and wanted. The cart is located in a cool pod in Gresham - there is indoor and outdoor seating, parking, and lots of great businesses. Wish I lived closer to come back more often. I took my food to go... my partner was lucky there was any sticky rice left to try by the time I got home :)

Amy C.

Yelp
I enjoy coming as the service is great, the owner is kind and impressionable. Her food is delish. My favorite thus far is the pickled mustard green stir fry. Her kasoy is also warm and lovely when it's cold. Yum

Ian M.

Yelp
I've had two dishes here and they wet both wonderful. I just finished the pickled greens and beef. I asked for the slightest bit of spice and they hit it out of the park. Each bite was popping with flavor. I purchased a small side of kimchi for the probiotics and it was delicious also. The truck was clean and the service was kind and personable. The prices are reasonable for the times. I can't wait to try the next item!

Jason C.

Yelp
Came with a friend for a post-hike lunch. The owner and her daughter were super friendly and happy to share helpful info about their food. I had the Kasoy over rice. It was delicious and super fresh. The egg was cooked just right. The flavors were perfect with a nice spice. I could have used maybe slightly more bean sprouts and scallions but otherwise awesomely tasty. I need to come back and try more stuff!

Wilson Z.

Yelp
Love this little food cart, The owner is really nice, price is reasonable. Food is pretty good.

Natalie H.

Yelp
Visited the Gresham Food Carts for the first time today and landed on Kasoy & Co for my lunch selection. I ordered the Lemongrass Beef Salad, and it was delicious!! The beef was really flavorful, and the salad was so green and fresh. I could have eaten the salad dry with how much flavor the beef provided, but I decided to pair it with sweet chili sauce, and that was a nice addition. I would highly recommend this salad, and I can't wait to come back and explore the menu!

Andy A.

Yelp
If this place could be any better, I can't imagine how. Favorite cart, hands down. If you like, they'll make it so hot your scalp sweats ("Lao spicy"). Just my style! When I'm craving something herby, the bamboo basil stir fry is fabulous. When I'm yearning for sour and bitter notes, I order the lai swee (pickled mustard greens) with pork belly. Their freshly-made local kimchi CRUSHES every store brand I've ever tried. Adding salad versions of the lemongrass beef and waterfall beef was a great idea! The bulgogi bowl, chicken teriyaki, and laap tacos are stellar. There's one other dish that I love, but I won't name it, because they always run out. You'll have to beat me there. ;)

Wei C.

Yelp
I first heard about this cart through Instagram. I saw a rave of posts about this cart on my friends Instagram stories. Knew I had to come give it a try and see what it was all about after seeing all the delicious food pictures from my friends and from following the Kasoy & co's Instagram page. My friends and I ordered the beef drunken noodle, special Kasoy and the papaya salad. Warning, their medium spicy is pretty spicy, I would suggest going with the mild if you can't handle much spice. We got the papaya salad with the medium spice and was struggling with it, but it was really tasty so I kept taking bites of it even though I kept having to reach for the water. The Kasoy soup is a bit bland but once you add the sauces they provide it is yummy. The drunken noodle was really tasty and flavorful. This Cart is far from where I live but if I'm ever in the area again I will definitely be back to try more items from their menu.

Ariana J.

Yelp
Probably the best drunken noodle I've ever had. Spicy, chewy, tender chicken cooked perfectly. My first meal in Portland and I am very happy. Thoroughly enjoyed the noodle dish. Will remain my favourites. These were one of the very few food places open on July 4th and we were happy to find them after multiple attempts of finding open lunch places on national holiday.

Sean W.

Yelp
Was in the area and decided to drop by seeing all of the other good reviews. Ordered the traditional kasoy to take home. Even after making a 30 minute drive home and heating the food up. I was not disappointed! The meat, veggies and quail eggs (my favorite) was quite tasty. The broth was definitely the highlight though. This dish does have quite a bit of veggies so if you are picky about veggies I'd stay away. Prices are reasonable for what you get and what you would pay to go out to get Kasoy

Brooklyn D.

Yelp
Saw the glowing reviews and I said PERFECT THIS IS IT!!!! Well that was my mistake today June 19th,2022 at 1:50 pm my food got picked up, with them having an annoying habit of giving one napkin I asked for extra but NO they would have to charge extra for it ok no problem. Still excited to eat because I am starving and I start eating only to feel a hair IN MY MOUTH!!!! Me being in denial I look through the food and there is MORE. Honestly glowing reviews just showed me it can truly be deceiving, BEWARE!!!!!!!

Yelp
First time we tried Kasoy and we ordered through food delivery service. We ordered the traditional kasoy. The serving was perfect but it is a little pricey. The food was tasty and has a unique taste, but I only gave 4 stars because there was not enough meat, all noodles and veggies. Overall, food is tasty and will come back again. Hopefully this time there'll be more meat lol.

Anthony C.

Yelp
Pork and rice known as Khao Kha Muu! Food carts have always had an amazing taste when they know how to cook and prepare food in such a small space and nowadays they're becoming even more popular and even more delicious, but I'm sure they've always been like that as I am not a frequent food cart attendee. I have been frequenting them more nowadays and I can't wait to explore the other options here in this location as it's so close to home and convenient and parking is just right outside the gated area and it's free! So the pork and rice was so filling and they give you at least 3 1/2 cups worth of food at these food carts so you're definitely going to have enough for lunch and dinner if you so choose to save it but the flavors were just amazing and nothing was bland.

Priscilla S.

Yelp
Ordered some pickup and was far from happy with the quality of meal. Called them and very kindly explained my issue and I felt like I was being a little interrogated.... I was well mannered, polite and just asked what they could do.for me. They were fine replacing our 2 Waterfalls Beef plates and advised us they now order "better cuts of meat" which is why it looked off when we got it. Hmmm...okay. I had also ordered the Wonton Soup with rice noodles, FINALLY!!! Unfortunately for me..... it was very bland, too light, and left a lot to be desired. The wonton were okay.... I'm no coneseur of food but I know what I like in wonton soup and this ain't it. I took 2 sips of the broth and ate 1 wonton before throwing it all away to go get my reorder. Like I've said in my Facebook comments to this plate... I was worried about spending $16 on a soup I wouldn't like....yet I did and it was a fail. With all of this said, my husband has decided he will no longer come to this cart. He doesn't like the change in meat (apparently the new cuts need to be charred/bbq hard to not be served rare and fatty) and the explanation we were given. As for me.... eh. Maybe if I really want some Crying Tiger like beef, I'll choose Kasoy. But this last visit was just a bit of a kick in the rear. Nice people though.

Gary Q.

Yelp
Always delicious. I like to order the Special Kasoy or the Waterfall Beef, but I've never had anything bad there.

Alexis M.

Yelp
if you're looking for something yummy Kasoy is a MUST try! The mother daughter duo are super friendly & they treat all their customers with kindness and smiles and their food is SO YUMMY my favorite is their waterfall beef for only $11

Mary A.

Yelp
A couple of friends ate here a month ago shortly after its opening. Didn't think much of it. Stumbled upon it while searching for food trucks during our weekend trip here. Didn't realize this food cart had Kasoy & Co, namely Mien food which is an extremely rare find. didn't even bother looking around to see what other foods were offered. Immediately ordered the Special Kasoy, Traditional Kasoy, Kalung Fun & Papaya Salad. All were on fire!! So freaking delicious that we ended up coming here the last day of our trip to savor the kasoy before heading home. Highly recommend Kasoy&Co if you're in the area... or if you're a foodie and am looking for somewhere to go, go to Gresham/Portland to feast your belly at this truck! Well worth every penny and bite! If you like kasoy, you will definitely not be disappointed!! P.S. Jenny the owner is so generous, amazing and sweet!

Theresa M.

Yelp
Their drunken noodles are some of the best around (Portland area in general), but it is really convenient to have a place far east (Gresham) to go to. I recommend their beef or shrimp drunken noodles. I have also tried the soup dishes, and I think they are decent for maybe colder weather, though I do not think they are as flavorful as their drunken noodles.

John C.

Yelp
This place is so good. I discovered it on a whim, one day while in the area and now, two years later every time I'm around this neighborhood, I make a point to stop here. Unfortunately the times they're open do not sync very well with the times that I am in the area. This is very frustrating. Even though it says they're open, there's no one there. I understand things come up and staffing is hard right now. It's just really a bummer when you drive a ways to go and eat your favorite Kasoy and they're closed again. But if they're open, it's definitely worth eating here. Really great family runs the place and they're absolute wizards in the kitchen. The broth is so rich and satisfying.

Cynthia W.

Yelp
Delicious food that gives you those delicious Asian flavors but a different cuisine than Thai & Vietnamese. This food truck serves Mien & Lao cuisine and let me tell you it's so good! Jenny the food truck owner is so personable and accommodating and obviously puts love into her food! I highly recommend this food truck @ Gresham Food Carts. You can ask about Keto & Low Carb options also!

Humam T.

Yelp
Everything you get from this food cart is yummy. The owner is very talented oh, and she knows exactly what you want. She can also make every dish vegan without sacrificing The Taste or the flavor. You don't have to wait long to get your mouth watering dish that will make your taste buds very happy. Come here support this small business, and you will leave happy. I think the prices are reasonable, but I don't remember. I'm sure this last statement will prevent me from getting a review of the day.

Peachie C.

Yelp
Really good and authentic southeast Asian food! Love the kasoy! Get it tradtional with extra meat sauce. Don't forget the chili oil. I also LOVE the bamboo stir fry with pork belly. It reminds me of home. It's so simple but so flavorful and warming. They have other amazing dishes that I still need to try...don't skip out

GB L.

Yelp
One of the best Drunken Noodles I've ever had. Taste like home made. The owner is very nice as well. Highly recommended

Dave D.

Yelp
This was a lot of fun and I'm glad we tried it. The kasoy is a sort of soup kind of like pho, but I thought it had some interesting nuance that I hadn't had before. The owner is super friendly, and the next time I go back I'm going to ask for some recommendations on what to experiment with.

Michael A.

Yelp
We've ordered twice here and both times have been excellent! Today we ventured into the Traditional Kasoy and a Special Kasoy. Its similar to Pho, but with a higher ratio of fresh ingredients to broth. It also uses a wide rice noodle, great for gluten-free eaters. It was a perfect dish for a cool rainy dinner. Jenny, the cook and owner is very personable and will help newcomers like me get the basics of adding some of the many available condiments and sauces.

Andrew V.

Yelp
Absolute must!!! Flavors are always on point. Definitely recommend if you are in the Portland area!

Arlen G.

Yelp
Love this little food cart. We ordered the drunken noodles and the lemongrass beef, and both came out amazing. They ask you your preference on level of spice. I would definitely go back to try out the rest on their menu.

Q X.

Yelp
Worth the drive to get your kasoy fix. Even buy their paste so you can make it at home.

Kay P.

Yelp
I've been living in Gresham for about two years now; and have only been to Gresham food cart one time (for the beer cart and karaoke night) but I found myself returning soon after Kasoy & Co opened and I am now a regular. I'm Laotian, and it's hard to come across our kind of authentic, comfort food, especially in Gresham. They serve Lao & Mien cuisines, literally as if I'm eating a home cooked meal. Packed with flavors that you can smell when you're walking in the parking lot, and lots of love. Jenny, the owner and cook of the cart, made me feel so welcomed and she is very kind. You can tell she puts her heart and foot in every meal she makes for her customers. 10 stars if I could, everybody needs to come eat here

Jen S.

Yelp
Brand new food cart! And guess what? They serve Mien & Lao food! If I'm correct, they're the only Mien food cart in the Portland Metro Area and a much needed addition to Gresham's growing food cart scene. Located in the Gresham Food Carts pod of NW Burnside, Kasoy & Co serves traditional Mien noodle soup called Kasoy, hence the business name. They also serve a traditional tart appetizer called Klangfen, various skewered proteins, papaya salad, sticky rice and steamed rice. I've had the pleasure of trying every menu item during their soft opening and my belly was pleased. Can't wait to see the additional items they'll add to their menu once they launch their official grand opening. If you haven't, check them out. You'll be happy you did.

Linda D.

Yelp
Honestly one of the (if not THE) best carts in Portland/Gresham. Not only is the food incredible but the people who own the cart are like family you never knew you were missing. The owner (I just call her Mom because she's my mom in Portland now since my mom lives in California lol) heard that I was getting over a nasty cold and suggested the Kasoy soup followed by some EmergenC. Well it's the next day and my stupid cough has subsided and I don't feel like a zombie anymore. Whatever magic is in their food, comes from her loving heart. Do yourself a favor and eat here. If you've never tried Laotian food (first of all, how have you lived?!) take a chance, you will not be disappointed!

Andrea C.

Yelp
Visited here last Sunday with some girlfriends from Seattle and was very excited. There's few Laos restaurants in Seattle and you can't find Mien food anywhere, unless you're at a friend's family home. Our group of 5 shared the Kasoy, papaya salad, waterfall beef, and waterfall beef salad. We were stuffed!! Spicy is definitely Laos spicy which was perfect for the crisp, cool Fall day. On the side of the truck there's an area for all the condiments and fixings you would need to dress up your Kasoy to your liking. Jenny, the owner, is the sweetest and immediately makes you feel at home, even though you're in a food truck pod hehe. Can't wait to come back the next time I'm in Portland.

Tommy C.

Yelp
Recently discovered Kasoy & Co and I am beyond thrilled! Authentic exquisitely prepared food -- some of the best I have ever had. The workers was very informative and helpful when they were helping me pick my dish. The Kasoy, drunken noodles, bulgogi, waterfall beef, and lemongrass beef is something to die for. I have tried a lot of different asian cuisine in my life, but Kasoy and Co really blow it out of the park. If you love asian cuisine, Kasoy & Co is a must! Will drag everybody I know to come try this place.

Avrielle Marcie B.

Yelp
Ordered Teriyaki chicken just now and came out burned, dry and very thin cut, my daughter couldn't even get a piece that is edible.

Janet U.

Yelp
I love the Drunken Noodles. I'm planning to try the other dishes as well! BTW, you can call in your order and pick it up. https://kasoyco.business.site/

Nai S.

Yelp
Food was tasteless and bland. Owner kept on bugging us to take pictures of her food and shout her out on social media.

Jamie L.

Yelp
I always get the kasoy, always delicious and flavorful! Portion is perfect for one or two people.

Tina S.

Yelp
A must stop whenever I come visit from California. If you're looking for authentic Mien or South East Asian food this is the spot. Their Kasoy is a must try and so much flavor!

Stephanie C.

Yelp
The food is amazing here and the owner is super friendly. The price for the food isn't bad either. If you are looking for something new to try or just simply hungry, give it a try :)

Lora D.

Yelp
Ordered via Uber Eats. Came fresh in cardboard containers instead of plastic clamshells, yay!! Tried the lemongrass beef, waterfall beef salad and drunken noodles with chicken. ALL 3 were DELICIOUS!! Fresh ingredients, great flavors. Warning - ordered the drunken noodles medium and put the dressing on the salad. Cheeks red and a fine layer of sweat from the spice. I love it!!! Will definitely be ordering again!

Melissa O.

Yelp
My daughter and I came on a gloomy day, but we were greeted with smiles and friendly conversation. My daughter was wearing her Pikachu onesie, and the lady (I'm assuming owner) was so incredibly sweet to her. We got drunken noodles with beef, and basil bamboo with pork belly. It was so delicious and enough for both my daughter and I to eat with leftovers. I feel like many food carts are overpriced, but they were reasonable and could probably up their prices a couple bucks without losing customers. We will definitely be back to try other dishes.

Julie Y.

Yelp
First time there and I order klan fin.. Told her I haven't had it in over 10 years so she made sure I had it all of what I need.. And let me tell ya.. It hit the spot.. I will be coming back for more.. Also looking forward to trying other things on the menu..

Steve K.

Yelp
One of the best Asian restaurants in Portland. My favorite dish is waterfall beef. Beef cooked to perfection, the side sauce is amazing, very spicy but so good. So glad I found this place. Excited to try other offerings they have.

Michael L.

Yelp
It was hard to choose cause everything on the menu looked good but I tried the Kasoy special and never had anything like this before! It's a noodle soup dish with rice noodles served with a nice variety of protein (shrimp, sliced beef, meatballs, quail eggs, minced meat). Will definitely be back to try everything else!

Leslie O.

Yelp
Thank you Jenny for the amazing drunken noodles. Thank you for your kindness. And Harley says thank you for the bones. This place has some amazing food and friendly workers I highly recommend supporting this local business.

Frank R.

Yelp
Great food!! Nothing really left to say other than my wife and I were extremely impressed with the portions, quality and flavor! Thank you so much!
