Kasra Persian Grill

Vibrant, modern, and big Persian restaurant. Customer service was great. Presentation of each dish looks simple but the food tastes great. Marinated beef Chenjuh was super tender, easy to bite into and very soft. The chicken barg was juicy and soft. The lamb shank falls right off the bone and has great flavor from the broth it comes in. The basmati rices were a little bland. The hummus appetizer was delicious. We also ordered a drink called DOOGH made out of yogurt, mint, and club soda. I enjoyed it but the rest of my party said it seems as if they were drinking a yogurt dressing. If you are into trying new things, I say try a glass of DOOGH!

The service is awesome. One waiter per table. The food was good, but different spices combo that I am used to for Mediterranean food. Parking is very scarce, only 1 handicap ♿️ space. But there is paid parking across the restaurant. The manager was very pleasant & accomodating. There is a huge room for private gatherings.

We had an excellent time. EVERYTHING we tried was delicious. Special shout out to baklava--amazing!!! Next time we'll come to celebrate freedom in Iran! Very soon!!

Amazing grilled meat! The whole neighborhood around the restaurant smells like grilled meat and Middle Eastern Spices. Our family loves Kasra!

*19 September 2025* Visiting from Atlanta. Everything about this place is fabulous: the service, the flavorful food, the décor, the ambiance. I ordered the chicken kabob and was left feeling satisfied. My lentil soup warmed me up. But I will say that when it came to the naan, I had to request them to put melted butter on top because without it, the bread was too dry to eat. But besides that, I would totally come back here to dine.

Walked out of another business and the smell alone required a visit. The food was delicious and the portion size was great! The service was 10/10! Impressed and will visit again!

Posh Persian restaurant. Beautiful chandeliers and retro- modern art frames. Delicious food and professional service- thanks to our waitress Aki. She was delightful. We got so happy that found this gem. Definitely gonna be back very soon!

AMAZING best PERSIAN kabob I’ve had ever even better than ravagh in nyc which is a big statement!!! HIGHLY recommend you try if you’ve never had Persian kabob it’s very good def beats Turkish run of the mill kabob!!!! They will give you free raw onions in the side also and if you go later in the day POTENTIALLY some extra rice too if you ask nicely 😛😝

This is my favorite restaurant in Houston. We love the hot tea, and we always get the appetizer trio with the Hummus, Mast Labu, and Kashka Bademjan. The kubideh with half-rice, half-salad is also a favorite. The people working are always incredibly friendly, and we love the ambiance. Any time we have someone coming to town we always take them here and it never disappoints!

This Kasra location is nestled within Rice Village and is always bustling, but never busy to the point of lines out the door. I've managed to snag same day reservations. Ambiance is casual to business casual, with prompt service. Acoustically it gets really loud due to the open seating space. House wine: The house Cabernet is surprisingly light and fruity, almost like a Pinot, and very easy to drink. It complements the chicken dishes well, but perhaps gets a little overpowered by the beef and lamb ones. Very reasonably priced and great for large parties. Hummus: Heavy on the garlic, this hummus is fragrant and delightful. It goes well with the table bread and herb platter. It's not quite as lemony as others I've had, which I prefer, and the garlic gives it a depth of flavor that keeps me going back for more. The family platter is absolutely massive. Even though it's advertised as feeding six people, it probably feeds more. I enjoyed having the option to try a variety of different dishes, as it's essentially six entrees. Proteins: Everything within the family platter is cooked well and delicious, but my favorites are probably the chicken and beef kubideh, which are super juicy and flavorful. The chicken barg and kabob are seasoned nicely, but slightly dry. The beef chenjeh is also delicious, perfectly marinated and cooked to a juicy medium. The jujeh I found a little bland, and the bones made it a little harder to cut up and share. The roasted tomatoes were a nice touch in a sea of meat. Rice: Unfortunately I couldn't try the famed cranberry rice as it included cherries and I'm allergic, but my party told me it was delicious. I found the basmati rice to be nicely steamed and subtly seasoned. The dill and fava rice was probably my favorite, with a nice touch of tang and fresh dill that complemented the proteins well. I leave Kasra stuffed and satisfied every time, often with leftovers for another meal. Given its convenient location and consistently delicious fare, I'll be back.

I can't even tell you how amazing this place is. Any Persian knows that it is damned near IMPOSSIBLE to find good Persian food at restaurants, they almost always fall short in the most disappointing ways. This place, however, is a true gem. I ordered the ghormeh sabzi and gheymeh, along with some mast-o-khiar, zereshk polo , Shirazi salad and some herbs... What got to my hotel shocked me. I'm including photos but let me just tell you, if you've never had ghormeh sabzi with lamb shank, you're quite possibly missing out on one of life's most incredible & magical wonders. This has more flavor than anything I've tasted since my grandmother's...it's seriously amazing. The gheymeh knocked my socks off, and my beloved zereshk polo topped it all off. If you love Persian food you MUST try Kasra in Houston. Honestly, I'd make an excuse to fly out here just to eat here again lol. Good thing I'm here for a week, I'm exploring their entire menu and flying back home a few extra pounds rounder

My visit was on a recommendation: Celebrated my friends Birthday here and everything we had was superb including the wait staff, they were already so attentive, but when they found out it was our 1st time there, needless to say it wasn't our last and has became a regular girls night out for us.

I really enjoyed this restaurant. It has plenty of tables. The staff were super friendly and the food quality was great. I ordered Sultani Kebab, tahdig, Persian hot team and Persian ice cream. Everything was great. Highly recommend.

This was my first time trying Persian food. It is located in Rice Village so there are parking options like the garage with complimentary 2 hrs or metered parking right in front of the restaurant. There is another location on Westheimer. I went with two friends on Saturday at 12 pm. We were immediately greeted and seated at a table in a serene area with beautiful pink wisteria flowers hanging down from the ceiling and a small water fountain in the middle of the room which gave off vibes of an enclosed outdoor patio. There were only 2 other table customers before it got busier around 1 pm. Our server Maryam was amazing. She thoroughly reviewed the entire menu and gave very helpful recs. She was incredibly attentive throughout the meal and very kind. We started off with hummus and Kashke bademjan. The complimentary bread had become pretty tough to cut and eat by the time we finished ordering so kindly requested a new one but we noticed it quickly harden as well despite trying to eat faster with the hummus. The hummus had a strong garlic aftertaste on its own but paired with the entree later on helped balance it. We liked how the roasted eggplant dip was warm and the whey cream gave it an interesting zing to the overall delicious taste. We shared the Gheymeh which is a yellow split pea soup with added eggplant with half white basmati rice and half salad. We also got the Kubideh combo which comes with beef & chicken kabob and white basmati rice. One thing to note is that the option of half salad half rice is an added $2 which we didn't know at the time. I think the consensus on the soup was that the eggplant was really tasty on its own but the split pea soup had an earthy and subtle pea flavor which wasn't our preferred soup taste. The beef and chicken kabob were our favorites because it was perfectly grilled and paired really well with the hummus or garlic sauce when eating it with the rice or salad. One friend got the Persian hot tea which came with cute sugar cubes and was so grateful to have one to go as well. Overall, this has been a great experience tasting Persian food for the first time for me and the service was above and beyond.

Kasra is Houston staple when it comes to Persian food. Always consistent and delicious every time. I do prefer the original location on Westchase, but that's a given. It was my first time trying the Doogh. Yogurt, lime, mint and club soda. Sounds interesting, but wow... I really tried to like it, just not for me. I thought it'd be sweet. We started off with the popular: hummus and eggplant. Super yummy. We ordered the family platter and everything came out perfect. All the meats were juicy and seasoned well. My favorite is the cranberry rice. Pairs so well with the beef kubideh. Love the ambiance, restaurant is clean, service is fast. I highly recommend.

Wow!! This place look decent from the pictures and reviews, which is why I went in the first place, but it's one of those examples of a place that exceeds your expectations by far when you actually experience it. Pulling up I wasn't expecting much more than a grab and go vibe restaurant. Even though it's quaint in size it has a very nice appeal. Looking in from the windows outside I can tell it was nicer than I expected. Without doing too much the place has an alluring aesthetic. I'm generally the type to call in and order even if it's my first time but I had some questions about the menu so I went in to places to go order. I have had some decent counter service experiences, even some nice ones, but this was by far the most lovely experience I've ever had placing a to go order. I believe her name was Raha and she was so amazing! I asked her my questions which she answered very well but because I'm not as familiar with the food type and names I still had to think to decide on what I want to eat. I knew I was taking a while so I didn't want to have her just waiting on me but she patiently waited, then to help she essentially went through half the menu with me while showing pictures from their website for context. For her to have been as helpful as she was for it to go order is *chef's kiss*. I'm going to get to the food but I have to say Raha was by far the most memorable part of the experience with this restaurant....and the food was delicious by the way, she was just that helpful. Now to the food. I knew I was getting a combo platter but that's one of the things I wanted to ask going in. I ended up getting the Kubideh Combo, which comes with a chicken and a beef kubideh served over basmati rice and roasted tomatoes. Because I wanted some vegetables in my life and due to my conversation with Raha, I also added the Khorake Bademjan on the side. To give you an idea of how big the portions are, when they brought me my food in the bag to go I was wondering if it was my order because it seemed like it was so much stuff in it. When I got home I was correct about it being so much stuff, but it was my food. She told me that it came with bread but I didn't expect it to come with two huge pieces of naan. The kubidehs were so large they barely fit in the plate. Oh, and I'm not sure how it was side to be used but it also came with a container of I believe lime, mint, basil, curly parsley, radish, onions and feta cheese, as well as containers of a red colored seasoning. I ate all of it but I'm idk if I ate them how or with what they were meant to be. From the quality of service, plus the portion sizes, I knew as long as the food was even halfway good I was going to be coming back. But even before I had the food, just from the smell of it in my car I knew it was going to be hitting. And it was! The first bite of the chicken kubideh was soft juicy and flavorful. My mouth is salivating just thinking about it the food, but I digress. The beef kubideh was just as good as the chicken. The rice was well cooked and was a great compliment. I didn't overly care for the roasted tomatoe but it wasn't bad. (You know you like a place when you're defending the things you didn't care for lol) The khorake bademjan though was an amazing surprise. I'm not the craziest veggie person but I eat them for health reasons. My first taste of this stew reminded me that when done right a vegetable dish can be just as good if not better than a meat dish. The flavor instantly hit and I was so thankful I got this dish. The naan, as I said, was two huge pieces. It was only okay but I'm not complaining over huge free pieces of food. Based on the experience that I had from eating at this place I can't wait to actually dine in there as well as try so much more of the menu that I know will be delicious. I didn't even realize that they had multiple locations of this restaurant unfortunately none of them are nearby where I currently live. So I guess I'll be making a drive again sometime soon. This was a top tier to go order experience!

Food was absolutely amazing. We tried the humus, mast Khair (yogurt w/cucmbers) and mast labu (yogurts w/beets) for appetizers. Our entrees were Lamb chops and shrimp kabob. Each dish was filled with flavors. Naviha was our server and she was very helpful with recommends since we were first time patrons. 10 out of 10 stars. Definitely one we will put into the rotation.

I came here on whim as I was looking for something to eat in the area. I love Mediterranean food and this spot had great reviews so I went to check them out. Parking in this area can be a pain! Even for a to-go order I could not fit my car in the little parking spot so FYI and plan accordingly. I placed my order inside and got the kubideh combo with chicken and beef. It took about 20 minutes to come out and came with a huge amount of Basmati rice and and large pita bread. This meat is fire! Very well cooked, well seasoned and good portion sizes! I wasn't a fan of the pita bread as it was pretty tough but I would come back for the proteins!

Always super busy! I got the beef kubideh and a side of ghormeh sabzi. The portions of both were very generous and the food was super tasty! A kubideh plate is enough for two. Service was alright. It took awhile to get the check and we were staring at different waiters for 5 minutes before I managed to flag down a waiter by raising my hands. One thing to note is that the inside is very loud.

You can't go wrong with Persian food. Fluffy rice, grilled tomatoes and onions, and two perfectly seasoned koobideh one chicken, one beef. Simple, satisfying, no surprises. Tried their Mirza Ghasemi too smoky roasted eggplant, tomato, garlic, topped with a fried egg and served with warm pita. Rich, bold, and something you want to linger over.

Amazing food and ambiance. Their interior decoration is just marvelous, and the freshness of their ingredients speaks volumes about the establishment. Their hummus was some of the best I've ever had, and you can tell they make it in house. Their beef koobideh were succulent and juicy, and the ample portion sizes easily feed several mouths from one dish. I'd definitely recommend checking them out if you're in the area!

Met a friend for lunch today at 11:30 and the restaurant was fairly empty, but by noon, it was 3/4th full. Service was excellent - the waiter was attentive and knew the menu well. The bread is complimentary and wonderful - hot and hearty. The food came out in under 15 minutes - it is obviously cooked to order. I had the Cornish game hen kabobs - a lot of food for $16 - and I took half of it home. The side of roasted garlic and jalapenos was mixed by me with the rice. My friend got the salmon kabobs and took half of his home well. The restaurant is large with two separate dining room areas. Parking is ample and free. An excellent and very reasonably priced lunch. Highly recommended.

Great and very attentive staff. They were friendly and took care of our large party well. The food was fantastic and flavored to perfection. I was confused about the greens they place on the table but requested olive oil to make a small salad. Be sure to order the hummus and vegetables.

Delicious chicken kabobs -- juicy and plump! The cherry rice is a MUST. My whole family loved it.

Kasra offers delicious, authentic Persian food in a lovely ambiance at a great price. The art in this restaurant is thought provoking and unique. Service was good. We started with the appetizer sampler which is a great value! Tried the hummus, kashke bademjan (roasted eggplant), and mast khiar (yogurt with cucumber). The sampler was served with large pieces of freshly baked, hot pita bread. The hummus was out of this world, possibly the best I've ever had! For mains, we stuck to kabobs. Ordered the kubideh combo (one skewer of beef and chicken kubideh). We also ordered a half skewer of chicken kabob. The beef kubideh and chicken kabob were spectacular - juicy and melt in your mouth good! Highly recommend getting these items. The chicken kubideh was less flavorful and can be skipped. The Persian rice was a bit of a let down, maybe swap for salad instead. Wrapped up our meal with two scoops of Persian ice cream, which was delightful and different! Overall incredible dining experience and flavors.

First time having Persian food, and I really enjoyed the unique flavors this place has to offer! I went for a casual dinner; the restaurant has plenty of indoor seating, and a casual dining in atmosphere. When you get to your seat, they bring a large plate with a pita bread on it. I have celiac disease (strict gluten-free), and I'm also vegetarian. I do not believe they have a dedicated gluten-free fryer, but they are able to make some accomodations for cross-contamination for celiac disease, though it did require asking several questions with the server and the kitchen. We replaced rice with a pomegranate and kale salad, which was much more delicious than I was expecting, with some nuts and pomegranate vinaigrette. Our entrees was the ghormeh sabzi, which was a unique kidney bean-based sour stew, delicious! We also got the khorake bademjan which was a stew with fried eggplant with lots of aromatic spices in a tomato-based sauce. We loved all the food, and the portions were generous, and I was absolutely go back to the restaurant!

Amazing food! Great location, plenty seating, beautiful decor, menu is Halal, very clean place. Their portions are very generous. Manager passed by a couple times to check on the food and service. Tried based on waitress recommendation, Sekanjabin khyar, Iranian lemonade drink..highly recommend! I'd recommend the Iranian salad, over the house salad. I'd visit again when I'm in Houston, and I'd recommend

Great persian grilled meats. Cranberry rice is a tasty upgrade for an extra surcharge if you're okay with it. Otherwise, there's standard rice is fine. The beef and chicken skewer meats were flavored and juicy on the inside.

This place is delicious with enormous portions. We got the appetizer sampler with hummus and the yogurt and cucumber dip (can never remember what it's called). For the main, I got the beef chenjeh. All amazing and I will definitely be back.

So i gotta be honest - I was watching a youtuber that was in Iran and whatever he was eating looked delicious, so I turned to yelp to find a good Persian restaurant in town and here we are! My wife and I together with our little infant visited this Kasra location for weekday lunch. Kasra is a local chain and I've only heard good things about them, I'm honestly surprised it was my first time here! Place wasn't overly busy and we got seated and greeted promptly by our server. The space itself is nice with modern/Iranian inspired decor all over. Seating is plentiful and I can see a big group come in and get seated comfortably. Right after we were greeted by our server, someone brought out the comp bread and herbs - you can actually see them making it fresh in the back. My wife and I pretty much every kubideh they have and they were all delicious. We also got their hummus which was fantastic! Overall the meal was pretty solid and we took lots of leftovers home. Price-wise it's not cheap, but the portions were huge and everything tasted fresh! Definitely will come back to try the other dishes. Y'all should check them out!

This is the first time I've dined at this location. I have gone many times to the Westheimer location. This is much closer to me. You can park at the parking garage. It's free for 2 hours and not too far. Their decor is beautiful and modern. They have different lighting, one section had flowers with the lights and surprising to see a fountain in the middle. The food is as delicious. Lamb shank with cranberry rice is my usual order. I always fill up on their bread, which you can ask for more. The staff is very attentive and friendly. After I told them that we were celebrating a birthday, they surprised the celebrant by singing and giving him a baklava (so good!) with a candle on top. I definitely recommend this location and will be my go-to location.

A solid Persian restaurant! Their food is delicious and the portion is HUGE. I like both ground chicken kebab and marinated chicken tenderloin, so the chicken sultani from their menu is a great deal for me. I like their cranberry rice too! Servers are very nice and service is pretty quick. The restaurant is very spacious so it's good for a bigger group too.

First time having Persian food was recommended by our driver. It was DELICIOUS, so much food, tender beef, Rice was the best I've had. Our waitress Meredith was so attentive and explained what was on the menu

We came here in a trip to Houston and so happy we did! We sampled dishes from all over the menu and everything was amazing--the kubideh was incredibly tender and juicy and the tahdig, a toasted crispy rice dish, is what I dream of. Service was amazing and our server was happy to explain and recommend menu items that we were unfamiliar with, and the bright, open dining room was welcoming and comfortable.

One of my favorite in town and again it hasn't disappointed. We came in for lunch during the weekday. Service and food was good.

This place is tucked in rice village. When you initially walk in there is a bar to the left of the hostess station. When I initially arrived service was a little slow. The restaurant wasn't full by any means but we had to wait to be seated. Once seated again it took longer than usual for our waitress to come to our table. Once she finally arrived, she was pleasant and made some great suggestions like getting the pomegranate rice. Overall the food tasted very fresh and well seasoned. While we waited for our entrees they brought over a plate of vegetables and Naan If you're craving Mediterranean food this is a nice place to try.

I am a fan of Kasra Persian Grill and this is my first time at this location. Service was really friendly and the food was fresh. The interior was clean. I got chicken and steak kebabs platter, which were seasoned well. The steak kind of very weird, overly soft consistency, though. It tasted like ground meat to be honest. But everything was tasty, and I love the plate of fresh herbs that they give on the side.

Service, ambience and portion were great but the flavor of the food was quite blend. I wouldn't go back.

I do not recommend Kasra especially the Times Blvd. location because my long time experiences have shown that your business may not be appreciated and their fake smiles can actually equate to them talking negatively about you and more. Also, their prices and food portions are not a good value compared to other places like Dimassi's where you will get more of the same or similar foods for a fraction of the price.

It was a holiday gathering among friends. My vegan friend and I shared a hummus and non-meat fesenjan. Ruben was a wonderful waiter. I kept saying merci to him thinking he's Persian. He's not. The garlic hummus is to die for. The bread is homemade. First you're served herbs with feta cheese. A great way to open your appetite. After the hummus, the fesenjan came. It's delicious. My friend didn't like it that much for it was too sweet for her. I do love fesenjan. My third friend had koobideh. None of us finished our food. The hummus had filled us up. Ruben gave each of us an extra piece of bread to take home with our leftovers. I had forgotten how good Kasra is.

This was my second time visiting the rice village location of Kasra Persian grill. The food is amazing here 10/10 The service is excellent 10/10 The ambiance is very nice too 10/10 There are parking spots around and may require payment to pay for a specific time slot. We ordered the family platter that is good to serve atleast 6 people. We were served with complimentary bread and salad. We also ordered some sides like garlic sauce, cucumber yogurt, something with eggplant, and hummus. We were quite full and satisfied with our meal!

My friend was treating me for my birthday and I chose here because I've been going to Kasra's original location pretty much since they opened and was curious about the new location. The vibe is definitely different. The original location has a much more Iranian atmosphere with the decoration and the diners who are mostly chattering in Farsi. This location is more diverse and has a more modern feel with the chandeliers and open dining areas. The parking here can be challenging but if you're willing to walk, you can find street parking. Another reason I chose here is they have vegetarian choices as well for my friend. I can't speak to the taste of the vegetarian options because I didn't have any and I grew up with meat in all of them so even if I tried it, the taste would be different anyway. The Hummus was really good and strong and you'll be shooing away vampires for a couple of days with the strong garlic flavor but I don't ever remember seeing Hummus while growing up so this is definitely an adaptation of other middle eastern cultures but in a long enough timeline anybody can claim a food as their own! I had the Kabab Kubideh since that's a signature dish and tells a lot about a Persian restaurant and it was just as good as the original location. High quality meat, seasoned just enough, and grilled to perfection.

Came here for my friend's birthday. I believe this was the location for Shiva's before it moved out of the village so there is some familiarity with the layout. It is a beautiful inside with the predominant classical decoration against the brown tile floors. There was a decent crowd for a Monday evening although I'm not sure exactly where they parked. All but one of the parking spots in front of the restaurant were designated for pick-up orders so I'm guessing that's how they do most of their business. The rest of the parking in the area were minimal street or paid parking lots. Signs for towing were prominent with their neighbours spots even if they were closed or out of business. As for the food, I'm guessing the flavours were authentic Persian since they were intense. I had the vegetarian plate with 3 of their stews, khorake bademjan (eggplant), ghormeh sabzi (kidney beans), and gheymeh (yellow split pea). I've had variations of these dishes in mediterranean cuisines but the flavours of the eggplant and kidney beans surprised me in their sour bitterness. Definitely an acquired taste. I found the stews to be oversalted underlying the new flavours so you definitely need the bread or rice to cut down the taste. I also had hummus, which my friend told me was not Persian. The garlic was strong and I enjoyed it with the pita bread. The service was really nice, and I would return to try other dishes. I think the yellow split pea and hummus would be the only dishes I would reorder again.

I love this place, the food, team and environment are The perfect combination for a great meal experience. This is one of my favorite restaurants. Last night my waiter was Pillar, she's very professional and sweet Highly recommend this place. I love the Pomegranate and Rose Water ice cream

Great vegetarian options and the vegan and vegetarian options are very clearly labeled on the menu. We ordered impossible kubideh and vegetarian platter which comes with your choice of three dishes. We chose kashke bademjan (off the appetizer list), khorake karafs (celerey based stew) and khorake bademjan (eggplant stew). The stews were a little too sour for my liking. Each dish was healthy but felt that the stews needed some protein so added some impossible meat from the impossible kubideh dish into the stew. The vegetarian platter surprisingly didn't come with rice, so I took some rice from the kubideh. Service was great but I didn't love the flavor of the food, which is likely more a personal palate issue.

4.5 stars! Really love that there's accessible Persian food in ricevillage! We started off with the eggplant appetizer and complementary bread, which were both really great! We got the chicken kubideh as our entrées, and there was enough for leftovers. I do think the up charge for cranberry rice is pretty high, hence the half a star deduction service was great!

Food was great. Arrive was really good and attentive and the ambience was really nice.

My fiancé and I, we're Armenian but our families are from Iran, have been traveling for 5 weeks for work, and this restaurant made us feel like we were finally home. It takes a lot for me to leave a review, but this place deserves it. Our waitress, Jessica, was so sweet and patient with us, and knew exactly what I was thinking. She was cool about our last minute changes as well, and made great recommendations. The resturant itself if very clean, pretty, and even the music was awesome. I noticed they have a nice room for private events too that's separate with glass walls. My fiancé has worked in a kitchen and when we walked by to go to the bathroom he said he could tell the kitchen was kept very clean. The food was outstanding, we got the barg soltani, mast moosir, Persians salad, side of zereshk pilaf, and the garlic sauce. There was nothing we didn't like. Even the bread they bring to the table taste so good. Price is also very good. I would highly recommend for authentic Persian Kabob. Will be back soon!

Finally ate here in person and it was just as delicious as take out. Even the reheated food is super tasty. Enjoyed our meal and everything was moist and tender and the butter with the rice was divine. Love the fresh vegetables and the constant fresh warm bread. You always get more than enough food for leftovers which is great too and everything is reasonably priced.

For a mere $20, I enjoyed a yummy lamb shank here on a bustling Saturday evening. I appreciated the free pita bread and snack plate with mint, cheese, green onions, and more, a great precursor to the meal. The real star of the show is the lamb shank in all its glory on a bed of yellow and white dill rice. No notes, simply perfection.

Food was really good! We had the two chicken barg ( yes, this is spelled correctly) with two bowls full of lentil soup as an appetizer between two of us. We were unfamiliar with the Talftoon bread and had never come across it before. It is an Iranian flat bread and it's was delicious. We tore pieces off and rolled parts of the chicken breast up to make a small sandwich. All these were outstanding. I'm sensitive to garlic and asked the waitress to keep me away from the garlic. I ended up eating a salad while my significant other ate hummus. She raved about it during the meal, but latter complained that she was still tasting the garlic in the hummus some 3 hours latter. Service also was outstanding with the waitress helping us through menu since this was the first time through the menu eating Persian. The amount of food and rice was enough for a second meal and we took it home in a box. There was a spice at the table called sumac that I had never tasted and I used it. Wow, good stuff! After coming home and looking its physiological properties up on the body I ordered it in from Amazon. We will be using this again and again. As far as ambiance this is a full service restaurant serving families which were coming in as we sat. The chairs and tables were spacious placed. Restaurant is modern and super clean. Chairs and tables were comfortable and the restaurant was clean and bright. Outside there was music playing middle eastern melodies.This restaurant is going to give Aga's a run for our money. The only thing I found slightly displeasing was the price. For two of us the bill and tip close to $70. However, given that we will get 4 meals from this I'm not too unhappy. I have the same problem with Aga's.. Bon a-petit!

The other night I ordered the Gormeh Sabzi with beef chunks and basmati rice for my entree. I remember the other Houston location running out of it at times and was so thankful to get it here. This stew was very aromatic, earthy, tangy, salty, savory, lemony and very delicious with good fenugreek notes I think in it too. Most Persian restaurants miss this dish making it too sour, not enough meat or too runny in some way. This one was very good with a homemade style to it and a good amount of oil without being off. The red beans were all soft and cooked thoroughly. The meat hunks were all so tasty, hearty and very beefy in taste like a good quality sirloin. The fat to leanness ratio in the stew meat was ideal, not having too much uncut fat and not being too lean. They were all seasoned / marinated just right and thankfully not one piece had any of that really awful, shitty liver flavor many beef stews tend to have. Every piece of beef was very easy to cut, moist, tender as can be with a little extra bite all in one. The white rice was cooked very well, very moist and loose. The service was very welcoming and efficient. I may also try this as well as the beef n chicken kabob options with that awesome cherry rice.

Food is delicious. Service is always asking if you need anything. Almost to the point it can get a bit much but everyone is so friendly and accommodating.

Wow - when you go ask for Naviah - makes great recommendations and is personable and informed on the menu options. Food flavors and portions are over the top!

The service is great and the food is great. If I had one complaint is that they could bring out more grilled tomatoes with the rice dishes lol, but over all I will stop back in the next time I'm passing through Houston.
