The 25 Best Things to Eat At Disneyland, Ranked - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Location: Royal Street Veranda, New Orleans Square, Disneyland Some kid just ralphed his Cheerios into the Pirates of The Caribbean river and now you’re starving. Thankfully a Disney staple awaits you at the exit. The sourdough bowl is a park classic and the long lines will warn you of that. It’s an especially great treat on a cool Anaheim day when temperatures dip down into the mid-90s. *Available for mobile pre-order." - Brant Cox

"A kettle-corn style vendor offering a sweet-and-spicy branded mix that tastes like a cereal-forward snack (think Froot Loops vibes); it’s fun and sugary but not a great value at its price point and is generally considered inferior to the parks’ stronger popcorn offerings." - Carlye Wisel

The Baseline: For theme park to-go food stands the food must be tasty, have an experience, reliable service, and be a part of the experience. Food: Star Wars popcorn! Disneyland does popcorn right. Kat Saka’s adds a bit of flavor you can’t get elsewhere in the park. Service: Disneyland cast member service is almost always top-notch. Ambiance: Star War themed and the experience is like I purchase food and drinks in a galaxy far, far away….

Tried their Kublag spiced savory popped grains and this is a flavor I hope they bring back or keep forever. It's description was mild spicy cajun with a hint of lemon and the flavor was exactly that. It was spicy but not over powering so I was able to finish the whole bag on my own.

Such an immersive Star Wars experience! Totally awesome place with galactic looking popcorn kettles. Makes you feel like you are on some other planet's alien bazaar. I recommend getting the mixed popcorn so you get a bit of every flavor they are currently offering. This visit, it happened to be chocolate and banana mixed popcorn. The Banana tasted like the pleasantly artificial Laffy Taffy banana/banana pudding banana. I personally love artificial banana flavour so if you do too, you'll love this. The chocolate popcorn tastes like the chocolate coating on puffed wheat squares. Both were so delicious and fresh. Highly recommend this stuff!

Yelp
Sadly, no Magic Key discounts here and no mobile order either. It's just a small stop to get either refreshments, popcorn, or whatever seasonal offering that they have here. I got my boyfriend one of those silly Diet Coke orbs and then ordered the dill pickle popcorn. The only places you can get that flavoring is here at Disneyland or at the Cozy Cone Motel over at DCA. Popcorn was nice and fluffy and the dill pickle flavoring was evenly distributed (can be a hit or miss over at DCA). Great and unique snack food. If you love pickles and popcorn, this is a must.

Yelp
On my last visit to Disneyland, ordered a variety of items to share & try, including the Kinyenian Topato Pie, Jogan Seed Oi-Oi Puff, and Dathomir Sprint Slush. The topato pie (2 in an order) was tasty but the side of mint chutney was thin/watery and did not taste like mint. The Oi-Oi puff was soft & fluffy and the ube creme provided some sweetness and smooth texture . It was a bit too sweet but definitely shareable. The slush was watermelon lime flavored, with popping boba and topped with strawberry cream. This was thirst quenching and refreshing!

Yelp
I enjoyed my Dathomir Sprint Slush (watermelon and lemon-lime slush, popping spheres, and strawberry cream). If it was hot, this drink would've been perfection! The drink itself is very refreshing. It's a bit on the sweet side, but not overbearingly so. Love the addition of the strawberry cream cuz it adds creaminess. The watermelon and lemon-slime slush go surprisingly well together! I enjoyed it. Wouldn't actively seek it again unless it was really hot. People who love candy will love this drink cuz it tastes like candy!

Yelp
It was okay... I was on the lookout for flavored popcorn in the park and stumbled upon this one in Galaxy's Edge. Only two options, so I went for the sour cream and chive one. The "Niamos Mix" as they call it. The popcorn wasn't warm unfortunately and it didn't seem freshly popped. The sour cream and chive flavors were really muted. It wasn't very flavorful. I wouldn't recommend it - especially for the price.

Yelp
I'm so glad that Kay Saka's offers more than just popcorn and soda. On occasion, they will offer some limited menu items like char siu chicken legs or chili corn empanadas. This place is great when you just want a snack and not a full entree. It's located in Batuu (aka Galaxy's Edge) and you can find it in the marketplace. No discounts are offered but check out the snacks when you're in the area.
google avatar

Yelp
Usually known for drinks and variety of popcorn mixes located at galaxy's edge. We saw a cast member holding a sign promoting char siu drumsticks, where you get 2 for approximately $11. We wanted to try I since they didn't have a line. The drumsticks are sweet and sticky with decent flavor. The sauce is more wet than dry. I definitely got the char siu flavor with each bite.

Yelp
Anything Star Wars in my inner five year old self's dream come true and that included fun snacks! We got the chips and popcorn. The chips were puffy and seasoned. They tasted like shrimp chips. They were really flavorful and satisfying. We got the chocolate popcorn with sea salt. It was so good! The perfect mix of sweet with a bit of savory. This was a much welcomed treat after standing in line for Rise of the Resistance for quite a while. We were starving but did not want an entire meal, we wanted to eat our way through the park. So this was a great starting place for a wonderful day at Disney. I highly recommend getting little snacks like this if you are a Star Wars fan and just want a bit of fuel to keep on going on the rides. I love the theming and appreciate the attention to all of this world's details.

Yelp
Fun! This outpost mix is colorful and sweet with just a teeny-tiny kick to it. The purple-ish colored popcorn tastes like trix cereal and the red popcorn bits are more mysterious tasting. There is a peppery type of spice for sure. Not a real heat at all. I enjoy walking around the market and looking at all the shops while enjoying my popcorn. If you are a fan of popcorn in general, and kettle corn in particular, you should totally give this a try!
google avatar

Yelp
Jelly fruit muffin tasted good, but it was way too dense for my liking. The line moves quick though and the service is always fun just like everywhere else in galaxy's edge.

Yelp
You won't remain parched on Batuu!! I do highly suggest checking out the unique Soda Bottles here! This is a very simple grain stall in the Black Spire Outpost. It is so small it is almost missable, but just look for the grain machines with red & purple popped grains in them. You will only find popcorn, a souvenir vessel, sodas, and water sold here. There is another item, but it is crossed off. Although the Outpost Popcorn Mix is colorful, it is just so-so in my book. You can purchase an MSE-6 Series Repair Droid (Souvenir Popcorn Vessel) for your popcorn. I would not spend another $6.49 for the smaller than a regular brown paper lunch bag full of popcorn which wasn't particularly good to me. I just had to get it to taste it, and of course, take a few pictures. The red ones were supposedly spicy but tasted saltier than spicy to me and the purple ones were sweet. I would have eaten a bag of purple ones. What I loved were the Thermal Detonator Sodas! They are exclusively sold on Batuu (Galaxy's Edge in CA & FL)! These cool Coca-Cola sodas are spherical in shape and are written in Aurebesh on scuffed up labels. Don't worry, you'll still know what soda you are having! You will find Coke, Diet Coke, and Sprite drinks. Since Coca-Cola also bottles water (Dasani), they have created one for Batuu, too! The Sprite & Coke containers I have will be hung on my Christmas Tree as ornaments this year!

Yelp
Definitely a great and must-stop location while visiting Galaxy's Edge. They have a new twist on popcorn flavors! Although the sweet and spicy combination isn't new, it's the flavors themselves that are super unique! The blue/purpleish popcorn is sweet and fruity, while the red is spicy but not like crazy spicy more of a mellow kick to blend with the fruity popcorn! A great bag of popcorn that is crispy, crunchy, and you get a lot!

Yelp
Outpost popcorn is a great new addition to Disneyland's snack options. A couple were a little on the stale side, but the flavors were really good, a combination of sweet and spicy. They also have a super cool "maintenance droid" souvenir bucket that you can get to hold the popcorn. Since this is still the reserved window for Galaxy's Edge, the crowds were small, so the line for this wasn't terrible. I can imagine a long line after June 23rd!
google avatar

Tina C.

Yelp
I didn't feel like this was worth the hype. The outpost mix tasted slightly burnt and the cheese popcorn had barely any flavor. It's expensive for popcorn but it wasn't worth the price. I personally like the other popcorn options at Disneyland compared to this spot.

Yelp
During our shuttle trips to Batuu we would get the between meal munchies from time to time which meant a trip to Kat Saka's Kettle for some alien grain-based snack. This is the only snack booth in Merchant Row and it is a decent option when visiting the Black Spire Outpost. Kat Saka was a farmer on Batuu and scoured the galaxy for rare spices which she added to the grains grown on her farm to create the Outpost Mix she sells at Kat Saka's Kettle. Kat has hired several locals to operate the stand which offers a menu ( https://bit.ly/2LNwJbw ) consisting of Kat Saka's sweet and savory snack with a few beverage options to wash it down. The only signage for the venue is at the top of the menu board which does say Kat Saka's Kettle... in Aurebesh. The lines can get long at times ( https://bit.ly/2YMFNkr ), but it moves rather quickly with the limited menu which was paired down even further since Kat Saka lost her connection for Rishi Corn which is the item crossed out in red on the menu. If you are curious about Rishi Corn, I suggest catching the next shuttle to Coruscant and visit Obi-Wan Kenobi's old friend Dexter Jettster at Dex's Diner. Dex's Diner carries the corn from time to time at the reasonable price of 3.5 credits. Kat Saka has two machines ( https://bit.ly/2S8TPdv ) popping his grain-based treat, one on either side of the register. There are two ways you can have your grain-based treat, in a regular bag or the modified MSE-6 Series Repair Droid ( https://bit.ly/2JqeKpO ) which comes with a lanyard. The MSE-6 Series Repair Droid is commonly known as a Mouse Droid and were commonly found on Star Destroyers and both Death Stars. The droid was the one scared by an "apprehended" Chewbecca when Han Solo and Luke Skywalker were making their way to Detention Block AA-23 to rescue Princess Leia. On our first visit here, the better half and I decided to pass on the droid and just get a bag of the grain-based snack ( https://bit.ly/2XEFhZe ) and a Coke Thermal Detonator. Thermal Detonators are deceptively powerful explosive devices and would only detonate when activated which made them extremely stable when being carried. Princess Leia threatened Jabba the Hut disguised as a bounty hunter with a thermal detonator. Fortunately, if a thermal detonator ( https://bit.ly/32lmhxs ) from Kat Saka explodes it will only leave the owner covered in a sticky, syrupy mess instead of turning you into a gooey mess a scrubber droid would have to clean up. Rohlinism: It is better to have a gooey mess on you than being a gooey mess on someone else! The thermal detonator drinks are exactly the same as the bottled and canned beverages you can buy on Earth, but a sealed detonator seems to be a popular item on Ebay since the only place in the galaxy you can buy one is on Batuu. The grain-based snack is a sweet and savory snack with the purple colored grains tasting like Fruit Loops and the red colored grains possessing a chili pepper flavor without the heat. The best way to eat the Outpost Mix is to get an even amount of each flavor in your mouth at the same time. Even the better half, who usually hates sweet and savory, agreed it was the best way to eat this snack. The first time we sampled the Outpost Mix was by far the best as the grains tasted freshly popped and the flavors were more pronounced. Our second visit produced a stale, bland bag which we returned for a bag that was in between the first and second bag in both freshness and flavor. Hopefully Kat Saka will eventually bring some consistency to the product being served at her Kettle because the grain-based snack has more potential than the popcorn sold at Disneyland back on Earth.

Yelp
Kat Saka's Kettle is where you can get your popcorn in Galaxy's Edge. The flavors were ok and I was not impressed with the flavors of the popcorn. The pricey spicy red and sugary purple popcorn is served in a small paper bag. The hot and the sweet flavors were there but I was not a fan of the colors or the level of heat (too bland). The popcorn also tasted stale and chewy so I was disappointed that it was not fresh. On your visit to Galaxy's Edge, skip the popcorn. I appreciate that Disney is offering more flavored popcorn options; however, they should learn from the Japanese Disney resorts and use some of those flavors instead. The Coke products are sold here if you want something to help the stale popcorn go down.

Yelp
Outpost Popcorn Mix ($6.49) Mixture of sweet (BLUE) and spicy (RED) flavors. The red is not spicy at all. The blue is sweet and delightful. Eat them together for a different experience!
google avatar

Julie L.

Yelp
Blue is yummy and taste like fruit loops to me. Red tastes like death. Beyond that, I won't ruin it for you. Try it & tell me what you think!
google avatar

Richard R.

Yelp
This was nothing spectacular. $6.49 for a small bag of popcorn, it's just for the environment only. The popcorn was an odd combination of fruity flavors and spices. It was fine but I seriously doubt I will buy it ever again.
google avatar

Dominic L.

Yelp
popcorn flavor here is amazing. the flavor doesn't over power. The texture is crunchy and not stale. Price for a small bag, but it's something to try.
google avatar

Mitzi W.

Yelp
Fruity pebbles flavor. Which would be fine if the popcorn was fresh. But it tastes stale. And unfortunately most people have said the same. Disneyland, please change the recipe of this snack at Galaxy's Edge.
google avatar

Bianca H.

Yelp
I thought the original press kit had the "popped grains" (aka popcorn) with three options: Sweet, spicy and mixed. For now it seems they are only serving this mixed in. I'm not a fan of this. This is kind of the only walk-and-nibble snack in Batuu right now and it's very ok. Galaxy's Edge flavors are ALL about being otherworldly, but the despite the red and purple popcorn have different flavors, it just didn't work for me. The red is spicy, purple is sweet. But both have very... unique sweet and spicy flavors to them. I really don't know how to describe this, and I'm sorry! TLDR: Skippable. Get buttery popcorn somewhere else in the park.
google avatar

Christine S.

Yelp
We were planning on waiting a bit for the Magic Happens parade so I thought I'd try this hyped chocolate popcorn. While it is the perfect parade waiting treat, I wouldn't buy it otherwise. It tastes like coco pebbles mixed with salt. Yummy but not something I feel I wouldn't be able to find elsewhere.

Yelp
If you are looking for some Star Wars themed snacks, visit Kat Saka's Kettle! The snacks look cooler, but in reality are regular foods and drinks. Any snack you have here is delicious, but is a bit pricey what you are actually eating and/or drinking. I really enjoyed the weird looking soda bottles, and colorful treats, but they also tasted good too!
google avatar

Crystal B.

Yelp
One I'm an avid popcorn maker. We have popcorn and movie night every week. So $6 is quite a hit for a bag of popcorn, but it is Disneyland so that is expected. I purchased two bags of popcorn, one on each day we were there. I just got the chocolate one because I love chocolate. It tastes like Cocoa Puffs and yumminess.
google avatar

Deborah Y.

Yelp
It's fun to try but wouldn't purchase again. The popcorn they serve here is a mixture of spicy and sweet, it's very theme friendly and colorful but other than that, I wouldn't recommend getting this at all! It's quite pricey so get one bag to share with your friends while waiting in line so you can get a taste of Batuu if you really want to know what it's all about. There are souvenir items here available for purchase so you can come check them out here!
google avatar

Jessica G.

Yelp
I'm so happy to finally have a vegan flavored popcorn!! The flavored popcorns in Cars Land all have dairy in them, so this is great! The spicy and sweet combo is SO FUN! You can get this in an on-theme utilitarian paper bag or a SUPER cute MSE-6 Series Repair Droid popcorn bucket--mouse droid. We bought one to add to our collection on our first trip to Star Wars land. It's very cute with working wheels. ETA: they had CHOCOLATE popcorn when we went during Christmas, but I didn't ask if it was seasonal. They didn't have that during the summer.

Lisa F.

Yelp
This was a once and done for me. This was actually the food/snack location I was most excited to visit in Galaxy's Edge but the popcorn was so stale I couldn't enjoy it. The special soda bottles were cool but at $5.50 a piece (compared to $4ish for the regular soda bottles everywhere inside Disneyland), they were also a once and done for me. Especially since the sodas weren't even cold. I also bought the repair droid popcorn bucket but it was defective and the lanyard kept disconnecting, so I couldn't carry it for fear of dropping it. Pros: Unique soda bottles New popcorn flavor Cons: Stale popcorn Overpriced, even for Disneyland Nearly room temperature soda Defective popcorn bucket
google avatar

Veronica T.

Yelp
If you're looking for the Thermal Detonator liquid refreshments, this is the place to get them, along with the sweet and savory pop grains. (Don't ask what flavors are used, because Kat Saka uses spices gathered throughout her travels across the Galaxy). Also for sale is the Mouse Droid pop grain transport. It makes an excellent travel companion, or a transport for your Kawai trinkets from the Toydarian Toy Maker). There's no traveler credential reduction, as this is considered an outdoor vending cart, and no discounts apply at any ODV, across the resort.
google avatar

Jessica G.

Yelp
Three stars for the creative concept! My group split the Outpost Popcorn Mix and the consensus was that one popcorn flavor tasted like Cap'n Crunch All Berries and the other tasted like a Tajin Jollyrancher. A couple people in the group seemed to really enjoy both flavors; neither were my cup of tea as my savory/salt tooth is much greater than my sweet tooth. I'll still say it's worth a try for any popcorn fans! Plus those repair droid souvenir containers you can buy are absolutely adorable!
google avatar

Suang P.

Yelp
The outpost popcorn mix is prettier than it tastes. It's supposed to be spicy and sweet. The purple popcorn is sweet and the red is mildly spicy. It's pricey for the amount that you get. It's good to try it out once but probably won't get it again.
google avatar

Jen S.

Yelp
Tastes like a bowl of fruit loops but in popcorn form. Still deciding how I feel about it but it certainly took our taste buds on an adventure which I can appreciate.

Debi M.

Yelp
Thank you Albert and David, natives of Batuu, for helping with our popcorn samples experience last night. I appreciate you sharing all about the spice search and playing your instrument for us. Bright suns!

Maria R.

Yelp
The pop grains were very good. It's supposed to be spicy and sweet but to me the combination tasted like cereal. It's something you have to try if you visit.
