Kate’s bread

Essentially as good as bread gets. Crackling fresh with that yeasty goodness that you get from the finest breads. I think Kate bakes all the breads herself, so she quickly sells out - you must preorder. I drive from Oxnard to Ojai for this bread (and other baked goodies). Totally worth it. The cinnamon rolls are outstanding and the scones are possibly the best I’ve had. Highly recommend The pickup is in a residential area (no storefront) during specific hours.

Had heard lots of good things about Kate’s Bread, in fact just recently read that it was nominated as a top 3 place for baked goods in Ojai. We we had to try it and the bread was some of the best I’ve had. We’ll be going back for sure.

Best bread in Ojai (or...anywhere?). Order everything, it’s all delicious, especially when you eat it warm. ❤️

I only had a single load of Cinnamon Raisin Bread, which I purchased from the Dutchess one morning. And I must say, I have NEVER had bread come even close to this bread. This is literally the best bread I've ever tasted in my entire life, and the three other people who scarfed down that loaf with me agree. It's crusty with a lot of give, super chewy in the middle, gorgeous, gooey golden raisins, and there's a sour pop to balance out the sweetness. I love all things bread, but I don't think I'll EVER find bread as good Kate's again.

I can't say enough great things about Kate Pepper and the amazing breads that she makes I drive all the way from Los Angeles to Ojai once a week to pick up a wonderful assortment sourdough olive loaf croissants and other goodies she may offer up for that week.

Sad to find out that She is no longer in business. I planned the entire trip around visiting her bread shop. Maybe she will come back when she's ready to

The baked goods are very tasty and fresh because you pick them up just after they have come out of the oven! The cinnamon rolls are the most popular but I actually prefer the chocolate croissants. They are satisfying and very bread-like. One croissant can be a meal! They are very filling. The communication via website and social media is flaky and unclear. But Kate makes up for it in the kitchen with her delightful baked goods. Avoid the social media videos-- TMI.

I apologize in advance because I know what I'm about to say is going to be controversial. I ordered some bread from hearing many great things about kate's bread online. FORREAL- you MUST order online beforehand. Kate only bakes for Wednesday and Sunday and she has a form on her website where you can order. I got the croissants, ham cheese croissant, almond croissants and the cinnamon raisin sourdough. The plain and almond croissants were probably the best out of the bunch and would consider ordering again.. maybe. The ham cheese croissant was way too salty. Warning, the cinnamon raisin sourdough is HUGE.. can feed at least 4-5 people.. I accidentally bought 2 lol but just shared it with friends when I got home. The cinnamon raisin sourdough is ok, nothing crazy honestly. I think if I were to come back to Ojai, I would order again and just get different things, just for experience.

This is the best Croissant I have ever had ! You've got to try all her baked goods but hurry because they sell out fast ! What a find this was ! Thanks Kate for baking all this delicious stuff !

We were in Oxnard on vacation and read about Kate's Bread on a Friday, placed an order, and picked it up on Sunday. It is such a good sourdough bread. I highly recommend.
