"Kathmandu Fusion Kitchen is a good spot for a quiet sit-down meal where you can order round after round of momos, drink tea, and have a long, leisurely catch-up with friends. They make our favorite soupy jhol momos, with a vibrant orange broth and an ideal ratio of filling (we like veggie best) to wrapper. Get at least one thali so you can try a little bit of a lot of different things—we’re fans of the goat version. " - carina finn koeppicus, bryan kim

Very authentic nepali food. Amazingly good veg thaali, u can ask for ghee. Good portion size. In our short stay in nyc 3days, we went there twice. We ate all like our picture below 😜. We were so excited for the food and tastes so good we forgot to take picture each time before eating.

We were in the neighborhood and were contemplating where to eat. We searched for places nearby, and this one popped up. However, we were somewhat skeptical since this place has under 4-star reviews. We thought, often times places with lower ratings can surprise you, so we decided to just go for it. The place isn't posh; it's your average local restaurant. However, it had something that a lot of places lack: a homey touch. We felt welcomed, as if we were right at someone's home. We ordered a few items, and they were great. The quality was on par. They offered extra rice and daal at no additional charge. The service was just as great. The waiter took the time to explain dishes that we weren't familiar with. Overall, it was a great experience. We will definitely visit again.

Anyone craving for authentic Bhutun fry ( goat fried inner part) please check this place out, their Bhutun is divine. Perfect texture and balance of masalas. What a pity that the service does not accompany the high quality of the cooking. You can hardly get a smile out of the waitresses.Thankfully the guy server, a middle-aged charming man, is always around willing to exchange some kind words with all his clients. We ordered five different type of Thalis and a set of chicken taas which were equally delicious. Out of all , only drawback of the whole set of food was alo cauliflower very flavorless. So far I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and had a pleasant dining experience with food. Went there again while I was in new york after 5 months , They have improved significantly in service wise and nobody can beat their thali taste and bhutan So I am compelled to give them 5 star

I went to Kathmandu Fusion Restaurant a couple of weeks ago, and my experience was rewarding while some lowlights. First, on the plus side, the food was incomparable because it had intense flavor profiles and as well the food here tasted like home for me. One of the most outstanding dishes served at the restaurant was the momo platter, which had perfectly steamed dumplings with a sour dipping sauce that tied everything together. Their ambiance, too, deserves praise-it's so warm and inviting, with all sorts of pretty Nepalese decoration to make it authentic. However, the service left something to be desired. While the staff was polite, the wait time for both seating and food was longer than expected, which dampened the overall experience. Additionally, some menu items were unavailable, which was disappointing given the extensive offerings. Despite these issues, the quality of the food and the unique cultural experience make Kathmandu Fusion a place worth visiting, especially if you're patient and looking for bold, flavorful dishes.

Google
I recently dined at this restaurant and was very disappointed with my experience. The service was lackluster; despite it not being busy, our server barely checked in on us. To add to my frustration, they included a service fee (15%)without any prior notice, which felt both sneaky and unprofessional. On top of that, they charged an additional fee for credit card payments—something I have never encountered in my many dining experiences. This approach to customer service is concerning and disappointing. Will be the last time visiting the restaurant indeed.!!

Google
Love this place and the food is absolutely amazing. Service is a little bit on the poor side but the food compensates for that. I have tried the veg thali - 5 star hands down Jhol Momo - 5 stars And fried rice which were a little bland so I had to add the sauces. Chilli momo could have been cooked more. Overall the food is excellent and it’s my fav go to Nepalese place

Google
There is always a problem on my order. Sometimes goat sekuwa is fully burned i cannot eat, and sometimes pieces less on momo. This time i ordered chicken jhol momo and paid for extra jhol, timur achar and coriander achar. I didnot get achar i paid extra for and even jhol that comes with momo is so less. This so disappointing. They have to work on their customer service.

Yelp
A lot bang for your bucks, especially for take out. I could easily make it into two meals. Service could be better and faster, but overall it's a good experience . We always order thali here, can't speak about their momo .

Simone L.

Yelp
Lots of people mentioned poor service. I'm not surprised - recently we had to order rice three times in order for them to give it to us, and it seems like it was because of their limited English. That's fine and expected in queens, but if you don't understand something, tell me you don't understand so I don't end up waiting 20 mins for a plate of rice. Anyway, I still am giving this place 4 stars because we will always go back for the good food and cheap prices. We always get the tofu chili, veg thukpa, and sometimes the veg momos. I tried the jhol momos before and those were pretty good, but man I tried the steamed momos recently and they are bomb, so much flavor on the inside. Plus I finally got to try their house sauces that they always put on our table, and finally understood why those were their signature sauces (yum). I order butter tea almost every time I'm there and it always tastes great, has a bit of foam on top which I like. Never watery like some other places. (They took away my butter tea early without me noticing though one time and I was sad ) They do include a service charge in their bill each time so watch out for that when you tip. I would actually give this place 3.7 if I could but yeah you get the point.

Yelp
This was the worst experienced. Waiter cant even take a correct order. I went out to eat with my family but ended up eating alone because the order was taken wrong. They need to improve the service. As a whole very bad experience.

Ash P.

Yelp
This place has the best damn beef sukuti thali that can compete with the best of them in Nepal.

Tashi P.

Yelp
This salad was 9 dollar and the onion was not even cut properly. This salad looked like it should have come free on the table. The Veg Chowmein I ordered came dried and very few veggies.

Aachal G.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite restaurants in NYC. They have the best frozen momo, and you can always depend on the quality of their food. However, if you can't handle spicy food, be sure to ask them to go easy on the spice.

Annie G.

Yelp
Right when we walked in, the manager greeted us and was prompt in getting our order in. A lot of the diners there were Nepali and it looked like a staple community spot. We ordered the chilli chicken and chilli chicken momos and got extra spicy. The wait for the food wasn't long. The momos were crispy and full of chicken. The wrapper isn't thick and doughy like other momo spots in the area. This restaurant uses their own homemade momos so you know what you're eating is fresh. There were so many veggies and onions making the dish a whole meal. I had leftovers enough for dinner after. The prices were reasonable and can't wait to go back!

Kunsang K.

Yelp
Experienced the worst service today. A short, rude server, who appeared of Indian descent, refused our seating request near the heater in an empty restaurant. Later, when using the restroom, he rudely denied access, scolding another employee who told me to use it. Despite being regular customers who tip well, this disrespectful encounter was unexpected. Servers should prioritize treating customers with respect; it's unfortunate our experience reached this point. If the owner has a camera I would recommend he look at it and see how much potential money he lost. I usually go in a big group but wouldn't be going back in anymore just because one server didn't know act right.

Nic F.

Yelp
They copied the name of another Nepalese restaurant right next to it. Pain in the ass picking up. Do not order from neither until one of them changes their name.

Samichya R.

Yelp
Goat Taas and veg thali were filled with flavor. The thali here is way better than the on in bhancha Ghar. They offer a variety of achar/chutney and come around offering seconds. Server was attentive and service was pretty good.

Arlenis J.

Yelp
The first two times that we picked up our food from Uber Eats, they had us wait 20 minutes longer than the estimated time we were supposed to pick our food up, and we live just about a 15-minute walk over there! They didn't even tell their cooks to start cooking once they received our order slip the BOTH times we went there to pick up our food. The space is WAY too small, so you're bound to bump into someone drunk and rude, so it wasn't even worth staying in to eat. And every time I go over there to announce that I'm picking up my Uber Eats order, they have been impolite. I'm not sure if the servers there are purposely racist towards East Asian or Black people (I'm in an interracial relationship with my Chinese fiancé), but it's been our THIRD time with this location. As much as I wanted to give them another shot, this afternoon was the third and final time they had been this way to us. My fiancé felt disrespected when we were there. I have been civil and even contemplated talking to a manager to discuss this. Still, that final time set me off to the point where I decided it was not worth confronting, and I will buy momos and a mango lassi at Momochai the next time I have a craving. If a manager or owner is reading this, please do better and hire servers who don't play stupid with their customers and never give the exact change back. The people at Momochai are more polite and professional in this neighborhood, they have a wider selection of momos (tbh), and they don't try to treat their customers like shit, so I think I'll go there for now ‍

Yelp
Best Nepali food in NYC hands down and probably the best outside Nepal period. Tastes just like home. Reminds me of thaalis at Jimbu Thakali in KTM. The regular thali is great. Momos are flavorful with a really nice achar. And the dhendo thali is on point, too. A must for anyone who loves Nepali food. Kamala didi is the best.

Tara W.

Yelp
Such and amazing food and service. The service was fast and the server was great. Would go here again. It wasn't crowded at all so we sat indoor. The fish and veg thali was great. Thank you

Sudin S.

Yelp
Tried this place after a long time. Their momos have definitely improved. I had the jhol mo:mo. While the jhol was tangier than my tastebuds would approve, the momo was good. I also had the wai wai sadheko and the choila there. The wai wai sadheko was very salty and lacked flavor. The choila was better than most places but would have been better served cold. Topped it off with a masala chai at the end which was pretty good as well.

Chalan K.

Yelp
I went there with my brothers yesterday morning.we tried dhido and fried fish curry ,fish was steal and had a bad smell , my brother tried chicken curry and even the chicken wasn't that good either.service was ok and ambiance wasn't upto the mark.

Tashi S.

Yelp
Great food with a great service!! I stopped here today with my friends. Came here after 2 years approx. And, nothing has changed so far. We ordered aloo dum, chicken steamed momo, fish fried thali, and jhol mom. They were all very delicious, and authentic. 1st aloo dum that we got on the table, something was missing on it and didn't taste like I anticipated it to be. Later, we told the waiter about this aloo . He took it with him and made us a new one. 2nd aloo dum was spicy and great . Momo: It was very juicy and yum. Dumpling was served with 3 different types of chutneys. Some of them was spicy, and some of them were mild. Lastly, fish thali was great as well. One of the best thali I've ever had in NYC. I love this place and this is a legit nepali restaurant. Food is always great here and so are the prices. Will definitely come back:)

Sonam Y.

Yelp
The food tasted ok until I saw the label on the peppers. I wonder if it was even washed now. Seriously, I am scared to eat from them again. plus don't forget to check your bill. They never return your change. horrible service and dirty kitchen!!

Juan J.

Yelp
Amazing restaurant; really authentic food. Momos are really good, will be coming back!

Heloise L.

Yelp
It was my first time having Nepal food in New-York and I definitely recommend! it was delicious all the dishes came (Momo soup & Dhido) with a lot of flavors and it am incredible culinary discovery for me ! I will definitely come back! and also the owner of the restaurant and his staff were so welcoming and kind!

Frank O.

Yelp
Whoever wrote bad reviews here have no idea what they r talking about. This place is authentically delicious, warm, welcoming and very affordable. Lama took care of me and he was amazing. I will be back and I will be spreading the word of this hidden jewel

Anna K.

Yelp
This place is not allergen/veg friendly!!! Our waitress was very unknowledgeable about the dishes when we asked for recommendations, she basically read the menu back to us. I also found an unidentifiable chunk of meat in my vegetable soup, after mentioning to the waitress several times that i needed a dish with no meat in it. Not to mention the noodle soup itself was completely mediocre. Thankfully we ordered chili momo as well so i was able to put some of the sauce from that into my soup to give it some flavor. The momos were the only *decent* part of our meal, but i have still had better ones in Sunnyside. Would not come back. There was also another man that was working that seemed very nice, maybe the owner?, but unfortunately it wasn't enough to save our visit. Please educate your servers on the importance of food safety and allergens as well as the difference between the dishes.

SERENE N.

Yelp
"Fusion" here does not mean different culinary traditions combined in a single dish. It means "we do more than one cuisine here." Judging from what we've had on our two visits, they do it pretty well (though we've mostly had Nepali dishes). We've had goat sekuwa, chicken samaya bajee and goat thali. The goat sekuwa and chicken dish came with flattened rice -- something we had never had before. It was unclear whether we were supposed to re-hydrate the rice since the dishes were not accompanied by a gravy or sauce. In any event, all of the flavors were on-point. We will return.

Sandy S.

Yelp
I mentioned maybe..depends what you order..let me explain you what happened: I ordered chicken chili which was menued $11 and they charged me $17. I asked him (i don't know what his name but he told me at first he is the owner) why they overrated? He said "he is giving me rice" which was not mentioned on the menu even the price of rice too. Thali is good as usual but be aware, they charge like any price they want. At last he said, "we are in America".

Tosh G.

Yelp
I've been meaning to try at Kathmandu Fusion Kitchen since a long time ago because I've heard a lot of good things about it from my friends. We were seated by the waitress and it seemed like a slow night. We ordered the wai wai sadeko as an appetizer and I got the chicken thali for my main. The wai wai sadeko was just perfect, had the right amount of spice and all the ingredients just felt right. The thali was very good especially the chicken and the gravy. I also tried the beef chowmein and it tastes y good!!! The only reason I didn't give a 5 star rating is because the rice was a bit thick not sure if that's how it's usually served or not. Other than that I had a very pleasant time at restaurant. The waitress was friendly and I'm glad my friends recommended this spot. I'll definitely be back

Tom D.

Yelp
What it lacks in decor, it makes it up in spades with delicious food. The owner is very friendly and is happy to explain the dishes. Highly recommended!

Marie C.

Yelp
We were here on Saturday for dinner. We got a goat tass, jhol momo and chicken thali. The thali was really good and I love the thali at this place. The jhol momo was not the best. The goat tass was good.

Bernadette B.

Yelp
The food was very tasty, specially the momo. Service could be bit more better. Had to call the waiter over couple times because I didn't receive my chai tea and the need extra rice.

Jerry A.

Yelp
I bought their frozen chicken momos which I have been buying often but this time to my disappointment most of the momos were open . Which means less juicy . I used to love it before .

Cheme D.

Yelp
Never again I order beef momo and they send 4pic pork n 4pic beef,, That so annoying Never again..

Santosh C.

Yelp
Ordered so many times from here! Near from my house and easy to order and service is quick. Lady who work there (Didi) is one of the sweetest person I've met! She always make sure we get our order right. Highly recommended!

Shiks B.

Yelp
Kamala DD is the chef here and the food couldn't taste better!! Amazing. Loved the local chicken thali and momo is .

Abhishek H.

Yelp
We waited more than 30 mins for just the appetizers. We didn't mind waiting that long hoping the food was being prepared fresh but no, it was microwaved. The meat was very hard and chewy. Also it was all bones. We didn't even bother ordering entree and just left. Very disappointed.

Sapphire N.

Yelp
Discusting service, ordered for jhol momo and they gave me a small box of pickle saying thats jhol, nevwr again......

Stacie C.

Yelp
I thought that the food would be spicy based on what the nice lady at the counter said. The sauce that the chicken came in was really really good but there was couple of things wrong with the chicken itself. It taste dry, I couldn't figure out if it was real meat and/or frozen. I am pretty sure it wasn't freshly made chicken or whatever it was. The customer service was great thought

Lam N.

Yelp
I came here with two Nepali friends, who guided me through their most delicious dishes of their food culture. This is a casual restaurant, but the food is excellent and the portion size is generous. I will definitely come back to try other dishes on the menu.

Joanne J.

Yelp
Excellent food! It gets pretty busy at their peak time so make sure you go there during off peak time either before 6pm or after 8pm!

Kalo K.

Yelp
Great thali. Had goat sukuti thali and momos, and it was really good. Honestly, probably the most authentic Nepali food you can find in the city. The restaurant is quite spacious, and the service is quick.

Pooja S.

Yelp
I love the food it's so many option you got in thali & food quality is same like homemade omg I am go glad after 5 years I eat nepali food ! Please guys visit there price also very reasonable definitely visit again

CJ S.

Yelp
Based upon previous reviews, and this is reminder not base impressions upon previous reviews, I had imagined going to lunch in a lackluster environment with slow service. I was met with quite the opposite; during Monday lunch service, the place was packed, like almost every table occupied -packed. The aroma of mixed spices filled the air. The one lone waitress kept up with it all, quite efficiently. The food is varied and delicious. Each flavor in the thali was balanced and distinct. The hot sauces are also quite good.

Cindy H.

Yelp
Best fucking C momo you will ever find in NYC. And Thali especially. Oh my lord damn good. We always order for pickup and the estimated pickup time is always okay.

Rikzen S.

Yelp
This restaurent is a disaster. Been ordering neplese food as neplese from couple of months. Items been missing every time. And not improved . RIP OFF.

Anana P.

Yelp
kitchen is extremely dirty. caught them cleaning stuff wearing old gloves and handeling food for customer with same gloved hands. very rude. bad customer service. i heard they treat very bad to new employees also. terrible. food might be tasty but no humanity.

Ronak S.

Yelp
This is rebranded from an earlier Curry Hill Nepali staple (Dhaulagiri Kitchen). Food is always delicious and on point. They have a nicer and bigger space now, in Woodside, as compared to their previous location on Lexington Ave. Worth the trip if you need a Nepali fix!

Riti C.

Yelp
Delicious yummy food. Their sauces were so different and distinct! I can't wait to order from them again(goat thali)! My favorite are their soups (thukpa)!

Pooja U.

Yelp
Amazing. Don't care about the service as the owner is always welcoming. We used to eat at Dhaulagiri in Manhattan and it's the same taste here. Best thali and Momos! They need to add the rotis though

Jenesh N.

Yelp
Worst restaurant ever. Waited over 30 mins for Jhol Momo only to find out they never made the order so I reordered and it finally came after 20mins. After first bite I know it didn't taste and smell right. The meat was sour and instantly spit it out. Worst fking restaurant ever took some fried rice to go. Avoid this restaurant at all cost I heard this place is know for its horrible service and expired food. Reporting this place so they can get their sh*t in order so no one else gets sick.

Samden K.

Yelp
Slowest restaurant ever... been waiting for more than an hour and half for my food. Don't ever get delivery from here

C G.

Yelp
I loved their Thali; I am vegetarian and they have delicious thali with Pickles and curry etc; but they are careless and awful in takeout and delivery; I ordered vegetarian Momo and they put one meat Momo which is reckless ; they can be sued for that but since they are nepali fellas I am leaving it but they should be careful and I hated it !!!!!hope they get better in their service especially in this time with no dine in!!! I refrain from ordering veg Momo from them;

Priza M.

Yelp
My first visit to the restaurant and such a bad experience. There was a large party already and when we walked in, they were literally staring at us. That is not a way to comfort your customers. On top of that, they didn't even greet a hello. We had to go ask them with hello, where to sit, and everything. We were told that there were no seats available and we said we'd wait but the waitress told us it would take time. We asked if we could take out but all they had was "thali". Seriously? The name is fusion kitchen and all you had got was thali? It would have been understandable if we were there late at night but it was evening around 6pm. Horrible first experience in terms of customer service, food and I don't think I'm ever going back.
