"Owned by the same family as Katie’s Seafood Market, this seafood house located on the Galveston channel serves up waterfront dining with fresh seafood that comes right off the boats to your plate. The menu features a stuffed crab platter, parmesan Texas gulf shrimp piccata, and a catch of the day fileted, grilled, and cooked in your choice of Creole, German Schnitzel, and Caribbean." - Marcy de Luna

"You can’t get fresher seafood from Katie’s Seafood House, an oceanfront restaurant that catches its own fish straight from the Gulf of Mexico. Katie’s does right by the fresh seafood, too, offering immaculately-cooked boiled crab and shrimp, fresh oysters, and fried seafood platters. Stop by Katie’s Seafood Market, located in the same parking lot, to bring some of that fresh-caught seafood home." - Lane Gillespie, Brittany Britto Garley

Katie's Seafood House is quite a nice place! Pending on the time of day that you plan on showing up, it would be worthwhile making a reservation the day before! We had a 1:30 reservation for Saturday, while a family member showed up earlier than scheduled and the wait time would have been 45+ minutes. The seafood is fresh, they are one of the few restaurants in Galveston that's boat to table as their market is right next door so all of the seafood is as fresh as can be. Connor waited on us and was pretty awesome! The food was fresh and delicious, the fried green tomatoes were amazing, I enjoyed the Butternut crab soup, and the fried fish and shrimp platter. My wife had the Caribbean salad which she enjoyed. Just about everyone in our party. They do not charge a gratuity for parties of 6, and possibly more. We would definitely comeback.

Ok if you love fresh seafood then run to this Galveston establishment. With their own fishing fleet for fresh caught seafood every day and a chef that knows how to create a menu. I eat here every time I am in Galveston. Casual atmosphere. Wonderful deck. Huge parking lot and the cleanest bathrooms. I can’t say enough how delicious the food always is. Huge portions. I always share.

Let me tell you something!! I have found a new top 3 on my list restaurant!! Absolutely everything we tried was excellent!! The chef was on his game today. There was not one thing we had that was not great. We started with salads that were fresh and the dressings so good. We had a Mexican style shrimp cocktail that really could've been a meal in itself. Really worth the money it was big enough for us to share plus one. Penny had some boiled shrimp that came out cooked perfectly. Penny had a Shrimp and fish platter (tile fish) both cooked perfectly and brought to table piping hot. I had Shrimp pastalaya. It was so flavorful and tasty. Sauced perfectly and had great seasoning. We also ordered their garlic cheese bread and man it was good, it was a perfect companion to our dinner buttery, cheesey and full of garlic flavor. When we completed our meal we didn't think it could get any better and actually were prepared for a let down as we ordered dessert. Then they brought out the Pinacolada cheesecake. Wow knock your socks off!! So good and what an ending to a great meal. The prices were reasonable for a wharf side Seaford restaurant. And actually I was pleasantly surprised at the cost of the meal. Not cheap but man worth every Penny. The service was excellent Penny has a slight allergy to Cayenne pepper and the chef accommodated us with no issues. We had no less than 3 managers stop by our table to make sure everything was good. I can tell you I have already made plans to come back for mother's day, Father's Day, my birthday, ground hog day and any other excuse/ reason to eat here again!! I will include some pictures. I will say that we already started eating when I decided to leave a review so the pictures are of our dishes after we started not your magazine cover pictures. I highly recommend a stop here next time you're in Galveston.

If you ever get a chance to visit Katie's seafood, definitely go! Chance was our waiter, and he was amazing. He made great food recommendations(since we were from out of town). We were going on a cruise the next day, and this food doesn't even compete with food on the cruise. Chance's kindness and knowledge of the food, the town, top notch. He made you feel like a VIP. I can't wait to go back to visit him and eat another PO BOY. If you get the PO BOY, don't eat it all. Save some for another meal. I'm telling you, once all of the flavors congeal together. OMG. Delicious 🤤🤤🤤

This was a decent place to have dinner. Our waitress was attentive and we got our food in a timely manner. My steak was tough and a bit too much on the rare side but everything else was good. The cheesy bread was great and so were the hush puppies.

We came here based on the great reviews and tried to make a reservation online—but there weren’t any available. We totally understood why once we arrived! There was a 30-minute wait when we pulled up, which wasn’t a big deal. I grabbed a seat at the bar while my husband stood next to me. After about 10 minutes, a worker came by and brought him a chair—he didn’t have to, but he did, and that small gesture meant a lot! The bartender was also super sweet, checking in on us and keeping us updated about our table. We were lucky to be seated outside—it was a beautiful day with a great view, which added to the experience. Now let’s talk about the food… OMG, the food was INCREDIBLE. Everything we ate was delicious, and we genuinely enjoyed every bite. The whole experience—from the kind staff to the amazing food—was so good, we’ve officially become fans. My husband is already drooling over our next visit!

My wife and I shared the grilled grouper over sautéed onions and bell peppers. Accompanied with black beans and rice and Mexican street corn with some corn tortillas. Presentation is great on the fish shaped fajita plate. $57 for the plate but enough for two especially if you enjoy vegetables. Server was great! Ours was so enthusiastic and truly excited about our order. She did a great job. Ask for Dionessa (spelling, I butcher it, I am sure) We had to eat outside but it was comfortable long wait but, hey, it was Saturday. Grouper was good. Shrimp skewer become over cooked on the fajita cast iron plate. Corn was great flavor. Hard to eat on the cob… would have preferred off the cob. Fried shrimp was solid. Liked it a lot. Didn’t love it. We will come back during the week when less crowded and there aren’t two cruise ships waiting to board.

Father's Day, expected long wait made no reservation. So impressed that the establishment didn't fill their space with reservations. We had the option to sit outside or wait 45 minutes. Obviously sat outside. Our waiter is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Ordered seafood Boudin cajun balls, Mosquito Margarita and Strawberry Banana Breeze. Main course Red Snapper Chefs choice. Rodeo shrimp. Definitely a unique experience and I would recommend. It's reputation of fresh seafood, definitely noticed.

Yelp
10/10 recommend! Service on point. From the server Dee to Manager Wilson. Never had to wait on refills or our food. Dee was very knowledgeable about the menu items and was very enthusiastic about her job. She made the recommendation on the food we got. Not one thing on my plate I didn't like. It was enough for two people to get full.

Brayden R.

Yelp
Our waiter was one the most respectful and kindest person I've ever met. The food was delicious. I definitely will eat here again.

Yelp
Wow! This place hit the spot! Not only did the whole table struggle to pick something but everyone loved what we ordered. I went with the other Yelpers and got the snapper wings. Glad I read up on them because they do have lots of bones. Not a problem for me personally. They had a plenty of meat on them, plus everyone is sharing different foods. Service was amazing. The waitress was on top of everything. Kept our waters full and also asked if we needed a Togo cup of water. Just fantastic! The whole restaurant is on the water and lets you look out over the Bay Area. The whole building is decked out in ocean theme with a nice covered outside area. Parking can be a pain here but if you park in the pay lots ask about getting your ticket validated.

Yelp
We made a last minute weekend trip to Galveston after the storm... after reading so many positive reviews we decided on Katie's. When we arrived, we learned of a limited menu (understandable after such a big storm). My husband and 2 of our kids ordered crab boils... they were so overcooked that it was impossible to get the meat out in any sort of substantial pieces. One ordered the shrimp boil: this was not a boil-- it was boiled shrimp on ice. No seasoning, no corn & potatoes... cocktail shrimp is NOT a shrimp boil. My fisherman's Greek salad was also an utter disappointment. The lettuce was all wilted and clearly had been in a walk in fridge for entirely too long. In addition to the food issues, our server did not bring any sauces with our appetizer, didn't bring butter for 2 of the 3 crab boils, and forgot necessary utensils for every dish ordered (crab crackers & a knife)... and had to be asked several times before bringing them to the table. Spending $200 for 5 people to leave hungry is just not our idea of a positive dining experience. This was unacceptable. The view is cool haha seems comical in relation to today's overall dining experience. I wish we hadn't wasted our money and time. After a storm, if you cannot serve food that is proper for human consumption, you should remain closed until you can.

Yelp
Parking is not the best at Katie's Seafood House. There is designated street parking on a narrow two-way road. Proceed cautiously because you may need to take turns entering/exiting the area. Luckily the restaurant is in the process of building a parking lot. I recommend making a reservation here; this place gets packed. There's indoor & outdoor seating. Such friendly vibes... greeted by a hostess with a RBF upon entry! At least our waiter was nice and provided great service. The highlight of my lunch was a cup of butternut crab butter bisque; super delicious! Kind of wished I ordered the bowl instead. The sauce was good for the Dockside Oysters, but it was a hit or miss when it came to the oyster texture. It was a miss for me... got a tough one that was difficult to chew :( On the other hand, the Galveston Stuffed Oysters were delicious & worth the price. The crab cake was ok, but it was more like jumbo crab meat with stuffing? The crab fingers/claw meat was tasty/stood out more imo. The seafood gumbo was average. The Blue Crab Topped Mac & Cheese was very underwhelming; watch out for remnants of crab shells. Red snapper entree with veggies & mashed potato was very savory. The special of the day was pan-fried snapper + jumbo shrimps. It's tasty, but I don't recommend trying other dishes within your group/party since it'll mess up the taste palette for the special entree (will come off as plain). 4 stars mainly for the memorable/ delicious bisque & red snapper. Worth trying this place once if you're in Galveston.

Yelp
Katie's is definitely the go to spot in Galveston! The food is always hot and fresh! Customer service can be slow at times because; this place is always packed when I visit! Dining is available at the bar in the restaurant or outside. You will smell what the Gulf has to offer but it's not overwhelming and, you might even see schools of fish swimming past as you dine. Clean restaurant and women's restroom.

Kelley G.

Yelp
By @iwanttobewhatieat @katiesseafoodhouse was truly worth a visit for the food. The tile fish schnitzel style was mouth watering. Great location on historic Pier 19 in Galveston. Some of the freshest seafood in town as the ships sell to Katie's Fish Market and the restaurant gets first choice.

Kate C.

Yelp
Wow! Amazing food and service! The Bam Bam Shrimp was AMAZING! The sauce is literally perfection. It is has very super light amount of spice but has some sweet flavors too. The rice makes it a perfect blend. We also tried the crab mac and it was SOOO GOOD! Very creamy and flavorful! We were very impressed! Estella, our waitress was also phenomenal. She was so friendly and quick. The kids also enjoyed their kids meals (shrimp and tacos). The area it is around is also adorable, right by the harbor. We one thousand percent recommend this place!!!

Yelp
We got to this area the day before departing on a cruise and decided to try this place as it was recommended by a few locals. Got a 4:30p reservation on a Friday night as I heard this place fills up pretty quickly. The restaurant also felt a little warm and humid, especially given being on the water. Turn on the AC or something! We ordered a few platters to share (Bayou, fish and shrimp, and shrimp rodeo) and we left unimpressed. The red beans and rice on the bayou platter was quite bland, so that caught us by surprise. Really have to add some spice to make it worthwhile. The fried fish on the platters were okay, but really needed the tartar sauce to make it edible, as it was quite boring plain. The shrimp etouffee wasn't really flavorful either. I feel this place is okay if you're wanting fried seafood, just don't expect anything else to be as tasty. For the prices here, I would consider looking elsewhere for seafood.

Samah K.

Yelp
Came here during the late afternoon and the wait was about 40 mins long to sit indoors. I would definitely make a reservation here before coming during tourist season, because even at odd hours they seem to be busy! Once seated, service was prompt and fast. The pricing is a little high, but the portions are huge and fairly priced. Tried plenty of appetizer, a virgin strawberry daquiri, and tried the bam bam shrimp with a side of the crab Mac and cheese. Food was flavorful and delicious! I would definitely come back. Ambiance was nice too.

Yelp
This was our second time to katie's and it didn't disappoint. We had outdoor seating and at first it as a bit tricky bc we didn't have a waiter at first.... We ended up shoulder tapping one of the waiters, Roger, and he was amazing. From that point on, he took initiative, was incredibly attentive, and kind. He was quick to refill our drinks and checked in to make sure we were doing okay. This really made the experience, and this will definitely be a visit we won't forget. The seafood was great and seasoned to perfection. Can't wait to visit again.

Yelp
We came right when it opened at 11am, and there was no wait. I tried the shrimp mac and cheese ($17). It was a large portion and came with a good amount of shrimp. I enjoyed the noodle shape. It could have been a little creamier. It was also a little on the greasy side. I tried my boyfriend's amberjack burnt ends. It was sadly way too salty to eat. I also tried some of his broiled fish, which had some tender pieces, but some dry pieces.

Sheila R.

Yelp
I didn't know about Katie's until I mentioned to a friend of mine I was going to Galveston. They said "You should eat at Katie's. Soooo Good." So I did. My meal was oyster stew, Butter Poached Yellow Edge Grouper, and Banana Pudding for dessert. All I can say is Shazzam!! This stuff is good. In fact, the best I have had in Galveston. So fresh, because they also have a seafood market. Cleanest tasting fish I have eaten in a long time. Delicious! Excellent service and the place was clean and very pleasant. Don't miss it on your next Galveston trip.

Leandro R.

Yelp
I was on the island for work and a co worker asked me to stop by here and I'm glad I did! Very clean, open restaurant. Smiling faces. Fantastic food. Some of the best I've had in Galveston. I asked for something light and refreshing and the recs did not disappoint. The flavors were bursting in every bite. I have already recommended this place to many people. Only "negative" thing right now is parking because of the construction but should not deter anyone from going.

Roshawnda R.

Yelp
Gumbo was the best!!!! Mac and cheese was tasty and the fried seafood didn't disappoint. Didn't give it 5 stars because we ordered boiled shrimp platter and it came out cold. The corn tasted like it hadn't even been boiled. We sent it back. Waited 15 more minutes and to the touch it was warm. Pick up the food and the underside was cold as if they just sat it under a warmer. It was ice cold and no flavor! The manager did apologize and take it off the bill and gave us a dessert for the inconvenience. I'm just baffled how a seafood restaurant could fumble boiled shrimp and boiled corn on the cob. I would go back for the gumbo.

Lucille T.

Yelp
We had a great view while enjoying some great seafood with friends, who insisted that this place was not to be missed while we were in Galveston for Mardi Gras. We're so glad we listened to them!! My husband and I shared the Fish and Shrimp platter since it comes with a lot of food and we didn't want leftovers. I asked that the fish be grilled and they were very accommodating. The dish was delicious. Even the hushpuppies that were supposed to be spicy were not at all so, which is what I wanted. We have no complaints. The view was awesome and our waiter was wonderful. We will definitely return here when make another trip to Galveston. It's such a great restaurant in a great location.

Marilyn C.

Yelp
Excellent! I am so thankful to Have stumbled across this restaurant while looking to where to take my parents to eat and enjoy the view. We came at about 2 for a late lunch. There was a lovely table opened right next to the waters where we were able to enjoy the view of the boats and the birds. We had ordered a Cajun fish poboy, a noodle soup dish, and a delicious salad. They have their own boats and catch their fish the morning of. Service was excellent as well as they keep frequently to check on us. I have already recommended my friends if they ever go to Galveston to try Katie's.

LaMecia M.

Yelp
If you want the optimal experience when visiting Katie's the first thing you should do is book a reservation. This place is busy and it is the best way to guarantee your party can sit in a timely manner. I booked our reservation about a month in advance. When we arrived we were about 15 mins early but our table was ready and waiting for us which was nice as there were other parties smaller and larger than us clearly waiting as walk-ups. The other thing to know or account for is parking. The lots were pretty full so you should arrive early and expect to pay to park. We had a party of eight which meant we ordered a variety of items based on taste preferences. No one had a bad dish-the only complaint registered was around the onion rings but again it was just a matter of preference regarding the breading. Highlights that I tasted were the crab mac n cheese, beans and rice (from bayou platter), oysters (from broiled seafood platter), the cheese bread appetizer went over well with everyone at the table. For dessert, we tried the lemon cake (don't put too much drizzle on there or it will be overwhelming) and another dessert that was similar to bread pudding-but not. It actually was the star of the des and even the half order allowed 3-4 of us to nibble on it. Note that the online menu may not always match the dine-in menu. My mom wanted something she saw online but it wasn't available but she was able to pivot. They say their seafood is fresh and this is true. Our server Reed took good care of our table, staying on top of refill and other requests.

Kandy T.

Yelp
We've eaten at Katie's several times and haven't been disappointed once. We prefer eating outside, because of the amazing view and also the ability to hear ourselves. (Okay we're old, you do you.) Whatever you do get the snapper wings, and don't count calories, because this is neither the time nor the place. We usually order the bi-catch and normally go with whatever the chef has suggested. And the staff are banging.

Shanda D.

Yelp
I love Katie's and always come to it when we visit the island (which is often). The quality is great, but the price tag is a bit high for the value. You can save some coin by coming at the end of lunch and ordering off the lunch menu and then staying for happy hour and ordering off that menu. Lunch is available from 11-2. Happy hour is from 2-7 (I know, the website says 6 but it's 7). I've confirmed multiple times. You can find the happy hour menu on their website. The ambiance is magnificent. They have a tremendous outdoor deck that is DOG friendly and it has a view of the fishing boats and docked cruise ships. It's equipped with heat lamps for colder days and fans for hot ones. The service is always top notched. The food is always amazing. My typical go to is the gumbo and Greek salad (pictures attached). The gumbo is chocked full of shrimp, oysters and fresh seafood. Today, mine had 4 oysters. Remarkable! But I also tried the fried shrimp and fries today (picture attached). Decent, but I still prefer the gumbo. My husband tried their chilli (picture attached). I tasted it and it was excellent. Highly recommend. We also got the wedge salad (picture attached). A little bit too much going on for me but you might like it. What's also good value during happy hour are the snapper wings. No picture but Highly recommend. They are a bargain during happy hour at $2 each. We like them with the buffalo sauce. All in all, I love Katie's and it's fresh seafood (given that they catch fresh daily). It can be pricey, but there are ways to enjoy without breaking the bank as outlined above. If you're in Galveston, give Katie's a shot. It can get pretty busy evenings and especially during the weekend. So. If you can make it earlier during weekdays, it's a lot less crowded.

Tammy H.

Yelp
Our experience at Katy's seafood house was that out of a chef's dream the seafood was phenomenal and So Fresh and I highly recommend the snapper with a chef specialty style. I really appreciate that. The food comes from boat to restaurant meaning that they catch fresh seafood and cook it right there. For a weekend afternoon it's pretty packed so I would make reservations in advance but the marina is closed so it's hard to get seating outdoors. We just sat by the bar.

Karl B.

Yelp
The service is impeccable. Dinosius (Dee) was great. Super friendly and johnny on the spot with refills. Eager to help you with any questions. They sat us right away. The menu is chock full of boat to table seafood. Not much non-seafood stuff, but they have grilled chicken and steak. The ettouffee was good but a little bland. The grilled shrimp were tasty but a little tough. The veggies were decent. Try the Galveston Paradise cocktail. It was pretty tasty. The place is noisy but tolerable. Overall we enjoyed the experience.

Elaine H.

Yelp
We made online bookings to secure our meal reservations and it was definitely the best thing to do. We arrived about 30 minutes before and it took a while to find parking. When my family arrived we stood in line for a few minutes and many people were turned away with 1 hour waiting times. We were seated right away and greeted with a huge smile from the waiter, he was knowledgeable about everything we asked on the menu. The fish is fresh from next door and trust me it tasted delicious. We had the cheesy bread as a starter and its was big enough for a party of five. I ordered the shrimp poor boy and oh my it melted in my mouth. We had no complaints whatsoever and we are definitely booking for when we go on our next cruise. This place has it going on. Trust me you won't regret eating here. Service was outstanding. Food was FRESHLY made.

TY Y.

Yelp
YUM! Excellent fresh seafood, heated patio dining and smiling service (kudos to Dee!)! You will splurge for meal$, but delicious and worth it! Too much to choose from on the menu, but something tasty for everyone! Overall, 4.5 rated for me on food quality, attentive service, friendly staff and relaxed ambience. Can be a pricey meal, so expect to pay $20-50pp depending your entrees. Full bar available. We were craving fresh oysters, so Katie's got a top review, and they did not disappoint on the 2 dozen ordered; large and tender, they were delectable with cocktail sauce, xtra horseradish or their Mignonette (red wine vinegar with shallots)! And if you're a soup fan, the Gumbo was deliciously enjoyed, plus the Seafood Chowder was hearty, flavorful and creamy with large chunks of fresh seafood. Good starters! The Sizzling Grouper and Shrimp platter was definitely an excellent meal (plenty for 2, or if having starters); it was delicious fresh fish with lump crabmeat atop, 4 grilled shrimp, served with street corn on cob, rice, beans and tortillas. FYI entree cost was $57. The Red Snapper sandwich was yummy! I had it simply grilled, but you could also have it prepared fried or grilled blackened. Served with cole slaw and fries, it's a perfect portion for a meal. Again, pricey for sandwich but fresh off the boat! No room for dessert, but Katie's for dinner was a nice way to cap off our day visit to Galveston! ENJOY!!

Kimber H.

Yelp
We checked into the Harbor House and this restaurant is next door. Not only was it convenient but service and food provided were excellent. We went during their happy hour (M-F/3-6) and it's only available in the bar or outside. Highly recommend!!! Their specials both drinks and food are an amazing deal and the quality is superb.

John W.

Yelp
This place is right on the docks and has a nice feel to it. It's a bit on the touristy side of things but not too much so. The meals were prepared quite well and very tasty. I went with the chef recommendation for the fresh catch which was Golden Tile fish. I've never had this and found it to have a good firm feel to it without being tough. I'm a fan now. This place is hopping. Busy dining and a bar area make for a difficult place to hear (for me anyway). It's not so much that it's loud but a lot of sounds coming from everywhere at once. If you're looking for a quiet, romantic spot, I'd say you should look at outdoor seating perhaps. We were seated inside near the bar.

Andy G.

Yelp
The family and I stopped by one day. This is a nice restaurant! The food was delicious...all of it. The waitress, (sorry I can't remember her name) she was great! Really sold the dishes and the restaurant with a positive attitude and vibe. The pricing is a little steep but, all the seafood is local and fresh. Would definitely go back.

Keri S.

Yelp
It's no secret, we are a seafood family. After moving from Hawaii, you really don't get the greatest when it comes to fresh in my opinion. While in Galveston, I figured here is the opportunity for Texas to shine on some seafood. *crossing fingers*. Had to pull up my trusty dusty, Yelp, and see what it recommended. Katie's Seafood was the winner. The directions take you the the paid parking lots. Before you go that route, there is parking around Katie's that is free reserved for their patrons. If full, then go to the paid lots. They have indoor and outdoor seating. It sits right on the marina so you get to see the cruise ships going on, boaters cruising, and the pelicans swimming around. You'll see people drop some food over occasionally, if you're on the patio, and feed them as well. The service, every time, has been on point. No empty drinks, super friendly, and quick for the check when you're done eating. I appreciate all those things. Now to the food. I've had the oysters, Rockefeller and dockside style. Dockside is my fave of the two. The spicy boiled shrimp, isn't actually spicy, which I also like. It's the right amount of seasoning for me. Dip that with the butter, chef's kiss! The kids mac and cheese, also surprisingly good! It's cheesy and not cafeteria style. Also, HIGHLY recommend you get dessert. Specifically the banana pudding. It's something to share as it is a large portion. You can also take it for leftovers home if it's just for one. :) It's light and not overly sweet. We've been here on 3 different occasions, even brining out of town guests. Yelp didn't disappoint on this one. *high five*

Michelle W.

Yelp
Customer service was great. Super friendly waitress. Very patient with everything. The feel outside even on a rainy day was nice. They had heaters outside for guests. The grilled cheese was generous portion. Only sea to table restaurant in Galveston.

Chassity B.

Yelp
I loved this place! All the staff was great and the manager checked in on us once during our meal. We sat outside on the deck near the dock that is behind the restaurant. It is all open air so you get a nice breeze. I ordered the oysters as an appetizer to share with the table and they were definitely worth the price! They were a great size. I got the fettuccine with shrimp as well and the shrimp were large! Definitely worth it to stop in here if you are ever in Galveston! We were able to walk the strand after because of its close proximity which was great for walking off our meal.

Kartanya B.

Yelp
Visited Galveston for my daughter's cheer competition and seen so many reviews on Yelp for this establishment so I decided to give them a try. I heard so much about Galveston fresh seafood. So I couldn't come to Galveston and not try their seafood. I'm from Louisiana and seafood is my favorite food. We started off with the cheese bread. Which was a French bread loaf topped with cheese. It was really good fresh. Me and my son seafood shared the seafood platter, which the serving was pretty large. My daughter ordered the kids fried shrimp meal. Overall everything was pretty good. The prices were very reasonable for seafood. I would definitely recommend and visit again while visiting Galveston! FYI it's best to make reservations. We had to wait well over an hour for our table.

Mariana S.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I came here for lunch. The service was friendly and attentive and quick. We ordered the fried green tomatoes, gumbo, and bam bam shrimp plate. The friend green tomatoes were the star and would recommend these for sure. The bam bam shrimp was also good. The gumbo has a nice dark roux but was lacking in flavor and the shrimp were mushy unfortunately. Overall would come back but would probably not order the gumbo again.

Jon B.

Yelp
Busy at lunch, so we sat at the bar: - great service - great food (broiled fish and shrimp & crawfish etouffee with blackened fish) - good beer -view of the water

Billy R.

Yelp
The surprising restaurant on the wharf was recommended to us because of the local fresh seafood served in their beautiful kitchen. I will must say I do recommend reservations however we opted to eat at the bar and had a lovely experience. Got to talk to the many people visiting the island, but I cannot tell you enough how delectable the food is. The drinks are made amazingand you will not regret anything about your visit here. I had the deluxe bloody Mary and I used it as an appetizer as well. Very enjoyable.

Yelp
October 8, 2023, I checked in here by mistake... I meant to check in at the fish market! Bought some fresh seafood, which is the same seafood Katie's the restaurant serves... but, I will cook this shrimp and fish myself!

Yelp
New to the area, and first night out. Had to try based on recommendations and friends' reviews - and it not only lived up to the hype, but exceeded. We sat at a perfect table tonight on the deck overlooking the water and beautiful sunset; and Mark was on top of his game! His service was exceptional, and his recommendations were spot on. One of the best crab cakes I've ever had, the shrimp frogs are a must - everything food and drink was top notch. His service - attentiveness and friendliness put our experience over the top. We can't wait to be back soon, and try some new menu items. But definitely getting the shrimp frogs again, and will be requesting Mark H! Job well done to the kitchen, hostess team, and everyone - especially Mark!

Yelp
Fish and shrimp platter was amazing (good flavor) Mac n Chez was creamy and delicious. Creamy spinach had awesome flavor Definitely will be coming back next time we are in Galveston!! Worth the 30-45 minute wait on a Friday night. Alex was friendly and informative about the menu!

Yelp
With Katie's fish market literally next door - surely the best seafood on the island - by far!!! Service was wonderfully warm, attentive, funny and knowledgeable. It's a bit loud if you sit inside but it's just the sounds of excited patrons enjoying the incredible seafood options. We had the seafood cuesadilla. It was so loaded with fish and shrimp it was awesome. Not overly cheesy, flavorful with an excellent chimichurri for dunking!! Wish I had taken a photo! The Ceviche, that I got a photo of! Was wonderful. Easily for two, it's full of seafood and gorgeous slices of perfect avocado. Delicious!! This might well be Galveston's best restaurant!!

Yelp
We were eventually seated on the patio but didn't get greeted by a server for nearly 20 minutes. The fresh fish selections are plentiful and good but nothing i'd rave about. Solid 4 because I really liked sitting over the water.

Yelp
Tasteful food. Great size portions. Calm atmosphere right next to the water! We sat outside and enjoyed the views while eating. Service was attentive and fast. We had the snapper buffalo wings, glazed coconut shrimp, butternut crab bisque(never had the chance to take the photo) and the fish/shrimp and chips. This will definitely be a place I come to again when I'm in Galveston.

Yelp
Hubby & I had such a delightful time here. This place isn't fancy. No table cloths. A rustic vibe on the inside. A nice size casual patio overlooking the boat dock water on the outside. But the place just works. I prefer the outdoor seating. The server said they are a 'boat to table' restaurant. Farm to table I know, but boat...?? Basically the restaurant has their own fishing vessels that catch fish in the morning & at night for the restaurant who then serves the day's catch fresh. They have 3-4 fresh fish and 6 preparation styles for the fish (creole, Italian, carribean, etc). The biggest issue is which fish, which style! Of course there are other choices than fish on the menu but hey, they are boat to table so figure you gotta try their fish. Had to try the snapper wings (fried fish tails) appetizer for the uniqueness. They were nicely fried with a cornmeal batter & tasty. Came with 3 sauces. I'd get them again. The fish did not disappoint. I finally settled on the tile fish, galveston bake style. I had never had tile fish before but got it because the server said it had a taste profile more like crab or lobster. I would not describe it that way but my favorite fish is Chilean & Mediterranean sea bass & while different from those, this fish satisfied me. It's a thin mild fish, not too meaty. I actually really liked the fish & the flavors. Hubby had the fresh snapper prepared, chef recommendation. It was modified to accommodate his dietary (lactose intolerant) concerns. Too often restaurants are unable to alter a dish on the menu without drastic consequences. The kitchen staff showed exceptional skills with alterations and providing a great dish. Had 2 grey goose cosmos! The bartender made them perfectly!! Server provided great service. He was quite knowledgeable about the dishes & able to give clarifications & recommendations. We enjoyed ourselves so much we literally were the last people to leave the restaurant & our server was very friendly & attentive until the end even though I'm sure he was ready for us to leave. I would definitely return here next time in Galveston to check out the other fish preparations on the menu.

Yelp
Food was delicious. Order a cup of the butternut squash soup. You won't be disappointed. Our server, Lucky, was very helpful and friendly. She checked in frequently with us. We also sat outside by the water. Since it had rained, they had these mesh curtains up, but it still felt nice to be out there.

Yelp
Katie's Seafood House has been on my radar for a hot minute. They have great reviews about the food and service, and I can now say the rumors are true. Katie's is located in Galveston's Harborside, and the restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating. This resto is perfect for families or large groups - nothing fancy about the experience; as one Yelper put it, it gave me a "seafood diner vibe" but with elevated food. Our group of seven - two children included - started with the seafood nachos. Y'all... nachos are my weakness, and these were truly seafood nachos, complete with chimichurri grilled fish, shrimp, Mexi-slaw, asiago and pepper jack cheese with taco crema, jalapenos atop - what tasted like - freshly fried tortilla chips. Highly rec if you love nachos. For dinner, my beau had the crab-stuffed pork chop with a (massive) bowl of gumbo. I ordered a golden tilefish with sides. I also got a taste of the hush puppies and shrimp from a dining companion (Miss Brittany B!), and they were everything she raved about. Know before you go: *They technically don't own the lot where they validate customer parking, rather, they pay (I think I was told $15-20 per vehicle), which is generous of a small local business to do for their customers. When you make your reservation, they'll give you instructions where to park, plus the code. *The bar is first come, first serve seating. *Portions are HUGE. My tilefish plate could have fed 2-3 adults, especially after splitting an appetizer. So the pricing is justified (dunno why some customers gripe about it). Overall, this experience was 4 to 5 stars, but what bumped it up to a solid five star rating was the service. This place is busy - like, realllly busy - and the servers are on top of it. Host did his best to seat out group all together, and the manager walked us out and told us more about the biz.

Yelp
Absolutely the freshest best seafood restaurant in Galveston. It's on the water and they have their own boats that dock at the restaurant and bring the fresh catch in every day. Get there early or you will wait in line. Enjoy. Don't miss the Mexican corn. Oh my God I could make a meal just on that.

Yelp
Perfect meal at Katie's. The best food and service in Galveston! Seafood is so fresh! Prices are reasonable. View is fun! Service was the best we have had in a very very long time!

Yelp
We spent a couple of days in Galveston before going on our cruise. We had to stop and get some seafood. Our kiddos got the basic chicken fingers and mac & cheese and they finished it all! I got bisque and this amazing crab dish special they had and it was amazing! Their old fashions weren't the greatest but did the job. Our server was friendly. And the ambiance was that of a fun, casual seafood place close to the water. Come casual and ready to grub!

Yelp
Wonderful restaurant. Reservation required but it's family friendly and casual. All fresh seafood and it is delicious. We had some fresh oysters and the crab cake for an appetizer and they were phenomenal. The fresh red snapper Caribbean style was soo good. Great bourbon selection and great service! Dessert looked good but we were too full. Would definitely recommend for dinner!

Yelp
Food was ok. Not as good as I was hoping for, expected better as it is so fresh. The cooked oysters weren't very hot. Seems they were sitting for awhile before being served. Great atmosphere. And great service, but a little pricey for the quality. I will say you must try their Falcon Dust. It is amazing.

Yelp
The boudin balls we tried weren't all that BUT the entrees!!! Mmmmm mmmm goood! The wait for the food was not long at all and we got really yummy meals! We also tried the banana pudding dessert, although I didn't think it was anything crazy, it's still worth ordering but you'll need to share with one or two people cause it's a lot! Our server was so kind and funny! He took the time to tell us about a little history of the restaurant and owners and I thought that added a little touch to our overall nice experience! We asked for immediate seating and that meant we sat outside and it was so nice watching the sunset during our meal. A cute place for a date or romantic meal

Yelp
Such wonderful food and drinks! The line is always long, and now I know why! We came without reservations and told the wait was 45 minutes. In reality, it was only 25. Nice underpromise! We enjoyed a happy hour cold beer while we waited. Portions are huge, so we opt for a shared appetizer and plate. Even at that, these two could have fed 3. The red snapper collars were amazing. The shrimp parm picatta was over the top delicious. The lightly tart lemon picatta sauce is so refreshing. Being stuffed, we chose to bring our banana pudding back to our vrbo. It was delicious. First time, but definitely not the last.
