Katsuya in Century City is stunning, expansive, high-ceilinged, and beautifully designed. It has that polished, modern energy that immediately sets the tone.
We stopped in for cocktails and a few appetizers before our reservation at Casa Dani, and the experience was excellent. Service at the bar was especially impressive; Ari, our bartender, was attentive, personable, and crafted truly exceptional cocktails.
We ordered the Wagyu dumplings, which were outstanding; rich, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. The truffle-powdered Wagyu slices were another highlight: tender, aromatic, and melt-in-your-mouth.
The Salmon Hamachi with Japanese pear was bright, refreshing, and beautifully balanced, light yet full of flavor.
We also had Uni and Toro sushi (two pieces each), both phenomenal. Silky, fresh, and rich with that deep, clean ocean flavor that only high-quality fish delivers.
I enjoyed the experience so much that I went back for lunch later that week. I ordered their signature lunch set, and it was absolutely the right call. An assortment of different bites, all delicious, served quickly, and at a great value. Highly recommend it if you're in the area during lunchtime.
Overall, Katsuya at Century City is definitely worth a visit, whether for a quick lunch, cocktails and appetizers, or a full dinner. Consistently great food, excellent service, and a beautiful space.
