The Caribbean Jack was more like a dessert than a drink, it was so delicious! The Natsu Mango rolls and Ramen were very good!! Our server was super nice and professional, the atmosphere was relaxed and easy. There's patio seating if you want to sit outside, but it's noisy with traffic. Inside was nice, low lightning, wasn't loud or chaotic. The prices were all very reasonable.

Google
I LOVE this place!! Great selection of sushi and small plates. Service is always wonderful and the price can’t be beat! Try the wagyu beef tataki! The steak melts in your mouth it was so delicious! They also have some great lunch specials!!

Google
This has to be the best sushi I have ever had in my life. The fusion of flavors here are prepared by master chefs who are generous in the portions of ingredients and present each roll as a work of art. The Miyazaki roll is a sight to behold. We also got the my darling roll and the sugarhouse roll. The rolls were so fresh and flavorful every bite had me wanting more. The meal ended with fried cheesecake so sinfully good I was shamelessly lapping it up like a dog drinking from the bowl. We will absolutely be back. I am so glad we found such a great spot in the city.

Google
Very good Japanese food. The quality of the sashimi was outstanding. As it was a very warm day, we had a cold soba with vegetable tempura which was also excellent.

I was about to write another review not realizing I had already wrote a five star review for this place. I have come here so many times I’ve been too many other sushi restaurants in Salt Lake specially near downtown and this place I would say is even better than sapa the fish is fresh. The service is great and the food/menu is even better. I’ve never had a bad experience here and I’ve probably been here about 10 to 15 times I’m from San Diego California and so I feel like my expectations of sushi are high. I would absolutely recommend this place to anybody

Google
The staff is wonderful and so was the food! Probably some of the best tasting appetizers I’ve had at a sushi restaurant. Highly recommend to try the variety of them. The atmosphere was cozy and didn’t feel crowded even when they were busy.

Google
Wow - amazing! I typically eat at Itto Sushi but they were booked tonight so I tried this place. The quality of their sushi is amazing, the fun music playing in the background was perfect, my server was best in class and had a spicy attitude - fun! My new favorite sushi place in SLC. Huge bonus there have outdoor seating so I could enjoy the beautiful weather!!!

Google
Me and my friends went here after lunch. Kaze Sushi Bar & Grill is walking distance from Main St. The food was fantastic! Especially the takoyaki and the cripsy tuna sushi. I also commend our server, she's very nice and attentive with our tables and our needs. They also have a lot of seating and space for groups of people dining. Overall, I loved my experience and would definitely go back.

Yelp
The lighting and decor that Kaze offers is comforting and feels elegant. The service was quick and efficient ! Our appetizers came out quick and were hot ! Our main dishes were two ramen bowls, I got a vegetarian option for my bowl. The ramen broth was a bit bland - for my taste. I also wish the eggs were not half boiled but soft boiled like many traditional ramen places. Kaze isn't anything out of this world but was definitely a good stop !

Yelp
To start, we parked about a block away and had to walk past several homeless encampments, which made the walk a bit uncomfortable--especially after being yelled at by someone along the way. Not the restaurants fault, but something to be prepared for. The restaurant has the ambiance, good music, dim lighting and fashioned like a higher end restaurant. I appreciated that the restaurant was open on a Sunday afternoon, but unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to expectations. Our table upon being seated was left dirty with dried soy sauce splotches which left little room for appetite. I feel they concentrated on presentation as the food an atmosphere looked great, but the taste didn't match. I found myself wishing I had waited for my favorite spot, Iddo Sushi, just down the street.

Yelp
Everything we ordered was flavorful! The sushi rolls were beautifully plated and packed with great texture and taste. The appetizer was a standout--creamy, spicy, and perfectly cooked. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the ambiance was relaxed and welcoming. Highly recommend if you're craving quality sushi in a comfortable setting!

Yelp
First time at Kaze tonight and I can safely say that they are my favorite sushi restaurant!! I can't wait to come back!! Service was a little slow, but worth the wait! We had Eccles tickets so we were on a timeline, otherwise it wouldn't have mattered. Vibe and decor were great! I had a sake flight to drink and my husband and I shared the Tempura Greens appetizer! Shishito peppers are my favorite!! He got the Unagai Donburi (eel and rice dish). I got the Avocado Roll and the Spicy Scallops Roll. For dessert he got mochi balls and I got the green tea affogato!! It was amazing!!! Everything was great! Like I said before, I'd come back anytime because everything was so enjoyable!!
google avatar

Yelp
The food was really good. The tempura was crispy and light. Yakissoba tasted like original Japanese sauce, not your typical teriyaki sauce. Udon ramen was on point. The sushi though, was outstanding. The fish filling was hearty, not the usual skimpy amount and it tasted very fresh. Service was good. Food came out fast. Ambiance was cute, low key, dimmed lights. The outside seating option is nice :) Totally recommend it!

Yelp
I've been to an abundance of great Japanese cuisine and sushi restaurants and bars all over the United States - and Kaze is the best I have ever been to! They consistently make the greatest sushi, yakitori, tempuras and ramens and specialty dishes, and their bar selections are all perfect. The staff is as friendly and comforting as any restaurant I have ever been to. I look forward to my next outing here!!!

Yelp
Food - 3 Service - 2 Value - 2 I came her with a group of 6 others for work. While most in my party enjoyed the food (everyone else other than me was Caucasian), I felt my food (unagi bowl) was just average. To top it off, it must have taken 45 minutes for our food to arrive -- and there was maybe one or two other small parties and there did not appear to be a lot of takeout orders either. I would not come back here.
google avatar

Christine L.

Yelp
Came here recently, and I have to say, the sushi was amazing! I got the Spicy Tuna Roll and the Regular Salmon Roll, and they came out super fast--no waiting around, which is always a win in my book. The flavors were on point and super fresh. One thing to note: their hours are a little different from what's listed on Yelp, so just double-check before heading over. But honestly, it was worth it! I used a Groupon to save a bit of money, and it made the experience even better!

Yelp
Great delicious calamari and sushi, there's a lot to try from here. The downside is finding parking but there's a parking garage next to the building.
google avatar

Yelp
Late night nibbles at Kaze on a weekday. We enjoyed it being quiet with few patrons in the dining area. We enjoyed Nigiri, the Spider Roll, Tokyo Roll and Ozora roll - all very good. The Natsu Mango roll was too sweet for my liking, but my date and friends liked it. The Sake selection here is good, and it was great to see that they had Kikusui Funaguchi Nama Genshu in the yellow can - delicious! Table service was excellent and our glasses were never empty.
google avatar

Yelp
Fish was great. Sushi rice was bad. I've never had sushi rice with hard pieces of rice in it, but I had it here. It's almost as if they used day old rice or somehow didn't add enough water when cooking their rice. Sugarhouse roll was delicious, would order again if the rice was made correctly. Negihama roll had a surprise dab of wasabi in each roll. We checked the menu and it says "Negihama and scallions" so I'm not sure who decided to add wasabi tonight.
google avatar

Yelp
The front door says they close at 10:00. Here it says they close at 9:30. When customers walk in at 9:10, they should be seated should they? They did allow us to place a takeaway order. Luckily it was a balmy 42 degrees outside and so we were able to sit in the park a block away to eat. Good thing their sushi is amazing!
google avatar

Yelp
Great service, cool music and superior sushi rolls. I wish I drank more alcohol because I would have enjoyed a drink, they have a good looking drink menu.
google avatar

Yelp
WOW! So impressed with this place- the ambience and music as well as the service. The food was fantastic. We ordered the pork gyozas as an appetizer, and almost decided to order more instead of sushi after trying them. All the rolls were great! Our favorite was the Vegas roll. Will definitely be returning!

Alexis K.

Yelp
Vacationing and was craving sushi. Kaze did not disappoint at all! The food was amazing and the staff is attentive and friendly! Great ambiance and music. The food came out relatively quick as well. We got the harajuku sushi roll, the grilled scallops, and izakaya yaki udon meal. We will be back tomorrow before heading back home!

Alejandro V.

Yelp
Food was amazing and delicious. Had the Bento box Salmon and cook perfectly. Also had the rice less Kyuri Roll, salmon, tuna, spicy crab, avocado wrapped in cucumber slices out of this world delicious. Service was also 5stars. The ambience and decor were very elegant. Thank you sushi chef and Suzy

Amy H.

Yelp
The food was delicious and Suzy was very friendly and attentive! Would definitely recommend. The food portions were large and the pricing was accurate for the amount of food you received.

Shyla J.

Yelp
So good! We were sat immediately on a early Saturday evening. Service is a bit slow but I understand given the amount of guests in house and quality of the food. It was very cute inside, modern with plants and wood, and our server was sweet and attentive. I got the tonkatsu ramen and two rolls and my friend got the sashimi platter. Very reasonably priced! I'll be back next time I come to visit.

Based Foodie O.

Yelp
Overall: Aesthetically pleasing and slick ambiance can't quite rescue inconsistent menu items, though low prices helped make the meal worth it. Some apps were strong, while entrees fell flat in flavor. Appetizers: Takoyaki ($6) - Good value for this app; 6 large balls for 6 dollars, with good flavor and perfect crispiness. Ika Geso Karaage ($7) - This Japanese fried calamari was crispy and well seasoned, but sadly, overcooked and rubbery. It pains me to write this, as it was truly delicious! Gyoza ($7) - This was a strong entry, with good filling and great flavor. Entrees: Chicken Teriyaki Plate ($15) - This entree was just fine. The chicken was cooked nicely, flavor was pleasant, but at the end of the day, was comparable with good takeout food. Beef Fried Rice ($13) - This one was a letdown. The rice was bland beyond belief, and the beef was so rubbery and overcooked, it almost tasted of shoe leather.

Yelp
The best service was at this restaurant. The sushi was fresh the sashimi was amazing. I highly recommend this place if in the mood for sushi.
google avatar

Yelp
The small but well served restaurant is a great fry for those looking for sushi in the downtown core. It's selection isn't the best but they make up for it with excellent service and also creative use of what fish and ingredients are available. I would have given it a 3 but was impressed by their Kyuri roll. It was original and delicious.
google avatar

Meli A.

Yelp
The sushi was decent but not impressed with the atmosphere, etc. I sat right next to a couple apparently on a first date (even though there a lot of other empty tables) and I didn't appreciate being insulted by one of them. Also, if someone asks for a physical menu, just oblige them and say "yes". I was going to order more food but I knew I would be better off going to another restaurant.

Yelp
Kazé (take note of the pronunciation since the waitress sternly corrected me) is one of those sushi restaurants where the food is pretty good, but not really memorable enough to want to return since the service sucked. Our waitress seemed so bored and bothered when taking our order. She didn't come by for wine refills and we had to flag her down to order more food, water, and get the check. The plum wine was super sweet, so I'm glad we didn't decide to get a bottle. The hamachi jalapeño didn't taste very torched and the slices were so thin, but I enjoyed the ponzu sauce that it had. The salmon belly and baked mussels were good and had the same eel sauce. The Kaze roll was my favorite. I liked the salmon and tuna it had with the crispy lotus root on top, but I didn't taste any habanero sauce. The Natsu Mango was also tasty, but I wouldn't recommend the Kyuri roll because these were not easy to eat in one bite and had too much cucumber. Most places remove the skin but it was left in tact and made it so I could hardly taste the fish inside.

Yelp
I had a terrific experience at lunch today, absolutely loved the ambiance and decor (little origami hanging near each table) and my crunchy salmon roll was so tasty and had great texture. It was also perfectly rolled and cut. I would definitely come back anytime I'm in SLC.

Ori F.

Yelp
Great Ramen & Service, salads were solid and well priced too. Good vibe and well priced
google avatar

Stef S.

Yelp
We love Kaze!!!!! The service is great, the food is delicious, and it's a beautiful setting.

Matthew R.

Yelp
The staff are all extremely polite, have good food and drink recommendations, and check in if you need anything else or have any issues just right, not too often and not too infrequently. The ambiance is perfect for occasion. Solo dining, friends dinner, or a date. The gyoza is great and the playboy is my top recommendation. The only thing to be wary of is it is downtown so there's no free parking to be had anywhere.

Tyson U.

Yelp
My Darling 10 Mango 8 Sugarhouse 10 Edamame 6 but tiff like it Salmon sashimi too small. I'd rather get another roll
google avatar

Auriel A.

Yelp
No frills ambiance but incredible sushi at an incredibly reasonable price. Will definitely be back next time in SLC!
google avatar

Ning L.

Yelp
I've been here since 6.40 pm and until now 7.10 I haven't had any food even though the restaurant doesn't have many customers. The table behind me Got all the food. I thought it was very bad service. I ordered sushi and I went to another restaurant. more customers I haven't waited this long. I won't be back, and I think I'm not impressed with this restaurant at all. There are two restrooms, but the staff said they weren't available. You have to go to another shop .This is the very bad service of this restaurant. The food is not good at all with very bad service.
google avatar

Sara R.

Yelp
Would be cozy atmosphere but white LED spotlights are bouncing off mirrors and also directly reflecting into your eyes at many of the tables. Also, something was terribly wrong with the smoked salmon, it came out 15 minutes after the rest of our food but it smelled horrible/spoiled. The ramen is good and rolls are decent though! The waitress was very kind and helpful with our concerns as well.
google avatar

Nick B.

Yelp
We had several rolls and 3 different orders of nigiri. All were delicious. Our server recommended four rolls, all were solid choices. Nice place and great service.
google avatar

John C.

Yelp
Hadn't seen my 2nd eldest brother in a few months and he wanted to try something different so we went to Kaze. Thought it was brand new until they said it has been around for a year opened Jan 2019. The server was keeping up with every table in the place by herself. Impressive, food was so delicious. We ordered quite a few items and quickly got too full. Loved the sashimi and the rolls, even the Tonkotsu Ramen was tasty. Had leftovers for a few days. For sure will be back!
google avatar

Timothy M.

Yelp
Came in at 9, wqs rushed by 3 to waitresses throughout the hour telling us how theyre closing soon despite our simple order. None of our needs were attended to, as the chefs were having a panic attack over a few rolls ordered an hour before close. Owner should be aware of how lazy their staff has gotten.

Jezebel D.

Yelp
Good ambience music, appetizers were delicious. Playboy sushi roll was my favorite that didn't make it for the picture.

Aiden Edmund B.

Yelp
The food was delicious. Very good Gyoza and Agedashi tofu. Great rolls too. The service was great too, especially our waitress Susie. The atmosphere and ambience very good too, overall great experience.

Michele B.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our salmon belly and yellowtail belly nigiri, along with the shrimp and beef appetizers. Rolls sounded great on the menu, but flavors didn't delight as we expected. Just around the corner from our hotel, it was a great find after a long drive. Excellent pricing. I recognize that we were late diners (yet well before closing), but we considered it very rude to be pushing the rolling garbage can through the restaurant (twice) while we were eating. Those closing duties should wait until guests exit. The LED spot lights at the sushi bar are obnoxious and need to be adjusted. One was blindingly bright and pointed directly in my face.
google avatar

Shannon Y.

Yelp
This place is right around the corner from my work and is convenient to get in and out for lunch. I've been here a few times. I can't eat a lot and the lunch special doesn't seem to fill me up, so me and my friends usually add appetizers. Gyozas are pretty good. Shiitake & Green bean appetizer is probably my favorite. The rolls are ok. Sometimes the fish seems a little fishier then other days. Idk about that.
google avatar

Yelp
New sushi bar that's open on Sunday. That's a bonus. Not only do they have alright sushi, they have some dishes for none sushi folks. I recommend their steaks. A bit expensive but tender and cooked properly. The tempura vegetables were good. Not so good were the agedashi tofu/dofu was not silky at all. Bit on the dry/firm side. Maybe they used the wrong type of tofu. Also the broth had no flavor. Also skip the fried rice. They may have burned the sesame oil as it had a bitter taste. Also the chashu was practically none existent. They've expanded their beer and sale selections, bonus.
google avatar

Sydney R.

Yelp
My family and I have been coming here for years and it never disappoints. It is our go to spot. The rolls are to die for and the atmosphere is very comfortable and nice. I can honestly say that Kaze has some of the best rolls in town. I am not a fan of crab and there are lots of roll options with no crab I usually get the my darling roll with lemon on top. The sugar house roll and the kaze roll are also some of my favorites. My parents always get the fried rice to go so they have a snack later. The fried rice is filled with flavor and is the perfect size. This place will not disappoint.
google avatar

Natalia J.

Yelp
First time going here with our friends from out of town. We will most likely be back. Tasty foods and great presentation. The cocktails were delicious too. We got sake-tinis.
google avatar

Libby M.

Yelp
Do not ignore the ramen! It is some of the best in SLC. the noodles are amazing and the broth is delicious. The only drawback is that the eggs are hard boiled sometimes. Really though, get the ramen.
google avatar

Lina L.

Yelp
Itto, Kaze and Ichiban are the three only sushi spots I go to in Salt Lake. All their seafood are fresh and doesn't stink like at other places I've tried. I always go to Kaze and Itto for takeouts! Both are definitely a no brainer and you won't be disappointed if you order from here! Flavor is on point!
google avatar

Alicia S.

Yelp
First of all, I love the outdoor seating area Kaze has. So nice to be able to enjoy the early fall weather and be right in the middle of downtown, while making it easy to social distance. When it comes to sushi, you generally get what you pay for, and Kaze is no exception. This is not cheap sushi, and it definitely doesn't taste like it. The nigiri and maki rolls are where you can really taste the quality of the fish. Now it's not quite the most melt-in-your mouth fish I've had, and I do wish the slices of fish on the nigiri were a bit thicker, BUT I would still say this is easily among my top 3 sushi restaurants in Utah. We had a great experience.
google avatar

Bill L.

Yelp
Service is great! OJ is very cordial . She sat me right down. Had a menu in her hands and promptly took my first request. I Ordered Dumplings to start with a beer! Dumplings were a hit! Sapporo Premium Beer, 5$ was good but not my accustomed taste of ice cold. OJ did bring me a colder beer the second time. And of course my sushi was delicious!!
google avatar

Quinn N.

Yelp
Another great night at Kaze! We had the stewed pork belly appertizer, small sashimi platter, Kaze roll and My Darling roll. I think the stewed pork belly is heavier than what I would think of in an appertizer, but it tastes good, reminds me of the same dish in Chinese and Vietnamese cuisine. All of my sashimi and sushi was great. I think the waitress could have done a better job explaining what the cuts are since it's chef's choice, but really we could have asked and overall she has been attentive. Will go back!
google avatar

Tu Anh D.

Yelp
This is our favorite restaurant to go for sushi in SLC area. We've been here a few times and every time the food is really good. Last time we had a large sashimi platter, which is only about $2 more than smaller platter but more pieces - the fish quality was pretty good and fresh. The rolls themselves are also delicious - we got playboy and kabuki, they are both not too big but very flavorful. We actually ordered another roll and that was also good. The service here is also fast, all waiters are very nice and polite. I like that there is usually no lines at all waiting for a table, and the food doesn't take too long to come out. I would love to come back and try other rolls.
google avatar

Bree D.

Yelp
Looked kind of dead for a Thursday evening at 7:30. But the good reviews enticed us to give it a go. Quick and friendly service. Had Sapporo on draft , yum. Ordered two Tonkotsu Ramen and a Tokyo Roll. The Tonkotsu came out fast but the Tokyo roll came out when we were completely done so I took it to go. I was so full from the ramen. The ramen was very close to what one can get in Fukuoka Japan. The same? no. Better? No. But very rich and tasty by American standards, yes! They also give a hefty portion of Kaedama (extra noodles). Add some Togarashi and you feel the comfort of Japan. The Tokyo roll (the one piece I had room for) was good. Nice big portions of fish and tasted fresh. I would eat here again for sure! Fair prices for big servings, nice service and central location in DT SLC.

Courtney S.

Yelp
Amazing sushi! My husband and I agree this was our best sushi trip to date. Playboy and Dragon were the highlights.
