14 Underrated Restaurants to Explore in the Twin Cities

"Nearly lost in the menagerie of PR-backed restaurants that populate Dinkytown, Korea Restaurant keeps quietly chugging along with a glorious assortment of bibimbap, bulgogi, and potstickers. Lunch is mayhem, but worth every second of wait time. Prepare for self-service and generous helpings, and don’t be shy to refill on the side dishes." - Justine Jones, Jon Cheng

13 Essential Korean Restaurants in the Twin Cities

"With no reservations, counter service, and long, communal dining tables stretching the length of the restaurant, KBOP feels like a restaurant tailored for Dinkytown’s student-heavy traffic. This version of tteokbokki, a spicy stir fry of cylindrical rice cakes and sheets of fish cake that’s soupier and sweeter than you’ll find at others in the Twin Cities, is rumored to cure any hangover. In the winter seasons, KBOP is notable as one of the few restaurants in the Twin Cities serving tteokguk — a soup of rice cakes sliced on the bias, simmered in a collagen-rich beef stock that’s cloudy with whipped egg white, and topped with blanched greens and delicate shreds of paper-thin omelette, often eaten on Seollal (the Korean Lunar New Year)." - Julie Zhou

The Best Restaurants in Dinkytown, Near the University of Minnesota Campus | Eater Twin Cities

"Kbop’s most popular dish might be its bulgogi, sliced thin and served piping hot on a cast-iron skillet. But don’t overlook its kimchi pancakes, rice and noodle dishes (like glassy japchae stir-fried with veggies) and warming soups, like the fiery sundubu chigae, made with seafood, tofu, and a soft egg." - Eater Staff

Google
Nice little spot with authentic Korean food. Felt like it’s more of a fast food place with restaurant grade food. Not too convenient for big groups but still plenty of seating space. The food was very good and will be back the next time I come into town. I had the spicy beef soup and kimbap which was really good! I forgot what the beef noodle soup is called but it was a perfect spicy level for me. My friends got the rice cakes and it was really tasty. My friends said they had other rice cakes before and they were always too spicy but this one was just right.

Sohee Chun

Google
I got beef bibimbap. Portion is too big for one person (probably can feed 2-3 people). Lots of good fresh veggies and beef make 5 stars ⭐️

Google
Service was so bad it actually prompted an interesting discussion concerning the legal obligations of restaurants; the staff were suspiciously aware of the fact that there's no statutory requirement to provide free water in Minnesota. This, combined with the inaccesibility of napkins, makes for a most inconvenient locale in which to experience a bloody nose.

Came for lunch and it was delicious. The veggie fried Mandu were great and I really enjoyed the shrimp fried rice!

Google
My first time going there and I was very pleased. The staff were friendly and helpful, the space was clean and modern, and the food was tasty and prepared quickly. We had the chicken bibimbap, which was so good! All the different elements were tasty and even better mixed together. The portion size was more than generous. We also had chicken bokkeumbap which had a nice charred, but not burnt flavor. The banchan was tasty, good kimchi, spicy but not over the top, tasty fish cakes, and my favorite was the oi muchim cucumbers. We also had chicken wings, which were tasty and quite large. My only criticism is that I wish they had more drink choices, not just bottled soda.

Google
The proprietor was extremely nice and respectful! Counter service and a number to pick up. The food was delicious with an incredible depth of flavor that lasted to the last bite. The kimchi pancake stole the show for us but not by much! Stop in and give some support!

Taste was there wish the veggies were as warm as the chicken or mixed in. Dumplings was so hot almost burned my.mouth but tasted good. I recommended.

Google
Excellent Korean spot in dinky town! Very spacious with small and long tables. Pleasant and friendly service. A must-visit location! Definitely coming back. 1. Jampong $16: Flavorful and exactly the right amount of spice and saltiness. Seafood (clams, shrimp, calamari rings, octopus tentacles, and baby scallops) were perfectly tender. A good amount of veggies but could use more ratio to noodle proportion. Very generous bowl! 2. Du Bu Dae Chigae $12: Rich and flavorful broth, perfectly cooked Ramen, and ingredients. Rice was cooked well. Bowl was worth it and it came out sizzling! 3. Fried Mandu (veg) $11: Crispy exterior with a moist interior. Tad bit soggy filling but good. Came in a quantity of 8 per order. The dumpling soy sauce was good but a bit salty. When eaten with the mandatory it paired well. 4 Kimbap $6.25: One roll to go. The daughters enjoyed it at home but said it was salty but ok. Banchan sides: A. Sweet pickled cucumbers: Crunchy & fresh but sweet. Sliced onions round out the bite. B. Napa cabbage kimchi: Mild and tangy but very crisp and great. C. Fish cake slices: Mildly sweet but savory and the texture is perfectly soft and not tough.

Yelp
Great variety of delicious food at very fair prices. My friend had bokum bap and I had jamppong. We shared a seafood pancake. Big portions and the nice lady who took our order offered to take my tray if jamppong to our table. The jamppong had a nice and plentiful supply of seafood and thick noodles. It took care of my hunger without leaving me feel stuffed. The seafood pancake was big enough to share with almost a half left to take. We arrived shortly after K-Bop opened at 11:00 and it was filling up while we were eating. I highly recommend a visit.

Yelp
The food here always hits when I crave Korean food. There's a good amount of seating available but can fill up fast when they're busy. Parking can be hard to find during the semester. I like that they have some sort of Korean show or music playing on their TV and it's not too loud. I went here for a solo food date and it was great. I got their Jampong and Haemul Pajeon (Seafood Pancake) and the portion was a lot! I had to take half of each home and eat it for dinner.

Yelp
Kbop is one of my favorite Korean restaurants in the city. The menu runs the gamut of traditional Korean foods, and everything I've tried has delivered in full. A few personal favorites are the budae-jjigae (military stew), seafood bibimbap, and jjajangmyeon. The space itself is straightforward by design, cafeteria-style and counter service. It can get busy during dinner during the school year, especially on winter weekends when a roiling stew hits like nothing else. One thing to be aware of: you have to buy any drink you want, including bottled water. And should you venture to the spicier side of the menu, you'll want a one. It'd be cool if they added even a simple water dispenser as this can feel a little cash-grabby, but the food is good enough and reasonably priced such that this can be overlooked.
google avatar

Leslie C.

Yelp
Came here for some warm Korean stew and this place delivers. The jjamppong veggies are a little different from the typical cabbage, carrots and onions but the Smokey flavor is spot on and the banchan sides were a great accompaniment. Size of the soups are very reasonable and shareable with a friend if you order an appetizer. This is cafeteria style seating so order and wait to pick up when your number is called, when you are done return the tray.

Yelp
When I say the portions are big! Wow. Hopefully the picture do it justice. It was yummy too. I wouldn't get the rice cakes just because there wasn't a lot of fish cakes in it. I would go back just for the noodles. It was almost 3 meals in just that alone. So it makes the price of the food which was $55 dollars worth it. The service was fast. You order and sat down, the got up to get the food. I really liked sitting there and talking to my friend because of the cafeteria-like atmosphere (if a cafeteria had a lot of wood). I would come back.

Yelp
Now that I've finally gone to Seoul, I feel better about reviewing Kbop years after my first visit (and several others since): this is the best option for Korean food in the metro. They do classic dishes well for the money. Enjoy the kimbap roll, I enjoy the bulgogi. You can hit all the classics here. It's efficient and friendly counter service. It's a functional interior. You're not going here for a fancy place, it's just as much aimed at the student population of Dinkytown. I've never had a bad meal.

Yelp
DELICIOUS Korean food, in a modern, no-frills and minimalistic kind of atmosphere. Service was okay considering you order at a counter, then pick up when your order is ready (yup, just like at McDonald's). We arrived around 7pm and there was only one person in front of us when we got in line to order. After we ordered, our food was ready in 5-10 minutes. Here's what we ordered: 1. Beef Bulgogi (5/5) So delicious and flavorful and perfectly cooked. Order this every time! 2. Japchae (4/5) Yummy, but not as good as the Bulgogi. We ordered with chicken, but it was a bit dry so I wish we opted for the beef. 3. Dukbokki (2/5) It was hard and chewy. Spice level was ok, but it wasn't the best dukbokki I've tasted. 4. 2 Bottled Waters for $1.50 each. (0/5). Have I mentioned how much I hate paying for water at a restaurant? Also, be prepared to pay for parking, or parking far away since the Dinkytown U of MN area parking situation can be difficult sometimes. On-street parking was about $3 per hour. I would definitely come back when I'm craving good Korean food.

Yelp
Great Food the flavors are very unique, the place is cozy and cool I really recommend this place

Yelp
There is paid street parking nearby. It's open at least, closed this coming Monday and Tuesday for the 4th. Order at the counter and pick up your order when they call your order number. No names here, you are just a number to them. The woman taking your order wasn't warm or inviting or friendly at all. We ordered bottle of water, kimchi fried rice with the egg scrambled, kimchi jjigae, kimchi jeon, tteokbokki, Kimbap. $62.39 The kimchi jiiage comes with soft tofu instead of the hard tofu at our favorite spot back at home. It's subpar, not a big fan of the broth much. Their kimchi pancake is really thick and nice and crispy. It's quite good. The banchans: cucumber, braised fish cake and kimchi, all are okay. The tteokbokki is okay, the rice cakes are bloated and slightly overcooked. The kimchi fried rice is super salty and maybe too heavy on the soy sauce, it's not as good as our favorite restaurant back at home. Actually most of the dishes are quite salty. You will likely need to get more water as you go. We were so thirsty as we ate our food up. It was quite backed by the time we left the place.

Yelp
Always a great spot if you're craving a quick Korean bite. Today, I got the beef bulgogi plate. With a mixture of grilled beef, veggies, and slightly sweet sauce, you are in for a juicy meaty treat! Service was quick. Makes for a fun trendy spot by the University of Minnesota!

Yelp
One of my favorite places to get Korean food. I love their consistency and everything always tastes great. The portion sizes are pretty hefty and I always end up with leftovers. The dining area is always lively and I love how open it is despite how small the space looks. It's an order at the counter type of restaurant, so don't expect someone to come to you. Some of my repeat orders are the mandu, veggie pancake, japchae, spicy pork stir fry, bulgogi, ddoboki, and yukajang.

Yelp
I'm so happy we finally made it to this place! We shared the Ja Jang Myeon (black bean noodles), Kimchi Chigae (delicious soup), and beef bulgogi. Everything came with sides and it was all SO DELICIOUS! I loved how flavorful everything was and we had plenty of leftovers. The service was friendly and this place is laid-back with wooden seating throughout. We will be back to try more!

Yelp
Counter service (that is really efficient). Great Korean food. Korean K-pop music videos playing on the large screen.

Yelp
Decided to try this spot out even though my usually go to spot is Korea Restaurant on Oak Street. I thought this place might be cheaper, but I believe they are the same price! Seafood pancake - needs to be crispier, too soft. Had good taste with the dipping sauce but needs to be fried more. Rice cake with spicy sauce and dish cake. I have never had this dish with fish cake but it wasn't bad. Not my fav dish. Rice cake could have been softer. Beef Bulgogi and the Kalbi were both excellent! Cooked well, tender and full of flavor! I also ordered Pork Bulgogi and Japche to go but came home to open 2 orders of Pork Bulgogi! The pork Bulgogi was really good but I was disappointed to not try the Japche so guess I'll have to come back. Overall the food was pretty good. We were happy with the quality of the food.

Yelp
Super good!! The food tastes delicious and the service is quick. I enjoyed the environment and how the seats are set up. Really great Korean food experience.

Yelp
Super tasty Korean food! Huge portion sizes, great taste, and great prices! So affordable! They have all the popular Korean dishes like, kimchi chigae (tofu soup), jajangmyeon (black bean noodle), bulgogi (marinated beef), bi bim bap (hot stone rice), and so much more! The only down side was that the food was a bit salty. I got the Kimchi Chigae (11.50) and it was salty, but nonetheless a bang for your buck! Plus all the entrees come with banchan (appetizers)! I also got the kimbap ($5) which was sooo good and super cheap! I will definitely be coming back to check out more of my favorite Korean dishes
google avatar

Antonio S.

Yelp
The Bu Dae Chigae had a lot of meat, very filling, so that was good. It only cost 16 dollars, and came with rice and banchan (side dishes), so that was good.
google avatar

Peter P.

Yelp
Been a while since the last time we ate here; blame it on pandemic and street parking at the U. One thing I realized, the price has gone more than 50% since before the pandemic; hope some of the proceeds help the folks working at the place. As to the food, we had dolsot bibimbap, mul naeng myeo (cold sour noodle), kimbap. All are very good; we love this place.

Regina D.

Yelp
The location felt lively and cultural attractive. I love going there to get my bibibamp and sushi rolls. Their ramen is also so good that I wanted to return again.
google avatar

Taylor K.

Yelp
Best ttoekbokki in town!! Perfectly spicy with tasty add-ins. Great service & reasonable prices!
google avatar

Luella D.

Yelp
Great! Food is always yummy, and the workers were very nice, and the ambiance of the restaurant is very pleasant. I come here with my mom one in a while, and we love it!
google avatar

D'Andre C.

Yelp
This place habitually doesn't observe their own posted Business Hours. This is the 3rd time I've traveled during business hours and they've closed much earlier, with no explanation. They started off great, but customer service and quality of food has degraded over time.
google avatar

Emmy S.

Yelp
This place was sooo good ! It was packed so I knew the food was about to be amazing! I loved their fish cakes and their spicy pork bulgogi, it was so juicy and chewy just like i like it! They seemed to be a little busy tho as my friends plate came with a stapler, but thats okay . It located near a college campus so expect there to be a lot of young adults. The prices are just like any other korean restaurant but it was worth it for the amount you get . I will most def come back when I am in minnesota again.
google avatar

Neera F.

Yelp
I haven't been back here in so long but it's just as I remembered. I got their kimbap and fried rice with tofu. It definitely hit the spot and soothed my cravings.
google avatar

Neil S.

Yelp
A great selection of Korean jjigae and noodle staples. The naengmyun was especially nice for these hot summer days, reminding me of my own summers in Korea. Worthwhile for most of your cravings!
google avatar

Sierra R.

Yelp
I really wanted to love the food but it just wasn't the best. If I came back I would get #15, bi bim bop. The taste was good but I wished the rice was crunchier and there were more veggies in the bowl.
google avatar

Jade Y.

Yelp
K-Bop is probably my favorite korean restaurant i've tried yet! We got the jajangmyeon, kimchi chigae, and kimchi jeon and the prices are really good for the amount and quality of food you get. we also didn't have to wait long to have our order taken and food prepared. we probably had to wait 5 minutes max! the ambience is also very nice and aesthetic. the only con is that there isn't any free water but bottled drinks can be bought for $1.50
google avatar

Corina S.

Yelp
Every time I visit Minneapolis I make sure to go here. The food is phenomenal and the price point is very fair. It's a very clean establishment and great service.

Emma B.

Yelp
Favorite Korean restaurant that I've been to in the twin cities so far. Had the cod roe soup which was really flavorful with just the right amount of spice. One complaint is that it's annoying that you have to buy bottled water instead of them having cups.

Elizabeth W.

Yelp
Food is pretty good! I had the seafood pancake and enjoyed it. But what's with having no tap water available?!
google avatar

Vikash K.

Yelp
Small Korean restaurant near the university. Prices are good and affordable. Really enjoyed the kalbi with the various sides that are included. The kalbi kinda was a bit too fatty but that could just be the portion I got. The kimchi had a nice flavor to it and so did the fish cake. Overall good restaurant

Yelp
Since this is one of the Korean meals close to the school, I often come to check out different foods. 1 - Chicken Wing: 4/5 The quantity is relatively large, and it can be used as a side dish when many people eat together. Not crispy enough, but tasty. 4 - Dukbokki: 3/5 I like to eat fried rice cakes, the fried rice cakes in this store are not tasty enough, and there is no sticky soup wrapped in fried rice cakes, I think the taste is average. 6 - Kim Bap: 2/5 average taste. 16 - Bi Bim Bap: 4/5 Always love bibimbap in Korean food, this one tastes normal but delicious. 21 - Ja Jang Myeon: 2/5 The jajangmyeon had some weird taste in it, which I didn't really like. A bit salty in my opinion, I like Jajangmyeon with more sweetness. 27 - Yuk Gae Jang: 3/5 The taste is just right, but the portion is relatively small, not a lot of meat, more soup. The environment is okay, there are not many seats, but it is relatively clean. There are few waiters, but the service attitude is good. Write so much first, and I will update later.

Hanah L.

Yelp
I have been in search of a new Korean restaurant since I moved to the area. Unfortunately, there are not a lot of options, especially near where I live, but decided to make the trek here. It is in the college area, so there is only street parking, and it is very limited. The restaurant is quite small, so I wasn't really sure what to expect, but this place is AMAZING! First, their portion sizes were incredible, especially for the price! The quality and taste of this restaurant is also very very good! I was very impressed and very sad that I will not be able to come in here as often as I would like, mainly because of the distance. But if you are in search for authentic, high quality yet budget friendly, this is the place for you!
google avatar

Yelp
Okay, U of M students have it so good. Why didn't I come here sooner? I didn't think it was going to be a "order-at-the-counter" type of situation but it worked out okay. However, this didn't lead to us to getting our food faster but I guess it makes getting in and out of there easier. We did wait quite a while for our food (but it was a busy Saturday night). I enjoyed the japchae with tofu. Saucy and full of flavor without being overpowering. It was enough for lunch the next day. I enjoyed the banchan dishes. Their portions were smaller than what I've seen at other places but I guess that goes alone with their fast casual vibes. The kimchi pancake was delicious. Pan fried perfectly and crispy. You get a lot of pieces so it's good to share between 3-4 people. A little more expensive than I've seen but worth it. Boyfriend loved the bulgogi. It was a good portion for him (he eats a lot) and worth the money in both our opinions. Restaurant itself was extremely loud and got a little hot but overall, the space was efficiently laid out. I'll echo what some others said about service and say it was definitely not the best, but if you don't have expectations for that given the fast casual-ness/chaotic-ness of it all, then it's fine. I would come back for the portions/prices alone (not service).
google avatar

Melissa Z.

Yelp
Hot days in Minnesota are quite literally the worst. The worst muggy humidity and sweltering heat you'll experience. BUT, it is exactly on these days where I want to lock myself into a cryochamber when I crave nothing more than the mul naeng myeon from Kbop. The mul naeng myeon is so refreshing and yummy, and the best part is that the ice is made from the broth so that it doesn't dilute! The noodles come with sliced beef, cucumbers, apples, a poached egg, and radishes, and will completely cool you down. I also recommend their kimbap to eat as a side. Bring a water bottle because they no longer have a public water dispenser due to COVID!
google avatar

Jack M.

Yelp
Truly excellent beef bulgogi. When it came out sizzling I knew it was going to be good. The beef was of the highest quality, very generously portioned, in a savoury/sweet sauce that nicely complemented the fatty beef. The rice was standard. The star of this dish is the beef. The dish was served with the standard Korean banchan sides.

Mi D.

Yelp
Bad customer services. The cashier girl was not nice and rude attitude. I would not come back to this place. Food is good but they need to work on training their employees
google avatar

Jess H.

Yelp
I was finally able to try this place, and it did not disappoint! I got the jajangmyeon (black bean noodles), and I think it might have been the best I've had. The flavors were perfect, and the portions were enough to make me full. It also came with three side dishes that were also amazing! The cashier/servers were very pleasant and understanding. They were willing to help with anything and got my food out quickly. The ambiance of the restaurant was chill. It's a nice place to grab a quick meal and head out. It wasn't too loud or busy and had a variety of places to sit.
google avatar

Greenlee Z.

Yelp
It's like a casual dining. You go up to the register and order your food and will call your name when it's ready. They have a menu with pictures on the side where you can stare at and pick what you want. We got Japchae, spicy pork bugolgi, and the cold spicy noodle dish and appetizers. Portion size is decent and flavorful. A lot of college kids dine here since it's by the U of M. Only thing I probably like to be done differently is it would be nice if all the food can be done at the same time instead of coming out at different times. Our entree came out before our appetizers. So by the time we finished our entrees we didn't want our apps anymore. I would recommend it and definitely go back.

Yelp
Why say it, when Cyndi Lauper already said it better in her song "K Bop" Wehell I see them every night in tight blue jeans In the Dinkytown District eating Korean Hey I've been thinking of a new sensation I'm picking up good food from the Asians Ooh K Bop, K Bop Do I want to go out with a lion's roar Huh, yea, I want to go to Dinkytown and get some more Hey, they say that a coupon in the paper saves $9 They say I better stop eating Korean or I'll go blind Ooh she bop, she bop She bop he bop and we bop I bop you bop and K Bop Be bop be bop a lu bop I hope he will understand She bop he bop and we bop I bop you bop and K Bop Be bop be bop a lu she bop Ohh ohh she do K Bop What to get: Soup! What to say: 'Sup, Soup! What sound to make: Slurp. What happens if you slurp Barbie without $: Slap. Very enjoyable Korean food with pretty good service as well. A couple of the female employees, who were clearly students, did not seem to like me very much, but the guy that was serving that seemed to be Korean - and the Chefs - were really nice. The prices are very competitive, and by competitive I mean, a lot cheaper than I expect a standalone Korean spot to be. They have the prices I'd expect at a little Korean stand inside an H-Mart, or even cheaper than some of those. It's in a college neighborhood so you might expect that it'd be cheap, but I'm pretty happy whenever I find Korean soups for significantly under $10. Often places will charge north of 10, or even north of 15 for them. Boo. Now as for the taste. It was very yummy, and while it wasn't the best I've ever had, it certainly was better than average. Tasty and spicy and very enjoyable. KBop is somewhere I would definitely come back whenever I'm in Dinkytown. There's a whole lot of great stuff in Dinkytown and it's one of the areas places in the Twin Cities to eat because of all the great stuff catering to the college kids - but this would definitely be close to the top of my list of my favorite foods to eat in the University District. Now let's allow Hanson to finish off the review, with their song, "KBop." You have so many restaurants in this life Only one or two will last You go through all the pain and strife Then you turn your back and they're gone so fast Oh yeah And they're gone so fast, yeah Oh, so hold on the ones you really like In the end crap chains will be the only ones there And when you get old and start losing your hair Can you tell me will you still eat there? Can you tell me will you still eat there? Oh care Kbop, ba duba dop Kbop, ba duba dop Kbop, ba duba dop Ba du, yeah-e-yeah Kbop, ba duba dop Kbop, ba duba dop Kbop, ba duba dop Ba du, yeah-e-yeah Said oh yeah Then Kbop, they're gone Then Kbop, they're not there Then Kbop, they're gone Then Kbop, they're not there By the time you lose your hair Kbop won't be there, and will you care? Yeah

Yelp
Fast great food . I am not a big fan of Korean but this place was fantastic. Horrible parking situation. Make sure you pay - the cops are everywhere . Safe enviroment. Be prepaired to walk a few blocks because of the lack of parking.

Yelp
I was so excited when Kpop from opened years ago and I think they have improved a lot. Although they used to have a lunch special menu and I don't see it anymore. There is a good variety of mainstream and traditional Korean dishes to choose from and I like how for most dishes you can choose your protein. For those who never had Korean food before- overall prices for Korean food in general are more then other Asian food so I think the prices here are fine. I usually get the squid stir fry or bibambop but I've a number of other dishes that I liked. I love the atmosphere here because of the Korean shows/Kpop videos they play and overall the place is super causal and clean. Parking: Since it's locates in Dinkytown- metered only.

Yelp
3.4 stars: I liked a lot about Kbop Bistro, but I would also like to see them improve a few shortcomings too. Overall, this restaurant has a fun Korean atmosphere reminiscent of K-Town in LA, a wide range of Korean dishes (not just the standard Bi Bim Bop fare many places in MN do), and fast service. However, the drinks are really lacking, and even for someone who likes spicy food, the dishes were, overall, way too hot. We ordered the #27 YukGaeJang soup, the #11 spicy pork, and the #4 DukBokki. We really liked the DukBokki; it was just as good as the ones we have had in K-Town in LA and in Seoul (although there was no egg in this one). The rice cakes were perfectly cooked, and the flavors were all there. This is a must get. The YukGaeJang soup and the #11 spicy pork were, however, way, way too spicy (and the spicy pork was sort of oddly prepared). I've had a TON of spicy pork in Korean restaurants from the Bay Area and LA all the way to Seoul and Pyongyang, and it's definitely one of my all-time favorite dishes from any cuisine. However, I was not a big fan of Kbop's version of this dish. To begin, the gochujang flavor that is so prominent in this dish everywhere else was really weak and understated in Kbop's version. On the other hand, there were way, way too many hot chilis and jalapenos in the dish. This combination made the dish super, super spicy (on par with Sri Lankan food), but also not super flavorful, and I didn't really care for it as a result. My wife also thought that her YukGaeJang was a bit on the spicy side, but otherwise, had a nice soup flavor for a cold day. The banchan dishes were all pretty yummy: we especially liked the fish cake and potatoes. Finally, the drink options here are really, really lacking. You basically get a choice between pepsi products and water. There's no hot barley/rice tea (or any hot tea), no Korean style soft drinks, and certainly no Hite, Cass, Soju, or other Korean alcoholic beverages. This came as a big surprise, since beverages play such a big role at many Korean restaurants/meals. All in all, this is probably one of the better Korean restaurants in the Twin Cities, but if you are used to getting you fix at a real Korean restaurant in California or Korea, you'll likely be a bit disappointed here. This place is somewhat new, and I hope they continue to improve, especially by turning down the heat a bit and adding some more drink options.

Yelp
Once again I'm completely blown away by how delicious and flavorful their food is. I drove almost 3hrs to get my Korean food fix. Because nowhere else in Minnesota has such an incredible selection of authentic Korean food. I had my go-to of Bibimbap with Beef, and then decided to try Tteokbokki for the first time and it did not disappoint!

Yelp
Awesome find while in town to see the Minneapolis Institute of Art and the Science Museum of Minnesota. Tried Beef Bulgogi, Bu Dae Chigae, and several other items. All the main dishes were great. The side dishes have room for improvement, and they don't offer the traditional purple rice, but I'm not rating them down for it. Overall the experience was great. PS: They don't mind if you bring in drinks with you, and there are plenty of options like Bobba tea nearby.

Yelp
This is authentic Korean food in Minneapolis. We landed at MSP and were on our way to our destination. But we wanted to grab lunch before we hit the road so decided to see what was available. Yelp steered us right, once again. My wife is Korean and she approved of the meal. I enjoyed my lunch also.

Yelp
I'm so jealous of U of M students for having this gem. This place by far is my most favorite stop for Korean foods. It is fast, affordable, and lots of options. The Lunch Specials are good deals since you can eat popular dish (i.e bulgogi, japchae, bibimbap, budae jjigae, sundubu jjigae) at good prices. I've tried Dukbokki, Kimbap, Bulgogi, Tang So Yook, Kalbi, Dolsot Bibimbap, Mul Naeng Myeon, Kimchi Jjigae, Kal bi tang, Budae jjigae, Sundae guk, Duk mandu guk. I love them all! I love how easy it is to get these dishes that feature on K-drama. Foods are always make to order and seasoning are perfect. My favorites are sundae guk (intestine soup) and Kalbi Tang for the cold weather. For warmer weather, I would recommend Mul Naeng Myeon (cold buckwheat noodles) and Bibimbap. Banchan (side dishes) and rice are always included with entrees. I found that banchans are a little salty and kimchi needs more fermentation. You could also get banchan refills also!

Yelp
How do I start this. The customer service was off and the food was bland for a 4 star rated place I expected place to be pretty good but it was no where near good. The employees are very hostile especially the owner. The restaurant was outdated with what they were playing on tv and the tables/ chairs were dirty. Save your time and eat somewhere else near by please as someone who has traveled to New York, LA, Chicago, San Francisco, and Seoul please save your time. You are better off making the food at home.
