K. C. Branaghan’s Irish Pub Review - Long Beach - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"With its friendly staff, casual atmosphere, and menu that’ll remind you of that one semester you studied abroad in Ireland, K.C. Branaghan’s is the kind of neighborhood joint that’s perfect to stumble into at any time of the day. Plus, they serve bottomless mimosas daily - which pair surprisingly well with shepherd’s pie." - Kat Hong

Great food options for breakfast, lunch, dinner. Outstanding friendly and welcoming service. Irish food and drink as well. I've only had a BBQ Burger, BLTA, and Perry's breakfast sandwich but all three were excellent. And if you're up to it in the morning hours (actually anytime would be good), give the 🍀Pancake Breakfast Shot🍀 a try. Loved it.👍

My wife and I have enjoyed stopping by this quaint little Irish pub, many times for a quick breakfast with our dog. How many times I cannot recall, but it's more than I can count on both hands, and always with our dog. Until today, our dog has been welcome to join us at ANY table on every visit - that is, I say, until today. When we walked in today, the first words out of the waiter's mouth were: "If you have a dog, you have to sit at the rail." Not hello, not welcome, not a dozen other greetings that would have conferred anything other than sheer RUDENESS. I said no word. We sat at the rail, in full glare of the hot morning sun, that was impossible to escape. I don't know if it's a new policy, or an old one that no other employee follows - I don't care! Our dog is small, sweet and quiet. He never makes a fuss, and always gets a double or triple order of ham as a treat. But not today, today he was greeted with rudeness. So we won't be coming back!

Great, friendly service. Cold Smithwicks Ale! I accidentally left my debit card there and when I came back for it, the bartender had it put away safely for me.

Great place. Had the traditional Irish and it was awesome. Good vibes, nice servers. The baby loved the bread pudding. Will be back for sure

I’ve been here many times and this most recent visit was the best. I always enjoy the Irish breakfast but I tried the Buttermilk Biscuits Breakfast Sliders, I don’t know if I missed it on the menu before but it was delicious. The Bloody Mary was phenomenal, good ratios on everything and they rim the glass with celery salt and salt. The garnish was a pick with a gherkin, olive and a Pepperoncini, great combo. Two of us had the Irish Breakfast and they loved it. My son had the French toast and a Banger on the side. The bartender made him a pint of chocolate milk and he loved it. We went pretty early on a Tuesday morning so it was pretty dead. Good decor and atmosphere with a good amount of seating for a pub and now they have seating in the parklet.

KC's has been our spot for the past 5 years, typically a Wednesday date night for us. January 2019 the KC Restaurant was sold to a new ownership. We are told that nothing will change including employees, food or drinks so we're hoping for the same great service, delicious gourmet food and awesome bar. Definitely recommend this place to everyone.

Nice local pub to stop for a pint. They have a vast IPA selection, but a weak Brown, Porter or Stout selection. The cider was tasty though. Charming atmosphere with booths & lovely photos of Ireland. The bartender was friendly & welcoming. He was cool with us bringing our Brompton’s in - so it’s Bromwyn approved 🦋 It was pricy, even at Happy Hour it was $20+ for a pint of cider & a pint of beer. They need to pay rent, but a bit steep in my opinion.

So sad to say goodbye to this pub we have enjoyed for 25 years … we had considered it a warm family-like extension of Limerick’s where we had my husbands 30th surprise party too many years ago - we were sad to see it close, but George did a great job and won us over and its been a go- to when time allows. So we planned my son’s 16th surprise party there - we had 20ish people bringing business in to an otherwise very quiet night - perhaps there were 6 other people in the bar. I asked if we could put on the Grammys for our table since the kids were interested - the girls seemed a little bored by then - with it up we and about half of the bar were engaged - but it was a bit weird because the background music playing in the bar did not match the musical show on TV - so I asked the bartender who was super nice if we could just do the audio for the show and kill the music - (like there will still be music, cause its the Grammys) I did point out to him in a friendly way that we were the big money party at the bar and that others at the bar were also watching (the ladies) - not like I was asking to turn off the B-Ball - just change the music - at that point a man standing next the the bartender, who I found out was the now owner, boomed out “is there a problem?” To which I said “No” and explained what I was asking for. He grumpily loomed and then boomed again “is there a problem”? - to which I said “no - it would be nice to hear the music that goes with the video and some people at the bar are watching too”. He angrily acquiesced “Fine! - if you want to watch THOSE DEGENERATES!” And stomped away. The bartender eyes said he was mortified - and he did his best to smooth it over - So sad as I know George would have probably come and thanked us for being there and wished my son a happy 16th. It was such a poison to an otherwise lovely evening. - Sad that Eric made that memory and after that kind of treatment, I can’t go back - Watch Me has my future business.

Yelp
We were interested in exploring Irish food. This was the perfect place! We loved the Irish breakfast. Great sample . Everything was fresh and delicious. Also got the sausage rolls and Irish stew and corn beef sandwich. We would order it all again. We even enjoyed the blood sausage!!! What stood out was our server Macy. She went above and beyond to share about Irish food and made it easy to split and share things. She really thought about what needed to have an exceptional experience. Great neighborhood vibe.

Yelp
My husband and I dropped off the kids at a sailing class through LB Parks and Rec. we walked from Leeway to KC Brannigans to get breakfast. Oh my word...it was an amazing decision. It has been a very long time since I have been there and I think I only drank. Why why why have I slept on this for so long? First, my husband got an Irish Coffee and I got the most unique drink: the Pancake Breakfast Shot. This was butterscotch schnapps and Jameson shooter (tastes like a pancake with syrup), a shooter of orange juice, and a piece of bacon. This was soooo fun! Next, I ordered a breakfast burrito, my husband an eggs Benedict. Breakfast burritos are kind of my thing. This was a delightful classic breakfast burrito filled with eggs and your choice of three ingredients. I chose avocado, cheese, and bangers. Wow...it was so solid. Toasted in the outside, filled with perfectly cooked eggs, and served with a side of potatoes. Again, very solid! The eggs Benedict...made me want to cry...it was so so so so so so perfectly cooked with a rich Hollandaise sauce. Even the English muffin was delicious. Usually the English muffin is a throw away, you hardly think about it. Not here. It was so fluffy and spongy. And our server was so great. She took our order, chatted with us, and made us feel very welcomed. This is a classic Irish bar: dark, solid wooden furniture, soccer matches on all the of the TVs, and locals who seemed to be loving life. My only mistake was not coming here sooner. Don't make the same mistake I did.

Yelp
Cool Irish pub on second street. A very nice atmosphere and decent pub food. They have great staff that are always welcoming and nice when we arrive. It seems to be very very busy and then some days just completely empty. In any case the value for money is absolutely there. I will definitely go again when I want a nice beer and some pub food. This time we ordered the veggie burger which was great. Will definitely come back!!

Yelp
Amazing pub vibes and better food. They have amazing customer service! My favorite thing to do is sit at the bar for a drink and snack the bartenders immediately make you feel like a regular.

Yelp
KC Branaghan's is a staple in Naples! We have been coming here for many years. Great place to meet up with others for beers! Nice day time spot for lunch. Breakfast is a must try here! They recently changed their menu and brought back a few Irish items. Delicious! Beers are always rotating and they are very generous with their "samples". It gets a bit noisy inside so expect that. Service is very good, can be slow when they are understaffed, be patient, happening every where now. We all want to go out and enjoy food/drinks outside of our homes, but service staff is hard to come by. Overall, very friendly and service oriented staff.

Yelp
Service was attentive, friendly and quick. Food delicious and comforting. Came on Tuesday night for King Trivia w/Sara(h?) and had a blast! Traditional Irish pub decor with local vibe and very relaxing.

Yelp
Meh. Service was friendly. Place was loud. The fish in the fish and chips was good and plentiful, but the coating was greasy and slid off the fish. DH had the pub burger. It was good, not great. Fries were disappointing. The booths are nice to look at but not comfortable. So it wasn't horrible, but no plans and no need to go back.

Yelp
Food was very good the beer is on spot! Very friendly servers I keep comming back especially to watch the Dodgers games!

Yelp
Stopped in here with the boyfriend since we were leaving the beach, and it seemed to be one of the few places that wasn't overrun with people on Mother's Day. In fact, it was on the quiet side in this dark wood-paneled Irish pub when we arrived around 4 PM. We were not acknowledged at all, when we came in, and stood around for a few minutes until we took matters into our own hands, and sat at a table by the window. The goal was to just grab a quick drink and a few appetizers. It took about 10 minutes for the waitress to come and take our drink orders. She came back with the drinks, set them down, and never returned. Ever. We sat there like idiots for at least 20 minutes and no one acknowledged us at all. I also noticed that the wait staff was drinking on the job. The blonde waitress who had served us was sipping out of a small glass of dark liquid. Not too appropriate to be drinking on the job, is it?? We finally got tired of being treated like Mr. and Mrs. Invisible. Finished our drinks, boyfriend got up and went over to the bar, paid the tab, and we left. I've been reading the reviews that their food is pretty good. Shame that we never got to try it.

Yelp
Came here with hubby on our own and then another time with our kids in tow. They have kids menu but it's a nice Irish Pub feel to the place a feels grown up and family friendly at the same time. Beers are a little limited but I like Smithwick's so I'm good with that. You have to try their curry and fries. Seriously so good!! The service is good and the staff are friendly.

Yelp
It's a pub, but it is a very good pub. Typical pub atmosphere. Lots of wood, kind of dark little, bit noisy but it's exactly what you would expect from a pub, so no surprises and kind of pleasant. Very good pub fare I highly recommend the shepherds pie. Being an Irish pub is a good selection of beer and whiskey. Surprisingly, it's also an excellent place to go have breakfast. Great breakfast menu and seems to be off the radar from many people so usually it's not very crowded.

Yelp
The traditional Irish breakfast was missing beans to be truly traditional and had extra meat stuff instead which is fine. Service was great and the Irish coffee was strong. The furniture could use a little refreshing but it's a divey Irish pub for a reason so kind of don't want that to change.

Yelp
Went with friends to election watch party. Kristina Duggan, who is running for District 3 City Council hosted the party. This is an neighborhood bar. Reminds me of CHEERS. Everyone knows everyone's name. Huge selection of beer and wine and other alcoholic beverages (after all it is a bar). They also have a great menu selection. Many screens throughout so stop on in to watch your favorite sporting events.

Yelp
This has become our "local" spot for almost 8 years now. Since our friends moved around the corner it's been an easy spot to grab breakfast/brunch on the weekends or lunch/ dinner during the week. It's family friendly with many locals that frequent the restaurant. 4 tv's for football or other sport watching helps provide customers with entertainment and likely a reason to linger a bit then normal. Macy and Alex are by far the best two employees they have. There's a great bus's-man, but I never catch his name, an older gentleman that is always around to help out. We really appreciate them so much. The owner leaves a bit to be desired. His friends always get preferential treatment and he looks like he drinks more than he runs the place. His employees really hold the restaurant down. In terms of food- honestly, I've never had a bad meal there. We have tried a lot of different things like, but a few favorites are: 1. Chiliquellas 2. Patty Melt 3. Tacos 4. Shepard Pie 5. Corn beef Sandwich

Yelp
Waitress was lovely and very kind. Drinks were cheap and loaded up which is nice. We got BAD food poisoning from the charcuterie board. Vibe was super creepy men who peaked in high school.

Yelp
These guys are a few doors down from my hair stylist, so when I have to have my hair done early in the mornings, I order their avocado toast on soda bread! It may be a little pricey to some, but it is amazing! It's a very large thick piece of soda bread with mashed avos, sprouts, tomatoes, fried egg, it's a breakfast all in one I couldn't even finish it. So if I can save it for two meals, that's totally worth it! I haven't eaten there for anything else, I'm just reviewing their avocado toast. That makes this place amazing and my go-to for breakfast at least once a month!! Staff is super nice and friendly, looks like a great bar and I would definitely come here and bring friends if I have any who will come and visit LOL

Yelp
It's hard to find good red and brown beers that are not IPA and Branaghan's has a few to choose from. Great Irish food - Fish & Chips, Bangers & Mash, Corned Beef, Shepard Pie, curry chips (make them crispy) are few of our favorites and the also make a good burger. They also have a pint night, I have a delirium Noel glass for the holidays from a few years ago

Bill C.

Yelp
Having just returned from a few days in Dublin, I was wanting a taste of good Irish food. The Guiness was poured perfectly, thank you. I ordered the Irish Beef Stew for my entree. The flavors were quite good, but there was almost ZERO beef in the beef stew. As well, it had both stewed potatoes and mashed potatoes. I have had it both ways, but never with that much starch (both ways) and so little beef. Finally, the menu has both brown bread and soda bread, but the Irish Beef Stew was served with toasted sour dough bread....what?! Everything tasted good, but the execution was a fail. They did the hard part well (flavors) but really failed on the easy stuff. I was disappointed. Still looking for authentic Irish food. They almost got it right.

Yelp
Dude $8 for Coors light!? Service was good. I know inflation is a problem but $8 for a coors!? I'll drink at home! Thanks joe Biden

Yelp
Hubby and I stumbled upon KC Branaghan's one fine Sunday morning and decided to venture in. I'll say up front, it's pricey. But the food is good, the atmosphere warm and friendly, and the service polished. For our first trip, we sat at a tall table at the front of the bar with high stools that looked out over the main street. It was the perfect place for people watching. We had the onion rings and sausage rolls. I LOVED the onions rings! They came with a delicious dipping sauce that was far better than I expected. I used it for the sausage rolls too. Sooo good. The batter on the outside of the rings wasn't too heavy or greasy either. Delicious! The sausage rolls weren't what I expected. I thought they would be more like sausage rolls found in English or Canadian delis - you know, the ones that are...well, rolls. The sausage rolls at KC Branaghan's are flat and triangular. They are stuffed with ground seasoned pork and come hot. They were good, but not my favorite sausage rolls and I probably won't get them again. We liked the food enough to pop in the next day for breakfast. We tried their signature Breakfast Boxty. It was good, especially when sauced with some HP. We will likely come back another time to try more dishes. KC B's is a solid four-star dining establishment.

Yelp
I am so happy Belmont Shore/Naples has an Irish pub with authentic Irish food and drinks. I'm Irish, never lived there myself but still have family who do and this place makes my heart happy. I want to eat all the traditional Irish fare on their menu because it is so good. I like the service and vibe as well.

Yelp
Been coming here for over a decade Great Nice staff Great Prices for what it is Fast service Great food All A+ Cobb Salad Fish dishes Bolognese over zucchini Three figure pours at the bar

Brandon C.

Yelp
Overall it was a good dining experience. I thought the food was a somewhat under seasoned, but there was salt and pepper on the table. The curry dip with the chips was a pleasant surprise, and the chips were cooked perfectly crunchy. I'd go back for the chips

Shannon R.

Yelp
The food here is absolutely EXCELLENT! We got the cottage pie and the Corn beef boxty and it was the perfect amount of food for two people and the perfect intro to Irish cuisine. The boxty is a moist Irish potato pancake and we got it with corn beef inside - so delicious! Also comes with horseradish and apple relish inside. The cottage pie is TO DIE FOR! Mashed potato on top of a tender beef stew - so rich and thick. I will say this place is also a pub so it's LOUD. So it's not a relaxed environment but the excellence of the food more than makes up for the somewhat rowdy crowd - all having a good time Though so that's good! Service was excellent. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Long overdue! Favorite local spot. Consistently good year after year. Good beer selection, good wine, good cocktails. The food is the real star, they have great everything and good specials. Love this place for breakfast/brunch especially, can't beat the $20 champagne bucket. I also definitely left my purse on a chair and walked away before I realized it and less than 5 minutes later when I went back they already had saved it and kept it safe for me, which was amazing to have my stuff secured. Thank you all!!!
google avatar

Mandeep A.

Yelp
First things first, the curry chips! They are French fries with a curry dipping sauce. Different, and definitely not what you expect from an Irish pub, but they really hit the nail on the head with the dip! Slightly sweet curry flavor that goes great with fries. Definitely recommend trying if you come here for food. We had brunch so I had the Dan sandwich. Nice simple breakfast sandwich with egg, avocado, bacon and mayo. I loved that it came on sourdough bread. I felt like the portions were just right as well. It's a nice chill spot in Long Beach for drinks and some food if you are in Naples/2nd street area and have a bigger group so need a lot of seats to accommodate.

Yelp
Great place, great staff, great beer, great food. Not much to add. I'll have to come check the prime rib on Saturday.

Yelp
Small place with a big heart. I been going here for years for their old style Irish breakfast for a cheap price. I also go here for their mimosas

Yelp
Excellent food!!! Friendly service. We would highly recommend the cottage pie and chicken noodle pie.

Chad G.

Yelp
I gave this a 1 because our server was super friendly...as for the food, that's a different story! Ordered a $9 pint of beer, A PINT! Girlfriend ordered a 9oz Rosé for $10 but to get back to the matter at hand. Ordered the Irish nachos which would be a disgrace to any race not just the Irish. It was some chips with some fake sandwich meat cut up into squares with melted cheese and avocado slices. It also had some cream curry baby food slop mess but I got that on the side...good thing I did because that was so bad it almost ruined my beer which was pretty good! I can't speak on the other food items but that was enough for me to never return!

Penny H.

Yelp
Best corned beef sandwich anywhere. Lean but tender and flavorful and generous portion. Fry's we're great too. Their boxty was pretty good. Worth a try. Only problem is parking. They list parking in rear so it street. At night it's hard to find parking but we went there on a rainy afternoon and parked right in front. It would be smart to relocate to that empty Italian restaurant on PCH and Loynes. They'd have parking and a large place. Something for them to think about. I'll be back for sure.
google avatar

Beatrice P.

Yelp
We stopped in for drinks and a quick bite. I ordered the calamari and the Mac and cheese. The calamari was fine, and a good size dish for $13.... and then the MINI Mac and cheese came out and it was a coffee mug sized dish for $10. We were taken back by the size and the price. I could probably count the noodles, that's how small of a portion it was. The bill was $70 and that was only two appetizers and 4 drinks! A bill should never get that high at an Irish pub, with only those items. Mac and cheese is not expensive ingredients, so why such a ridiculous sized portion? I can't believe anyone would be ok with spending $10 for 10 noodles. A dollar a freakin noodle lol
google avatar

Laura M.

Yelp
My friends and I come here every Wednesday for breakfast. The food is great, ambiance fun and our server Rebecca is the best. She is attentive, sweet and memorizes our orders week to week. Ryan (the owner) is always there. Sometimes with his adorable young son and wife. He truly cares about his employees and customers. If you're hungry or thirsty please support this wonderful business.
google avatar

Renee G.

Yelp
I ordered food to go from here on a very busy day. Left my debit card after paying and Someone used my card to purchase a separate charge of $79. My card ended up still being at the restaurant so I assume one of the workers used it in error. I called and spoke with I believe the owner, Ryan, emailed him a copy of my bank statement showing the charge came from here. No response. I thought the food was good but ended up paying $124.00 for a pub burger and a plate of corned beef and cabbage.

Badd B.

Yelp
We live within walking distance and have been regular customers for many years. Things have changed a great deal with the change in ownership. We will not be going back. Based on many recent visits, I'll say the service is the worst we've ever experienced in any restaurant. The prices are high. The food was better in the past. Many other places to choose from.
google avatar

Sandy J.

Yelp
Local bar and restaurant. Food is always good, service less than good but price depending on day makes up for it. On Wednesday the filet mignon is a steal at $28 with fantastic mashed potatoes and beautiful sautéed vegetables, steak comes with 2 sauces on the side. Always take some steak home. Order the Brussel sprouts, they have green apples, honey and perfect amount of juice, delicious!!! Thursday is taco day, various meats, $2, Cadillac margaritas are not weak and are tastey! Monday was half price appetizer day, get Brussel sprouts then or everyday u come

Yelp
I have to say, that normally, I love this place. It has a lot going for it, but they failed yesterday. I stopped in to catch some of the Euro 2020 tournament (being played in 2021). All they had on was golf. It was a Tuesday, and no meaningful golf was being played. A pub of any repute would highlight all major soccer tournaments, especially one where England, Scotland, and Wales were participants. I had planned on spending some time and money here on Friday for the England vs. Scotland match, but I guess not.
google avatar

Auriana N.

Yelp
So the drinks here are amazing! We went and it happened to be HH....SCORE! We got shots of whiskey for $5? and if I'm not mistaken the mixed drink was the same. For apps we got grilled shrimp tacos, battered fish tacos and a 1/2 plate of wings and potatoes. Honestly the food was mediocre at best, my friend couldn't even finish it. It was just missing seasoning. The atmosphere is great and 2nd St is beautiful so you'll definitely find something to do in the area. Our serves was amazing and you can really tell they treat the customers like family.

Yelp
We know what we like and we like KC's! What a fun, friendly and chill spot! We sat at the bar and ordered a beer each. We also shared an order of fish n chips...the beers were cold and food arrived to us fast and hot! Thumbs wayyy up! We were there to attend the Yelp! 90's trivia event and had such an amazing night, from meeting Glen and Ryan, laughing it up with our fellow Yelp! team mates, to winning in the end! We shared a few appetizers that seemed to please everyone at our table, but the favorite I would say was the potatoes in buffalo sauce and blue cheese! Spicy and arrived nice and hot! The meat n cheese platter came with a nice selection of cheeses and corned beef and turkey deli meats ... Not fancy but not stingy either, we enjoyed it. Cool peeps, great service and an all around perfect experience at KC Branaghan's! I am a fan!
google avatar

Kim K.

Yelp
Worst place ever, if you want to wait over an hour for a beer this is your place. Rudest staff I honestly have ever encountered. Came in between shift change and both employees were more tending to their friends instead of paying customers. ZERO STARS
google avatar

Brianna C.

Yelp
This place is awesome! Come say hi to Brian! The food here is so good. Everything is fresh and tastes amazing. There are specials everyday and great drinks! Stop by for happy hour and get great food and drinks. I have yet to have a disappointing meal here or poor service. This place is top notch and I will definitely be a regular here and recommend it to all my friends!

Shannon P.

Yelp
Food and service were both great, Jackie took amazing care of us and by far one of the best servers I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. She made our experience, totally coming back!

Yelp
Came in to celebrate my dad's birthday with my mom. I choose this place because it's a fairly well-known Irish pub and my dad is all about the Irish pubs, but had never been or heard about this place. We chose to sit at the high top table closest to the large open window facing the street. It was great because we felt that we were in a somewhat private area and they put on the Angels game for us which was convenient. Our server was EXTREMELY nice and welcoming the entire time we were there and made sure we were all taken care of drink and food-wise. I ordered the Irish nachos (which I later found that I wasn't much of a fan of them; idk, I think it's the curry that makes them unappealing to me), and my dad and I ordered several beers. Between the 2 of us and the appetizer, the total was a little over $50. I have been here once before for their bottomless mimosa deal, and had a great experience, so after this second experience, I'm definitely gonna be back! I'm jealous of all of the people in this neighborhood that can walk here and stumble home. Need something like this in my neighborhood!

Yelp
Great place to grab some drinks and great customer service. Rebecca the bartender was great and knew the menu in and out. Recommended what to have for breakfast based on what I was asking for. Wonderful place to bring friends too. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
First timer earlier today. Very good food and drinks. Was able to get right in and sit and they had NFL football on. Waitress was also bartending, she was great. Highly recommend if you're in the area.

Yelp
It's been a while since I've been here and I was not disappointed! I tried the cottage pie and potato leek soup. The cottage pie is traditional Irish fare with the mash potato topping a delicious and hearty beef stew. The potato leek soup has a delightful tangy and buttery flavor that makes it different from other versions and very tasty. The staff were very nice and I look forward to stopping by next time I'm in the area.

Yelp
You must NOT miss out on the garlic bread. I'm a big fan of their shepherd's pie and chicken noodle pies, and I want to explore more of their menu here. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed, it's the kind of place you can sit around in. Beer menu is nice, and they pour a great Guinness.

Yelp
I love a good Irish pub, or a good neighborhood bar, and even a good dive...this place is none of those things. It's just a dump. It's filthy as soon as you walk in, and reeks of stale beer. My shoes were sticking to the floor. The bar mats had GUM caked on them. I can't imagine ordering food here! It's got a very locals only vibe, which in this case is not a positive thing. It's a bunch of old-timers yukking it up, and spilling their drinks everywhere. No friendly people, just lots of side eye. At best you'll be ignored. Speaking of ignored, the bartender could hardly be bothered to bring our drinks. Huge chip on his shoulder. As a bonus, when I drank mine down, I saw there was something floating in it. Thanks for the clean glass there, bud! I regretted giving him a tip. This is one of the worst bars I've been to in the Long Beach area. Go at your own risk.
