Loved the decor, inside was spacious, stylish, and welcoming. The customer service was great, and the atmosphere was buzzing with energy. It was clearly a popular spot, with lots of people gathered, chatting, and enjoying themselves. We only stopped in for a quick coffee to fuel our drive home, but the brew was excellent. I’m already looking forward to coming back and trying one of their specialty lattes!

Truly one of the Best coffee roasters. Old school mastery. A full spectrum of beautiful roasts. Without a doubt one of the best coffee roasters in California. A beautiful place to relax and enjoy the Costa Mesa weather while reading the paper and sipping a perfect cup of coffee. Hard not to love this place.

I happened to find this place by chance using google maps. It had exactly what I was looking for! Great coffee, something sweet for the afternoon and plenty of other options to try next time! I got the double shot espresso affogato w/ vanilla ice cream 😋. They also make their chocolate/mocha in-house. A lot of seating room, key for the bathrooms that are located outside and around the corner not too far from the shop. Friendly and helpful staff, I would return again when I’m in the area!

A great place and I love their ambience. Their service was amicable and quick. We got drip of the day coffee, hot chocolate and coffee latte. The coffee was fresh and the barista did a great job.

Very Cool Vibe! Inside and outside seating options—both are nice. Inside has a bit more comfy seating and outside is dog friendly. That’s a plethora of beverage options—surely one that suits your taste. Not your typical coffee, although there’s regular drip , but there’s everything else, including Turkish Coffee, a great Hot/Cold Tea Selection, Smoothies, Juices, etc! Definitely recommend. Stop in and give this local roaster a try!

Ordered one of their signature drinks, Turkish Latte. The taste was amazing. However, note that it is not the Turkish coffee (it is Latte). I liked the taste and beautiful design. The architecture of this coffee shop is outstanding. It becomes a little crowded and loud. While it is located close to beach, you don’t have a waterfront view. The staff were friendly and professional.

This has to be the best coffee shop in SoCal! Maybe even beyond!! Nothing even close in Orange County to the overall experience! First came here over 15 years ago. Back visiting and it’s still over the top!! Look up the story of Kean also!! P.s. And then I saw the article… “No Really!”

Thank you to every single person who works here. I'd been passing by here on my bike for years and I finally discovered this spot. It's one of my absolute favorite places now. I go all over the menu and everything is good. They serve to-go and sit in. It gets crowded sometimes, which is great for a coffee shop vibe, but they also take online orders (with reserved parking) if you're in a hurry. Don't be. Sit down and enjoy yourself. Do a crossword puzzle and see if a conversation happens. There's a very diverse crowd here. The whole staff stacks, sweeps, stocks and serves with a smile. It's really appreciated, cheers gang

Super easy parking, kind customer service and short wait time for my drink. Lots of seating inside and outside. The coffee itself was very bold and personally for me I like it a little less bold. Don't get me wrong it was good but a little too bold/earthy for me.

This place is absolutely adorable! The ambiance is perfect for a place to catch up with a friend or to sit an ponder life's greatest questions over a cup of coffee. The service is friendly with each individual barista offering a warm smile and that little something extra that makes the experience of getting coffee in the morning just that much better. The coffee is flavorful and rich and the pastries look thoughtfully and meticulously crafted. Overall, this place is great! Side note: For the sake of preserving the ambience, I would recommend not to come here if you're planning on working as they don't have wifi which to me indicates that they prefer their guests meet over coffee rather than work over it.

Cane here on Saturday morning and this place was pretty packed. There were plenty of seating and orders came out fast still. I got an iced latte and it was great. I even got some beans to take home.

100/10 experience!!!! Amazing seating both indoor and outdoors. When you walk in you are immediately greeted by multiple employees and they were all so lovely!!! The menu they offer is so big and different it has something for everyone!!! My boyfriend was so excited about all the different coffee, espresso options. We got the "single origin dipping chocolate" and it was unsweetened and was the perfect treat. It was like a thick hot chocolate and we both loved it! All of the pastries and breads looked amazing it was so hard for me to pick which one to try!!! We will be coming back tomorrow so I can try more!!

I haven't been to Kéan in years. This has always been one of my favorite coffee shops, mainly because they have Diedrich's coffee! You can smell the beans roasting when you walk through the doors. They have lots of tables, chairs and umbrellas outside, as well as great seating inside - including the couch! The staff are always so kind and helpful too. I noticed their menu has changed a lot, but many things have remained the same. I'm so happy they still sell Shirley's bagels...so good!

Kean Coffee is honestly phenomenal, probably one of the best coffee shops I've ever been to. The space itself is ridiculously vibey and cozy, the kind of place you actually want to hang out in for hours. I usually judge a coffee shop by their cold brew, since that's the real test. Let me tell you, a lot of places make cold brew that tastes like someone rinsed their feet in it. But Kean's? Absolutely incredible. Smooth, bold, and full of flavor without being bitter. I ordered a large, and it was so good I couldn't stop myself from drinking almost the whole thing in one go. Sure, I got some serious jitters afterward, but it was worth every sip. This place sets the standard for what coffee should be... quality drinks, great atmosphere, and an experience that makes you want to come back!!

This place never disappoints! I love the iced almond joy. Been loving this drink for 10+ years. Not overly coconut-y and just enough to give you the impression you are biting in to a an almond joy! Picked up a blueberry bagel for the road and I'm off to start my day!

Lots of places to sit, many options to choose from their menu. I got the Turkish coffee with almond milk, it's pretty good but $8.00 for a 160z. think adding almond milk was more than I expected. But overall the coffee is good, nice to try something different, it tastes like a latte with some distinct cardamom flavors. Would come back and try other drinks, more reviews then.

It took around 13 minutes to get the drink after ordering even though there was no line. The coffee is good though. The Turkish caffe latte with cardamom tasted great and wasn't too sweet.

My girlfriend and I frequent the best coffee spots in the NB/HB/CM area and somehow slept on Kean. Tonight we stopped in and were reminded how much great service matters. Alexa went above and beyond, listened, got creative, and made a custom drink that absolutely crushed it. As a former professional chef, I know how rare that level of care is. Kean is officially a new regular spot, and Alexa is our new favorite barista. If you haven't been to Kean yet... you're missing out.

Lots of parking in the shared lot, could see how it could get busy though. Place is cute & nicely decorated. Service was fast & friendly. I got the Turkish latte with oat milk, so flavorful & delicious. Typical price for Newport. Would recommend to anyone!

Solid coffee shop! It seems like this coffee shop has been a staple in Newport Beach because of the aged interior and older patrons here. Many people like to come here to study, chat, or even knit! It does feel a bit more crowded for a coffee shop, but seems like many people don't mind it at all. I saw that the Turkish latte was the most popular choice on Yelp so I decided to try it! I ordered a medium size (16oz?) which was actually a lot bigger than I thought haha. Trying the drink, it was very very floral. I didn't expect it to be that floral, so it was nice to try something different than the usual latte. Although, it's something I probably wouldn't get again the next time. My bf also wasn't really a fan of his americano because of the taste? So it could be that he should try a different drink, or maybe just not for him.

Kean Coffee is a great place to get sit outside and enjoy some fresh coffee. The menu offers various iced drinks. The coffee tastes great. They also sell the coffee to go but it's a bit too expensive. They have a lot of seating outside but minimal indoor seating.

Peachy, keen! The Turkish coffee was delicious and paired well with scone parm/chive scone. I usually just get plain black coffee but I really like their specialty drinks here. I met up with my hs friends (we've been friends for a looonnng time) while at home and it was so great to see them but this place brings back memories of our hang outs. The cafe is clean and has a lot of seating inside and outside. We opted to sit outside as it was a sunny day and we were a pretty large group since most of us have partners and a few have kids. The staff are always super friendly and service is pretty quick. They even warmed up our scone which was a great treat! Love these neighborhood cafes as there are so many ppl I recognize when I am home.

You could tell Kean uses high quality ingredients in their coffees. I ordered an iced Turkish latte and a cold brew. I thought I was being bold when I decided to try their signature Turkish latte. Turns out that I didn't enjoy the cardamom. The cold brew was delicious! The service here was absolutely amazing. Everyone was so nice and we didn't wait very long to receive our coffees.

I ordered an Iced Caffe Napoli with Soy Milk and it was delicious! The drink was not overly sweet, just enough for an afternoon pick-me-up without the guilt. The service was fast; I walked in, ordered, and got my drink in less than five minutes. The café is lively, with patrons chatting, reading, or studying. There's plenty of parking in the plaza where this café is located.

Great drinks, weird energy around no Wi-Fi This spot has great coffee, teas, and craft drinks--no complaints there. Beautiful seating, cozy atmosphere--it looks like the perfect spot to post up and get some work done. But don't be fooled. Be warned: there is NO Wi-Fi and no outlets. None. Zip. I asked the staff if there was Wi-Fi, and not only did they say "no," but they also looked at me like I was the problem for even asking. No explanation, no sign, just awkward eye contact and a weird little smirk exchanged between them, like I had committed a faux pas by expecting basic access in a café setting. It's 2025. If you don't offer Wi-Fi, that's your prerogative--but put up a sign! I wouldn't have come in or ordered if I had known. Just be upfront so folks can make an informed choice. Otherwise, it feels like a trap. Great drinks, strange energy. Won't be back unless they change that. So yes, great drinks. But if you're hoping to get work done, charge your devices, or even check your email, go somewhere else.

The enjoy the vibes here and they make a decent matcha but there are some major downsides. For one they raised their prices recently. They have no public internet WiFi or outlets. It can take a while for your order depending on how busy it is, def not your in and out kind of place. If your are coming here for a lazy Sunday and plan to talk to someone face to face only then this is your place but its not conducive to working unless you have a hotspot.

KEAN coffee is the best , the atmosphere, friendly service, delicious drinks and goodies . We usually go to Tustin location Im not sure if its still in operation but Kean was always great place for us to grab coffee and some matcha drinks .

Kean Coffee in Newport is outstanding! The coffee drinks are exceptional every time, but the customer service is just as great. Special shout-out to Andrew for excellent, friendly service, and a nod to the girl behind the counter who always has the coolest, most creative makeup. Love this place!

I got a cold brew with sugar-free hazelnut syrup . They offered multiple different sugar-free flavors. I thought it tasted good, not a super dark roast and also not a ton of hazelnut flavor. My friend got the iced almond Joy latte with whole milk He enjoyed it. They had a large menu of many different types of drinks. They offer more than one size which I always appreciate . The price was pretty typical. They accepted contactless payment. The service was relatively quick, especially considering how busy it was . The barista's answered our questions. I was impressed by the amount of things available to add to the drink on the side. - cinnamon, shakers, cocoa powder, shakers sweetener packets, etc. They even had bottles of milk and creamer. It was pretty busy so there were not any seats available, but there were a good amount of seats in there. It's not in a super walkable area otherwise overall i had a good experience and would love to return to review more items from their extensive menu. I would love an invite back!

When looking for high quality, there's no where else in the area that you can confidently say can top Kean Coffee Artisan Roasters! The story behind the coffee shop was opened by the owner who was trained by Martin Diedrich, a respected and highly successful for artisan coffee and innovative coffee roasting. The results are telling in the coffee here and as other reviews say, taste and quality are top notch. Having said this, you can't really go wrong with any type of coffee you order. The only criticism I can say is the lack of WIFI and outlets that the coffeeshop purposely appears to lack. I completely understand the push to make the environment one that cultivates a social atmosphere, but in this day and age a lot of folks have the goal to come to a coffeeshop to be productive and would need to connect to internet. I do respect the movement however, and this is what would make Kean a great date, friend hangout, or business meeting setting. Staff here is great and gets the coffee orders out quickly. Parking is usually easy but can be an issue at times when it gets busy. The bathrooms are outside on the side of the building and you'll need to ask for a key at the register to access them.

This place is very delightful . They roast their coffee beans on site and you can taste the freshness in every sip. The atmosphere inside was cozy , relaxed and inviting. It was clean ,organized and lovely . The staff is friendly and welcoming. All the coffee, lattes were very delicious. We had Napoli lattes and they were truly tasty, not too bitter, not too sweet, just perfect lattes, very flavorful and tasty ! Try the oat milk in your coffee or latte for a wonderful treat! For all my coffee lovers, this is your spot! I came here on a weekday afternoon with my husband for a quick coffee run. Food: 9/10 There were so many different coffee options but I opted for a classic almond milk latte. The barista did a great job with the art on the froth! Makes the experience of sitting down so much better. The coffee had a robust flavor and was not too bitter! They had pastries and snacks as well! Price: 8/10 for a small latte, I paid around $6 with the additional almond milk upcharge. Most of the coffees you would expect to pay around $5-8 depending if you add any non-dairy milks/syrups. Ambiance: 9.5/10 This shop is so cute! it reminded me of a vintage, european style cafe, just alot bigger. You get a rustic coffee shop vibe with a few seating setups. Staff: Staff was very friendly and helpful with answering my questions about their favorite coffees.

Beautiful, comfortable interior, conducive to relaxing, visiting with a friend, or just hanging with a good book. Extensive and creative drink menu, great choice of pastries. The Almond Joy Latte, decaf with oat milk, had a nice strong coffee flavor, but no coconut that I could detect. Still yummy. This would probably be one of my go-to cafes if it were more convenient to my house. Update: although I asked for a decaf drink, I think it was caffeinated. I spent a jittery afternoon trying to "come down" from the coffee high. Not so fun.

I was really excited to try Kean! It has super cozy vibes, and looks very early-mid 2000s vibes. I was sad that their iced almond joy with almond milk didn't taste so great. It almost tasted sour? There are also no outlets to plug in the laptop and work or stuffy. But, I have to say that their parking is very accessible. Also, their guava and cheese danish as well as quiche lorraine were very tasty.

If you love coffee then this is the place for you, from a good cup of coffee to a delicious iced coffee. You can't go wrong coming here. The staff was so nice, I do not remember the guys name but he had a sweet mustache. Recommend the iced almond joy coffee which hit the spot. Place was busy but the wait was short. Very chill, very relaxing.

Great Turkish Cardammon Latte here! always hit the spot! Cozzy and comfy vibe, this is my to go spot for morning latte.

I asked for a caramel macchiato which they didn't have - no problem. I asked if they have a sweet cream so it wasn't just straight expresso. They said they have milk .... So I changed it to a Carmel frappe and I overhear the back barista say - the Starbucks special huh in a rude tone. Once my drink came out no one said it was mine. There was one really nice blonde girl in the back that said thank you when I grabbed it. She was the only one who even seamed to care.

Nice local coffee shop. Have gluten free options. Quite busy all throughout the day. Nice seating outside. Parking could be scarce because this place is very popular. Great service. Trust

Always great coffee. My go to in OC for years. It can take a minute to get your drink, but that's because they don't just have it sitting on deck and they brew it fresh to order. I get a mocha and it's always delightful. Martin Deidrich is a pillar in Orange County coffee houses. If you haven't been here, check it out. I know there's a lot of choices out there and I've tried a lot of of them, but Kéans can stand up to any of the finest coffee shops.

Always love coming to Kean's Coffee. Great selection of coffees hot and cold as well as plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. Also like how they are open till 8:00 pm to where other coffee shops close earlier. The baristas here are always helpful and friendly. They give great suggestions and service on their drinks and pastries. Pretty chill vibe and atmosphere here especially at night if you wanna come outside and have a hot drink on a cold night and read a good book. Bathroom is located outside need to ask for a key from the counter. Highly recommend Kean's!

While dropping my wife off at Physical Therapy, I noticed this business and thought to myself, why not get a beverage. Not being in the mood for a hot coffee, I decided to get something out of the norm. Today I had a White Chocolate Hazelnut Iced Coffee. It was extremely tasty!! I got my coffee to go, but I noticed they have plenty of seating inside. Parking can be tight. Overall a great experience.

Employees were very helpful and friendly. Even though the place was busy the baristas were hustling and got my drinks out quickly. Decent piping hot coffee.

Kéan coffee smells wonderful when you walk in because they roast coffee in the back. Many other places roast at a factory location, but not kean. The coffee roaster, Ted, who was on duty was amazing, friendly, and explained the different beans to me. Awesome experience.

Love the sweet, rich aroma and full body taste (Golden Mean Expresso beans from. Northern Italy) of my Cafe Napoli here at Kean Coffee Artisan Roaster. Staff were friendly and helpful with suggestions. Relaxing and cozy ambiance makes this a place a must-visit in the morning. Highly recommended!

The hot lattes are great, cant say the same about the cold drinks. I haven't tried the food but I've tried the cold brew and vanilla latte, I couldn't finish either of them.

We stopped by for an afternoon treat. Note that while Kean is close to the ocean, there's no waterfront view. But there is plenty of parking! Coffee is excellent, even if it's your most basic order here. I got the Turkish latte, which is just a latte with cardamom, not Turkish coffee. It was nuanced and semi-sweet, definitely worth trying if you love lattes like me. My husband got a cappuccino and enjoyed it. We also shared the raspberry oat bar, which was delicious and made fresh. The atmosphere is super cozy and welcoming, and the staff is delightful. Keep in mind they don't provide WiFi, so they are aiming for more of a social cafe.

Love this place-great location, tasty product, friendly service. You actually feel like you can sit a bit and not be rushed out. Great neighborhood feel.

Beautifully roasted and a darling place for a snack! I love being able to get freshly roasted coffee and take it home and enjoy it! I also gave some of my bags to a friend and she is now going there to get her coffee! Highly recommend!
