8 Restaurants With Private-ish Spaces For You And Exactly Five Friends
"You’re the same kind of weird as us if your first mental image when reading Kebab Queen is Old Lizzy telling Phillip to go and grab more chilli for her midnight doner. If only. Sadly, you won’t find any hungry royals at this 8-seater spot in the basement of Maison Bab, but you will find a unique chef’s table experience. It’s £70 per person and you’ll get dishes like foie gras kebabitos, monkfish shish kebabs with crispy chicken skin, and a tarted up spit-roat duck situation. Kicking off at 7.30 from Wednesday to Saturday, you can book for six people on their website." - heidi lauth beasley

We had the best time at Kebab Queen. Chef Pam and his group created a wonderful menu, which not only tasted amazing but they also prepared right in front of us. Such a unique and fun experience, which was made even better by how lovely and kind everyone was. Every dish was explained, with guidance on how to best enjoy it. Questions about preparation and ingredients were answered with so much detail that you could really feel the love and passion Chef Pam has for his food and heritage. It was so interesting to hear about the background of the dishes and try unique flavour combinations. We will definitely be back and spread the word!

A private Chef experience downstairs - incredibly food. An explosion of flavors and I enjoyed the wine pairing with the chefs omakase menu. It’s so nice to see everything prepared and cooked in front of your eyes. The chef also explained the origins of each dish which made it culturally educational too. Super

Had the loveliest time here tonight. I had high expectations for the tasting menu after I’ve seen the samples on instagram but the reality surpassed the expectations. The most exciting part is eating directly from the chef’s table (well in this case, the counter). I was sooo taken aback by how they keep everywhere so clean and tidy, including the kitchen. I could definitely see how chef Pam was as diligent with his utensils as he is with the food he prepares. They launched the new menu just before we went so that was exciting too. My fav was bisque and monkfish, can’t recommend this enough it was a taste fest. I also loved the quince and celeriac terrine on cabbage leaves. The way he grilled the leaves it was such a showstopper. Thanks to the other chefs and whoever involved in making this possible. Would love to come back for the next menu. They take dietary restrictions and made seafood based version for someone who’s pescatarian and halal versions for me & my friend which is great. A little downside though, I think at least one drink should be included in a 7 course menu.

Where to start?! A deliciously unique dinner, every single course had so many beautifully combined flavours to make up unique twists on traditional Turkish dishes and the wines paired perfectly! The kebab course really stood out for me…I’d go as far as saying, best lamb chop of my life!!

A wonderful show of how to combine the best of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food in a fun setting where you wonder why not enough places force you to eat with your hands.
The flavour combinations are perfect and the joy of picking it all up with your hands just gets better as you go through the dishes. Probably one of the best gazpacho creations I've had, alongside definitely the best kebab ever. The pastry filled with crab was to die for and I could have eaten another entire artichoke.
It's quite hard to measure tasting menus so that it isn't too filling as well as nailing the main course - this place does both very well. The main course really finishes every savoury dish off. I've found many places that just dump a bit of meat for the main course and it's just filler, but Kebab Queen nails it.
Can't recommend this place enough for a fun and delicious dinner with a fabulous host.
I'd say the wine list could do with some love - as I think there are things that could go really well with the dishes, but it's a side note more than anything.
Must go in London.

Whole new experience. The actual restaurant is hidden behind an unused kitchen in the basement. The chef prepares the food in front of you and you’ll be eating from a hot table plate directly. Good fun and present in a fun way.
