I'd been on the hunt for a good cannoli spot in Seattle, so I was pretty excited when I heard about Kelly Cannoli. One day, while I was driving through the area, I decided to make a spontaneous visit.
Kelly Cannoli, over in Lake City, is set up as an espresso stand. I pulled up to the stand, ordered a cannoli at the counter, and, despite limited parking options, the barista kindly suggested I park my car next to hers. This way, I could enjoy my cannoli at one of the few outdoor tables they had set up. The barista quickly made my cannoli and handed it to me at the counter.
I went for the large traditional cannoli, which came filled with standard white cream. One side of the cannoli had chocolate chips, and the other had pistachios with a cherry on top. The price tag was $6, and I have to admit, I was hoping for a bigger cannoli at that price. But, size aside, the cannoli itself was delightful. The cream was nice and light, not overly sweet, and the shell had that perfect mix of crunch and airiness. Plus, the combo of chocolate chips and pistachios added some great flavor and texture.
Since I wasn't too hungry, I stuck to just one cannoli. But I'm definitely intrigued to go back and try out some of their other cream flavors, like espresso or lemon zest.
