Good Chinese food. Served and tasted fresh. General Tso’s came crunchy. No artificial tastes like you get in panda or other Chinese restaurants. Is this knock your socks off Chinese? I don’t think so. It’s regular Chinese cooked well and deserves the 5 star because of quality. (Price: general tso with white rice $20 (other dishes that are similar had same price), beef egg roll was 2.75)

The food here has always been tasty and the portions are decent size. The bbq pork has a light and savory sauce that they add to the dish. It kept the meat moist as well as adding a delicious twist to the dish. We got chicken fried rice and General Tsao chicken. Both were flavordul dishes I would order again. When finkshed eating we had enough to combine the General Tsao to the rest of my chicken fried rice creating another sweet and savory dish to eat at home! The staff are really friendly and are consistently looking to be of further service. If you're looking for super-tasty Chinese food after a movie or some shopping, swing in and try them out.

Google
Great little Chinese place near JBER base! Offers military discount. They have an excellent take out lunch special with a hot to go bar. Highly recommend this place. Small dining area for sitting to eat and drinks to go to. Workers are always friendly and eager to help!

Google
Great place near JBER that delivers on base, and kept their military discount even through the pandemic. I like the roast duck here a lot. Food can be spicier than you might expect. Had lo mein which was fairly spicy, which I wasn't expecting. Tasted good though. This place is also responsible for saving tofu for me. I'm generally pretty anti-vegetarian food due to some things that happened in my past. But the mapo tofu is one of the best things I've eaten, and I almost always order it. It's not actually vegetarian of course, since the dish contains pork. But the braised tofu is great too. I generally hate tofu and I'll preferentially order it here because it's so good. Good service, pretty low key atmosphere. We have eaten from Kenny's many times and never had a bad experience.

Google
Amazing and delicious dumplings and sauce! This is definitely a scrumptious local Chinese comfort food take-away restaurant. So much better than the corporate Panda Express. Yum! The dumplings were the best and I would go back for them but the rest was standard fast food Chinese fare.

Google
Kenny's is a solid restaurant, the menu is broad, the food is pretty good, and the portions are generous. The prices are decent for Alaska. You could definitely do a lot worse.

Google
Oh. My. God. I’m actually gonna bust. I love it here so much. I could literally spin the menu around and point at something random and it would be incredible. Best restaurant ever. Amazing.

Google
Always get the Kung Pao chicken with extra chili, and steamed dumplings 🤤🤤 looove it

Yelp
Decided to have a Chinese night for the family and looked around the anchorage area for ones that had high ratings and decent photos. I came across Kenny's Kitchen and decided to go with the general tso's chicken for myself and vegetable lo mein and crab rangoon for the family. Well, the chicken dishes do come with a small container of steamed rice. The price of $20 seemed pretty high up front. They do offer a 10% military discount, which does help. The food was absolutely amazing for the price point. We ended up each having three small meals worth of food. We ended up going back a second time the week after and went with the orange chicken and sweet and sour shrimp. The size portions again were massive and made three meals. Most individuals could get 2-3 meals out of each portion.

Yelp
Nasty food and very little flavor.. I really wish I had listened to the reviews before ordering.

Yelp
Parking is ample and Kenny's is always clean and staff are friendly and efficient. I had my favorite soup the Spicy Seafood Noodle but I asked if I good have the smaller noodles instead of the larger ones. The broth is always spicy and well seasoned. The soup contains noodles, green onions, shredded carrots, white onions, cabbage, medium shrimp, scallops, a mussel in half shell, squid. See the photo for the amounts of ingredients. The bowl is large approximately two quarts for $19.00. My wife had the half bowl of Hot and Sour Soup. The broth looked excellent and she said it was tasty and satisfying with a mix of vegetables. We had two vegetable egg rolls. They were hot and fried crispy but not oily. Well filled and one the small size but tasted great. They have table sitting for 34 and a steady take out and delivery business. At lunch time with have buffet selection for a set price of $15.00. U walk up a choose your items for eat in or take out. They have sodas and a selection of energy drinks. The buffet is excellent for those in a hurry. I highly recommend this restaurant for families as well as anyone the likes Chinese food. They have a full menu of dishes.

Yelp
We frequented this establishment often when we were stationed at JBER. We have left since then. But I have to say that since we had Kenny's for three years, we compare every Chinese food restaurant to Kenny's and it never compares. It's that good! Service was always great! Food is awesome. A review stated it was "safer" to go to Panda Express. The person who left that review IS the problem, not the restaurant. That's like saying, "Don't get the gourmet burger, you're better off going to McDonald's". That reviewer only knows subpar food, not Good food. Disregard that review, they don't know much about quality. Kenny's is the bomb!

Yelp
Had food delivered, a little wary when the delivery time said 70-80 minutes from 2 miles away. Ordered three dishes including won ton soup. The food arrived 20 minutes early and was still plenty hot. The soup was a quart, we were shocked at the size and it was a very good soup. The fried dumplings were also good but lacked seasoning. The final dish was house fried rice which contained beef, pork, and chicken. It was okay but was on single flavor; all the meats tasted the same, no soy flavor, no fish sauce flavor, just rice. Overall, for a meal delivered to our hotel room in Alaska, it was a good meal.

Christina V.

Yelp
First and last time coming here. Got the $15 lunch special and the food was so bland! You're safer just going to Panda Express.

Yelp
Best Chinese in Anchorage. Also bottom line up front for my military guys, they deliver on JBER so send it because it's cheaper and better than anything on Doordash. Kenny's delivers rich, authentic flavors. The Szechuan Eggplant and Szechuan beef (at least when order Hellfire spicy) deliver the perfect mix of garlic, onion, chili, and szechuan peppercorn to get a pleasant sweat and a numb tongue with a deep and delicious flavor, and don't let the prices fool you, the portions for a dinner are easily two meals for someone who didnt run 8 miles today. The food is delicious, wholesome, and extremely flavorful. Service is friendly and fast. There's no reason to go to Panda 500 yards away when you can get real Chinese food right here in Tikhatnu. If you're willing to branch out past Kung Pao Chicken, Kenny's is by far the best and most reliable place I've found so far in Anchorage for generous portions of delicious, flavorful food at a reasonable price. Absolutely give them your business anytime you're craving Chinese food and you won't regret it.

Yelp
I really like the food. We've never eaten in house but always order for pickup. Small interior and nice employees. My go to order sesame chicken and crab wontons. You do get a good portion of food.

Yelp
I like the name Kenny's Chinese "comfort food". For us it is. A few different dishes take me back to younger days. Their version of Breaded Almond Chicken is exactly the same as a restaurant in Oak Park, Michigan called The Golden Bowl. Recalling a wonderful memory! On the bill our server is listed as Leeboy, but everyone here is fantastic. There's a language barrier, but we overcome it. The cost is within reason and the atmosphere is just fine. Parking can be a pain. We park away from the building in an easy-out. The dumplings are great. The vegetable fried rice, even better. It's a quick, easy meal. Perfect for us on the way to work. They even offer the 10% military discount. Funny thing, you'd think after two visits a week over three months, they'd remember and automatically apply the discount. Only one young man does. The rest you have to remind them each and every time. No worries. The way I see it, it's the customer's responsibility to redeem! 11/22

Yelp
Wowwww!!!! So delicious.. house egg foo young was the best we ever had. We ordered four entrees for two adults and our teen. We ate it three times. Friendly staff, clean place, and delicious food, our new favorite Chinese food restaurant!
google avatar

Patricia H.

Yelp
We moved from the East coast to Alaska and missed the Chinese food we use to get. We found this place one day and have never turned back. Egg Foo Yung is amazing here if your looking for it. They can substitute brown gravy if you ask but the gravy that comes with it is also delicious. Get extra if you can the rice soaks it up. If your dining in or taking to go ask for the fried wontons in a bag, and get the house hit mustard and sweet sour sauce. Freaking amazing! And really big portions. If you try it let me know what you think. I hope you enjoy it.

Houston S.

Yelp
Perfectly executed American Chinese food at a very reasonable price. I don't know how anyone who likes American Chinese food could give this less than 5 stars.

Sue C.

Yelp
Even after 7 yrs.....we still think this place is the best. Always good!! Service is spot on!!

Taylia H.

Yelp
Service 0/0; this restaurant is horrible, terrible at customer service. We ordered food via online and food was cold and grimy; called to ask for either refund or food to be remade, neither of which they wanted to do. They ended up cancelling order and stated I would get a refund (stated online aswell). Been almost three weeks and still no refund. Called the store today and they said they will not be giving refund. As someone in the restaurant business customer service should always be top priority and they have failed. Honestly wouldn't recommend this place.
google avatar

Ryan J.

Yelp
Good portions. Not very authentic, but very good for Alaska. I've been several times. Just stick to the "American/Chinese " stuff!

Casey W.

Yelp
The service was excellent and the food was perfect. My family loved their food and was surprised by how fast the food came out. The owner even served made sure our drinks were refilled. The restaurant was also super clean.
google avatar

Ivan C.

Yelp
I can always count on Kennys Kitchen for delicious Chinese food. Everything here has a natural flavor to it and the vegetables on my dish are always perfectly cooked.
google avatar

Jordan T.

Yelp
Pork Fried Rice, sweet and sour pork and the bourbon chicken. We have been in AK since 2018 and have such a hard time find a good Chinese restaurant. This place is amazing. We will definitely be coming back.
google avatar

Quincy B.

Yelp
The food at Kenny's is consistent and the service is friendly. For such as small dining area which can be a little customer-dense at times, it still gets food out quickly.

Deandre G.

Yelp
Good food, fast service, and a good serving size. They also do military discount %10.

Pam T.

Yelp
Normally we really enjoy Kenny's ;however, last month, was a different story. We ordered our food to be delivered to our hotel room. At first it was a 2 hour wait, but that was no big deal. When approaching 3 hours, we called back to check on the order. Was told it had been delivered already. Evidently, the delivery person gave our prepaid , tipped, and service charged order of $80+ to someone in the lobby --even though the instructions were to bring it to the room. Then with a lot of back and forth, we got the order after waiting well over an hour again. Asked for some sort of compensation...nothing. Refunding the service charge would have been the decent thing to do. Szechuan beef was still tasty, but the side of fried rice was less than desirable. Old rice with sauce--/ no veggies or egg. Will definitely be finding a new place.
google avatar

Kerri H.

Yelp
This place was SO good. My husband and I tried it on a whim and we were blown away. We got the appetizer sampler that had shrimp tempura, fried dumpling, BBQ pork, and egg rolls. Everything was cooked to perfection. I ordered the orange chicken and chicken fried rice while my husband went for the roasted duck. We were pleasantly surprised with how fast the food was prepared and how amazing it all tasted. You can dine in (11 tables available), take out, or they deliver within a certain area (to include JBER). Employees were very friendly and quick. We will definitely be coming back here.
google avatar

Yelp
Pretty much the whole reason I started Yelp was because I was tired of going to places and paying $14+ for crap food. I had Mongolian Beef and it was gross. Extremely salty. Meat was dry and the "fried rice" was just rice with soy sauce on it. The only time I could see myself eating here again is to cure a hangover. Cheap greasy food. The only positive I will give is customer service. They were extremely kind.

Bill W.

Yelp
Good fast Chinese food. Service was super fast, food was fresh. Small dinning room, very basic. My kids love it.
google avatar

Lisa Y.

Yelp
Meh. I got Mongolian beef. It was a lot of food. Too many onions. Beef was tough and pieces were really hard to eat. I love soft, sticky steamed rice. But not this rice. Undercooked and hard. Yuck. I couldn't even eat it. Probably wouldn't return. $15. Lots of leftovers that I wouldn't eat. Wasn't good enough the first time.

Yelp
Convenient location, clean restaurant, flavorful foods!! My husband and I were craving some delicious Chinese food for a while until we found this place!!! You have to try their Szechuan beef noodle soup. They actually used Chinese spices to make it hot and spicy and it is so flavorful and delicious. My husband made it extra hot spicy and he really enjoyed it. It will make you sweat and cry but in a good way. I had Mongolian beef and it was really good too. The smoky flavor and juicy tender meats accompanied the fried rice so well. The portion was plentiful too. Service was quick and attentive. Hot tea refill was very quick and timely. I would definitely make it one of my favorite Chinese food in town and will come back again and again.

Yelp
Not going back again. Been a loyal customer since my first review and enjoyed every plate and friendly staff. Kids loved it. But yesterday the cooks pulled bad food on me twice. Ordered the House Low Mein, which I've ordered many times in the past and am very familiar with how it tastes. It was one of my favorite Kenny's dishes. About halfway into the meal I start realizing the beef tastes funny. It was starting to go bad. Not one piece but nearly all beef pieces tasted funny, like greenish meat, I know the taste. I asked for a replacement dish, the roast duck because that was also a favorite and one of their best dishes. I asked for it to go since by that time my family was almost done with their meals. At home we open the container and find that they gave us nasty looking burnt duck pieces. Looks like Kenny's felt like I was pulling a trick on them or something and wanted a little justice. Not ever going back. I can't enjoy a restaurant I can't trust.
google avatar

Heather J.

Yelp
Good for American style Chinese food. Went there with my sister she ordered the dumpling soup and I ordered mapo tofu. Was vary American. But good American food and the customer service was excellent
google avatar

Eammon B.

Yelp
Kenny's restaurant has some good things going for it. The buffet option makes grabbing a quick, cheap bite for lunch feasible. They have a handful of meat, vegetable, and noodle options hot and ready. For $9.00 you can pick one item and a heaping serving of rice. There is ample parking and plenty of seating on the inside. The staff is super friendly, and I got the feeling that they want customers to leave happy and full! Unfortunately, the dishes from the buffet didn't really do it for me. The teriyaki chicken and Mongolian beef were ample in quantity, but lacking a bit on quality. The aforementioned positives provide plenty of reason to try Kenny's again. I will probably give the menu items a try next round.
google avatar

Susie G.

Yelp
wow, this place has really gone downhill. ordered cashew chicken and it was so bad, sauce on it was odd and thick. I asked for fried rice with it and got white rice with the same brown thick sauce on it. yuk. ordered 2 vegetable egg rolls and got this soggy flaky thin crust wrapped around veg. yuk. Did management change? what happened to this place. I bough same food and dropped off for a friend since we are all on quarantine. I am going to call her...I'm embarrassed to ask how her food was. boo
google avatar

Richard K.

Yelp
Honestly I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I've only eaten there once but once was enough to make me not want to come back. I ordered takeout and went and picked it up myself. The good thing is that they were quick to get the food to me, however once I got home I was seriously disappointed. The sesame chicken that I had ordered was not at all what I had expected. While it was a big portion it was not acceptable as it was runny and not really tasty. The fried rice was a joke it was literally like white rice with soy sauce poured over it and put it in the box there was no fried to that fried rice. I was so disappointed and I hate to give them a one but it was just so displeasing that I do not want anybody to eat there.
google avatar

Carrie G.

Yelp
We went for a work lunch and all my coworkers like this place. I ended up getting the two item lunch special. They piled so much food on the plate it was practically falling off. Since I got the lunch combo it probly wasn't as fresh as if I'd ordered from the menu. I got the noodles, steamed rice and sweet and sour chicken. Noodles was an item. They were pretty good, thick noodles. The chicken was kinda dry but the sauce was good. Standard rice. They have Pepsi fountain drinks but you can get whatever in a can. The ladies were pretty nice. I want to go back and try the walnut shrimp.

Chanelle D.

Yelp
I've never been to Kenny's Kitchen before, so I decided to give it a try and I was overall pleased with my service. Food was decent, some things could be improved. We came in on Sunday lunch time and it wasn't busy at all. We were greeted and seated right away. They were very friendly and helpful. I ordered the Walnut Shrimp which it came with rice, white or fried. I opted for the fried rice. It's a fried tempura shrimp in a sweet sauce. The outside was crunchy, which I loved even when the sauce had been sitting on it for a good while. The fried rice was awful. Seemed like it was old rice and they just re-served it. It was very hard and didn't have taste to it. So that was a bummer. Aside from the fried rice, the main dish was delicious. I will definitely try this place again with an open mind.
google avatar

Carla R.

Yelp
I hate leaving less than 5 star reviews . And I do want to say some positive things . It is clean in there, the people are very nice. They give a military discount . I really wanted to like this place.
google avatar

Nikki G.

Yelp
I would actually give 4.5 stars but either way- this food is definitely good- Szechuan chicken is spicy but the best!! Ask for Szechuan shrimp (not on the menu) with chicken- the best dish I have had from there. This is where the .5 comes off the 5th star- I tried to order the custom dish again and they said bc it was not on the menu they would charge me $1 per shrimp. :( these are popcorn shrimp size shrimp. I totally understand why but I can't justify a $10 upcharge for 10 shrimp. Maybe if enough people req the dish they will add it to their menu. It is the best!! Yum!!
google avatar

Crystal Grace G.

Yelp
What impressed me the most was the astounding service that was given to us from a young boy that worked there. He seemed almost TOO young to be there but he was extremely great and I was very impressed. Food was a bit too expensive for my liking but other than that everything was decent.
google avatar

Courtney Z.

Yelp
So disappointed! I was having. A hankering for sweet n sour chicken and fried rice. While I got a large amount, this was not what I was expecting: slightly dry chicken in fired mushy casing that absorbed all the sauce dumped in it. The fried rice is worse. Just white rice covered in something brown. No veggies or egg in it. No flavor at all.
google avatar

Manny C.

Yelp
Wow. Zero customer service. I can tell this place caters to doordash and that's about it these days. They might as well close down their dine in section. A young guy told me to have a seat and another one came to the table and handed me a menu. Seems like a family owned and run establishment. The teenaged looking kids sat at tables and played on their phones and helped around the restaurant occasionally. I basically ordered my food, had to ask for something to drink. (I was not asked) Another young man brought out my food and ask if I needed anything else. It wasn't until he left that I noticed he didn't bring any silverware, napkins or offer to fill up my water. I had to walk to the front to grab my own silverware. When I was about done, a young man finally asked me if I wanted more water. I asked for napkins and no apology for not bringing them sooner. So zero situational awareness, on the autism spectrum, or just poorly trained or all of the above. Food was decent but overpriced. Almost $20 a plate for what equates to basically Americanized Chinese food you would get from a mall food court

Megan S.

Yelp
The food was good and ready in 15 minutes. The customer service was great I felt appreciated.

Faye P.

Yelp
Excellent! Everything was so good and hot and fresh! Chicken broccoli was excellent. The broccoli was SO god and fresh! The chicken was tender and cooked perfectly. The pork fried rice was wonderful!
google avatar

Nate S.

Yelp
Ordered the bourbon chicken with fried rice. Got a bad first impression all around. They put about a pint of liquid, from what I assume they cook the chicken in, in the styrofoam to-go box. Thankfully they put the box in a separate plastics bag so it wasn't as bad as it could have been. Also the "fried rice" that you get when you pay the $2 upcharge from normal steamed rice only has seasoning and egg. It reminded me of boxed rice meal (Tasted like cajun rice). They gave a big potion and my wife enjoyed her food. (Gen Sous Chicken w/broccoli) I'll give them another shot but so far I'm an Oriental Garden customer.
google avatar

Casey D.

Yelp
When I think of a Chinese food plate I think of Kenny's the price is right and the quality of food is great! I love the variety of meats and starches available here. It's always great at Kenny's.
google avatar

John J.

Yelp
Large hot portions at a responsible price for Anchorage with attentive and pleasant staff. I would have given it 5 stars except for the sterile environment- it was clean but felt cafeteria like. Great place to eat!!

Yelp
I decided to come back here for dinner after being away for quite some time. Kenny's Kitchen is located in the large shopping plaza at the north end of Muldoon right by the movie theater and across from Target. The place was not busy when I came in and a friendly waitress greeted me and told me to take a seat anywhere I'd like. The seating area is more of a cozy intimate setting rather than an open, laid out one. I ordered the Almond Chicken with steamed rice and an unsweetened Ice Tea. It took about ten minutes for my order to arrive with most of the priority placed on delivery and to-go orders. The Almond Chicken was okay. There was plenty of delicious steamed vegetables and crunchy almonds but the chicken itself had very little flavor even with the sauce added to it. I was really hoping for more based on my previous visits here especially for a dish that was $14. The mediocre taste of the meal prompted me to go with three stars instead of four this time around, but that hasn't deterred me from coming back here in the future to try the other dishes. The Fried Chicken Wings appetizer is one of the best I've had from a Chinese restaurant and highly recommended with any meal. Members of the military always get a discount when dining here as well as lunch specials on several of their menu items every day. It was a probably on off-day for these guys, but I will come back to try Kenny's Bourbon Chicken, the Five Spice Beef Tendon Noodle Soup, the Roast Duck (a longtime favorite of mine at Chinese restaurants), and of course the wings.
google avatar

Damon S.

Yelp
Not very good or authentic. Mongolian beef was tough, sesame chicken was soggy, and bourbon chicken was watery.
google avatar

Caitlin E.

Yelp
As far as Chinese goes in Anchorage, this is THE place to go. As far as Chinese food in general? Nothing to get too excited about. If I'm going to see a movie in the area, it's your best bet for a quick and decent meal. Neighboring restaurants are usually a wait. I went last Saturday and had Sesame chicken. Well prepared and good portions. Like I said - good Chinese but not the best I've ever had. Will go here again but it's not a place I'll suggest unless someone is over there anyway and doesn't have the time for Texas Roadhouse.
google avatar

Barney Y.

Yelp
Jesus. I haven't been here for months and Kenny's is still a disappointment. I ordered teriyaki chicken, and it was raw. I had to cook it in my pan because I didn't see the point of coming back.
google avatar

Kaitlin G.

Yelp
Been coming here by myself for three years and today was the first time I was asked to sit somewhere else. Love me some Kenny's but the service is not warm or welcoming. It is a seat yourself situation. A very slow Monday night, I had handfuls of my riding gear. I sat myself at a four top. The waitress came over and asked me to move to the next table, a two top, because they need it for any "possible" walk in four tops. Not a big deal if the place weren't dead. Food was great, besides the same waitress literally tossing my menu at the table. I'll return for the food but girl in the converse shoes needs an attitude adjustment.
google avatar

Yelp
Best food in Anchorage! We absolutely love Kenny's! It's so great that they deliver on base! The food is phenomenal, and comes with a lot. There are always leftovers for lunch the next day! My favorite is the Curry Chicken with Steamed Rice(I get no bell pepper&no onion), and the veggie lo mein(no onion) is a close second! I also order some type of chicken eight he lo mein as well. I mix it up each time. Literally all of them are amazing. The orange chicken and sesame chicken are two of my faves. My husband gets the Chicken Katsu with steamed rice and broccoli with extra Katsu sauce! It's his favorite place to order that meal. The staff is always so nice& their service is fast and perfect! Never had an order come out wrong.
