Ordered the regular cod and chips with mushy peas. Fish was fresh-ish, decent white flakes inside and the batter was crispy in places, though a bit greasy and soggy towards the bottom of the box. Chips were proper chip-shop chips — thick-cut and soft inside — but could have done with another minute in the fryer. Mushy peas were standard, nothing special.
Service was quick and no-nonsense: order, pay, wait three minutes, done. Staff were polite enough, didn’t chat much but got everything right.
Price is about what you’d expect (£9.50 for regular cod & chips). Not the best fish and chips I’ve ever had, not the worst either. If you’re nearby and fancy a quick portion, it’s perfectly fine. I’d come back if I was passing, but I wouldn’t go out of my way. Just your average chippy, really.
