Kerala Express

First of all, the location will confuse you. It is in a sort of business strip, in a faceless, characterless corner of South Irving, without even a name board. My guess is that the place is not zoned for food service. Second, food is, as the name claims 100% Kerala. Unapologetically so. So if you are looking for generic Indian stuff like naan and butter chicken, wrong place to go. Food is very tasty, period. But it feels unhealthy, soaked/dripping in oil. I had an upset stomach the first time I ate here. The girl who was managing the cash counter and waiting on us at the same time was exceptionally good. Nice, well spoken and efficient. She flat out refused to accept a tip at the end, which was unbelievable in this day and age. Interior is basic, and pricing is slightly above average.

Great food! Authentic Kerala food! We love the buffet and definitely will keep coming back on the weekends to enjoy it.

Nice store with all Indian grocery. Specialty is the availability of South Indian items in detail. Staff also good mannered.

They have the worst service you can expect. I have been on call with them requesting to have Sandhya to be packed for one person. They just say they will not do it and it has to be for 5 persons only. Have been requesting for 2 hours on call and it’s an 1 hr drive for me but still they are simply rejecting. I said I will pay for 5 but give me one person as I don’t want to waste the food. The owner is rude he says he doesn’t care about the persons feelings nor interests. He just won’t listen to any requests. No hospitality at all.

“New owners have taken over, and we tried the Malabar Chicken Biryani — it was absolutely delicious with great flavor. The Pothichoru came with a generous variety of items and was also very good. The sambar stood out as especially tasty. I’d definitely visit again.”

One of the best Kerala food restaurant. my favorite was kappa Biriyany. Porotta and Beef fry was so delicious. The porotta was perfectly flaky and soft .If you’re looking for authentic Kerala food, this place is a must-try. Highly recommend!

I was asked to wait for 1hr and they ruthlessly sent me away saying they dont have containers to pack to-go order for my Vishu Sadhya. Where dis his ears go when I initially asked him for the order. Had a worst experience on a day which my community celebrates as an auspicious day. Never coming back here again.

This place is easy to miss since it's tucked in the corner of large buildings. The customer service is great, food is absolutely fantastic and atmosphere is lovely. Would certainly return to try more items from the menu specially after 5 pm for street food and snacks.

This place is casual like extremely casual and meant to be primarily a takeout place. We got nine parottas, chicken roast and beef fry between the four of us. Service was a little slow around 20 minutes but oh well. The chicken roast stole the show- it was spicy, delectable and so tangy. Their parottas were flaky but a little on the oilier side. Beef fry was a little underdone I'll say but good nonetheless it was spicy and hella flavorful. Solid place for Mallu food and pretty affordable- just know that takeout would be better for here

Been there twice... Their Porottas are nice, crispy and fresh - flip side, they use a bit more oil than what one would expect... Their Beef has got multiple options - the Peri Peri is a bit different, tastes a bit like Beef Jerky with Indian spices... This is definitely a bit hard and chewy, more of an appetizer than something that would go with Parotta... Their Beef Roast is similar to Beef Fry that you get at other places... The Chicken Roast was very nice, something that we will repeat next time we are there... Hopefully, the seating is a bit more welcoming and elevated - it will attract families into the place...

Awesome experience!! I ordered some food from Kerala Express restaurant. It was sooo delicious and mouth melting. In fact it was the best as compared to the other catering that I have ordered from ever. The traditional Kerala food like Butter milk, Coconut chutney, Pickle, Beef, Fish curry, Fish fry, literally everything are way beyond words. I can assure you that there were no additives or color that was added to the food. I was able to taste the real authentic flavor in each dish. That was one among the main reasons why everyone enjoy it the most.. Good luck! Way to go!!

I went to this place today for first time. I got Biriyani Chicken and for me, it was super good, little spicy, very good taste. The gentleman in there was friendly and attentive. I surely will try more of the dishes soon. Nice to find good food near home. Note1: This is not a sit down place, it is a take out place, just in case you wondered. Note2: Seems like food is mostly available in weekends. I suggest you to call in advance to confirm they will be open and they will have the dishes that you want

Amazing kerala food, this is one place I stop by for that authentic taste. Excellent service, fresh, on time and also the added feature of delivery.

The food and service were great!! I am a vegetarian so really appreciated the vegetarian options which were amazing!!
