The Best Restaurants In The Mueller Neighborhood In Austin

"Mueller’s Kerbey Lane Cafe might not have all of the charm of its original location in a refurbished house on Kerbey Lane, but it does have most of the menu. Come for the pancakes, and stay for the signature Kerbey Queso—it’s arguably among the best in town. And if you manage to grab a coveted Sunday morning table, you can walk off some of those fluffy syrup-covered carbs at the farmers market right across the street. " - nicolai mccrary, raphael brion

Austin Diner Chain Kerbey Lane Opens Eighth Location in Mueller - Eater Austin

"Austin’s favorite diner chain Kerbey Lane Cafe opens its next restaurant up in Mueller at 2200 Aldrich Street as of today, Friday, December 7. The latest Kerbey Lane, the eighth one, is known for its diner menu, full of pancakes, breakfast dishes, sandwiches, queso, late-night dining, and more. The cafe chain shook things up in the kitchen earlier this spring by hiring executive chef Joe Anguiano, who had formerly been with shuttered South Lamar restaurant Vox Table. The space was designed by Richard Weiss (Weiss Architecture), who had worked on previous Kerbey Lanes, as well as interior design by Kris Swift (Future Design Now). The restaurant includes a bar, pet-friendly outdoor lounge, and chef’s table. The Mueller address was selected because residents staged what they referred to as an 'eat-in' at the original Kerbey Lane location in 2013, because they wanted a Kerbey Lane in their neighborhood. Kerbey Lane Cafe opened in 1980 by founders Patricia Atkinson and David Ayer. Their son, Mason Mayer, is currently the chief executive officer. Alas, the Mueller hours aren’t 24/7 like most of the other locations. It’s open from 6:30 a.m. to midnight Sunday through Friday, and from 6:30 a.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday." - Nadia Chaudhury

Former Vox Table Chef Revamps Kerbey Lane Cafe’s Menu - Eater Austin

"Longtime Austin diner chain Kerbey Lane Cafe has a new executive chef with Joe Anguiano, who was the founding chef of now-shuttered Lamar Union restaurant Vox Table. He will oversee the current seven locations of Kerbey’s kitchens, as well as develop its seasonal menus. Anguiano will debut his new Kerbey menu on Thursday, May 24. The summer spread includes dishes like salmon burgers, smoked salmon Benedict with potato latkes, fried green tomato BLT slider, gazpacho salad, and chicken and pancakes served with a maple-jalapeno sauce. The mostly all-hours diner chain is also partnering with local sweets spot Amy’s Ice Cream for its desserts menu. This includes a take on queso dubbed “ice cream queso,” which means Mexican vanilla ice cream, Zilker Mint (it’s supposed to serve as the “guacamole,” pico de gallo made of kiwi, whipped cream, and shortbread “chips.” This specific dish will be available at the restaurants starting on Monday, May 14. Elsewhere, there are snickerdoodle ice cream sandwiches and fudge brownie sundaes. Kerbey is also opening its eighth restaurant up in Mueller, and the long-awaited West Braker Lane one is still in the works." - Nadia Chaudhury

I cannot get over the Nabil’s Mideast Feat salad! It’s my favorite thing at Kerbey and maybe my favorite salad ever. I find myself talking about it a lot, which is weird, to talk about a salad to people. But that’s just how much I love it. Also this location of Kirby Lane always has very kind staff, and the atmosphere is just beautiful. Downside is you might have to pay for parking but it’s not very expensive.

My husband and I absolutely love it here!! We are newer to the Austin area and go here now at least every other week! Great food for a good price, soooo many good options with breakfast and lunch/dinner options and the staff are all super friendly consistently! Enjoy our pictures 😊

Google
We decided to finally pay this location a visit. We were seated quickly. Pleasant atmosphere. Our waitress was nice but not very attentive. The food was pretty good. I enjoyed my burger. It was fresh, juicy, and flavorful. Parking looks like it would be a nightmare during the weekday early hours. I think you have to pay.

Delicious breakfast served all day. I recommend the French Toast platter. This location has a very clean and open atmosphere with lots of windows. Stick to the excellent drip coffee.

Google
I like the French Toast here and usually order that or one of the omelets. I tried their burrata appetizer the last time I went and liked the flavors, but thought it was pricey for what it was - felt a little plain. I like how they have bar seating because otherwise, if I try to go on a Sunday, there's almost always a wait.

Visited 7/27 and parking was easy/free (Sunday afternoon). Major departure from the original Kerbey Lane in terms of atmosphere, but it was refreshing and we liked the openness and space with the large windows. We did have a server issue, but the other staff and management corrected this above and beyond our expectations or requests. My husband and I both agree we have never had the level of attentiveness at a restaurant in two decades. Food: steak frites 10/10; curry salmon 10/10 (I subbed the sweet potatoes for Brussels). This salmon curry was easily one of the best I’ve ever had! Seared on tandoori, beautiful yellow curry with a little kick. Brussels were crispy-tender and paired well with curry. Both of my children ate every bite of their food (double cheeseburger and chocolate chip pancake). That…just doesn’t happen. After a long day of moving, we appreciated every aspect of this experience so much more. Thank you!

Google
Ok place was packed so we thought it must be good., started with a cold coffee. The we were seated outside after requesting an inside table. Waited for what seems like forever for the drink orders. The the 2 tables that were seated after us were served their food the our food comes out and my eggs Benedict comes out overcooked.. wow just not a good impression

Google
I have eaten here twice before once for dinner and then for breakfast. Both times were very nice with service. Excellent menu; has a variety of options. For children, they shared crayons with coloring paper when we entered, which kept them very entertained. Food came out very fast and tasted really good. Very close to Central Mueller -downtown Austin. I would recommend coming here either with family or friends. Street parking available as well as parking garage.

Yelp
I've loved Kerbey's food since I was a kid, so to have one in Mueller is exciting! The location is great. The location is clean and shiny new! And the food is as good as ever! If you never eaten at Kerbey, then you'll need to try their famous pancakes, Paris Texas platter, and Kerbey queso - not in that order. They also now have cashew queso, which is nice for all of us who have had to stop eating dairy. You can get that Kerbey style meaning they put guacamole and pico in it. Perfection. FYI, there is garage parking attached to their building for which they will validate. So there are better options than the street parking that you pay for. Since I'm on crutches, I was a little disappointed that there was no handicap parking out front, but I didn't know about the garage. There's probably some in there. The service was great. Got my food quickly and the server was so kind to bring it out to my car (because of the hip not working right now). I plan on being a regular.

Yelp
Kerbey is usually now my default if other places are closed and I need to find something filling. As sad as that is, it's a fact. It can be hit or miss mostly. The pancakes are usually pretty good. They could be way better. It depends on the cooks and manager. I took my friend before she had to drive back to her hometown. There's many options and fun during holidays since they change it up and add special pancakes then. Sadly, this was embarrassing. We waited a while for someone to come to the front as they all walked around like sleepy zombies. They saw us and kept walking. Finally, a girl shows up, asks how many will be dining and walks off with her tablet not saying a word. Do we follow her? No? We didn't know what was happening. She finally comes back, grabs menus and says nothing. I guess she wanted us to follow. We sit and a waitress comes by immediately. Nothing special. She wasn't rude either. She just didn't care like the other girl. We ordered and she walked off. She went back to the bar where she began stuffing her face while looking at her phone. She'd get back up to walk past the two other tables in our area and then come back and ask if we needed anything. We got our food but it was getting close to cold. The enchilada sauce had been sitting out long enough to look dried up. My friend's burger was nearly cold. Fries too. We had asked for teas and then my friend asked to change hers to a soda. She was double charged for that even though both are unlimited refills. That's never happened to me at Kerbey. I had also ordered a single blueberry pancake. Extremely dry. Looked that way and tasted old. What happened? They used to be fluffy and now they're more like a graham cracker. The waitress went back to eating again. She gave us the check and disappeared. We needed to split the check but the QR code site doesn't allow you to separate or split. You have to ask the waitress to help you but good luck if they are done with you. I'm definitely not taking anyone to this location if at all any location. Parking is also a pain if it's busy so good luck. There's better places. At least it was clean until someone brought their dog in who looked to be ready to take a dump inside after he peed on the porch.

Yelp
Swung by Mueller's Fall Fest and decided to return to Kerbey Lane for their Crispy Chicken Benedict with a side of fries. Definitely tasted as good as I remembered- the sauce wasn't too spicy and had a tiny bit of a kick. Only unfortunate thing was that I bit into some egg shells. It was incredibly busy from what I could see. There was a 25-30 min wait for 2 and we got seated at the bar. There was still glasses from the previously seated patrons. Definitely enjoyed the food, little disappointed about the egg shells but totally understandable. Was too stuffed to try out items from their dessert menu but that just gives another reason to come back!

Yelp
One of the best Kerbey Lane locations. With the caveat that parking can be frustrating. Street parking for a couple bucks is available right in front, which makes it one of the only locations with paid parking--but it's Mueller, so what can you do about that? If you haven't been to a Kerbey Lane before, they're basically the Austin take on a diner. Traditional diner food, along with some Texas flair like queso on top of your meals. The pancakes are always a solid pick but I got the crispy chicken Benedict today. And I have to say, I've never had them overcook or undercook an egg when you ask for it a specific way. Kerbey Lane never really blows me away but it is always consistently good and I'll always come back.

Yelp
Wasn't super impressed with brunch here. We came on a Sunday morning, and there's always a lot of people waiting so we had higher hopes. Luckily we didn't wait long, but unfortunately service was slow and the food was so-so. We ordered our eggs sunny side up, but it came cooked over-easy instead. The eggs were also very greasy (literally a pool of oil at the bottom), and the portion of bacon and sausage was a disappointment. The pancake and the French toast were good, but very sweet and difficult to finish because of how dense it was. Overall it seems like a standard diner/brunch spot, nothing to write home about though. Perhaps we should have ordered different dishes, but given the simple breakfast orders we got the quality is not there and I think it's overpriced for what you get.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I stopped by after the Farmers Market next door and I was taken back with how beautiful this location is! Our server was super sweet and took time to explain the menu to me. I have dietary restrictions so it was super helpful! We loved how fresh our breakfast tasted and look forward to coming back. :)

Yelp
This place is absolutely amazing. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Luke at the counter was helpful with questions I had. He then seated us and asked if we had a preference. We didn't have to wait very long for seating even though it's a Saturday. Very clean and comfortable temperature for dining. Not too loud. The food was amazing Our server Enola was very attentive and friendly. I had an issue with a third party app Scott the manager came over and assisted me without hesitation. I'm super happy with this restaurant.

Yelp
We came on a Saturday morning for brunch. Had to wait like 30 minutes for a table. Our waitress was very busy, she was running around like crazy. We got our order pretty fast though. My tortillas never came with my migas but I was still charged for them. The migas were good, very filling.
google avatar

Shveta M.

Yelp
We grabbed two seats at the chef's counter since they were open and first come first serve. Ordered chilaquiles, breakfast plate, single beignet pancake and a couple of coffees. Staff were hustling and I thought they were well-staffed. Food was delish as always! I've been going to KL since the late 90's and it's truly nostalgic for me. Our waiter was nowhere to be found for a while and it took probably 20 minutes after we were done to get our check - only because I asked for it. That was way too long to be sitting there clearly done with our meal. Don't think that's a reasonable time to wait to be acknowledged and to get our check. Guess I would just say that while they were pretty well staffed, our waiter wasn't attentive. All in all, good meal and ambiance though!

Yelp
Best service we've ever had here, but it was probably because it was 8 am and empty. Food was delicious except French toast was burnt on the under side and we couldn't eat much. Wish we could've gotten a refund on that but couldn't

Yelp
On this lovely Sunday morning, I got to explore a little bit more of Austin. Just right outside of Kerbey they had a farmers market going on & it was amazing. We originally had to get on the waitlist for Kerbey so we were able to kill time. You do have the option to sit inside or outside but the weather was amazing that day so we decided for the outside lunch. Our waiter was honestly the best. If not mistaken his name was Drew. Great energy, super helpful because I was unsure of what to get. For our food we started off with Queso & Chips. Standard nothing to crazy. Also jumped in for their Brussels sprouts, boy were they delicious. Now onto entree's, I started with the Green Chile Mac. It was paired with fried chicken strips cooked to perfection. The mac itself wasn't anything epic. It was more of a basic mac along with some green chile. Nothing horrible definitely expected more. I was indecisive so I ended up trying their chili with cornbread. Must admit, not a huge fan. Bland, just needed more seasonings. Cornbread was just typical. Moving forward the chicken fried chicken lacked seasonings too. It definitely had a good crunch to it. My friend who is vegetarian had a veggie taco, with a side of potatoes, and pancakes. I did sneak a bite of her pancakes, super sweet but good!

Yelp
While I'm already a fan of Kerbey, I hadn't been to the Mueller location before. I expected parking hassles, but to my surprise, I found a spot right out front! As always, the food was excellent, which is par for the course at Kerbey. What truly impressed me the most was the service staff. They were incredibly swift, exceptionally kind, and made me feel warmly welcomed. The management team also made a few check-ins, which I appreciated. The overall vibe was great too - it's bright and cleaner than most locals. Well done!

Yelp
Food: 4/5 Kerbey Lane Cafe is a staple people pleaser for any group of guests we have coming to Austin. From pancakes, to brunch, to queso, they've really got all the bases covered. The mueller location in particular is the best one. The menu is a bit pricey but certainly has good sized servings. Service: 5/5 I've eaten here alone and with a large party. Both times were equal in quick speed and friendly service. Environment: 5/5 Love the aesthetic of this location over the others and plenty of street parking as well!
google avatar

Yelp
The way to get breakfast here requires signing up for the waiting list before arriving or signing on the waitlist. That said, this location has incredible staff and fast serving times. I chose the Kerbey Lane combo platter with a side of fruit and option chocolate chip pancakes. The coffee was non-stop flowing! Bella was amazing and great took care of us.
google avatar

Eliza J.

Yelp
Food was decent. Service wasn't particularly on point. My pancakes were a little doughy. It's a nice looking spot. I like the vegan breakfast platter. There are better Kerbey Lane locations.
google avatar

Katie G.

Yelp
I'm surprised by the low reviews-I love Kerbey Lane and this location has always been a great experience. Do expect to wait as it's very crowded at peak times, like brunch on weekends. I love how there are so many vegan options-the vegan tacos are so good and very filling. Service is typically speedy & kind. Highly recommend this Austin staple!
google avatar

Zoila N.

Yelp
This is a really nice diner style restaurant with elevated menu items. We had a large group and our table was more than enough seats. My lemon poppy french toast was amazing, never had anything like that. Others at my table enjoyed cornbread, pancakes, the standard eggs. Someone also ordered a salad which was a huge portion for a 1 person meal. I was visiting family but i would recommend this place anytime.
google avatar

Karen L.

Yelp
This is our local breakfast spot near the house. There is typically a wait on the weekends, but if you go earlier it's not too bad. I love the pancakes here. Sometimes I admit, the food is better than other times. But they are fast and all the servers are really great. I've never been for lunch or dinner, but I'll keep coming back when the pancake craving hits.
google avatar

Mahima U.

Yelp
The food is here is always a 100/10, the flavors are great! Staff is fine as well. BUT it is highly disappointing to walk in to this cafe in whatever part of Austin and you will always see so much food and garbage lying on the floor. The floors are sticky, it feels gross! Probably the major reason why I have switched to take outs from here instead of dining in.
google avatar

Calista R.

Yelp
Great food with lots of variety for a pretty good price. It does get pretty busy on the weekends but that's to kinda be expected.
google avatar

Beverly S.

Yelp
We've had Kerbey Lane a few times but this was our first at this location and we were not disappointed at all. Joined the waitlist from the website and when we arrived we were seated within the quoted time frame, the server came out to get our drink orders almost immediately which was a breath of fresh air since they were pretty busy. We each had the breakfast platter, I opted for the cinnamon roll pancakes, she had the buttermilk and neither of us care for pancakes but these were def amongst some of the best I've had in my lifetime. Baby boy had the French toast kids meal which was also very good and plenty of food for any kid.
google avatar

Ivan C.

Yelp
Visited this location recently while traveling on I-35 because it was the location least off the beaten path, and I was pleasantly surprised by its modern vibe compared to other locations I'd been to. It definitely fits in with the look of the surrounding buildings. I didn't see a parking garage nearby, so beware it's paid parking on the street. Huge shoutout to Drew for being such an awesome server! I went for the Denver omelette with a side of sausage and treated myself to a single pumpkin pancake as my second side. The pancake was a tad on the dry side, but with some butter and syrup, it did the trick. All in all, a good experience!
google avatar

Lauren S.

Yelp
Doesn't taste as good as it did when I was a hungover college student, but nothing does. This location offers what you've come to expect from the Austin classic chain, (including the famous queso) though I was a bit surprised how spacious it was. A member of our party suggested we sit outside, and since no other parties were seated outside, I kind of felt like we were an afterthought. The seasonal menus we were offered were still fall themed even though we visited in late winter, which made us laugh. I enjoyed my Cobb salad and my cocktail, and the other members of my party seemed pleased with their orders as well.
google avatar

Carmella M.

Yelp
It was a tasty dish as always I had that always delicious chicken Mediterranean meal loads of cheese chicken and hmm-I a h made to perfection there is hummus and I can not explain how tasty this meal is .
google avatar

Yelp
Great atmosphere and good! The parking is not ideal but the vibe here makes it worth it. Join the waitlist online then check in when you arrive. We're always seated pretty quick.

Yelp
Totally forgot to take a picture of my food (Texas Toast). Butttt: I finally convinced my boyfriend that brunch is the best meal. Kerbey did not disappoint. It was our first time there & we totally splurged. I got their eggs Benedict on a Texas toast, which was way too much for me. I think I just got the wrong thing. The taste was delicious. My boyfriend loved his food (YAY)! Ambiance: very nice! For a Monday morning, this place was packed. But you don't have to yell or get loud to hear one another. Great location. Parking: street (pay) or garage. We opted for street parking, which I think was closer. Coffee: 8/10 - pumpkin spiced latte with oat milk Food: I'll try something different (5/10) but my boyfriend gave it a 10/10. We'll be coming back!
google avatar

Joshua J.

Yelp
This Kerbey Lane location can get packed but it's definitely my favorite. I believe there is only street parking, so don't attempt to park in the Texas Mutual parking garage. The patio is pretty sweet and it has a bar. I haven't experienced bad service, though wait times for seating and food can take a while. The food is great, I love that they do breakfast all day (I recommend the chicken & pancakes with the sauce on the side). My only wish is that they would stay open until midnight.
google avatar

Vineet C.

Yelp
First time visiting this location! We really love our Kerby queso and it's always the first thing that's ordered whenever we go to any location. A must try if you've never had it! I ordered the chicken & pancakes. Was a bit disappointed at the size of the chicken, it really felt like an afterthought on the plate/dish. Usually when you get this combo type at any establishment it's a heaping fried chicken piece atop of pancakes. This was not the case with 4 small and squirly pieces placed on top. I would have been really unhappy if the pancakes weren't so damn good. I won't be ordering this item on the menu again....might just have to stick with pancakes! My son had the French toast and simply loved it. It was a junior order off the kids menu and the portion felt quite big, even for an adult. I would order this again for him for sure. Apart from the food, the service was blah. My server was absent for quite some time and I waited 20/25 minutes to get my check and pay. The other tables she had also seemed frustrated and got their own side plates from the kitchen. Might've been an off day for this particular person and I wasn't in a rush so no big deal but be warned!

Yelp
I've been a Kerby Lane Lover since arriving in Austin too many years ago. Happy to have this one close by. No longer 24 hours (so little is anymore), but the food is as good as it's always been. Nabil's salad is one of the best salads in town. The breakfast selections are vast. Great queso (especially if you load it up). Service has always been excellent and friendly.

Yelp
* 3.5/5 stars * I've heard many great things about Kerbey Lane (most around throwback memories) so was very excited to check it out. We shared a Cowboy Queso with Veggie Chorizo, and a Vegan Breakfast Platter. I also requested half-side of bacon and a side of sausage. Cowboy Queso - quite good. I do prefer thicker queso with heavier flavor though. In addition, the veggie chorizo was too soft (not chewy enough) to my liking. Vegan Breakfast Platter - decent. The pancake was absolutely amazing - firm and fluffy at the same time! Not sure how they achieved that. Both the tofu scramble and the veggie patties were mediocre, almost disappointing - lacking both flavor and texture. Bacon and sausage - not bad, but also nothing special. Service was very good. This location offers a casual and relaxing ambience. It's definitely an ideal place to hang out with friends and share some diner food. I wouldn't come here to solve any cravings though.

Yelp
Always forget about Kerbey Lane, one of the few Austin staples. Love this location AND so does everyone else. Went on a Sunday around 1:30 with pancakes and eggs on my mind!! Lo and behold the icon Kerbey Lane!! To the rescue. If you don't mind sitting at the bar, the bar is always first come first serve which meant me and my son could sit at the bar with fast friendly service. Which was perfect for us. This location is right across from the Farmers' Market which was about to close. I live for the Farmers' Market. The day was dreary with small showers in the air. We parked at the Alamo parking Garage and walked about a block. Traffic-wise, it's not too bad, just mind the cars. Our waitperson was helpful and most importantly they have dairy-free Queso! High marks on that one AND higher because the Vegan Queso was delish. Yummy!!! There are various options to choose from, I recommend Kerbey Lane Cafe.

Yelp
I'm not always sure what constitutes good service but I definitely didn't get it tonight @ Kerbey Lane - Mueller. So let me recount this evening's meal. It was 9-ish and I arrived a little late but I was none the less excited about having some of KL's wonderful classic queso & tasty chips. That is where my "good" meal plans after a long day at work ended. First, the restaurant was not crowded for a Monday night, so I'll blame short staffing on the length of time it took for the waitress to take my order. Second, the waitress (expressionless and going through the motions) asked what I wanted to order without offering me a menu, as if I had it memorized. Third, after my food arrived I had to ask my table mates for silverware and a napkin. And the final straw for me was my order, Migas. I have attached a picture of the egg dish I usually enjoy. Please note my emphasis on the EGG part of my entree. On my migas plate (1/3 rice, 1/3 black beans & 1/3 migas) I would guess I received less than 1 full egg mixed into the pile of tortilla chips. I know eggs are expensive but I do expect more eggs in my migas. I am a native Austinite and have been dining at Kerbey Lane for a great deal of my 52 years. But experiences like tonight will not keep me coming back.

Yelp
I've always been a fan of Kerbey Lane...so I'm glad this wasn't my first experience. We stopped by this location for an early dinner with a group of 9. They sat us quickly and we were off to a good start. When the waitress took our drink order, they were out of most alcoholic options, or ingredients that went in them. The waitress took the drink order for 6 ppl in our party and then walked away. We thought maybe it was a simple mistake, but unfortunately this kind of mishap kept happening throughout the evening. The service was just not ok. For the most part, the food was good. I wouldn't get the chicken enchiladas again, but the kerbey queso was good! I'll still be visiting KL cafes, just maybe not this location again due to the service we received.

Yelp
I've been with Kerbey 16 years, and I'll be the first to tell you that you NEVER get sick of the food! Kerbey has fed me and my family for so long and while I might be biased my 3 yr old isn't! For him it's the chocolate chip cinnamon swirl pancake EVERYDAY and for me it's the Crispy Chicken Benedict! With poached eggs covered in hollandaise (and a green chili sauce!) sitting on crispy battered chicken and a biscuit, it's just the perfect mix of a classic breakfast that I'd probably never spend the time prepping for myself at home! If you come by to visit ask for me (Scott!), because I'd love to say hi!

Yelp
Always got to wait on a weekend unless you get there bright and early, but with a view of the farmers market and a nice post brunch walk available nearby, would definitely recommend coming. Let's face it: if you're at Kerbey, you should be here to eat breakfast foods. Their pancakes are the best in town and the seasonal ones are amazing. Personally I love the lemon poppy seed ones and they're perfectly fluffy, flavorful and well portioned. The rest of the breakfast items are pretty standard, but jalepeno sausage is a nice item that I don't see everywhere else. But again, just get more pancakes. It's much more of a chain now than a decade ago, but glad to have one of these nearby.

Yelp
The wait might sound very long, but since you can spend that time browsing the farmer's market it's not terrible. We also got called earlier than expected and needed to rush back to the restaurant. The text said that they gave away our table since we didn't go back within 3 minutes, but they actually still had it. Fast and efficient service, the waitress took our order soon after we got seated. I got the Denver omellette which I thought was good. The fruit cup that came with it is probably my favorite part, everything was fresh and sweet. Actually nvm, my favorite part is the price! F those places who charge almost 20 for breakfast plates. Mueller farmer's market is the best farmer's market in town. Kerbey Lane is the cherry on top!

Yelp
My husband and I stopped in for a quick bite to eat after our flight back into Austin. I have been to a Kerbey Lane before but he had not. He was excited since they offered breakfast all day long. Upon entering we were sat down in the booth. The door to the entrance was very breezy due to the high winds in the area at this time. I ended up keeping my jacket on the whole time. Upon looking at the menu I ended up with breakfast tacos. I had inquired about what veggies were available for the tacos and the server was confused. Then he looked at his computer to let me know the options I can pick from since I could have three items per taco. I ended up with chorizo, mushrooms, and avocado and the other had bacon instead of chorizo. The chorizo was a little too greasy for my liking but both breakfast tacos were solid. It would have been nice to see all the available ingredients on the menu so I could make an easier decision. My husband got the Denver omelet and said it was tasty. Overall the food was solid but the service lacked and was slow.

Yelp
Really good breakfast experience here! Avocado toast with an extra egg and a nice pancake on the side...

Yelp
Since Google won't let me leave another review... I'll come here. We went in for brunch today after hitting the farmers market. We went ahead and sat at the bar, where Drew greeted us. Very cute, if Kurt Cobain was young and healthy, and alive. I digress, we started off with delicious fresh squeezed oj mimosas. I couldn't resist and got a spicy Bloody Mary that did not disappoint. We ordered biscuits and gravy, which never disappoint, but let me tell you about.... Chicken & Pancakes! Beignet powdered pancakes and fried chicken. But wait, there's more- buffalo maple syrup! OMG- perfect spicy & sweet- hot honey has nothing on this. Highly recommend. But seriously, Drew was amazing. Super polite and helpful. Didn't miss anything and on top of our needs. I loved his attentiveness and friendly treatment. We truly appreciate the genuine fantastic brunch! Thank you!

Yelp
I was in Austin with my family - our first trip since the pandemic and the first ever trip of the youngest member of the family... who also has a slew of food allergies. We were meeting up with some friends in town and they suggested this location since we had tickets for Thinkery just down the street. The entire area seems to be under some kind of construction. In fact, it's all new. A lot of shops/businesses. We found parking in a garage around the block, which offers free parking with a validated ticket. The place seemed pretty clean and had a comfortable, laid back atmosphere. It was on Wednesday morning at around 10 am. They already had some tables filled and a steady trickle of customers. I'm somewhat familiar with Kerbey Lane from back in my uni days, but my diet has become a little more restrictive so I don't base it on memories since I can't have anything I used to order. I MISS MIGAS. I digress. We're all no allium vegetarians, with 2 members of the party who have food allergies on top of that. Littlest one (19 months) is allergic to wheat, peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, avocado, and kiwi, which we informed our waiter at the time of ordering. I got the same thing one of our friends got - BISCUITS AND GRAVY. HOW we can have biscuits and gravy that I don't make myself, I don't know, but I got it. No regrets! Delicious, buttery biscuits with white gravy. Yum! OATMEAL COMBO with gluten free toast - in hopes of the littlest one eating some. He didn't. He was teething again. Tasted pretty good! MAC-N-CHEESE (KIDS) with a side of fruit for the picky 5 year old who prefers boxed Annie's Mac and cheese. Strange tastebuds. She did eat a few spoons of the Mac and one grape. Neither kid was into the cantaloupe/honey dew that was included. I ate the leftovers later and that Mac is DELICIOUS. You don't have to be a kid to order from the kid's menu... I think I know what I'm getting for myself next time! GLUTEN-FREE PANCAKES (it's me just one but it's a HUGE) as another option for the Littlest. Again, it was a no go for him. We were pretty full by then so most of that was taken home. Not bad. A little on the grainy side, like most GF foods, but with some butter and syrup, it's easily overlooked. Well, I finally let the Littlest nibble on a pea-sized piece of the pancake when we got home and he had an allergic reaction that required an EpiPen! I messaged Kerbey Lane who asked for my contact information so the manager of this location could contact me directly with answers, just so I knew what caused it. Scott called me within 25 minutes and was very transparent, saying he often preferred speaking to customers with food allergies. They have vegan pancakes and GF pancakes BUT no vegan, GF pancakes. Their gluten-free pancakes contain eggs. He said he would talk to the staff that were working that day to ensure it wouldn't happen again. Overall, a decent experience and great customer service in lieu of the mistake in regards to food being served to those with food allergies. Eating out always has a slight possibility of cross contamination, etc. Hopefully, the staff will be better trained for future visits. Originally 3 stars but bumped up to 4 for the prompt responsiveness from management.

Yelp
I was told this was amazing, so I was really excited to visit. It's tucked away in an office complex environment and must cater to the businesses around, although they were busy later in the day. I still found a seat easily and quickly at a booth, which was nice. It's fairly large, and the staff is attentive. I chose their migas and french toast combo, which was more queso and chips than egg. It was good overall, but it was just not rave worthy. I'm tempted to do a Migas run of all the restaurants offering this to see the variety and then decide which one I think is the best. But not for today. Today, I'll just post another review here and call it a day.

Yelp
Service is awful at this location.. we frequent this one the most, since we are often in the area and like the food. However, every single time, the service is not good (definitely been over 10 times). Obviously we keep coming back though!!

Yelp
I think everyone is stoned at this location? Lol I know they're busy, but people just seemed to be messy and dropping the ball a lot. We waited over 45 minutes for our table which is understandable at Sunday brunch, but then it took forevvvver to get water and beverages, and another 45 mins to receive our food. They considered sitting us inside when I specified the patio bc we had two dogs. They didn't fully prep our table, my mom's latte was bitter and foam was spilling over the sides of the cup, and there were a few other confusing communication issues. It's ok, I still like Kerbey Lane, but I'm a prior Austiner in from out of town and will try to avoid this particular location in the future. ;)

Yelp
Definitely the newest/most modern/nicest interior of the 3 locations in north central Austin. Kids eat free on Tuesday is a plus. Service is good. Food is pretty standard diner fare.

Yelp
A classic diner turned hipster. I've been here twice and love it. Food is good service too.

Yelp
On our trip to Austin this past weekend we decided to do breakfast at Kerbey Lane before taking Junior over to Thinkery. Thanks to the ample street parking in this neighborhood (free on Sunday's - bonus!) we were able to hop out in between the two spots and be about a 3 minute walk away from each. On our way over we added our names to the waitlist via google. It was less than 5 minutes to be seated but by the time we left it was getting packed in there so depending on when you go it may be a good idea to get a leg up this way. Started with a cold & super tasty nitro cold brew. For breakfast I went with the Paris Texas platter, a combo of their migas alongside their french toast. Migas was extremely good, had it topped with their green chile sour cream and added in some cholula + serrano hot sauces, hit all the flavor notes I hoped for. Unfortunately the french toast was a fail, thin and incredibly dry. I was considering asking for pancakes instead of the french toast but decided to give it a go and it wound up being a mistake. Nonetheless the migas was good enough that I'd go back again. Kudos for super friendly and accommodating service, reasonable prices and mostly good grub. Will likely be back on our next visit to Austin.

Yelp
The restaurant is in a great location for a brunch. We stopped in and we ordered a chorizo taco, raspberry lemonade pancake stack, Denver omelette, and chilaquiles. We all liked our food and gave all of it a 7.5 out of ten or higher. However, the service left something to be desired. My friend ordered the gluten free French toast and was given normal toast. The manager came over and apologized for the mistake and said she was going to have someone also fill up our water. No one came to fill our water and throughout the whole meal our water was never filled up. The food was good but the service was not great. I would probably come back but I'm not sure.
