Very cool, the red rock contrasting with the green water was truly a sight to see. Took us less than 1hr total and due to the free parking and low cost entry (600isk) it was definitely worth the stop.

The parking is free but you need to buy a ticket (600ISK). There's a food track on the parking lot though not a lot of benches to eat. The full circle around the crater will take you about 20 min. You can go down to the water as well. Drones are not allowed. The place is colorful and interesting but too overcrowded.

Visiting Kerið Crater near Selfoss in Iceland rewards you with vivid turquoise water nestled in a striking red volcanic caldera formed ~3,000 years ago. Scenic rim walks, jet‑blue views, peaceful nature. Definitely worth the visit anytime.

Beautiful, colorful crater with stunning turquoise water - the images speak for themselves. Fun, windy walk around the edge of the crater with an amazing downward view. You can walk down to the inner 'lake' of the crater for a close-up view of the artistic hues of the water. Mountains in the back and pretty grasslands around.

This is the only crater of all the ones I visited in Iceland that they charge to visit: 4 euros
You can walk around the top and then down to the lagoon.
The place is beautiful and with an incredible contrast of colors.

Nice view, absolutely worth a stop if you're exploring the Golden Circle. It's a short and easy walk around the rim, and you can also go down to the water's edge. well maintained and not too crowded. Highly recommended for nature lovers and anyone who enjoys scenic views with minimal hiking required!

Close off the road and embark on a beautiful hike around the rim. You can also explore another trail that leads down to the bottom. Restrooms and ample parking are conveniently located nearby. This place is definitely worth checking out. It only took us about 40 minutes to complete the hike.

Beautiful red rock, gravel and sand... we walked the entire rim then walked down to the lake level. No charge for parking but there is a 600kr perperson fee.
