Google
I know this place is always one of the top rated Key Lime pies in Key West. It ended up being my second favorite (tried 5 during the week). The pie was thicker (less creamy) than the others, but had a really nice lime flavor. I thought the piece was small, and while the shop had a lot of different key lime snacks and souvenirs, it felt a little over commercialized with just grabbing a pre-cut piece from a refrigerated case and checking out at a counter. It wasn't busy when we were there, but you could imagine days with large lines waiting to grab their piece of pie and go find a seat in the dining area. As I mentioned, the shop was cute, and there was a large indoor/outdoor seating area for when it's busy.

After finishing an exciting snorkeling trip, my wife and I headed straight to Kermit’s Key Lime Shoppe, and what we experienced there was nothing short of unforgettable. To our surprise and delight, we were greeted outside by the original Mr. Kermit himself, dressed in full signature attire. He took the time to personally welcome us and share the incredible story behind the shop—how he opened it more than 30 years ago, how it began as a small local idea, and how it has since grown into eight additional locations while still preserving its original charm. Hearing the story directly from the founder made the experience feel personal and meaningful, not touristy or rushed. Mr. Kermit also shared fascinating details about the history of the building and the town, explaining what the space once was before his shop existed and how everything came together over time. It was clear that this place is deeply rooted in the community and built with intention, creativity, and pride. Once inside, we were helped by Ms. Traci, who provided truly outstanding customer service. She was warm, attentive, and incredibly thoughtful, especially since many of our purchases were intended as gifts for family and friends back home. She made sure everything was carefully wrapped exactly the way we wanted and took great care to ensure nothing would be damaged during travel. That level of attention and kindness really stood out. The ambiance inside the shop is absolutely charming. Every wall is decorated with vibrant colors, playful prints, and signature designs that reflect the fun, joyful personality of the brand. The space feels cozy, cheerful, and completely unique—small in size but full of character and personality. And of course, the treats speak for themselves. If you’re in this area, this is easily some of the best Key lime pie and cookies you will find. Everything feels fresh, well-made, and crafted with care. Combined with the upbeat, welcoming atmosphere, it’s the kind of place that instantly puts you in a good mood. This was more than just a quick stop—it was a memorable experience filled with great stories, incredible hospitality, and delicious treats. If you’re visiting Key West, Kermit’s Key Lime Shoppe is an absolute must-see. We are so glad we stopped and will definitely be back.

Google
Kermit’s Key Lime Pie Shop on Elizabeth Street is a fantastic stop in Key West. The key lime pie is delicious and refreshing, and they also have unique treats like lemon cookies that are worth trying. What makes it even better is the variety of samples available so you can taste before you buy. They even had a little snack for our dog, which was such a nice touch. A fun and welcoming spot to enjoy local flavors.

Google
This was definitely one of the best key lime pie I've tried out of all the keys, but I will say, it's better in the store than buying a whole pie and taking it home. The crust gets almost soggy when its frozen. The prices for everything were pretty reasonable, expect for the pie. Way overpriced, especially for soggy crust. Just need some work on how to keep the crust and it would be worth it because the filling is delicious.

Google
The key lime pie was 100% worth the trip and the hype! Perfectly tart, creamy, and absolutely delicious—this is exactly what authentic Key West key lime pie should taste like. If you’re in Key West, stopping at Kermit’s isn’t optional—it’s a must. I’d come back just for the pie! 🥧🍋🌴

Google
Highly recommend and not just for the pie! Lots of Key Lime treats! Cookies, nuts, crackers, jelly beans... with free samples. It's hard to choose a favorite Key Lime Pie but theirs with coconut is mine :)

Google
Nice stop for key lime pie and specialty items. The shop features a large selection of lime-themed gifts and a pleasant outdoor courtyard.

Google
Such a charming little shop! I finally got to try the famous Key Lime Pie here after doing a lot of research, it was my very first time having one in Key West. The pie was incredibly fresh, soft, and so delicious that it practically melted in my mouth. I loved it so much that I finished the whole thing in just four minutes!

Yelp
This location of Kermit's is located in the Historic Seaport area of Key West. It is a large corner location. It boasts a gift shop with a variety of key lime pie assorted gifts to purchase. Everything around you is Key Lime colored! We were brought here while on a Key West Food and Cultural Walking Tour. When we arrived, Kermit himself was standing outside displaying a pie and greeting customers. He was very friendly and was happily posing for photos. We had a slice of the key like pie and a chocolate dipped Key Lime Bar. They were both very good! We sat in the covered outside seating area which was clean and comfortable.
google avatar

Yelp
So many samples of so many different key lime flavoured goodies inside! I found the pie a little tart but definitely worth a visit!
google avatar

Ellie N.

Yelp
When in Key West, must try key lime pie, that's why we did it. The shop is super cute. They have tons of cookie samples. The pie and the ice cream are both good.
google avatar

lynn e.

Yelp
Samples were a good thing . sample cookies good. Not my favorite Key Lime Pie (6th out of 6 places tried). Go to Blue Heaven or Moondog. Cool location and building.
google avatar

Mahima U.

Yelp
full justice to it's lovely reputation - literally one of the cutest dessert shop I have visited, the lovely hues of key lime in every corner, key lime wallpapers, and ofcourse THE key lime pie, it is delicious. I tried the original and the strawberry flavor, very nice for a try! A little more on the sweeter side for me as I don't do extreme sweetness in desserts, but overall I will certainly recommend you to try it when in Key West. Friendly staff and quick service, enough seating indoor & outdoor

Yelp
Key West somehow means Key Lime Pie. Maybe it started here, maybe not. Either way, Kermit's seems to be the number one place to grab one if you are in the area. Sure you can come in here and get something to consume by yourself. Maybe even get a selfie with Kermit if he is hanging out front. The bonus is, however, if you are traveling, they already have you covered. You can get up to three frozen pies in a travel box. I am not sure how long they would last in the peak of summer, but during more reasonable weather months I know it will be at least eight hours or more.
google avatar

Christy S.

Yelp
This cute little shop is right in the middle of downtown Key West. We were able to sample a couple of the cookies they offer before our purchase. The key lime pie was a good balance of sweet and tart, just like it should be. We also picked up a bottle of Key lime juice to take home, so I will try to make my own. You order at a counter, but there are a few tables available for dine in.
google avatar

Adam H.

Yelp
Love Kermit's and what it means to Key West. There's always time and room for a slice of Kermit's Key Lime pie.
google avatar

Maibel R.

Yelp
Love that they give free samples! So many options for key lime! Knew it was the perfect spot to get our fix with a bunch of people constantly going in. Wasn't disappointed at all! We got the key lime chocolate bar & a slice of regular key lime pie
google avatar

Porsha H.

Yelp
There are two Kermit's shops on the island. This one is the larger of the two and has a nice back patio area. In addition to key lime pie, which is pretty tasty, they have delicious mini cookies. There are a variety of flavors that you can sample before buying (or not buying I suppose as that is not a requirement to try). I ended up purchasing the salted caramel and are kicking myself for only getting one bag. If you are in the area go check them out!
google avatar

Sabrina F.

Yelp
If you're going to go to Key West you just have to have the key lime pie! One of my friends recommended the key lime pie on a stick dipped in chocolate. Extremely sweet but very good - unfortunately there are better options out there for key lime so I was not highly impressed and was hoping for a little more. The shop is cute and located in a great spot. I may be back, but think the customer experience would be better if there were samples available.
google avatar

Kathleen D.

Yelp
Kermit's is a popular regional chain with a wide variety of key lime products. I wasn't super impressed with the key lime sugar cookie and the key lime pie that I purchased while there. I was surprised by that since I usually love key lime flavored things. I actually gave away both items after a few unsatisfactory bites. People seemed to like the frozen chocolate-covered key lime pies, and they definitely looked intriguing. Maybe I caught them on an off day. I wouldn't be opposed to a return trip if I'm in Key West again in the future.
google avatar

Eric B.

Yelp
Best Key Lime Pie I have ever had! Great staff and great customer service! Next time you're in Key West, Kermit's needs to be a must! You will not be disappointed

Yelp
My family and I recently visited Key West Florida during our cruise. While visiting Key West we stopped at Kermit's Key Lime Pie Shop located at 200 Elizabeth Street. My family and I were greeted by friendly staff who were eager to tell us about all the products they offer. Of course Kermits is known for their key lime pie that you can purchase a whole pie or a piece but they also have ice cream, key lime pie ice cream pops, mini cookies (in many flavors), huge cookies, flavored nuts, taffy, jelly beans, and other sweet treats for you to purchase. To my surprise they had a cookie bar where anyone could sample their mini cookies for free and we were also able to try some of their flavor nuts and jelly beans with no purchase necessary. My family and I enjoyed the key lime flavor cookies; they also offer birthday cake, the classic chocolate chip cookie, and so many unique flavors. During my visit I did not see a bathroom, but they might have one in the store. In addition, Kermits was spotless with no seeable dirt on the ground, even near the sampling stations. Due to the popularity of the store, Kermits may get crowded at times-no worries-they have an outside sitting area with a covering that customers can enjoy their sweet treats they purchase. Parking is limited in the back of the shop, but there are meteor parking spots if one is choosing to drive. If you are in the area, I would recommend walking to save time with the hassle of finding a parking spot. If you are in the Key West Florida area, I recommend stopping by Kermit's Key Lime Pie Shop. The next time I am in Key West I will be stopping by Kermit's Key Lime Pie Shop and purchasing some of their delicious sweet treats.

Yelp
The service was quick and helpful. There are samples of a lot of items however some were out when we went. Would have loved to sample some of the things they didn't ran out of samples on. The line moves quickly and everything we had was really tasty. I wish I could pack more home with me. The pie size is maybe on the smaller end. Perfect for me personally, but I know some places might do larger. The shop has lots of items to choose from and is a cute shop.
google avatar

David B.

Yelp
While in Key West, you gotta have some key lime pie, and Kermit's was recommended by a good friend. The shop is clean and cheery, and has a good location. I ordered a slice of the pie and ate in their outdoor dining area. Service was fast in spot of the line of customers. I think a lot of locals get pie here too. The pie was delicious, creamy, tart, with a nice crust. So I guess I'd recommend trying here as I was happy with my slice of key lime heaven.
google avatar

Ben H.

Yelp
A great key lime spot with a handful of unique/fun flavors to choose from. If you don't know already key limes are significantly more tart than regular limes and these pies don't try to mask this tartness at all. It is still a delicious experience but if you're not into that try the other flavors like blueberry or strawberry. The store is very nicely airconditioned so we really took our time choosing what we wanted lol.... you can easily miss their backyard so definitely don't forget to check outside around the back. It has a really nice pond with hanging plants and fish everywhere so hang out and enjoy! Highly recommend a stop here if you're just visiting and want to give key limes a try. Food: 8/10 Atmosphere: 9/10 Service: 7/10 Value: 7/10
google avatar

Kit G.

Yelp
Still good key lime pie and other items. But the special beautiful seating area with the water and fish is gone. We always took our key west visitors there. Now this storefront is no longer special. Just usual or less.
google avatar

Lisa M.

Yelp
Was recommended to try the key lime pie... it was delicious! Also had the key lime cookies. We actually stopped by again before leaving key west. Don't miss out on Kermit's!
google avatar

Gayl B.

Yelp
So, there were eight of us and we opted for the whole pie. Service was great as the cashier lent us one of those pie cutters, as long as we gave it back. Which we did. I would have preferred my pie to be colder. It did have a great taste though. Loved the shop.
google avatar

Dede T.

Yelp
I've never had key lime pie. I tried a bite and it's not my thing. My other family members who are pie lovers also really liked the key lime pie. They said it was good. This review is really for the Almond cookies we purchased. Delicious. The bag did not make it home. I would highly recommend if you're in town. Service & Ambiance: The cashier on a busy New Year's Day was kind and gracious. There was a small line but the got in and out. I like the set-up in the store that allowed for a variety of treats for those that are not pie lovers like me. Thank you for the kind hospitality.
google avatar

Laura G.

Yelp
Looking for the best key lime pie in key west? We found it at Kermit's Key Lime Pie shop. Best item is chocolate covered frozen key lime on a stick nestled close to the marina and about 10 min walk from the cruise port stop. A must eat in Key West.
google avatar

Jennifer L.

Yelp
Cute place to grab a slice of key lime pie! They also have samples of other snacks which are also really good and I think I might opt for those over the pie next time! The pie is pretty good, slightly more on the lime-y side than sweet and I wish there was meringue but overall a good treat! The strawberry one is also yummy.
google avatar

Chris P.

Yelp
Great Keylime pie and definitely worth going to see. Their cookies are incredible as well. The store was clean and bright with lots Of things to look at and taste. The staff was really nice and all seemed very happy. They definitely made us feel welcome. Will definitely stop by again on our next trip to the keys.
google avatar

Nia G.

Yelp
Great pie, ice cream , white chocolate & cookies- sample them all! Perfect location to grab a snack before or after dinner on the wharf.

Candace H.

Yelp
Stopped in for pie to charge us ip for more walking. Cute store front pleasant staff. Popular. Like the Key Lime pie.
google avatar

Katie M.

Yelp
A local told me 'Don't bother trying to find the best key lime pie spot in key west because they are all amazing but if you want to try, look no further than Kermit's.' I'm glad I listened because Kermit's does it right!! It's the perfect balance of tart and sweet with a nice graham cracker crust and fresh whipped cream. For those who want to try a different take on key lime pie, they also serve it frozen on a stick covered in chocolate! My recommendation is to get both so you can decide how you like it. Either way you won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Kelly C.

Yelp
Overall 4.5 Stars Went to the Cafe section for breakfast and we had wonderful filling meal. The Cafe section is connected to the original store front where you can get many Key Lime products but we wanted the COFFEE and Breakfast. 5 Stars - Service - the employees were very friendly, positive disposition and patient when we ordered our food and coffee. The food were served within 10 minutes. 4 Stars - Ambiance - one small table inside and a few tables outside. More of a intimate garden patio with a Koi pond and lush plants. It can get hot if the wind is not blowing at peak temperature. 5 Stars - Food - Coffee was delicious and strong. Ordered Cappuccino and a Colada (two shot of espresso with whipped sugar bases) it will get your heart going. The food was 2 eggs, home fries, bacon, bread and fruit. (You can choose your type of meat, home fries or 2 pancakes, and style of eggs. The eggs, home fries and bacon were perfectly cooked. Moist, crunchy and hot! 4 Stars - Price - Breakfast @ $12.95 per plate. Definitely will come back.
google avatar

Anna L.

Yelp
So here's my thing, everything in the store was sooooo tasty and delicious, highly recommend the little biscuit snacks, except unfortunately their key lime pie was very far down on my list, was not my favorite by any means, although every bite had a burst of key lime, it wasn't any better than one I would have bought at a Publix or Italian grocery store's bakery... I'm so sad to say that because the store is immaculate, staff was super friendly, ice cream and other things were delicious, pie was 2/5!
google avatar

Tony B.

Yelp
PIE, ICE-CREAM AND COOKIES are sold in the shop next to a small restaurant. Along with a variety of Key West chochkies. I did not try anything in the restaurant section but did avail myself of a slice of their classic Key Lime pie and a scoop of coconut ice cream. There is no table service, as you order at the counter and take your purchase to a table. You can sit outside by the koi pond or find a spot in the sun or take it to go! They also, have samples of the many types of cookies they make that you can try. I liked the chocolate chip as they were light and crispy. The pie was better than I expected and the ice cream was also delicious. They also ship, so feel free to look them up online and order your own slice or even a whole pie. https://www.keylimeshop.com/ Excelsior! .

Yelp
When you're in Key West, you have to stop by Kermit's. The bright green shop will make you smile with its decor and Key and there are plenty of sample stations. The line wasn't too busy when we finally headed towards the cashiers. I had a slice of pie while my daughter enjoyed the ice cream though we did share. Everything tasted bright and tart.

C L.

Yelp
A very clean shop that has the best strawberry key lime pie! Cool AC with self served water. Super clean restroom. Lots of samples and all delicious!
google avatar

Tina C.

Yelp
Amazing pies tried the original and the coconut key lime. Both were amazing! Great customer service. This shop stays busy. They give samples of the key lime sugar cookies. They're delicious too

Patricia C.

Yelp
Delicious. Staff wasn't so friendly, they seemed like they were t having the best of days. Nice and clean place.
google avatar

Moni K.

Yelp
I liked this location because the shop is specious, well designed for traffic, clean and organized and they have variety of delicious treats. I love their key lime chocolate ice cream bars they have the perfect balance between the tart and sweet filling encapsulated in a chocolate shell. There is just nothing better on a hot day than a key lime chocolate bar.

A M.

Yelp
The key lime pie is good but has a strange crust. It's not graham cracker at all. I thought it tasted good, but I wasn't blown away. I was blown away by the amazing taste of the key lime cooler cookies. They provide free samples for all cookies, so I highly recommend this place. Best key lime cooler cookies, hands down!
google avatar

Courtnay B.

Yelp
Grabbed a key lime pie slice to-go here. It was good, but wouldn't make a list of "the best" for me. It's like a Publix key lime pie with a better crust. The best part of the pie was the whipped cream.

Alex T.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this place. The choc covered key lime pie tops any other one I've had. All of the free samples are awesome. Will be back!!
google avatar

Twelvepaws P.

Yelp
Rude and aggressive staff . after spending $80 on key lime piesand coffees when I asked for milk the nasty woman told me it was behind me . However there was no milk and when I asked her again she shouted , WE DONT SERVE MILK ALL COFFEE is sold Black ??! ! have you ever heard of this? Then she lied and said that she informed me when I ordered . LIAR . prices have gone up ,portion are much smaller . try somewhere else.
google avatar

Mike M.

Yelp
So I had the chocolate dipped key lime pie on a stick. It was so good. I would definitely get one again. Of course the place has a lot of other key lime options but I just wanted the chocolate key lime on a stick. If you are looking for something key lime to take home you should check this place out.

Neil K.

Yelp
Very subtle taste. Not too sweet. Kind of pricey at $6 a slice. Had a little bit of trouble communicating with the staff.
google avatar

Bea S.

Yelp
It's a cute little store with friendly service. The key lime pie slice was $5 and change on 11/24/24. Sweet and tart with a nice graham cracker crust. We went to town on all the samples and bought ourselves the almond shortbread cookies and the key lime cooler cookies. The smaller bag was about $9 and change, the bigger bags were twice that so not inexpensive but great little treats.
google avatar

Robert L.

Yelp
Best key lime pie we had all week. Tried a new place each day. This was the best we had all week
google avatar

Melissa C.

Yelp
This was my first time trying key lime pie and it did not disappoint. It was the perfect balance between sweet, citrus, and tart. The one slice I got cost $6.40 which was a little expensive but still worth the try if you're in key west! The shop was cute and sold a lot of other things besides the pies. They had a variety of samples in jars so you could try a bunch of things too. They had an outside seating area in the back with plenty of benches and table. I went at night so there weren't many other customers so the check out line moved quickly.
google avatar

Ginger V.

Yelp
The pie was very good. The service was awful. There was no shaded place (or inside place) to sit and eat your pie.
google avatar

Mahsa T.

Yelp
I've had enough key lime pies in my lifetime to be able to confidently say that this was the best key lime pie I've ever had in my life anywhere in the world. Taste buds blown! The crust is amazing. The filling is light and with real lime flavor and just the right balance of sweet and tart. They say key lime pie was invented here in Key West, so there you go folks. Make sure you grab a slice or a whole pie when you're in town. Cute storefront. Friendly service. Enough said. Mic drop.
google avatar

ShaNele F.

Yelp
Yall!!! I have NEVER had keylime pie that tasted so freaking good!! We stumbled across this place while doing a digital scavenger hunt and it was amazing! The line was long but went fast, the colors complimented the concept and they had such a variety of options! Cookies, pie, ice cream, dog treats, samples, and Vibes!! I highly recommend this as a must stop in Key West!
google avatar

Kayla Z.

Yelp
Loved the variety of options in the store-from blueberry key lime to original and even strawberry. We settled on the regular and it was fresh and full of flavor. The store also had some other sweet treats which they allowed samples of.
google avatar

Leslie C.

Yelp
If you want to try the best key lime pie in the world. This is it. Your search is finally over! I simply love the smooth, sweet and sour taste of this pie. The friendliness of the staff, the key lime pie merchandise, and the garden are just out of this world. They have a garden with a pond outside that has beautiful koi fishes. This is a must visit!
