Kettlemans Bagel

Unexpectedly, these bagels shop truly impressed me, i am doubting to claim this maybe slightly better than I had in Winnipeg’s which I love much too. The crispy crunchy & moisture flour with strong individual spices aroma flavor carried out the taste. Freshness & juicy Philly cheesesteak given me very good appetite perhaps I had chosen the garlic bagel. Bought additional bundle, everything, garlic, pumpernickel, poppyseed, cinnamon raisin; etc. Staff services were excellent too.

We grabbed lunch at the Bank Street Kettlemans Bagel location after skating on the canal today. There was a fantastic "4 Can Dine For $34.99 on Family Day" deal where we got 2 bagel sandwiches (Vegetarian on Everything, BLT on Everything), 2 value menu items (Egg sandwhich on Garlic, cream cheese on Dill), 4 tater puffs, and 4 drinks (coffee or fountain drink). It's pretty hard to find that value these days in Ottawa, so we appreciate it Kettlemans! The food was delicious as well. An Ottawa institution 💪

So my current favourite sandwich is the Oven Roast Chicken, I’ve added a pic, but it’s like absolutely freaking delicious, as are all the other sandwiches. The location in the glebe so it’s busy and sometimes loud, but SO WORTH IT OMG. I’ve been coming here for about 12 years now, first with family members and then with friends. Staff are SO so nice, always polite, and they seem to have so much fun while staying professional. Like 12 flavours, a gluten free option (that TASTES GOOD YALL), and LIKE 5 DAIRY FREE OPTIONS. They also have many meat types if you don’t like pork or anything. Genuinely in my top 3 places to eat in Ottawa, and I explore a LOT lmao. :3 Edit: the poutine isn’t stereotypical fries but it’s so good with the puffs, and I have seen like kids got NUTS over it

Delicious delicious delicious! We had a smoked meat bagel sandwich and a Cubano sandwich. Tater tots are a fun side. Bagels were perfect and the meat and sauce added to the experience. Service was quick and friendly. We chose to dine in and while the I door patio with large windows was cool, several tables were a bit dirty with crumbs or sauce. That didn't stop us from devouring our sandwiches. We'll be back for breakfast when we leave Ottawa.

Been wanting to check this place out for a while. Didn’t disappoint. It was packed but the employees were pretty fast and efficient so it didn’t take long. Beautiful place to have a bagel in the morning. Wood oven bagels with fresh toppings. You can even buy bagels by itself for home. I got 2 turkey bagels for $26 including tax. I’ll definitely be back.

Strolling astound Ottawa. Came across Kettlemans. The place was packed but everything moved along quickly. The staff was super efficient and friendly. The atmosphere was was great. The food was delicious. Worth checking out if you are in the area.

We're not usually in this part of town, but stopped by this Kettlemans Bagel on Bank Street before an Ottawa Charge game a couple of weeks ago. I had a Turkey on GF Combo (delicious). My husband had a Smoked Meat on Pumpernickel Combo (also delicious). The combos each came with a drink and Tater Puffs (which seemed to be gluten-friendly, but I have not been able to confirm this with my research). The service was friendly. The eating area is separate in an enclosed and heated outdoor area with lots of tables. Overall, a really good experience and would definitely return if in the area again.

You can always count on a great breakfast bagel here. The place is open 24hrs, the selection of bagels is huge, the service is great and the staff are friendly. There are a few vegetarian options but I suggest the hot sauce on the western for some kick with a garlic bagel.

Haven't been here in years since the last time my sister took me here as a local. I would used to say it's the best bagel place I've ever been to. This includes Montreal, New York, Vancouver, SF and etc. However, this time I was somewhat disappointed. The bagel was slightly thinner than it used to be (thus less chewy) and the bottom of my everything bagel was somewhat burnt. Maybe the stove? Oven? wasn't cleaned properly? Don't get me wrong, it's still a decent bagel with salmon and cream cheese (without expectation). The cashier was super friendly and nice though, and I do like their pager system. The bagel itself is around $14 (tax included). It's not cheap, so I was expecting more. And I walked 40 minutes just to get myself one. One word. Disappointed.

Kettlemans bagel is about half as good as it used to be. The prices have gone up, and the menu has expanded but the quality has gone down. It was fantastic as a one-off location and its not as good now that it has multiple locations. Neither bagels, nor service is good, its a mediocre fast food choice. This used to be a quite a special bagel shop, now its not even the best one in town.

Just went in for a coffee (Sunday, February 9/25). Had their coffee before and enjoyed it very much. Again this time, really enjoyed it, much better than many coffee shops around. Anyway, I could not find any signage indicating coffee pricing or sizing. I asked the cashier for this information and he responded very curtly and without patience. I would say he was rather rude. He said there had just normal coffee, nothing special like cappuccinos, etc. I had to drag out of him the prices and sizes. Even for sizing, he said they had small and large, offering no indication of ounces in each or any attempt to simply show me the two cup sizes. Why don't they have the prices posted and the sizes on display? I went into the sit-down area to enjoy my coffee but stayed only a minute or so, as it was unbearably hot and humid in there.

I've probably had every sandwich and every type of cream cheese and can't get enough. The ingredients are fresh and you feel satisfied every time! Menu is a bit pricey though. Kettlemans is an Ottawa establishment and for a good reason.

Omg please do yourself a favour and get rid of your statement "montreal style" bagels.. what an embarrassment ... They don't even come close to MTL BAGELS! Kettlemans bagels are chewy and fluffy .. maybe New york bagels .. not mtl.. As you bite into a real MONTREAL BAGEL it has that crispy crunch outside and fluffy chewy inside .. Not a fan of kettleman's im sorry ! :/ you're very far from comparing yourself to Montreal's ... the texture is bland and my onion bagel was burnt beyond belief ... i also got sesame bagel ughhh had to throw it out unfortunately.. Service: meh it was ok.. lots of people a huge line up if only people knew where to get the real deal! I was hopeful that it would be as good as fairmont or st viateur I guess that hope is gone for good LOL OVERALL, waste of money and time don't think I'll be back here

This is the original Kettleman's location. They have since opened up a few other locations in Ottawa and even expanded to the GTA (Etobicoke). I heard there was talk about them expanding to Montreal, which I personally think is like selling potatoes to PEI, but hey, I'm not an entrepreneur. Kettleman's sells Montreal-style bagels. St-Viateur Bagel will always have my heart in this department, but Kettleman's will do if I can't go to Montreal and want my bagel fix (you know, like right now, in the middle of this dreadful Covid-19 Pandemic). I know the Montreal versus New York style bagels is a never-ending debate, but I am Montreal-style bagels all the way (although I see the appeal of the longer shelf-life of New York-style bagels as day-old Montreal-style bagels might as well go in the compost, but day-old New York-style bagels are still edible). Anyway, I like the dense and chewy bagels at Kettleman's. I like their different flavours too. The herb and cheddar one is my favourite savoury flavour and the blueberry is my favourite sweet flavour. They are open 24/7/365 and it smells so good in there, lol. This location has parking on-site, but the lot is small and almost always full and it's a pain to get in and out of because it's right on Bank Street, which is a pretty busy street.

I would say this is definitely the best bagels in Ottawa, but compared to Montreal bagels, unfortunately I don't find they measure up. They are pricier than Montreal bagels and the texture isn't quite right in my opinion. Service is usually quick which is nice but could occasionally be friendly. Parking can also be a challenge in their parking lot but there is usually quite a bit of street parking available. All that said, probably the best option we have for the moment and will satisfy a bagel craving

This review is about the Etobicoke location, at the plaza at Evans and Brown's Line. Delicious bagels - chewy, moist, flavourful, with a bit of crunch on the outside. Also plenty of varieties of cream cheese and options for bagel accompaniments. Walk into this place and it smells tantalizing! Great that they are open 24/7. It's fun to see the bagels going in and out of the firepit(?) on the long paddles, but the place will never have the charm of the old Montreal bagelries. It's just too new and has more of an assembly-line feel in the way it's set up. The only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is the check-out experience: the cash stations are narrow, there's no place to put your bag down when you're at the cash, and the payment machines are awkward for short people to reach. But hey - I will be back for more amazing bagels!

Open 24 hours, so you know you can always get a bagel. There are at least a dozen different kinds. You can buy big containers of cream, cheese, and lots of other items like pickles and drinks. The sandwiches are great. What an awesome place. Sometimes I get a dozen bagels and a big tub of cream cheese and I sit at a table and eat until I'm full and I take the rest home. I have arranged to meet up with actresses in models there to interview them for my podcast, which is fun. And one of the staff members even turned down the music on the patio, so it didn't interfere with my video. they also have a loyalty program, so you can save up points to buy more food.

It's a good thing I live in the Toronto area or else I'd be having bagels for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! I was in the Ottawa region and found this location pretty close by, so I thought I'd give them a try. The bagels were amazing! I got my order and they were still warm and there's nothing like biting into a warm, freshly-made bagel! Slightly crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside. I bought a dozen and they didn't last two days. And I love that you can see them from the counter working the oven. I'll include a picture but it adds a lot to the whole experience to see the bagels come out of the oven. If you're in the area, I highly, HIGHLY recommend Kettleman's!

Yummm - fantastic bagel shop in Toronto. Similar to what you'd find if you head out east to QC. Tons of different options available, nicely toasted and generous toppings. Cherry on top is the place is open 24/7, which makes for a late night snack after a party, or your perfect breakfast.

I always make a trip to Kettleman's whenever I pass by Ottawa; it's always been my favourite. The last time I came was 3 years ago and it has changed a bit in quality! :( Every time, I order the smoked meat sandwich on a sesame bagel for here. This time, the sandwich wasn't as I remembered. Disappointingly, my bagel wasn't even warm or toasted and I don't remember if the smoked meat always tasted like ham? My boyfriend's breakfast bagel was much more crunchy and toasty than mine and I was so jealous! The blueberry cheese pastry was okay, soft and flaky. Nice to have gotten a few extra bagels to my dozen (or maybe they counted wrong). Besides having my bagel not toasted, the biggest disappointment was the service. Standing at cash, it felt like I was at a McDonalds instead of a homey local business--felt more like "what's your order?", blankly staring at you waiting for you to order instead of a friendly welcome to any questions you may have. Cashier seemed bored and didn't even seem apologetic that they ran out of blueberry or chocolate bagels. My review has dropped from a 5 to a 3. Maybe I'll come back again, but I think I'll check out some other food place next time I'm in Ottawa.

This is a dangerous place to go into when you're counting the calories! You're not likely to come out empty handed ;-) The bagels are being baked in the shop and the whole neighbourhood smells good - way before you even get into the shop! Kettleman's provides everything you would need for breakfast or lunch, over and above a marvellous variety of tasty bagels, including smoked salmon (lox), pickled fish, deserts, and hot and cold beverages. Their coffee is good! They do a brisk business, so be prepared for lineups.

What's not to love about Kettleman's bagels? It's not only their bagels but the cream cheese there. It is fabulous. And the only cream cheese that I'll eat. I love picking up a bag of hot bagels and walking home. Usually there's at least one of them missing out of the bag by the time I get home. The renovations, they did a few years ago on the Bank Street, Location created nice space including outside tables, which is nice in summer. When I was a kid, my grandparents place was just up the street from the Fairmont bagel bakery. I never thought I find a replacement for that. But Kettleman's does the job.

Definitely over rated and over priced for what you get. I've been there twice and both times I was not satisfied at all. Will not return.

Great place and food. The patio is pretty to sit in the summer. I have no idea how they have make a simple breakfest sandwich so delicious. It taste way better than ones I make at home even with fresh indigridents will definitely go back in the future.

Food was OK if you park there you can't Stay to eat. They threaten to ticket you if you stay. Just take your food and leave immediately.

My friend bought me here as he heard it was famous in Ottawa. While the bagel tasted pretty good, it came with a hefty price. They do offer a large variety of bagels to choose from. I think it's a good casual spot to grab a quick bite you can eat on the go, or just to grab some basic goods/ bakery items. I'm not sure I would come back though a second time.

Visited 2 locations in Ottawa More I visit Ottawa, more I like/find (imagine that!) Kettlemans is coming to Etobicoke/Toronto soon; can't wait (near my house), the breakfast bagel was excellent, so was the turkey. Montreal style/quality bagels (sesame seeds favourite).

I love love love this place & go there every time when in Ottawa !! The best bagels I've ever had and lots of options to order from. I know Montreal is suppose to be the best place to get bagels but there's so much great food there that I never think of having some there so these are my faves ;0) I had the BLT and others had smoked meat and just plain cream cheese. My first one was so good a had to grab a smoked meat as well! The bagels them selves are great, not too doughy or big. They are freshly wood fire ovened ( I know it's not a real word or the best English lol ) Lots of options to load up your bagel with at this place so I'm sure you'd find one or 2 you'd like. It's a short walk from Lansdowne on Bank street a nice area of Ottawa. Stop in a grab a bagel I'm sure you'll be glad you did!

I got the turkey with garlic bagel. It was good but wish the bagel was a bit softer. I like it toasted, it just seemed to be dried out which is why I gave 4 stars and not 5. I would definitely go again though.

This is a totally crazy place in terms of background yelling and meshugass going on, but the bagels are BANG EN POINTE. Perfect texture. Got that Montreal style bagel exterior with the desired chew of regular bagels. I love Kettlemans. An going to pick up a ton before we drive back, and freeze them when we get home.

We cannot recommend Kettlemans enough! We have to bring anyone who visits us to get some bagels. Our favourite sandwich is the BLT with hot pepper spread on all dressed! Get extra hot pepper spread for home too! Kettlemans is open 24/7 365 days per year, as if that wasn't enough they also have a bagel subscription service! Service is always good, the dine in sections are nice.

Pricey, but oh so good. The perfect choice to make an excellent breakfast sandwich. Ask for fresh sesame when you go.

Kettleman's makes phenomal wood burned bagels. I have tried more than a few flavours and have only disliked one of them. But that is a preference and I'm sure someone else would love it. If you like onion bagels, I'd highly recommend that flavour. They also make sandwiches and more in house, their turkey club is delicious and very filling. They are not cheap with toppings. The place can get busy but they move people through fairly quickly and trust me it is worth the wait!

I love bagels so I was super pumped when I heard there was a nearby establishment that specialized in such 24/7 in the Ottawa core. On a Sunday morning, it wasn't terribly busy and we were able to order quickly and seated ourselves in the well-lit area. The moment you step in, you can see how seriously they take bagels! The massive oven is visible and you can see how many bagels they're producing; the answer is a lot. I ordered the Italian sandwich on a sesame bagel, and I was super happy with the variety of meats and olives that were on the sandwich. My only request was that there be more meat and toppings in the sandwich, as for $10 I was expecting a little bit more, as it was kinda light for lunch. Beyond sandwiches, you can buy bagels by the dozen, which was a great takeaway for breakfasts and snacks later. There's such a large variety of bagels that are all made fresh and well that you can't go wrong! Definitely a must for anyone visiting or residing in Ottawa with a lovefor bagels!

This spot was a last day early breakfast delivery. I am pleased to see they are open 24/7 so could order them real early with the Montreal Smoked meat sandwich for the breakfast and a cream cheese with chives for the the snack on the train ride back. I think these are pretty authentic though I am no expert. Nice sweet finish and texture and size to boot from the originals I have had in Montreal. Give them a try as they are open in this sleepy city 24/7

Great bagels!! I ordered the Montreal smoked meat on an all dressed bagel. It was delish except they ruined it for me with a heavy handed hit of sweet mustard. I like mustard but just not a fan of the sweet stuff. Had a pork and bean soup that was just ok. I hate to be a negative Nancy but Lord, you guys have to improve your music. Listening to repetitive 80s hits is not mood enhancing. Especially when you feel like you're sitting in a garage. Staff were nice and last but not least- they serve great butter tarts!

So glad we stopped here! Their bagels are the perfect balance of chewy and crisp, and the ambiance was fun and casual. Best when warm or toasted. A must if you are in Ottawa.

Was looking for a spot to have a place where we could have a reasonable amount breakfast and perhaps fresh healthy options. Remembering Katelman's place as this was recommended by quite a few folks as the place to go while in Big O. Reached there on the Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend at around 11 am and there was a lineup to buy fresh bagels. The sitting area seemed full as well. People making bagels by the dozens, rolling them, cutting the dough. A site to see!! Ordered a Egg White and Kale on an Everything Bagel (partly because the bagels were coming out of the oven. The bagel was actually picked up to make the sandwich within a minute or coming out of the oven. How much fresher can it get? Also ordered a Herb and Cheddar Bagel with Hot Pepper cream cheese, a Vegetarian Sandwich on a Sesame Bagel (comes with Spiced pickled Eggplant, lettuce, tomatoes, Swiss Cheese and pesto Mayo), a chocolatine, a cheese bun, coffee and milk. The Egg White and Kale were perfectly done. Freshness you could taste in every bite A sure winner. Herb and Cheddar bagel and the hot pepper cream cheese were really good. The cream cheese had good flavour, however the bagel lacked Cheddar cheese, a bit more would have been perfect. The Vegetarian Sandwich had good lettuce, tomatoes and Swiss Cheese. The pesto mayo was not enough and the pickled eggplant had a bite/crunch to it. I like the crunch pickle cukes, however the eggplant crunch did not go well with us. The chocolatine was perfect and the quality of chocolate was good same could. It be said of the cheese bun. The Dark Roast Coffee from Lily's served was amazing. Picked up another six bagels to go, a pretzel and a pumpkin spice bagel. A must visit when you are in Ottawa.

This place never closes... opens 24 hours a day! I love knowing that each bagel is made fresh in house. Great fun place to see how your bagel is created from start to finish. Textures of the bagels are chewy and soft!

First time at Kettleman's thanks to the recommendation of my sister and my friend - since they lived in Ottawa for university. You could tell that this place is popular from all the people coming in and out of this place. It never seems to get empty, and it's open 24/hrs! I got the super house special with cheese - which included Montreal smoked meat, cheese, and hot mustard. The bagel was over toasted - so it was a bit hard. Other than that I loved it. It satisfied my craving for a nice fresh smoked meat sandwich. One thing I do want to note is that I was a bit confused about the ordering process because they didn't tell me where I'd be picking up my order, nor did they call out my order. There were so many employees yet none of them were working the expedite section! I also ordered a dozen bagels - half onion and half garlic and they're still fresh even though I bought it on Sunday!

It's open 24 hours and makes incredible fresh bagels around the clock...what more could you need in life! They have really good sandwich options which you can get with any bagel flavour of your choosing if you're looking for a quick meal or you can buy a huge assortment of different bagel flavours to take home. They do fun themed bagels for some holidays like the Christmas swirl bagels and pumpkin spice, and they have a nice variety of flavoured cream cheeses to go with the bagels, my family's fav is definitely the onion and chive or the vegetable cream cheese

Kettlemen's has the perfect fresh bagels - crispy on the outside and chewy in the middle. We had some breakfast BLT bagels delivered, and couldn't help but also buy some extra plain and everything bagels for later!

+ Montreal Style bagels in Ottawa - Overpriced, they skimp on their sandwiches, and have never gotten good service at the Kanata location. If you're familiar with Fairmount Bakery in Park Ex in Montreal, you'll know exactly what I mean.

HiDefinitely one of the best Montreal style bagels I had. This is an absolute MUST if you pass by Ottawa in any way. Bagels are freshly made, has a nice crunch, and not overly large/dense (but don't be fooled, it is still VERY filling). Perfectly uneven looking for that rustic look. Try it with their deli cream cheese for a classic meal (though they have different varieties of in-house cream cheeses). You can easily buy a few dozen bagels to freeze and reheat at later time, in which it would still taste good. For a sandwich, get the Montreal smoked meat with cheese (The Super House Special with Cheese) bagel. So much awesome in such a small package. For bagels, get any that has sesame seeds on it if you like that extra nutty taste that I do. I got the All Dressed for that extra oomph. Herb and Cheese bagel was also a close second. tl;dr Pretty much you can't go wrong with any bagel at this 24/7 (literally) establishment. Make sure you sign up and download the Kettleman's app for a free 1/2 dozen bagels as other Yelpers mentioned!

-Dope bagels all night long- Came here for that wood fire made bagels. Bonus is that it's 24/7. Ordered a dozen everything bagel and it was still hot. Made the whole car smell like onion and... everything else on the bagel. Also ordered a smoked meat bagel with some liver, cuz I can. Both independently good. Combined? I like it but I wouldn't say it works for most people. Would recommend.

I love decent bagels. Not the huge, cookie-cutter ones that you get at a huge grocery store. Montreal-style ones are my favourite ones. Well, I went to Montreal in April and won't be back for a bit. However, when in Ottawa, Kettleman's Bagels is like being at a Montreal bagel place! Parking can be difficult. The lot is small and packed. I ended up paying for parking a hop away, by the Beer Store. There was quite the lineup when I walked in. There are a ton of different cream cheese flavours. There are also vegan cream cheeses, which benefits lactose-intolerant folks, too. The bagels smell fantastic! My mouth was watering as I stood in the line, contemplating what to get. You can order a variety of sandwiches and baked goods. I went with ordered a dozen onion bagels and a chocolate puff to go. They are incredibly yummy! When I'm in Ottawa again, I'll definitely be back. This store only accepts cash, so remember to have some on you. Otherwise, use the ATM that is conveniently there.

Definitely the best bagels (at the Bank street location where it's being baked non stop) that also happen to be almost exactly like Montreal bagels! I need to do a side by side comparison but it's pretty close. Not only are the bagels amazing, the Bank location also has a wide selection of other interesting products such as smoked salmon, cream cheeses in different flavours, various European style pastries and other things like potato latkes, etc. The recent renos transformed the outdoor patio into a part of the interior. Like a solarium. It's nice to have space to sit down and have a bagel sandwich and a coffee. Now, all they need is beer!

The bagels are really good (and I'm a Montrealer for many years and still am at heart, so I know bagels, people) - BUT the service is a joke. Who is the manager here?! Whoever it is, is not paying attention. It was a complete shitshow of too many cooks in the kitchen and no organization, so you wait longer than you should for very basic fare. Also, hello, it is almost 2020 and we're in the midst of a climate crisis and plastic pollution problem and they are still handing out bagels in plastic clamshell containers?!?!?!? Use a small PAPER BAG, for the love of...!!!! All that said, the Kettleman's Special is a good choice if you're a bagel lox lover.

Big fan of Kettleman's Bagels in Ottawa and this location is wonderful. The bagels are cooked in a wood-fire oven and always come out with a perfect texture and flavour. I love them so much that we buy them in bulk and freeze them for later, but they are best when fresh. If we are stopping for lunch I will usually order the Bagel BLT or club - both are awesome. They have made a lot of changes including a new waiting system, which makes everything more efficient. Thankfully with all the changes, the bagels are still amazing and all the different toppings are still available in abundance. I think I'm going to have a bagel now...

A staple visit. Tremendous tasting bagel worth every penny! I just got a basic everything bagel with butter, and it made me wanting more. So fresh, so delicious. Staff was also very friendly even when super busy!

Yum! This place is amazing! No trip to Montreal would ever be complete without a stop at a certain famous bakery for some Montreal bagels. I personally think Kettleman's are the best I've ever ever tried and they're in Ottawa. This is a super cool bakery. Super modern but also has an old-timey charm to it. Bagels are made by hand, the old fashioned way, as well as a number of other baked goods, right in front of your eyes. Customers can enjoy watching bakers rolls the bagels and see the whole process right at the front of the store which is really cool. We bought a few dozen bagels and some deli cream cheese and some of the smoked salmon cream cheese. We also bought a couple potato pancakes. The bagels are really fantastic. They're soft, and chewy, with a hint of sweetness. They don't fall apart as much as other Montreal bagels I've had in the past and they're generously loaded with seeds. They have a number of different flavours for the adventurous types but I stuck to the sesame seed variety. The cream cheese was delicious, I particularly enjoyed the smoked salmon flavour, it had little chunks of smoked salmon in it which was amazing. The potato pancake was also pretty good and good value at $1 something! Service was good and quick, I just picked up some bagels so I'm not sure about table service. Places like this make me wish I lived nearer to Ottawa but I'll make a point to come here next time I'm around!

If you're in Ottawa and haven't been to Kettleman's, I feel bad for you son. I've got 99 problems but a bagel ain't one! All jokes aside, KBC has been a local favourite for...FOREVER now. Ever since their doors have opened, they have not close (literally) since they are 24/7!!! One of my close friends and girlfriend introduced me to KBC and every time I'm in town I grab myself a breakfast bagel on sesame! Their breakfast bagel includes egg, cheese and a generous amount of bacon in between a fresh bagel from the oven. Their breakfast bagel is like no other along with their sesame seed bagels. Their sesame seed bagels are so popular that they are shipped out to numerous local retailers to be sold. One cool thing about Kettleman's is that you get to watch them roll and stretch the dough and form the bagels right in front of you before they put into their huge oven with long paddle boards. The only con is that there isn't one in Toronto.... yet

the usual. Long very slow moving lineup with one person taking orders only. I guess all of the catering prep going on in the back is more important than the customers lined up to give Kettlemens their money.

Oh baby! This is where it's at! During the three days we were here in Ottawa! We came here twice for breakfast and thought about coming here at night when we were craving more bagels! I loved the smoked salmon with creme cheese! The tomato in there adds a great combination in one bite, amazing! Get the sesame bagel! Seems like that's the most popular choice and thus usually the freshest! Their sandwiches are awesome too and just a bagel with cream cheese is satisfying all by itself! Party may be hard but we were lucky enough to find one right when a car is leaving. Seems like a small place when you first enter, but we didn't have any trouble both times to find seats for the four of us! I like the beeper so after ordering/paying, we can go straight to finding seats. Fast service, 10 minutes after ordering to get our yummy food. The decor is nice, and "outside" portion that opens up in summer is surprisingly warm in the winter time! I'd go back there in a heartbeat!

Best bagels in town. Need to try them right out the wood burning oven. Mmm Delicious.
