Khao Bird

I booked online in advance and arrived here one Friday lunchtime a little earlier than planned. No problem. Iain (the owner?) directed me towards a small table overlooking the partly open plan kitchen out the back. Not knowing the food so well here I requested expert help in selecting the best dishes. Again, no problem. I went for the chilli margarita (nice and spicy), the crispy pigs ears, raw beef larb, Khao Soi with extra brisket and plenty of tap water. All was delicious even if I had real hot lips by the end of the meal. The food comes as it's ready. At the end the bill came with an automatic plus 12,5% restaurant charge. In total I left just under 60 pounds for the whole northern Thai experience. By the way, the cramped toilets are down a flight of stairs and on the first floor there used to be an adult themed cinema as you might expect in Soho. Nowadays the hot atmosphere is restricted to the spicy based food here :-)

I love the fan-fried sea bass with flavoured sauce. We also ordered beef in black bean sauce and marinated pork. The food was delicious. Recommended for those going into the Soho area in London.

I was very underwhelmed by the food here. The service was friendly, helpful and great. I found the restaurant to be a bit grungy tbh. The floor was greasy and dirty. I ordered the meatballs. The people on the table next to me ordered 7 dishes and shared tastes with me. They were underwhelmed too. The meatballs were black and l mean really burnt black underneath l was told this was from the cola when paying my bill. Great so it’s a cola burn how cool doesn’t look or taste great though sorry. The lettuce on the larb there were 2 types, the iceberg was washed and fine. The other was sandy and gritty so not washed properly. They said it was the roasted sticky rice powder. l love Khao Khua however this did not taste like RSR powder to me sorry. Kiln down the road had a queue outside all night this place didn’t just saying….

Absolutely incredible food and atmosphere. The Khao Soi beef Brisket was beyond incredible especially the sauce. Leo and Sarah were lovely despite our millions of questions about the sauces and the cocktails. Amazing place will be back soon, highly recommend unlike other soho places very unique

Excellent thai food in a casual setting. Definitely worth trying if you're in Soho! Coconut grass jelly tea was excellent!

Unique Thai Restaurant in Soho offering dishes you won’t find anywhere else in London. The Tea Leaf salad was super interesting and yummy. Mutton Fries are banging. The Tofu was totally different to any other Tofu i’ve tried. Staff were very friendly.

Good vibes and spicy food. Make sure you get the onglet steak with white curry, best dish hands down. If you liked som saa and speed boat bar, get to this place!

Came here for dinner and had a really good time. Cameron took care of us and was awesome — super nice service. Food was great too. Definitely recommend!
