The 25 Best Restaurants In Berlin - Berlin - The Infatuation

"Usually, when we receive an invitation to a family meal, we instantly start brainstorming elaborate excuses to get out of it. But the concept behind Khao Taan—like being invited to a Thai family dinner—promises homey food without any of the awkward questions about when we’re finally going to settle down. The €45 menu suggestion, with one starter, two mains, and a dessert, is an obvious choice and an easy way to try as many things as possible—from curry scotch egg with crispy sweet basil, to mussel curry with betel leaves, Northern-style Laab, and Phuket-style curry with okra. Sharing is encouraged, so bring your friends, roll up your sleeves, and dig into a feast that has less in common with your average pad Thai than you have with your third cousin once removed." - olivia ladanyi

Fantastic service and absolutely delicious and authentic dishes. We were dining in a group of 6 and therefore had a menu with a huge variety of dishes and perfect portions. Any allergies or concerns regarding the food were taken into consideration. Keep in mind that it can be hot, if you aren't used to spicy food which may need to be adressed prior to ordering. 10/10 recommend this great dining experience.

Great food, nice and friendly atmosphere! This is where I want to bring my family and close friends to give treats. One thing is though, it could be pretty spicy for those who are not a fan of or use to it. We had a Italian white wine together, it went well together with the food❤️

More than just dinner, a whole experience. We went with the fixed price menu, which included 3 plates and dessert per person. All portions are adjusted to the number of people in the table, so that everyone can share and try a little bit of everything. The food itself was delicious, a good mix of flavors and spicy to the right point. The staff is very friendly, they explain each plate when bringing it to the table. When we commented that one sauce was specially good, they recommended other dishes that would match with it and brought more for us to try. Overall, an amazing experience. The place is not fancy and it's a bit expensive. Worth it if there's a special occasion.

This was our second visit to Khao Thaan, and I wanted to write this review as the service was genuinely some of the kindest and most professional my wife and I have experienced in Berlin. We were celebrating my birthday and the team really made it a special evening. And of course the food itself, inventive, full of flavour and perfectly spiced - the braised pork was a highlight. Thanks again to the team. We’ll definitely be coming back for another visit soon.

I booked a table for two, but was unexpectedly joined by two others. The restaurant was busy, but the team graciously accommodated us. I loved the stripped back design of the interior and details like the mixed crockery. Most importantly the food was delicious. Three of us shared the fixed menu, but it meant we could try almost everything on the menu - all of it wonderful. Thanks for a great evening!

What an experience! Everything was absolutely delicious, and I can’t wait to go back and try other dishes. Everything was quite spicy (at a perfect level), so make sure you ask for less spicy recommendations if that’s not your thing.

Quality & Taste: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Price for Value: 💰💰💰💰💰 Those bored by the repetitive usual suspects at every Thai restaurant in Berlin should try Khao Taan. Khao Taan offers an exceptional dining experience with a menu that frequently changes. Unlike the typical Thai restaurant in Berlin, Khao Taan transcends the usual green curry, introducing diners to the rich and diverse flavors of Thailand. Food: The flavors are bold yet balanced, showcasing the complexity and depth of Thai cuisine. The experience feels like eating home-cooked meals, adding a comforting and authentic touch. Dish Highlight: Butternut squash pudding Atmosphere: The staff make you feel genuinely welcome and ensure a pleasant experience without being intrusive.
