"Usually, when we receive an invitation to a family meal, we instantly start brainstorming elaborate excuses to get out of it. But the concept behind Khao Taan—like being invited to a Thai family dinner—promises homey food without any of the awkward questions about when we’re finally going to settle down. The €45 menu suggestion, with one starter, two mains, and a dessert, is an obvious choice and an easy way to try as many things as possible—from curry scotch egg with crispy sweet basil, to mussel curry with betel leaves, Northern-style Laab, and Phuket-style curry with okra.
