The 13 Best Thai Restaurants In Austin

"The regional specialties at Khon Thai are what make this Allandale spot stand out. Pickled and fried pork ribs are crispy, savory, and a bit tart, and the bite-sized ribs make another noteworthy appearance in the fiery kua kling praram, which brings out even more of that rich flavor hiding in the bones. The dining room is spacious, so show up with friends, snag one of the big tables, and grab a few curries to share." - nicolai mccrary

Khon Thai Kitchen By Seeda - Review - Allandale - Austin - The Infatuation

"You can get familiar dishes like green curry, pad thai, and fried rice at Khon Thai in Allandale, but you’ll be missing out on a lot of the regional specialties that make this spot stand out. Pickled and fried pork ribs are crispy, savory, and a bit tart, and the bite-sized ribs make another noteworthy appearance in the fiery kua kling praram, which brings out even more of that rich flavor hiding in the bones. Show up with friends and grab a few curries to share with the table. The dining room is spacious, with larger tables in the back if you want to show up with a big group. photo credit: Richard Casteel photo credit: Richard Casteel photo credit: Richard Casteel photo credit: Richard Casteel photo credit: Richard Casteel" - Nicolai McCrary

The Food was delicious and authentic. I went with my mom and sister during lunch. We are half Thai and this tasted like my Yai’s food when she would cook. We got the fried papaya salad, Tum Taad with Anchovy, chicken Satay, and Thai iced coffee. Everything was beautifully plated. It also didn’t take long to come out. Loved the ambiance of the restaurant as well with the soft lighting, decor, and music. Since it was our first time, we wanted to get things to share to test it out and it did not disappoint. We will definitely be back to order different entrees and appetizers. Our waitress was very nice!

We've been in this strip a number of times and have never gone to this restaurant. I was pretty excited at the opportunity to dine in, glad to say I wasn't disappointed! The decor was very nice and they had a very cozy outdoor patio. Right when we were sat, I was shocked to see that they served sushi. Of course I had to try it. To start we ordered the Spicy Edamame. The sauce was SO good, we practically drank it. After the appetizer, the sushi arrived. We ordered the Fire Cracker Roll. We were pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was. It had a heavy Kewpie sauce on top that really added flavor. For our main entree we ordered, we got the Yellow Curry (a staple at all Thai restaurants) and the Pepper Steak Hot Plate. The curry was so good and such a classic, The coconut milk did not have overwhelming flavor and the vegetables and chicken were cooked to perfection. As for the Pepper Steak Hot Plate, this dish was definitely one of the best Thai dishes I've had. The steak was very juicy and cooked well and the vegetables complimented it perfectly. Overall, I'm very excited to come back and support this local business! Would definitely recommend it for date nights or meeting up with groups!

We came in over the weekend, and we're seated immediately. They had live music and the ladies sounded good(cover songs mostly ?) We started with the shrimp spring rolls. 😋The pad thai and beef ga prao were good, with the right amount of spice, per request. For dessert, we had mango sticky rice. It was good, a bit high in price, though. Overall, it was a good experience.

I had a great experience dining at Khon Thai. The restaurant has a lot of indoor seating, so it’s easy to get comfortable whether you're with a small or large group. My only minor complaint would be the music — it just wasn't quite to my taste (at one point they played "Stayin' Alive" by the Bee Gees), and I found it distracting. That said, if you're with good company, it’s easy enough to tune out. Aside from that, everything else about the restaurant was excellent. The service was very attentive and friendly, especially my server, Vanessa, who was absolutely lovely. The portions here are incredibly generous. Seriously, come hungry or bring friends to share. The crab fried rice was delicious, packed with plenty of crab meat, and so large I was able to make four more meals from the leftovers. The tuna poke appetizer was fresh and flavorful, and I definitely recommend it. The crispy crackers paired with the tuna were a nice touch. The absolute standout for me, though, was the duck. Don’t be intimidated to order it. It came out perfectly cooked with super crispy skin, served with tempura vegetables that were different than the usual Japanese style -- it is a lighter batter. The tempura eggplant, in particular, was creamy and so good. I wasn’t crazy about the sweet sauce that came on the side for the duck, but that’s just personal taste, and the duck honestly didn’t even need it. For dessert, I had the sticky mango rice, which was beautifully presented with a gorgeous blue hue from butterfly pea powder. It was delicious and the mangoes were perfectly ripe and clearly in season. I also sampled the shrimp fried papaya salad, which was unique but not quite my favorite; it was a huge portion, though, and very crispy. It would probably be best to share that dish with a large group as an appetizer. On the other hand, the fresh papaya salad was excellent: super crunchy and flavorful. Overall, Khon Thai is a gem. Huge portions, a large, exciting menu, wonderful service, and fresh, beautifully prepared food. I’m already looking forward to going back to try more of their curries and saucier traditional dishes. If you haven't been, you definitely need to check it out. Get the duck!!!

One of my best places to have Thai food. I have been here more than 4 times now. This time however the service was slow it could be because of the rush hour. The chicken satey was cold. I loved the jasmine aroma tea. The mango and sticky rice is always yumm. Noodles were too good but they need to be careful while cooking the vegetarian noodles in the wok. Should not use the same wok as used for meat and seafood dishes for vegetarian dishes. And coconut cake has always been the highlight of our dine in visits. Overall good food and good live music if you are dining in on the weekend.

Rating: 4.4/5 [dine in] The restaurant is huge and beautifully decorated. After ordering, it took a while for the drinks to arrive, and the food came out together after about 15 minutes. Dragon Fruit Cosmo ($12): A premium sake cocktail infused with dragon fruit, strawberry, and a hint of lime. It was served in a large martini glass with little spikes resembling a dragon fruit, which was a nice touch. The cosmo was just okay for me, but my husband enjoyed it. Thai Iced Green Tea ($5): This is quite different from traditional Thai tea. Made with pandan, vanilla, and mint, it was creamy with a strong pandan flavor, followed by vanilla. I didn’t detect much mint since the other flavors were so prominent. While not bad, I personally prefer regular Thai tea for its bolder flavors. Ga-Pao Crispy Pork Belly ($20): A stir-fry dish with pork belly, basil, a fried egg, and a side of white rice. It’s a bit crazy that they charge an extra $5 for pork belly. The dish itself was pretty basic—the pork belly was flavorful and tasty, but not crispy as advertised. 2 oz Side of Nam Jim Jaew ($2): My husband ordered this for his pork belly, but it wasn’t really necessary since the pork belly was already coated in sauce. Thai Boat Noodles ($17): We got the pork with flat rice noodles, and it was delicious! The flavors were bold and spicy—so much so that our stomachs weren’t happy afterward, but it was worth it! It also comes with a side of bean sprouts and some crispy looking crackers. They provided a generous portion of each ingredient, and we had leftovers.

A Must-Try Thai Gem in Austin! If you’re craving authentic, soul-warming Thai food in Austin, look no further. From the moment you walk in, the aroma of lemongrass, Thai basil, and toasted chilies welcomes you like a warm hug. The pineapple fried rice was a standout! beautifully served, bursting with flavor, and perfectly balanced between sweet and savory. But the true showstopper? The cuttlefish strips. Tender, flavorful, and bathed in a sauce that I can only describe as life-changing. I genuinely wish I had the recipe, it’s hands-down one of the best things I’ve ever tasted in my life. Every bite was addictive, savory, slightly sweet, and packed with umami. I’m still dreaming about it. What really stood out was the attention to detail, from the crisp presentation to the freshness of the herbs. The mango sticky rice dessert was the perfect finale, sweet, silky, and unforgettable. Service was friendly, fast, and knowledgeable, with staff who were genuinely passionate about the food. Whether you’re a Thai food fanatic or trying it for the first time, this place delivers a memorable experience every time.

Amazing thai food here. One of our best and saying this after eating in Thailand several times, as well as learning from cooking classes in Chiang Mai. Very authentic food. Polite staff from the land of smiles. Highly recommended restaurant.

Yelp
Khon Thai Kitchen by Seeda is easily one of my favorite spots in town. The service here is always wonderful; very friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. You never feel rushed, and the staff makes great recommendations if you're unsure what to try. The food is incredible. Every entree I've had has been fresh, beautifully presented, and packed with bold, balanced flavors. You can tell they use high-quality ingredients, and it makes a huge difference. The curries, stir-fries, and noodle dishes are all consistently delicious. One of the best parts is their live local music on weekends. It's such a nice touch to enjoy great food while supporting talented local artists in a cozy, laid-back atmosphere. It turns an already great dinner into a whole experience. Highly recommend if you're looking for a spot with amazing food, warm service, and a little extra something on the weekends.

Yelp
I rarely give 5 stars but when all the dishes tastes great and I will go back and bring others with me, I give it a 5! Plus the waiter was super friendly, attentive, kind and nice. The place is cute and clean. There is an outside patio as well as a closed off banquet area too. Roomy! I like the fake roses on the table lol gives it more of a pretty feel. Hydrangeas real ones were outside :) Ok the food. Phenomenal. My daughter recommended it and actually found this Thai place. She also went with friends to try and they all raved about it. So I had to try. I am not always a huge fan of Thai food but if they all tastes great why not? The wings lol the wings were probably my fave. Hot and fresh and crispy. Get them! Beef rendang was pretty good too. Lots of meat they gave. The noodles were good too! The crab fried rice, one of the best. Brussels sprouts are maybe on the too sweet side but still good. Mussels were tasty. The Tom yum coming in a fire bowl was perfect! The tea was odd. Not bad but murky like mud lol Really enjoyed myself even though it was for a bday lunch for 2 of my friends. So glad my rec was a hit with them all too. Nice waiter asked to take a pic for us and we asked him to take more outside where there is this pretty flower graffiti wall. All in all a good lunch or dinner spot. Will come back. Prices were reasonable. It was $200 for all that food plus tax and tip. I liked how everything tasted different not the same. These days it's hard to find a solid restaurant that won't disappoint in our area. But this was sure a hit! Go try! Located in central Austin.

Yelp
Khon Thai Kitchen is an absolute gem. Hands down the best Thai food we've had in Austin so far. We've tried several spots around the city, but nothing compares to the flavor, quality, and care that goes into the dishes here. We came here for our mid week date night, and even for a Wednesday evening, they had a decent crowd. We started with the spicy edamame, which was good but leaned more sweet than spicy. We were hoping for more heat there. But everything else knocked it out of the park. The yellow curry, which we asked to be made spicier, was phenomenal. It rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced. I feel like they were very generous with the protein in the curry as well. And the pad see ew was incredible! Pad See Ew is our favorite, and this one was super flavorful with perfectly cooked noodles. Plus, the portions are generous, so you definitely get your money's worth. For everything we spent ~$40. The restaurant itself is beautiful inside. Stylish, welcoming, and has a lot of beautiful Thai art and decorations. On top of that, the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. Just a really great atmosphere all around. Highly recommend this place if you're craving Thai food. We'll definitely be coming back! :)

Yelp
I was wanting Thai food and saw this place had solid reviews. I got Kratiem Prick Thai and it was pretty good. I've never had this dish before but I wanted to try something out of my comfort zone. They gave me a lot of rice and the chicken was flavored well. Very stir fry but I'm not sure what the crunchy parts were that was topping the chicken. It's a cute place and the staff were friendly too. I would give it 3.5 stars.

Yelp
I met a friend for lunch here this past Sunday and this may now be one of my go-to Thai spots! It's well located next to an HEB at 2222/Burnet. I remember going to this location when it was another Thai restaurant so I was glad to see it was new with better food! I had the green curry and pad thai. I asked if they could make the pad thai spicy since it usually isn't and they did a great job making it level 2 spicy and the green curry was level 3 and both were very yummy! We shared veggie friend dumplings and my friend had the drunken noodles. Everything was really good. We may have been the first ones there for lunch that day so service was very quick. I look forward to going back and trying more items soon!

Yelp
Came here with a large group for dinner on Valentine's Day and was so blown away by the service and the food. We took up half the space in the private dining room and only had one waiter, but he was as attentive as could be. The food came out quickly and every bite was enjoyable. My personal favorite was the beef panang. It was flavorful without being sweet and the meat itself was so tender. The fried fish was a hit too, especially with the green tangy sauce. The crab fried rice had a generous amount of crab, but the rice was a little mushy. The duck curry and moo ping were all delicious, although I wasn't much of a fan of the pork jowel. We also had the pleasure of hearing live music during our dinner, which was a nice touch. Plenty of parking in the lot, but may need to compete with the HEB shoppers. This place did not disappoint!

Yelp
This restaurant is by far a new Austin favorite of mine! From ambiance, to service, to the food, everything was a 5/5. First and foremost, I want to give a huge thank you to the waitress/hostess Chip. She was so sweet and absolutely amazing in suggestions for food. From the moment we walked through the door we were greeted, able to pick our seat, and provided refreshments. As for the ambiance, the inside is so cute and well maintained. I think I hit the gold on trying this spot because it was on a Saturday night. It turns out Friday and Saturday there is live music starting at 7pm! I was a huge fan of the soft rock soul music and it couldn't have been more perfect. It's fair to say this is a great family, date, friend, or business meeting spot. Now for the food, first up is drinks! Best taste and quality I have ever had. I inquired and learned the Thai tea is fresh, none of the powdered versions. And I must say, I loved it. If you don't want to swing for the teas there is also plenty of sake, which I will have to order the next time. Now let's talk about the pad see ew, what is a better way to put the tastes to the test than a Thai staple! Their pad Thai was exactly what you will be looking for if that's what you desire. Some places can mess up this staple, but this was perfectly done. It's a must, the sauce was well blanched into the noodles and the ratio of chicken to rice noodle to broccoli seemed just right. Last but not least, I heard they were famous for the coconut cake and the taro cake, but from my knowledge taro cake is less popular in Austin. Khon Thai kitchen hit a home run with the taro cake and I have judged many cakes. This delicious delight had chunks of taro in the layers and were topped with more taro. The whipped cream frosting was infused with taro it was almost as if I was drinking a taro boba and it was light and fluffy. The base itself was fluffy and let's just say I want to know if you can order a full size for birthday's. Asking for myself:) Overall, fabulous job to this little gem in Austin, Texas, and the owner should be proud to know they have such wonderful staff with excellent food. If you're craving Thai food, please go here first. It's not the first immediate hit on Yelp, but it should be:)

Yelp
Went to KHON Thai Kitchen by Seeda last night with my friend Elaine--it was so nice catching up with her in such a gorgeous and clean setting. The restaurant has a modern yet cozy ambiance, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. However, towards the end of our meal, they seemed to disappear, and we had to ask a few times before getting our check, which was a little frustrating. Now, onto the food! The appetizers were excellent, and while the entrees were good, they could have used a bit more seasoning that truly complemented the sauces described. That said, I'd definitely come back and try other dishes before making a final call. Here's what we sampled: Sparkling Passion Fruit Drink - My friend Elaine said it was absolutely delicious! Tamarind & Sake Cocktail - I had this one, and it was smooth, slightly tangy, and quite enjoyable. KHON Wings - Crispy, golden-breaded party wings topped with fried onions, served with a flavorful house Sriracha sauce. These were a hit! Shrimp & Chicken Wontons - Light, crispy, and tasty--though I might need a refresher on exactly what was in them! Broccoli Lover with Chicken - A simple stir-fry with fresh broccoli and house sauce. It was good but could have packed more punch in flavor. Sesame Chicken - Breaded and lightly fried chicken breast with broccoli and sesame seeds. Solid, but again, the sauce could have been a bit more pronounced. Price-wise, it's in line with what's expected these days, so no surprises there. Overall, KHON Thai Kitchen by Seeda has a lot of potential, and I'd be open to trying more dishes next time to see how they compare! Would love to hear what others recommend from the menu!

Yelp
A beautiful restaurant located in Alandale. It offers a nice menu with good food. The service is good. What I liked most was the live guitar player. The music was relaxing and not so loud that you could still have a conversation. Bravo to the artist!

Yelp
Hidden Gem in Austin, TX! I went here near Valentine's Day and they had these heart-shaped rice! So cute! This Thai restaurant is decorated nicely and food is delicious! You can't go wrong with any order but I highly recommend the pad see ew and mango sticky rice for dessert!

Yelp
Walked in to a cute little restaurant with nice staff with a quiet atmosphere. Not pictured: Steamed Mussels was one of the specials of the day. Very large portion, very clean, very fresh. Great flavor and size was amazing too! The green sauce that accompanied the mussels was extremely spicy but very very flavorful! We also had a Thai tea to complement our meal, if you are into a sweet milk tea then this is definitely for you! Great add on, if you are not into sugary drinks definitely look into soemthing else. As for the green curry, good amount of spice, not too much but just the right amount! Would order the curry again, but would love to try something new if I were to come back, definitely worth trying if curry is your thing!! For the Pad Thai, I have yet to have a good pad Thai in Austin until now! I loved it! I was really fascinated by the crushed peanuts that came with pad Thai rather than just chopped on the side! I also appreciated that you don't choose a spice level here but rather add your own chili as you go. Loved the flavor, was sweet and spicy and overall a great pad Thai for Sunday!

Yelp
Price was great (I had Pad Thai, Thai Tea, and Coconut Soup) all with shrimp. Food was a 3/4 out of 5. Soup was freshly cooked and shrimp was big (5/5). Matcha Tea was gritty (3 out of 5) switched to Thai Tea (5/5). Pad Thai was a little well done for me but shrimp was excellent. For everything was $36 bucks

Yelp
Ordered Pad Thai, Spring Rolls, Pad See Ew, and Tom Kha Soup. I think the food is great, love the protein amounts and can't comment on service but every time I've picked up food, everyone was very friendly!

Yelp
We came back to Khôn Thai Kotchen by seeda to celebrate galentines and to have dinner. We came on a Monday during dinner rush and were immediately seated. We ordered K4 Chu-Chee Salmon**, mussel red curry, and tofu spring roll. The tofu spring roll came out pretty quick. The peanut sauce was unique in flavor and was super flavorful. It Went well with the spring rolls lack of seasoning. The tofu was thin in the spring rolls and I felt the spring roll amount was a very small proportion for $8 appetizer . It was basically a "shorty" spring roll cut into small bites to fill the plate. Not necessary. After we ate the spring rolls the waiter came out and advised us they ran out of mussels. Note: when we were ordering our food I had asked the waiter there's still mussels available correct? The waiter said yes but a while later came and told us there's no more mussels. I said no problem and ask for the menu to order something else in replacing it and put the order in. Then a while later he returns and tells us they still have mussels... I then ask to cancel the other order and get the mussels instead... I was a bit leery about the mussels and hope they were not sending out dead mussels or frozen ones... Rating for dishes: Mussels red curry: 1/5 some mussels were rubbery. It didn't taste super fresh. I was a bit worried eating them. The red curry sauce was super strong flavor and spicy. This dish needed rice because the sauce is too bold to eat alone. K4 Chu-Chee Salmon**: 4/5 I didn't like how the salmon was overly cooked ans crispy on the meat. I wish it was a fillet instead of chopped up pieces of salmon. I felt the amount of salmon on the dish was very little. There were only 3 thin pieces of salmon and the rest was veggies and sauce. Skimpy For a $20+ entree I expected more. Red curry sauce was good. Tofu spring roll: 1/5: love the peanut sauce but the proportion size is super skimpy for the price of the dish. Also, when we tried to order dessert, we were informed they ran out of all dessert except for the mango sticky rice. Dinner hour barely started.. how was all the dessert gone. This is the second time this has happened so I have a feeling they are not making all the dessert on the menu daily. All tables were not filled and it was relatively slow at the restaurant. Overall experience do I recommend this place? Not sure if i will be back. I do love their curry sauce but the service was lacking and there seems to be a disconnect of communication between back house and front house staff. This dining experience wasn't the best. Don't bank on getting dessert here because they probably will not have the desserts listed except 1 item or if you are lucky Two items.

Yelp
KHON was such an unexpected experience. It has a bit of an Insta-worthy look with great food. The women singing with their electric pianos was certainly unexpected. I don't know if they are a staple on Friday evenings or how busy it was this evening is typical, but it was hopping. There was a party in the side room as well. The servers seemed a little overwhelmed, but they were apologetic and friendly. There's a full bar where they infuse sake. I ordered the Kao Soi Fusion and my husband had the K3 Kua Kling Praram***. My dish (pictured) was so darn good. It was bold and filling with a hint of heat. The sake was on the sweet side, but that worked for me. We will definitely return.

Yelp
We decided to come here around 5:30pm on a Wednesday for dinner. The restaurant is in the same plaza as H‑E‑B and occupies one of the larger spaces. Parking was not an issue. Both front and back lots exist. Arriving inside, although the restaurant was not busy, they did seem a bit short of staff, with one person multitasking: greeting patrons, packing takeout orders, seating guests, taking and placing orders for tables, bringing out food, and cleaning tables. Still, service was very friendly, attentive, and on point. The restaurant itself is quite spacious and has nice design elements within, in various areas of the restaurant. Wi-Fi information is posted at the front of the restaurant. After being seated, it was mentioned that since the sushi bar had recently opened, they were offering a dollar off promotion for everything on the sushi bar menu. Lots of stir-fried dishes on their main menu. My water glass had a weird wet dog smell, but it was tolerable. We decided to order a Pad Kee Moi with pork, and a Kao Soi Fusion with shrimp katsu. We later decided to add on unakyu maki and hamachi nigiri (they were out of hamachi belly). Pad Kee Mao -- some heat, not particularly spicy, but great wok hei on all the ingredients. Plenty of pork and veggies. Would order again. Kao Soi Fusion -- the katsu comes on top of the egg noodles buried underneath in the curry. Comes separately with beans sprouts, pickled veggies, onion, and a lime. Something about those fresh veggies in contrast with the curry makes the curry taste even better. The five pieces of shrimp katsu were enjoyable. The egg noodles were egg noodles, but I thought the curry was best enjoyed with the bean sprouts and red onions. The sushi bar order seemed to take a while to prepare. Both items we ordered were enjoyable. The unakyu maki rolls are tiny, and the eel component was balanced with the right amount of rice, cucumber, and sauce. I was pleasantly satisfied with the hamachi nigiri. For checkout, our waiter showed us the sushi promo discount and also our order showing the itemized prices on a tablet and the subtotal--this step is often skipped for restaurants utilizing non-paper bills--which I appreciated. Conclusion: interior decor and ambiance is quite nice, no matter where in the restaurant you sit. Their stir-fried food has the smokey kiss from the wok hei. Sushi promo for their sushi bar and pretty good sushi. Bathrooms were clean and tidy. Wi-Fi is offered, and their food is quite yummy. I would come to eat here again.

Yelp
This place is really authentic! You can definitely tell that the staff is from Thailand and they love cooking their food and sharing their culture! Everyone is super friendly and very respectful! I got the Kao Soi with tofu which was really delicious! It was a very large portion size and the spice was just right. The tofu katsu was perfectly made it tasted almost like chicken! Worth it! Great food and great vibe!

Yelp
Khon Thai had one of the most tasty and fresh tasting green curries I've ever had! It truly tasted like all the ingredients for the paste were fresh, and it gave the curry an earthy green color instead of the artificial green color that a lot of other places have. We also got a papaya salad which was tasty but VERY spicy. All the dishes were quite spicy even at the medium level or if not listed on the menu as such so watch out for that! There was live music going on at the time we were there which was really fun. The inside area is larger than it looks from the outside, and there is some patio seating as well which is nice. I will say that the decor felt very discordant - there was some Thai statues, some beach-type floral wallpaper in the back, Spanish music being played, brick wallpaper in the bar area, etc - kind of all over the place. Regardless, a cozy place and I look forward to visiting again to try the other curries!

Yelp
I always mean to take a photo of my food to post with a review but it's just too good here to wait that extra moment. Their peanut sauce is amazing and really adds to the already fresh and delicious garden rolls. All the noodle and rice dishes I've tried are wonderful. The last meal I had was the veggie mix with chicken made to be a spicy level 2 (of 4). I am a girl who loves spicy foods and this is the perfect level to feel it but still 100% taste and enjoy the food. Although the parking lot can get crowded, it's worth walking the extra steps if you can't get close. If you enjoy thai - give this spot a try!

Yelp
Khon thai id my favorite thai restaurant in the Austin area!! Their spicy is actually spicy ( i love spicy ) and they certainly satisfy my cravings c: i love their papaya salad - portions are large and it comes with noodles, hardboiled eggs, and sausage (really yummy) and the slow roasted panang beef curry is also so yummy. The pork jowl dish and steak dish is also really yum. Def come by if you want authentic thai food and enjoy spicy food!

Yelp
I really like this place! Pad Thai was good, not great but I loved the massamam curry! They have great lunch specials and a diverse menu. Servers are always great and good atmosphere. Love coming here for lunch.

Yelp
Food was delicious! Portions of the appetizers are great too. Staff is kind and relaxed. The interior is gorgeous! I went on my birthday and it felt special just sitting there. The flavoring is delicious consistently for all the dishes we got!

Yelp
First time at Khon Thai Kitchen and did not leave disappointed!! Everything was so delicious. We had to wait a while when we arrived for someone to seat us, but I think they were just short staffed that day. The food itself was great. Plenty of parking in the open lot, too, which was a nice surprise. I got the chicken pad woonsen and the garden rolls with chicken. Both were 10/10. Portions are sizable, too! Also, I didn't get the chance to take a picture, but the aesthetic inside is amazing! They've got tons of plants all over the place and it creates a great vibe I'll be back for sure! Tons of other stuff on the menu that I want to try.

Yelp
I was nervous to try this spot since I used frequent this location when it was previously Sap's. I am really glad I give this place a shot. The food was delicious. We had the green curry, chicken satay, stir fried chicken and vegetables, brussel sprouts, and pad sew ew. The brussel sprouts were a pretty small portion for $8 but overall it was really good. We also had the mango sticky rice and it tasted great. The food came out pretty fast and the server was friendly.

Yelp
This Thai restaurant exceeded my expectations in so many ways. Good wine options, authentic Thai food, friendly staff, amazing and actually hot side of crushed Thai chili peppers that they were not stingy with, celiac/gluten free knowledgeable, etc etc... I will definitely be returning. Thank you for the amazing service and food! And thank you for caring about us that are actually allergic to gluten!

Yelp
Good flavor and service. This is a large restaurant, i dont think you'd have an issue getting seats. They also have a few outdoor seatings. Food: we orders pad see ew and pad thai. Both are delicious. Wished the pad see ew has a bit more color but overall good flavor.

Yelp
This place is tucked away in the corner of the Allandale shopping center. It is a large space with a bar, booths and tables. They have a good lunch menus d great dinners. Lots of folks order for takeout but the time's we have dined in service has been fast, friendly and the food has been excellent! We love the yellow curry with beef, their chicken fried rice, both the Tom Ka and the spicy soup, Tom yum. We've also ordered the Pad Thai (without tofu) and veggie egg rolls. We have ordered beer and I believe they also have cocktails. I'm so happy this in in our neighborhood. They have a lot of parking spot behind the restaurant if there aren't any in front. Highly recommend if you are craving Thai food!

Yelp
so obsessed with this place. They have amazing ambience and awesome live music during dinner hours. The food is always quality. I love it so much I get their takeout all the time. I especially love their soup but have had lots of other entrees off the menu and it's always been delicious.

Yelp
Though they were a bit slow to seat us, the rest of the service was great! They were very friendly and able to offer us some suggestions to our liking. In general the dishes were tasty but the portions were just about average, not too big but not too small. I loved the flavor of the panaang beef and the pad thai was solid too. However, the pad see ew's noodles were not quite the right texture for me. The tom kha was a bit underwhelming given that it looked cool to eat, but it was just a donut-shaped soup bowl, which makes the portions appear bigger than they actually are. For dessert, the mango sticky rice was pretty good! Nice and warm and topped with gold foil . The restaurant itself was also nice to be at as it has some fun decorations and is quite open. There's plenty of parking in the lot outside. Would I come here again? Maybe, but there's a good number of Thai places in Austin now!

Yelp
This place is huge with a small side patio. We had the Tom Ka and Tom Yum soup, Pad Thai and Yellow curry with beef. It was all very good! We will be back! 0

Yelp
Highly recommend this place for yummy Thai food! My Thai friend love this place too! I have been here several times already and their crab fried rice, crispy pork belly, papaya salad, and Thai green tea and Thai tea are so amazing and delicious. Their crab fried rice and papaya salad are big portions that will give you another meal. I also tried their pad kee mao and fish dish which are good too. The only thing that I don't like is their satay meat on the stick since it's a bit small and I don't like sweet meat.

Yelp
Just finished having lunch here and really enjoyed our meal. We absolutely love Thai food and have a high standard and this place passed with flying colors :) The prices to portion size was perfect too. Thai Pepper Fried Rice - Deeeeelicous! Panang Beef Curry - really tender beef and flavorful curry. Found this a little spicier but still so good. Khao Soi - this is a fusion version with Japanese Katsu style meat so we chose the shrimp and they were huge and perfectly lightly fried. Less soup than the noodle portion but so flavorful. Can't wait to come back. They apparently have a lunch special from M-Fr for around $13.

Yelp
Had a tom kha soup with chicken. It had too much coconut milk, and tasted too milky. It was just chicken in broth with no veggies. Most Tom kha I've had at other places have other veggies. Second time here. Wasn't an off day. I wouldn't return again

Yelp
There's something magical about this place. Of all the Thai restaurants I've been in Austin this one is my favorite. Not only are the staff super sweet but the flavors, omg! These photos speak for themselves and my stomach agrees. The food is and tastes so authentic. Their desserts are all homemade there as well. My boyfriend and I always have a sweet time here. Not to mention the interior and exterior space is so airy and cutely decorated with color and plants.

Yelp
I've actually come to this location years ago and remembered I had really good Thai food but had completely forgotten where it was located, so when I walked in today, it hit me like deja vu. Khon Thai opened where another Thai restaurant closed down a few months ago, and I've heard amazing things about this restaurant. My friends and I ordered take out, and everything was packaged super well. Portion sizes are great, and the food was actually phenomenal. I think they have some of the best pad kee mao I've had here in Austin. The noodles are really soft and delicate, and the beef was flavored perfectly. I will definitely come back again!

Yelp
Good menu. Great service. A good find for us, being not from Austin. Atmosphere aligned with the food & staff - positive and accommodating.

Yelp
So good. khon Thai took over the old Sap's located on Burnett. It's located in the H‑E‑B plaza. Ample parking, and relatively safe. Pretty decor and spacious tables and chairs for dine in groups. There is a small patio for outdoor dining. This is probably the most authentic Thai I've had in Austin. My partner and baby dined in on Sunday evening with our two friends. There was no wait at 6pm. 2 alcohol beverages and 2 Thai teas. The drink size it generous for $5. 5 items was the perfect amount for us 4 adults. My favorite dish was the tiger cry. The beef was extra tender, juicy, and flame charred. The tamarind sauce was delicious. My group really enjoyed the duck entree. This was my first time having Thai styled duck and I will say the sweet tamarind glaze that came in the side compliments the protein very well. I love noodle dishes so the pad see ew was a great touch. Noodles were perfectly cooked and sauced. The fried pork belly was good but could've been cut more. The sauce is spicy, be warned. This papaya salad was so beautifully prepared and presented. It was great and spicy, even at half the spice level... it was spicy! Lol next time I'll just have it 0%. Over all, we all had a great time and really enjoyed Khon Thai. Our total for everything excluding tip was $160. Will absolutely return for delicious authentic Thai food!

Yelp
Went for dinner on a Saturday and ended up loving this place! The vibe inside is really nice and the live music was really good. Ordered edamame, pad woon sen, and chicken fried rice and everything was so good. The service was also great. Definitely a hidden gem and need to come back and try more!

Yelp
Take Thai food. Add a ton of sugar. Sell to Americans. Normally, i should be shocked and appalled. But give me enough sugar, and I can be bribed. Their Thai coffee is decadent and simply out of this world.

Yelp
Excellent service in a nice atmosphere. We had both steamed and fried gyoza. Both were delicious. I had pad thai with chicken. Very good.

Yelp
Had the Tom Yum seafood soup and the value was way over priced for what I got. Mostly mushrooms, had no imitation crab at all, total of four of each shrimp, mussels, squid. Just expected better, oh and it didn't come with rice.

Yelp
Delicious Thai food. Napa, our server was delightful, warm, welcoming, and made good recommendations. Pan, the owner, was also welcoming and it was very nice of him to introduce himself. Crispy duck was yummy! Brussels sprouts nicely seasoned. The pad thai was also very good. Restaurant is comfortable, and nicely decorated. We look forward to returning soon!

Yelp
Ambiance is a mix of the modern world and Thai art. There's the wood tables but also the brick bar. There's a back room with beautiful paintings as well. Service was good. We had the moo ping (pork skewers), the hanuman transform (pork jowl) and the pad Thai. The moo ping was our favorite as it has the most flavor. Be careful because the sauce for the moo ping and hanuman can be very spicy. I had to filter out some of the spicy chilies with a fork. The Pad Thai was also delicious - closer to how I make it at home. My husband and I both thought the prices were too high compared to the other Thai options in Austin.

Yelp
Came here with a few friends to check out the new restaurant...influenced by foodie instagramer. The place turns out to be really good. As we talk to the waitress, we found out that we came before their grand opening. Maybe that's why it's not fully packed. The restaurant is pretty well decorated for date night and fill with unique wall paintings. The background music is pretty relaxing. We came with a party of 5 and wanted something like a family style. We ordered from their special menu and it definitely delivered. We ask what's their most popular dish and ordered the K5, Hanuman Transform, which was my favorite dish. My friend really like the Moo Ping. The only dish I found was ok was the K4 salmon dish. Overall, I'm excited for this new Thai restaurant. I feel like the food was pretty authentic. The price is a little bit more on the pricey side but the food was good.
