"Kibou is the kind of sushi bar that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Case in point: their motto is ‘sashimi over to our place’. Raw fish jokes aside, this big slick Japanese restaurant in Battersea serves some great rolls. It’s their chunky signature futomaki rolls that should be on your radar - and on your table - with top combos like soft shell crab tempura with sriracha mayo and our personal favourite, the panko-packed salmon volcano roll. Although this definitely isn’t the place for anyone looking for an epiphany over the quality of their hamachi, Kibou is perfect for a big round of sushi with a big group of mates who all appreciate the feelgood factor of a sashimi pun and comfy velvet banquette seating. photo credit: Nic Crilly-Hargrave" - Heidi Lauth Beasley

Vast selection of Asian delicacies. Really good fried chicken and sushis. I also suggest the miso aubergine! The service is also good, the orders were delivered quick although there were a lot of new tables coming in. It’s hard to find a table for the next few hours but if you book a day in advance you’re good. Walk-ins are hardly available.

We came here for dinner, the staff were really nice which is always a bonus for the experience. We ordered the volcano roll which was really tasty along with the chicken wings. The food lacked a little bit of spice but the flavours were great! Good portion size too so would definitely come back especially for the chocolate dessert!

We made a reservation for my son's birthday upon the recommendation of my chef friend. (We took a bit of a risk for a special occasion.) We were all very happy with our choices. Especially the volcano roll was amazing. These appetizing hot bites were delicious. Years ago, I ate tahini ice cream at a very famous Japanese restaurant and it was the best dessert I have had since then; What I ate today was sesame tiramisu. The American manager (unfortunately I don't know his name) and his entire team were friendly and sincere. We will be back for other dishes soon.Thank you much team! ✨🍽️🙏🏻🍣

Great Japanese restaurant in Clapham with high quality Sushi that hit the spot. Standout dish was the Wagyu Gunkan, which literally melted in the mouth. We also opted for the Moriawase (Chef's selection), and literally everything was good. Price was around £70 per person, and we didn't drink alcohol. Would definitely recommend for a dependable sushi experience.

Lovely atmosphere, kind and smooth service and great food to begin with. We went on Wednesday afternoon and restaurant was pretty busy so I would definitely recommend booking a table in advance like we did! What’s nice however is that even if restaurant is busier it is somehow designed in a way that you do not feel too overwhelmed and still can enjoy food and your space. Kibou team also took a great care of us, we got water on the arrival, table was clean and ready and service overall felt very genuine, not too pushy yet they made sure we enjoy our stay! Prices are very reasonable for the amount and quality of food you get. It is genuinely flavourful! We tried, to mention just a few, Volcano Roll(iconic)/Chicken Karaage/Dynamite Cauliflower/Pork Gyoza and Kabocha Korokke. My personal favourite was definitely Grilled Salmon Gunkan, really really good! They do have lots of GF/VG/V options as well as for those who do not deal very well with seafood chicken alternatives like Chicken Ramen or Chicken Bao Buns (our friend who never eats fish approved it). I know that the majority of people usually skip deserts but here they are really worth trying. The area is also very chill, it is a nice escape from loud central london to enjoy cozy lunch or dinner with friends or family. It was my first time at Kibou and I’m definitely gonna come back! Recommend.

Good quality ingredients and a great selection of sake, with plenty of vegetarian options which is always a win for me. The only improvement I’d suggest is adding more broth to the ramen, as it feels half-empty, and increasing the filling in the sushi (there’s a bit too much rice). 🫶🏼

Such a lovely place! The food was amazing, we had two platters to share and that was more than enough between the two of us. Great for people who are gluten free as everything is labelled on the menu. Cocktails were also great. Will visit again

I went to the one in Cheltenham so I was chuffed when I saw there is one in London too. The food was really great. Delicious and made fresh to order. The special drinks menu was lovely and I really enjoyed my cocktail. The ambience was bubbly, it got busy very quickly. The servers took a while to get our order despite us being the first customers and we waited a while to pay for our food. That being said, I really enjoyed my experience here and would come back again.
