Kill Bill was such a fun omakase. They take the food seriously but the vibe is playful, not stuffy. There were so many courses — nigiri, handrolls, hot dishes — more than I can even remember, and every one was delicious. A few favorites: fava beans that somehow tasted like uni, a lotus root “sandwich” with toro and shaved truffle, the cocinero sashimi from Ensenada (looked like tuna, tasted like a perfect firm whitefish), and the crab salad with ikura and crunchy rice that I mixed all together. Even the chocolate clams ended up being incredible, and I wasn’t expecting to like them.
What really stood out, though, was the hospitality. My dog had hurt her paw right before my reservation, and they not only let me move it, but when she still couldn’t be left alone a few days later, they actually let me bring her. That kind of kindness is rare. Amazing food + amazing people = one of my favorite meals in CDMX.
