The 38 Best Restaurants in Mexico City | Eater

"Omakases have been trending in CDMX for a while now, as chefs meet the demand for high-end culinary experiences with easily accessible fresh seafood, including sustainable options from Baja California. The 12-seat bar Kill Bill is a less stuffy addition to the scene, combining elements of sushi omakase, robata, and hi-fi jazz music. The casual atmosphere is ideal for enjoying the three, well-thought-out omakase options — Kill, Bill, or Kill Bill — the last including super premium ingredients like certified Japanese wagyu and caviar. The pairings include sake by the glass or bottle and an elegant wine selection with crisp oranges and whites. Best for: Pin this one for a date night celebration, but make sure you book ahead of time." - Natalia de la Rosa

Absolutely wonderful. From service, to food, to atmosphere. One of the best omakase experiences and one of the best meals we’ve ever had. The salmon sashimi with the truffle cream literally made me emotional. The flavors moved me 😂. Artists at work.

Wow! One of the best dinning experiences ever. Our chef Gerardo deserves 5 stars! The nigiri is spectacular. A few of my favorites were the salmon with chestnut, the tuna with caviar, and fatty tuna with sea urchin. All of the nigiris paired so well with the Spanish orange wine. One of my favorites dishes was the kama yaki, fish collar, in a ginger sauce. And the matcha tiramisu for dessert is an incredible touch to end the night. Will definitely be back on my next trip to Mexico!

The experience is so rich and vibrant and the sushi and dishes are incredibly tasty. It’s definitely a highlight for anyone visiting Mexico City. The only thing you need to remember is that you’re going to pay similar to what you might pay in the US or Canada for this experience. Worth it for sure but just in case you’re trying to stay on a budget this isn’t that kind of experience.

Came for a 9:30 seating and we walked up a few mins before 9:30 and the previous seating was still finishing. We didn’t get seated until about 9:45pm. They didn’t tell us in advance that it was omakase only. We did the kill and the kill bill option with 2 pours of sparkling sake and our bill was $5,700 pesos. It was pretty overpriced for what you get in my opinion. It was definitely a lot of food and we were really full when leaving but for that much money I was expecting each course to be amazing and that wasn’t the case. We only selected the kill bill option because on the menu it said it came with wagyu but we didn’t get any. The kill bill option didn’t have too many differences and also came with a piece of rice with a full crab on it, which was not good, the full crab should not be eaten like that with the shell. I would understand if it was a deep fried soft shell crab but it was a hard crunchy shell and painful to eat and scratched up the inside of my mouth.

EXCEPTIONAL experience. The food was phenomenal, we did omakase and loved every part. The chef was amazing and tailored it to our preferences. The staff was engaging and incredibly attentive. Will absolutely be back.

The meals were great. 3 options of Omakase (chefs choice) of 14 courses and a dessert. I got the Kill course, which included japanese and mexican seafood. There were some surprise and fancy bites. The service was great. The restaurant is tiny and only sits 14 people, and since the place is tiny, it's a bit noisy. The waiters have no choice than to stand right behind you and they anticipate your moves as they need to assist you back to your chair if you happen to use the 1 restroom. That is why I gave it 4 stars. It took me a few minutes to ground once seated. By Reservations only and the firsts group is seated at 7pm and the second group at 9:30pm. Since everyone is seated at the counter I don't recommend it for a group of more than 3-4 people as you can only sit next to each other, not across, and it's difficult to carry a conversation. This is a great experience for couples.

Amazing experience! We did the Omakase and were impressed by how flexible they were with our preferences and allergies. The attention to detail was outstanding, and the quality of the fish was exceptional. Definitely a top-notch sushi experience!

The food is mediocre at best. Small pieces of nigiri that aren’t better than your average sushi joint. The venue is beautiful and the experience is very nice, but for 3000 pesos, I expect the best sushi in town and this was far from it. Out of 14 courses there were perhaps 3 that were really good. Unfortunately very underwhelming.
