The 38 Best Restaurants in Mexico City | Eater

"Omakases have been trending in CDMX for a while now, as chefs meet the demand for high-end culinary experiences with easily accessible fresh seafood, including sustainable options from Baja California. The 12-seat bar Kill Bill is a less stuffy addition to the scene, combining elements of sushi omakase, robata, and hi-fi jazz music. The casual atmosphere is ideal for enjoying the three, well-thought-out omakase options — Kill, Bill, or Kill Bill — the last including super premium ingredients like certified Japanese wagyu and caviar. The pairings include sake by the glass or bottle and an elegant wine selection with crisp oranges and whites. Best for: Pin this one for a date night celebration, but make sure you book ahead of time." - Natalia de la Rosa

Kill Bill was such a fun omakase. They take the food seriously but the vibe is playful, not stuffy. There were so many courses — nigiri, handrolls, hot dishes — more than I can even remember, and every one was delicious. A few favorites: fava beans that somehow tasted like uni, a lotus root “sandwich” with toro and shaved truffle, the cocinero sashimi from Ensenada (looked like tuna, tasted like a perfect firm whitefish), and the crab salad with ikura and crunchy rice that I mixed all together. Even the chocolate clams ended up being incredible, and I wasn’t expecting to like them. What really stood out, though, was the hospitality. My dog had hurt her paw right before my reservation, and they not only let me move it, but when she still couldn’t be left alone a few days later, they actually let me bring her. That kind of kindness is rare. Amazing food + amazing people = one of my favorite meals in CDMX.

This is a gem! The Black omakase was on par with what we are in Japan. The vibe is great, the atmosphere and jazz music on vinyl with low lighting—excellent ambiance! The entire meal was executed beautifully. We loved it all.

Phenomenal food with exceptional service made for a true culinary experience. I had the “Kuro Black“ 14 course dinner. Pricey but in comparison to what I’ve had in Los Angeles, New York, and Tokyo a real deal. I had two waiters who were exceptionally attentive and explained each course in detail. I cannot recommend this establishment enough.

What a great concept for an omakase. Everything was absolutely delicious and unique. I love that they have a great non alcoholic pairing to go with the omakase. Thank you Alejandro and Jorge!

This was recommended to us by Sam at Takamura, as they make part of the uniforms. Love the space, great lighting, comfortable and inviting. The menu is omakase and it doesn’t not disappoint. For the price, it’s a great value and the staff are both friendly and engaging, which makes for a nice time. Also, as someone with a shellfish allergy, the did a pretty solid job substituting for fare that was comparable (vs vegetables). Highlights: Mexican fish sashimi.

this place is EXCEPTIONAL. i’ve had sushi in japan and all over the world and it’s as good as any. we did the full tasting menu with a pairing and it was worth every cent (which is a deal compared to comparable places in the US and elsewhere!) it’s delicious and a great break from local cuisine for 11/10 experience. staff was fantastic and well informed. and they were able to accommodate food allergies as well! highly recommend and well worth the night while in mexico city.

There is a reason why this is a 180 usd per person place. Food is amazing, service is the best, atmosphere is super cool and food is the best (ha x2). Try all the dishes and open your mind. Delicious.
