"At this old-fashioned burger bar in Pearland helmed by barbecue king Ronnie Killen, picture-perfect dogs served with freshly-baked buns and house-made pickles join the long list of burgers, sandwiches and shakes. Killen uses locally-sourced 44 Farms beef for the restaurant’s all-beef hot dog and allows guests to customize away with toppings like Wisconsin cheddar, sauteed mushrooms, and bacon." - Brittanie Shey, Megha McSwain

Google
Like always it was a awesome meal. This will be the third time I been there. Like always never disappoints. The food was excellent and service was quick. Would recommend to anyone as a must try if you like burgers. To be honest I don't know what the Killens sauce is but it adds an extra layer of flavor to the burger. The next time I go I want to try the cheese steak and hotdog.

Google
Great Burger Juicy handmade patty, Bun was toasted and buttery, And the vegetables were fresh, cold and ripe. Service was quick. Front counter person was pleasant and personable. Place has a good vibe to it. If you're in the area I would highly recommend this place.

Google
2nd time here. 1st time Had a regular cheese burger fries, onion rings and a banana pudding shake. Everything was amazing. 2nd time I had the fried chicken, fries, okra, sweet potato fries and a banana pudding shake. All was amazing. Best chicken in the Pearland/Alvin/Manville/Friendswood area for certain. We will be back.

Google
Can't beat biting into an old fashioned juicy and delicious burger, made fresh to each order. The service is fast and friendly, and the atmosphere is very family friendly. I went with the mushroom swiss burger and it was pretty damn good! They don't skimp out on any of the ingredients either. The brisket fries are also delish (which btw you guys need to try their BBQ place down the street). Overall a solid burger joint tucked into the heart of Pearland, and will be a usual stop for me whenever I crave a good burger.

Google
Delicious!!! The meat has a tasty crust and truly an old fashioned burger with the 50s theme restaurant to take you back. The bottled Dr Pepper with sugar cane sugar completed my meal. It was well worth the drive and I will be coming back.

Google
Seriously the best burgers in town. Super chill, family-friendly vibe, and the food is always fresh. The inside feels like a cool throwback, kind of like stepping into another era. I usually get the cheeseburger and it never disappoints. Definitely ask for Killen’s sauce… it takes it to the next level! Thank you for the $1 burgers today 😎🔥

Google
I've been wanting to try this place for years. I finally tried it today, and WOW!!!! Boy was it delicious. I ordered the double cheese burger and it was the bomb. It tasted like a Freddy's steak burger on steroids.... You can definitely taste the freshness. The hand cut fries were good also, but the sweet potato fries were better... The vibe inside is like an old diner, I loved the decor... The banana pudding milkshake was heaven sent.... 10 outta 10 for me

Google
First time trying this place, it was good, the onion rings were a bit pricey 8$ & weren't cooked all the way. Like not crispy, thr milkshakes were definitely good & the burger was juicy. The cheese curds were great & I wouldn't recommend the waffle fries there just like chick fil As. Plain hardly no salt.

Yelp
Driving by this place for months and finally had a chance to stop by and see what these guys have to offer. The ambiance is cool even with a decent amount of people the day we stopped by, and they bring your food out within reasonable time. Had to go with the double meat, double cheese "Killens Special" which seemed larger than I thought but it did the job that evening. Their fries are fresh, crispy and soft at the same time which is always a plus from any burger joint! I'll have to stop by again and check out something else...maybe those milk shakes I saw on the menu!

Ray S.

Yelp
When the burger was amazing, it was juicy and juices were flowing out of every bite. The onion rings not too many folks can make these, they knew what they were doing. It was a very simple meal, hamburger, strawberry shake and onion rings.. It was just amazing and my cashier was right on very hospitable. When I come to Houston, I'll always stop here and get me a nice good burger. The old-fashioned way.

Chris B.

Yelp
I love this local joint! The food comes out quick, and service is very friendly. Everything on the menu is done to the high standard of the Killen's name. We've had a lot from the menu and nothing ever comes short of quality food. Condiments are serve yourself along with kindly put away your own trays because we're all functioning adults. The restaurant itself is clean. There is plenty of parking, and the bathrooms are clean. We love supporting local, but specifically local businesses like Killen's Burgers who are always thinking of the community. During the storms, they've provided food for the community. Then they have been doing $1 cheese burger days to feed everyone who didn't get a chance to make it to the first day they did it. Overall, the owner and this place show heart to the business and not just a storefront. This place will always have a customer in me and my family!

Herman L.

Yelp
Great spot for a decent burger made the way you want. They have daily specials and today was $1.50 cheeseburgers so you bet we took advantage. Burgers had very fresh ingredients and seasoned just right. Fries were all cooked crisp with a good soft center. Order and pickup at the counter, and grab to go bags if you need them. Fountain drinks are pretty standard. I'd say the normal pricing is about average for a non fast food burger joint. Parking was no problem today but it does seem a bit tight.

John N.

Yelp
It's been 8 years since I've been back! I know because they still have my little girls picture on their Yelp page (thanks)! Ok.... Still a great burger. Better than the burger joints near me (shake shack, hotline, etc...)? Yes? Maybe? Worth the drive to Pearland from SW Houston? No. If I'm out here, Killen's Burger is a great stop. Cheese curds were underwhelming and they use peanut oil. I'm looking forward to trying the brisket burger or Kobe burger next time. Looking forward to the next visit. Probably in a month.

Vee h.

Yelp
It wasn't a bad burger, but wasn't the best. A little bit too greasy and I like my fries to be a touch crispy. We got the cafeteria burger and it was a generous size. The place was clean and had a nice ambiance. The person who took our order was very helpful and welcoming.

David C.

Yelp
Killen's Burgers is a must visit stop in Pearland if you're in the mood for a solid burger! While the looks may seem like your old fashioned diner, their food takes a slightly modern spin by incorporating things like Wagyu, truffles, and bbq brisket. Coming for lunch on a Wednesday, it wasn't busy at all. Service was very fast as expected. We tried their mushroom swiss burger, killen's double cheeseburger, and their Wagyu burger w/ jalapenos and pepper jack cheese. We completed the meal with crinkle cut fries, sweet potato fries, and cheese curds. Their big burgers were tasty and very filling. I'd recommend getting a side of aioli to dip your fries in, it's super truffle'y. Overall, Killen's Burgers makes for a solid lunch spot. Their big, customizable burgers are sure to please. Just don't sleep on their milkshakes, cheese curds, and truffle aioli, enjoy!

Alexander Z.

Yelp
this place was amazing it had such good burgers the drinks had flavor service was really good and food was served quickly overall i totally recommend for picky eater and others like me. The Ambiance was good too. 5 stars all the way

Natasha L.

Yelp
Oily AF! Take a bite and be ready to have oil squeeze into your mouth. Yes the burger looks good but it didn't taste well. Fries are alright. Pretty sure I can make this at home with the help of some frozen fries from the grocery store. After a few bites, I was done with the burger. The oil taste was too much. Service was good. Place was clean. Good prices. I really was looking forward to liking this place, but this wasn't the case.

Kori W.

Yelp
This place was recommend by a friend. She never disappoints. Burgers are made fresh and juicy. Fries are in large supply. Fountain drinks are bottomless.

Deanna W.

Yelp
Cute self serve restaurant, 50s vibe, clean. The burgers are very good. I personally think the buns are too greasy. For most people the small burger basket for $10.50 is a large enough portion size. Regular burgers are HUGE!

Jonathan Garcia G.

Yelp
Everything from the Food, Service, Ambience, and everything else in between was great !!!!!!!!!!! no silver onions on the burger !!!!!!!!!!!

Nimoy J.

Yelp
Got the brisket burger. The brisket was dry and the beef patty lacked flavor and dry as well. Would have been better if ribeye was used for the grind. Seemed like sirloin or some other lean beef. The plus was the portion size but at $14 for only a burger and no fries or side was a bit much.

Stephen H.

Yelp
Cheeseburger, onion rings, and strawberry shake for $25? Yes, the burger was great. The onion rings were limp and soggy--horrible. And the strawberry shake was ridiculous (what is that, strawberry jam in there?). Couldn't finish the sides they were so bad. So even with the good burger, definitely not worth the $25 price tag (BEFORE they asked for a tip). That's another thing. Who am I tipping exactly? I ordered at the counter, picked up from the counter, and bussed my own tray. Anyway, not a good experience.

Nick K.

Yelp
The burgers are still good but I like a good beer with my burger. My wife likes Michelob Ultra and I like Shiner Bock or Crawford Bock. It was never an issue until the last couple months. So water it was to was down a burger. From now on I will be going back to my original burger favorite, STOMPS! Good burgers and good beer, it's even on tap.

Michael A.

Yelp
Eh. It tasted okay. My burger was under seasoned, and the crinkle cut fries are frozen. I ordered the BBQ burger and it comes with an onion ring, but the onion ring still had the papery outer layer. That's lazy. There are a HUNDRED other burger places I'd visit before spending another $22 here. I also watched the cleaning lady wipe tables down, pick trash up off the floor, touch the garbage cans then brew tea with the same gloves on. Corny interior. I honestly expected A LOT more from Killen's brand.

John H.

Yelp
The place was packed and felt like a retro diner perfectly. I got the food pretty dang quick too. While the burger I got(double cheeseburger with bacon) was perfect in about every way, the cheese curds are in a word: flavorless. Seriously, the cheese used is wrong, you can tell its one of those cheeses that loses a lot of flavor upon melting. However, the apple pie milkshake made up for it in spades. I'll be back for more, even at the crazy high price, because its one of, if not the best burger in town.

Deighv S.

Yelp
Cool old 50's style burger and shake place. Similar to a 5 guys setup. You order at the counter and call your name when it's ready. Nice people were working there. Cool JJ Watt sign and signature on the wall. I ordered brisket fries. They were decent but I could them better on my own at home. The burgers looked pretty good though!

Benjamin R.

Yelp
Not a bad burger, onion rings were gross. Definitely overpriced. 50 bucks for two people is ridiculous at a burger joint like this.

Michael E.

Yelp
Good food, but a little greasy. Great service. It could be cleaner. Tables and chairs needed to be wiped down.

Darren P.

Yelp
Kinda like a divey burger joint but well worth the trip. The bbq brisket burger is loaded with melt in your mouth brisket on a burger. I will definitely order this again. The onion rings are home made with just the right amount of home made breading. If you're in need of a delicious burger and onion rings, this is your go to. Definitely recommend this place. If I'm in the area, I will return

Andrew N.

Yelp
I love Killens BBQ, so when I was in Houston I had to make sure to try Killens Burger. The burger itself was good. Not the best or anything that stood out. So I was a bit disappointed. Then I had the banana milkshake and that changed everything! It was so freaking good. The place was really clean and the lady that took our order was patient and nice. I would definitely come back for a shake and onion rings though.

Danny S.

Yelp
This is one of all time favorite restaurants! This is because of the quality, price, and speed. I always get a little burger basket since it's a great price and it's just enough food. I like my burger fairly plane Jane and don't venture outside the box too much. The crinkly cut fries are always nice and crispy and not sad. The apple pie milkshake is a MUST have. I've tried tons of milkshakes and this is the best one IN THE WORLD. Even when the restaurant is packed the service is always pretty fast and friendly. They always got the games on the tv and the restaurant is easy to get in and out of

Goose G.

Yelp
Slow Slow Slow Burgers, fries and onion rings just sitting and getting cold....zero flow When did the Chicken Philly start coming with pickles? Disgusting

Greg R.

Yelp
Once again Killens killed it. The Nashville chicken sandwich is excellent! Love it. Nice and spicy and tasty. Served fresh and HOT.

Gerald T.

Yelp
In general, I love all the burgers here. Today, for some reason, I decided to try Philly Cheese Steak. Man, what a huge disappointment. Killen should have called it Philly Cheese Burger patties. That's what they used burger patties instead of ribeye steaks.

Chef T.

Yelp
These are really fresh burgers, unfortunately not well seasoned and it felt like they only added salt here and there. The Killen's double cheeseburger was very well-cooked and fresh, it just lacked some flavor and flare. Decent burger and crinkle fries. The 44 hot dog was tasty. Parking on either side of the building and nice diner style seating inside.

Chad S.

Yelp
The burgers were good but not out of this world, especially for the price point. Don't see us returning.

Apryl M.

Yelp
First visit review and tings. I happened to be out in Pearland one Friday evening and have decided to try Killen's burger. I was skeptical based on varied reviews but as a Yelper I wanted to give this burger joint a try. Let me say in my opinion they have one of the best burgers in Houston that I've tasted in a long time! I absolutely loved the nostalgia of this place. Like old school diner small town feels. For food I ordered the regular cheeseburger, Nashville hot chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries and onion rings. I went back to ask the staff if they could prepare my burger medium as they normally are cooked medium-well and it prepared perfectly. My burger was huge, tasty and juicy; and can't believe the price $8.00. I appreciated the fresh condiments; homemade pickles and red onions with they're homemade burger sauce. The homemade onions is a must try crispy batter and flavorful. Now as for hot chicken sandwich, it's was hot and flavorful, battered well and crispy. Also, sweet potato fries were good. The service was also great! I will definitely come back next time I'm out that way. For newbies and burger enthusiasts give this place a try. You won't be disappointed.

Paul W.

Yelp
I had high expectations coming here since I am a massive fan of Killen's BBQ. The crinkle cut fries and strawberry milkshake were fantastic. Iced tea with lemons was great. Double cheeseburger with Killen's sauce: meat and cheese and sauce were fantastic but there was not enough sauce so it was kind of dry and the bun was so dry and fake tasting/feeling on the inside it was awful. The bun ruined the burger for me unfortunately which is the whole point of this place imo. Despite that, the diner vibe inside and service were awesome.

Mrsanchezmusicman S.

Yelp
Greatest burgers in Pearland. Always hot and served up quick. Burgers to go or for dine-in taste the same.

Brady R.

Yelp
This place completely sucks . Here is my point by point review of exactly why you should avoid it. To the owner: 1. Your employees were completely apathetic and didn't seem to care about their job. Literally- I don't even think they knew how to show emotion or smile or say thank you. 2. Half our appeal to come was for shakes and y'all didn't have ice cream. 3. Your ice machine didn't have ice and the water spout didn't work. 4. After we ordered, and after getting our burgers and sides --we were told you didn't have ketchup (only when we asked for it.) I also ordered my burger all the way (which would have included ketchup) and your cashier also failed to mention that. Your employee offered bbq sauce instead. (I would have got a bbq burger if I wanted that) 5. I took one bite of your bland onion rings and dry burger and promptly asked for our money back. (which your argumentative manger eventually agreed to do.) 6. I will never go back to another killens establishment, whatever you once had is completely lost. I also certainly didn't drive 30 minutes to get a burger without condiments. Furthermore, your lazy rude manager should have gone down the road to krogers to buy some for the restaurant...(but I'm sure that's asking too much of her considering her general demeanor.) We went to the neighborhood scoop in Pasadena instead and had a much better burger with condiments and the ice cream shake we had wanted!

Kat M.

Yelp
Wish there were more locations around but other than that, the burgers is amazing! The cheese, the meat, the bun, it's a great combo!

April S.

Yelp
Service was amazing. However the food was mid. Burgers were super greasy. Fries soggy and flavorless. I was honestly super disappointed in the food. I probably wouldn't come back.

Ethan D.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place. I've only been once but the service and staff were very welcoming and the atmosphere is like no other. The quantity and quality is definitely worth the buck you're spending. If you like classic burger joints then I'd highly recommend this one!

Amanda P.

Yelp
My boyfriend and i decided to have a 50s type date night dinner so we came here dressed in Grease fashion. Not many 50s diners left around so was happy this was here not to far from our house. The food was great for diner food, aside from the fries that were not as hot as i would have like but the milkshakes were on point. Would go again.

Bart G.

Yelp
Stopped by for lunch with a coworker while in town for a funeral. Really enjoyed the chicken sandwich and the home cut fries are really good! Staff was friendly. Will come back if ever in the area.

Steph H.

Yelp
Oooohhhhh weeeee! This is the best fried chicken sandwich I've ever had! My family had the brisket sandwich and the chicken bacon Philly and everyone loved their food selections! We found it on a whim while traveling and so glad we did. It's totally worth going off the busy freeway to enjoy good food. You will need to sit inside to eat though as these burgers and sandwiches are too big to try to eat and drive...stay safe...eat inside!

Austin C.

Yelp
I didn't even get to try the food I came at 6pm on a Wednesday and they where "sold out" not worth the time or effort it took to come try them spend your money elsewhere

Mike C.

Yelp
The first time I went here I had a miserable experience. Wrote a review and it turned into a nightmare. I decided never to return. After a year, my heart said lets do this again and see what happens. I love burgers. My second visit could not have been better. Mr. Killen, I may have hated you after my first visit. I can't say that no more. If you do every customer like my second visit, I highly recommend Killen's Burger. Atmosphere is nice. Retro will always get to heart. It reminds me of the old days when I used to go to the main street restaurant that had a bar to sit at and order my $.05 coke and buy $.25 of penny candy. You can't beat this place.

Abeda C.

Yelp
Burgers were amazing!! Probably one of the best burgers I've had from another burger joint. The sweet tea was not sweet enough and the person taking our order didn't seem very friendly... my only complaints. My family (family of 4) and I went for the first time and we all ordered a burger, fries, and a drink and spent under $70.

Lai D.

Yelp
Truffle Aioli Burger - 5/5 Double Bacon Burger - 5/5 Banana pudding shake - 5/5 - do not pass this one up Fries - 4/5 - nice and crisp crinkle fries with seasoning Came during lunch hour during a weekday, line goes fast and plenty of seating available. No outdoor seating. Parking also available in the back of the building.

Michael C.

Yelp
I am picky ah with most cafe/joints for burgers bc so many suck bad n have no seasoning, etc. In the whole Pearland, Manvel, Friendswood, Webster area, only a couple places actually make tasty burgers imo. I cannot stand crappy, no-taste Hubcap, Pop Top or Burger Barn to name a few. However, I always had a thing for Killen's Burgers. My Hamburger n Crinkle Fries were both very delicious, fresh, seasoned and good quality. They also had good textures n moisture too. My burger was a little crispy on the outer layers with a juicy center n good grill flavor, along with good buns, veggies, etc. I asked for the special sauce on the side n they forgot, but that's ok bc it was not even needed at all imo. The meat patty was nicely seasoned and very beefy in taste. The fries were soft and had their own savory seasoning, no ketchup needed. I had a simple, but very tasty n satisfying order. The service was great n friendly as well.

Donie P.

Yelp
I was looking for a good burger & ran across the reviews for Killens burgers. Homemade burgers are really good they cook them medium well. I also had the onion rings & they were a little salty. Overall I would eat there again.

Meghan S.

Yelp
Great food, good prices and fast service. I had the brisket grilled cheese, healthy portion of brisket.

Phillip S.

Yelp
Place is down played, the old diner feel is great and simple, the food is outstanding! Took the family and ate here for maybe $10 more than Whataburger. No I love me some Whataburger but the quality and portions here blow them out of the water. Will definitely be going back.

Tom H.

Yelp
Great burgers and atmosphere. Highly recommended. Prices on par with every where else.

Teresa M.

Yelp
Excellent hamburgers & onion rings to doggone good! Better than homemade ! Meat moist medium rare Killens is still on TOP!!

Curtis K.

Yelp
Great burgers, great fries, sweet tea ain't southern sweet. Prices were cheaper than I expected.
