A New Yuzu-Centric Brewery Has Begun Brewing Beer in Portland - Eater Portland

"Oregon chain Killer Burger has started selling burgers for online orders at its new NE Russell location. Last year, the brand announced that it would take over the space once home to Russell Street Barbecue. The new space will specialize in takeout and delivery beer and burgers for now, and will begin accepting walk-ins on January 25. Until then, people can order via third-party apps or the online ordering site." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

Dinning both inside and a small outdoor patio area. Not at all busy on a Sunday evening. Great cashier/ order taker. Burgers were great, excellent flavor and better than average size. We had the shareable French fries, which cones with two sauces. The KC BBQ was pretty good but the Killer Burger ranch was below average. Parking would probably be difficult on a weekday. Led Zeppelin was playing when we arrived but then it changed to heavy metal, with some Offspring scattered in. Would definitely return and sample some if theirs other offerings. Sunday was $2.00 PBR. Pepsi products at the fountain. A small selection of draught beer.

Google
Reliable and delicious burgers. The fries and beer selection accompany their burgers well. I appreciate their menu options and how they have paper towels at the tables. Go here before a show at the Wonder Ballroom - it's only a brief walk across the street!

Google
a bit pricy but the peanut butter pickle burger was SO delicious 🤤 as was the peach tea 🍑 plus the cashier was super friendly! the atmosphere was clean and relaxing with flat-screens. overall great experience if you want to treat yourself!

Ben Bachman

Google
Surprised to be saying I recommend the peanut butter pickle bacon burger. $2 draft PBR.

Google
I don't believe I have ever met a Killer Burger I didn't like. Food was on point, the tap was flowing, and the service was quick and friendly. I have no complaints and even got to take home a seasoning bottle for 5 bucks with the hopes of attempting to recreate the magic at home. Lovely location, fast, and friendly. Be sure to come through if you haven't already :)

Google
Killer burger was a cool place for lunch. Food was good, taste was good and it was hot at the table. Service was friendly, but not present much. No one was available when we needed to ask for napkins, so we waited till someone came out of the back. They also have you tip when you buy the food which is not ideal. Overall would recommend stopping by for a hipster burger and fries.

Google
I waited to write this review to make sure that this joint deserves major accolades from me & BOY DOES IT!! I’ve been here a half dozen times now & I can confidently say that I’m completely in love with the peanut butter pickle bacon burger (not kidding). It’s the perfect combination of flavors, as weird as it sounds. If you’re looking for something different & are willing to try new things then don’t waste any time ordering this burger. Service is always fast, we don’t spend much time with the employees but their always friendly. Just your typical burger joint, 2 huge tv’s to the side of the shop. A few beers, & ciders on tap as well as canned ones. Great vibe! Love it, wish there was a killer burger in Central Oregon.

Google
Food is amazing. Always fresh tasting with great ingredients an amazing atmospere they have the coolest tree right in the resteraunt. Good pricing for what you get. I have yet to try a burger i havent liked. Staff always on point. Any time I'm in the area I make sure Killer Burger is on the destination list!!!

Yelp
Great experience. We have visited Killer Burger once before in Tanasbourne, and now Russell Street. Both times the burger, beer and service has been tremendous. We went to a concert at the Wonder Ballroom, and Killer Burger being within walking distance, it was the obvious choice, plus I have been anxious to visit again. I had the Meathead, our daughter had the Classic, and my wife had a Veggie Burger with green chilis. She remarked how good the burger was, and how the vegetables in the patty were so flavorful. The shared tots and fries were also excellent. The service at the front was extremely friendly and efficient. Now I am ready to go back again.

Yelp
Pretty solid burgers and it's very spacious inside the restaurant. It's order-at-the-counter style, so even when it's busy, the service is quick. The staff do their best to maintain the cleanliness of the space, but it does get a little messy sometimes (I think they may have been understaffed at the time of my visit). I got the Jose Mendoza burger sans the bacon, and I wish it was spicy. I think it would have been so delicious if it was spicy!

Yelp
This place has super delicious burgers. They have many choices but I wanted the classic and it was so tasty and filling. I also got onion rings and it was well made. I topped it off with some good raspberry lemonade. Prices and service were good. Next time I'm in Portland, I'll definitely visit one of their chain locations

Yelp
Great food and nice space. Staff is almost always rude or ignores you and twice now I've had the wrong change given to me when paying cash.

Yelp
Pretty tasty burgers and good value. I've never liked peanut butter much but decided to try their peanut butter pickle bacon burger which is like their thing here. I liked it, not too peanut buttery and went surprisingly well together. In terms of the actual burger, it was pretty good but not the best. The buns could've been better and I don't believe they were toasted which adds a lot and is essential IMO. But for the value it's a great deal. I saw someone complaining they got rid of bottomless fries during happy hour & replaced w/ a beer/burger/fry combo for $15, I would much rather have the beer. There were still plenty of fries for me, u can go to Golden Corral if you want a place to let your children pig out on bottomless fries. It sounds like they probably got rid of that deal because of ppl doing stuff like that.

Yelp
Oh man. I feel like I took a grease bath after spending 15 minutes in this place. The ventilation system must be down? The food and service were more than fine but I'm going to need to go home and shower and wash my clothing twice.
google avatar

Yelp
You know I used to be the biggest killer burger fan. Back when during happy hour you could get a seven dollar peanut butter, bacon, burger, and bottomless fries. Then they did away with happy hour then they raised their prices then things just started being slower and Covid hit. As we were in the area and I could really go for a peanut butter, bacon, burger, and way more fries than I'd hope for I stumbled upon a location of killer burger I didn't know existed. First and foremost it's a great environment always a great staff and it's a very consistent product. I will say though what make killer burger killer burger is slowly evaporating and it's just turning into a normal franchise. For those reasons choosing a certain Smashburger place that doesn't have all the bells and whistles, but has what I think was the heart of killer burger. This might be my last killer burger run as honestly one of the fun things was being able to go there with the kids and then just pick out on fries with their burger now the only happy hour item isn't really a great deal. It includes a beer which really truly , I rather have more fries. This may be my final review for a killer burger thank you for all the good years. It might be time to move on and you'll know where I'll be MCSB.

Yelp
We were looking for pizza, but ended up at this gem getting burgers instead. The merry traveler (me) is in Portland for a conference and needed some food after traveling for many hours. We went to grab a slice of pie (pizza) but the pizza where we stopped looked old and there was no place to sit, so we left. Looking outside we spotted Killer Burgers and decided to give it a try. I ordered the Fun Guy (mushroom and Swiss) burger. It was pretty much perfectly delicious! The cider I drank was also a tasty beverage! Brynn was very kind and helpful - definitely a people person! If only everyone in the public sector worked as hard to make things great for customers. Pros: Brynn, delish burgers, great fries, tasty cider Cons: the tables need some stabilizing so they aren't wobbling all over. One table actually had paper napkins shoved under it to stop the wobble. (I think this was probably a customer solution.)

Yelp
If you're craving a burger this is the spot to go! Their regular burgers are 1/3 lb and all come with bacon! What more could you ask for! I ordered the classic and it did not disappoint. I loved the crispy bacon and the thick cut pickles were so crunchy and added a delicious pop of freshness and flavor. I also really liked the fries! Perfectly crisp on the outside but still fluffy. They reminded me of perfectly cooked bowling alley or theme park fries. We got a shareable size so it came with two sauces. The ranch and house sauce went perfectly with it! We got our order to go and the packaging was very secure. Staff was friendly and attentive and we waited about 10 minutes for our order on a weeknight. Plenty of street parking and lot in back. Can't wait to come back to get their other burgers.

Yelp
One of my favorite burger places in town. Consistent, affordable and always great customer service!

Yelp
I've had Killer Burger twice now and tasted 4 of their burgers. ALL of them are delicious but my favorite is still the peanut butter burger. I tried it first and can't get enough of it. The smooth runny peanut butter works so well with the salty bacon and delicious juicy burger, trust me your mouth will be watering for more. Their service is excellent and their fries and ranch dipping is also really good, but please try the peanut butter burger!

Donna Q.

Yelp
Hadn't been in a while but remember the burgers being a little bigger than the one I got. Small handful of fries. For $19.00. No thanks
google avatar

Terrence M.

Yelp
Order: Jose Mendoza Pros: the burger was not bad. I did expect a heap of frys because the guy said you got a lot. However, that turned out not to be true. Side note, this burger is NOT spicey even with all the peppers. Cons: they took FOREVER to make the burgers and it was hardly busy. Im talking over 30 minutes.

Yelp
Great speedy service. The burger here is incredibly tender and tasty! My family and I got the box lunch special which is a pint burger, small fries, and a drink for only $10 (or $12 for a double) which is an amazing deal! HIGHLY recommend checking this place out for a great, high quality burger meal with a great selection of specials.

Yelp
So it has a dive bar kind of feel too it , it's located right on the corner and the staff was super Friendly. I didn't really enjoy my burger but I think it had more to do with my choice of burger than quality, it was A lot Of blue cheese. The burger it self was quality beef and the fries were good. I love that all of their burgers come with bacon. I would definitely return back !

Yelp
The food was great!! Hot and fresh. We had three adults and three kids. BLT Chicken. Best chicken sandwich I've had in a long time. Classic burger was great. Bender was good. Basket of fries is plenty for probably three. Great food. Was hot and fresh. The music playing could be better. Too hard of rock. Better to have nothing!! Service was ok. Middle of the afternoon on a Saturday.
google avatar

Joe N.

Yelp
One of the best delivered burgers I've had here in Portland. Where most arrive dry and cold, these burgers were warm and juicy. Peanut butter pickle bacon burger. I was curious so I tried it. Man, it was delicious! I was happy I got an extra side of their peanut butter sauce. We also got the fun guy which was decent. Tried the chicken BLT sandwich and that was really tasty too. Fries were great. Peanut butter chocolate bar was delicious. The quality and taste of the burgers were well with the price. They all came with fries, so no need to buy extra. Definitely recommend this place to curb any burger cravings.

Yelp
Got the Bender and my sister got the Motley Que. burgers were huge. Toppings were great. Fries were hot and go well with Bender sauce. I would definitely come back.
google avatar

Suzan P.

Yelp
Decided to stop by for lunch and went with a spicy chicken sandwich with fries. The sandwich was crispy, juicy, and the sauce was bomb! The fries were perfectly crisp and potatoey and I loved the thick salt. I saw everyone around me eating a burger so I'll have to come back and try there killer burger. Service was friendly and quick!
google avatar

Celina C. N.

Yelp
Forgot to take photo. In town for a conference, had a little over an hour between sessions for lunch. I got the original size Jose Mendoza. It delivered on its promise of spicy goodness. Servings of both burger and fries was ample, and I ate only half of both. BONUS: I was impressed to score a chunk of bacon in every bite of that burger!

Camz P.

Yelp
Man working here late night Wednesday had the best energy. I felt my mood slumping down before the concert. Had to use the restroom after a long max ride for a concert. So I decided to pop in get a small fry and use the restroom. Boosted my energy up with how nice and fun he was.

Cris K.

Yelp
Not any better or worse than any other killer burger but for some reason every time I eat here they're playing some kind of intolerable hard core music. It's so overstimulating that I've had to wear earplugs in the restaurant. Please reconsider your playlist
google avatar

Noah D.

Yelp
Good burger, great fries, casual order/ table delivery style, sticky bar, and decent bathroom. I would be happy to eat here again.

Shane M.

Yelp
Tried them on a referral from a colleague and I am glad I did. It is one of the few pleasant surprises I have come across in Portland. The service was wonderful and the food was even better. The one downside is that they did forget the sauce I asked ordered.

Christopher R.

Yelp
I have eaten at three of the five "local" KB restaurants (PDX / East PDX) either through delivery service or take out. Every burger I've tried, in either beef or or veggie variety, has been delicious! I've eaten peanut butter and bacon sandwiches for eons but the addition of the dill pickle and slapping on a burger was pure genius. It's easily my favorite burger in Portland. The Teemah burger is also outstanding and, if you like mushrooms, the Fun Guy burger is the one for you -- but ask for extra napkins.
google avatar

Casimira T.

Yelp
Totally cravable. Veggie option too. Burgers are made to order so there is no danger of a bad time. Dining room was nice. Spacious and comfortable. Not too loud which is rare for an inner portland busy spot.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is so cool. We were so lucky to find them. And very Happy we did. The staff were all so friendly and the burgers were Delicious. Service was fast, I think it took them only 10 Minutes and we were eating. Much Aloha

Yelp
Wow !!! I had the Fun Guy , absolutely an amazing burger !! Along w/ a great beer selection I have had the best burger experience in Port !! Wish I could do a second

Yelp
I called in an order for pick up just as they were opening up. Be ready in 10 mins. They place was nice and clean with a woodsy feel to it. Service was on par and the wait was on point. I got the classic burger and fries. Love the house sauce, especially with their light crispy fries. I want to say that it has a tartar sauce feel to it with the minced up pieces of pickle inside it, great flavor for your taste buds. The burger was awesome. Nice and juicy like a burger should be with fresh tomato, pickle....oh, and the bacon....can't forget the bacon. Thoroughly enjoyable. This is the burger spot in their neck of the woods, IMO. Can't speak on in any of their other locations. Check 'em out, if you haven't already.

Quincy S.

Yelp
Ordered thru Uber Eats. Ordered a Peanut butter pickle & bacon burger (fries & side of Peanut sauce). First noticed the long slices of pickle makes the thick Peanut butter sauce runny..didn't like that at all..bit into the burger and it was more than pink it was raw..more than half of it..I tried to pick around the undercooked meat but there was too much. I called this location & spoke to Travis. Travis is a nice guy but Travis doesn't follow thru with things. I called Travis twice on this matter because he promised me a refund for my burger. When I had yet to receive my refund I contacted him. He said he'd look into it & he even took my name & number. Still nothing & we're going on 2 weeks now. If he couldn't issue a refund then a replacement or credit would have been a sufficient remedy. I really liked Killer Burger but unfortunately they've lost a customer. You're a nice guy Travis.. good customer service skills.. but you have to follow through...ESPECIALLY when I could have gotten severely sick. Sucks for the both of us..I lost a great burger spot & u lost a great customer.

Yelp
Not only was the food AMAZING, but the employee who helped me out was so funny to talk with and so kind. We took our food to go, but the dining area was so cute and cozy.

Yelp
Went here for dinner earlier this week. Ordered online pick up, said it would be ready in 15 minutes. Showed up and was told it was just being started, waited another 15 minutes. Got home to discover my order was wrong and all the things I PAID to add on were not my burger. When I called I was told I could come back down to pick up the add ons, while my burger sat at home getting cold. When I asked if I could just have my money back, I was told with ridicule that they could work on getting my $1.50 back. Look, I know when you're 18 years old and you're biggest concern is figuring out what bathroom to use because you don't know if you're a dude or chick, you might not understand the value of a dollar, but I work hard for my money. And I when I pay for something, I expect it. Still haven't heard from your manager regarding my refund. Maybe try a little harder on your little burger flipping gig.
google avatar

Stephanie S.

Yelp
If you haven't heard, Killer Burger has opened a new location in Portland on NE Russell St. and MLK! I got their Fun Guy Burger that comes with bacon, mushrooms, Swiss fondue, house sauce, grilled onion, and pickles, served with a bed of fries. I also got a Buoy Boy IPA to wash everything down! I always try a new burger when I come here since there are so many to choose from! Next on my list is their Peanut Butter Pickle Bacon Burger for sure!
google avatar

Trang Nam L.

Yelp
Great and big burger with very competitive price. The French fries are so good, too. The customer service is top notch. You'll have to pay about $16 at least to have the same size burger in Redmond. I hope some day Killer burger will open their chain in Greater Seattle.
google avatar

Tiff O.

Yelp
This place never dissapoints! When you want a 'GOOD' burger and fries easy menu. Fast consistent and to the point I've been to 3 of the locations and theyre always good.
google avatar

Jeannine D.

Yelp
I went to the private event on the day they released the new burger Motley Que and got to try this burger. This was also the first time I've eaten at a Killer Burger. The burger was ah-mazingly delicious! They also have a great cider to wash it down with. I totally recommend!
google avatar

Damian D.

Yelp
Been to Killer Burger many times. Great burgers. Good fries. The service always is slightly lacking, however, it's a semi fast food joint, so I don't expect a white glove treatment. All is their locations have a tv playing either sports, or a movie from the early 2000's, and loud music. If you are a fan of bacon, this is the place for you.
google avatar

Brea G.

Yelp
First of all let me tell YOU something!!!! THIS WAS FIREEEEEE. Sandwich was real crispayyyy and the fries were hot and fresh. I just moved to Texas and I'm so sad I literally ate here for the first on my last day in Portland I will be back for a visit!
google avatar

Deandre M.

Yelp
I was in the mood for a good burger and was recommended this spot. That pickle peanut butter bacon burger really impressed me. Sounds like a crazy combo but it worked!
google avatar

Amber H.

Yelp
Burgers are excellent. I can actually taste the beef even though the burger is perfectly dressed with all my favorite toppings. The gluten free bun is the best I've ever eaten. Fries are limp and greasy. If you're reading this Killer Burger can you tell me the nutritional breakdown of a classic burger w a gluten free bun?
google avatar

Dina E.

Yelp
I love killer burger. I got the fun-guy as is. It was juicy and huge and tasty and arrived warm (yay!!) With tasty fresh crispy fries. I was also worried bc it was dinner time but the temp was correct and it came rather quickly. Highly recommend. Consumed it quickly as I was so so so hungry otherwise I would have taken a photo. It looked bigger than usual lol.
google avatar

Alex B.

Yelp
Love this spot, the meathead is always bomb af and the fries are great. Consistently delicious. If you haven't tried here, ur insane
google avatar

Bobbie J.

Yelp
First time visiting this place 9/19/21 vacation. Went for lunch turned into Dinner then again. The burgers were great and the frys wereneven better. The frys were crisp not soggy, large with skins on them. I had the jose Mendoza the green chilis were large didn't look lime canned chili. I wish therebwere some in AZ or CA.
google avatar

L W.

Yelp
Killer burger has gluten free buns that actually taste good and are soft. Their fries are the only item in the oil so they're also gluten free. Burgers too! It's so nice being able to eat out and not have to worry about stomach pain.
google avatar

Linda B.

Yelp
Had a delicious vege burger for lunch. My online ordered burger was ready to go in 10 minutes. Packaged nicely, hot and melty burger with green chilies and pickles. Spicy but not too hot, perfect for lunch. Fries were hot and crispy. I will return when I'm in the neighborhood.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing customer service and Amazing food and I love the fact how it's soo clean and I recommend this place
google avatar

Kimberly P.

Yelp
Killer Burger is amazing. I have gone there a few times and their vegetarian burger (which is an Impossible Burger) is so delicious. Their fries are also some of the best I have had as of late and they always have a yummy beer/cider menu. Definitely recommend!

Erin P.

Yelp
The food is always great!! The service is always fast, I usually get it to go. My favorite is the Jose Mendoza
