12 Best Restaurants For Highly Spicy Food in San Gabriel valley SGV - Eater LA

"For those who can handle numbing spice, Killer Noodle has customizable Chinese-inspired Japanese ramen from the folks that brought you Tsujita ANNEX in Sawtelle.  Killer Noodle serves three types of noodles: Original style, Downtown style, and Tokyo style. You can choose to get your noodles with or without soup in addition to the level of spiciness and numbness on a scale of 0-6. The spiciest noodles are a tie between the Tokyo bowl, which is a Japanese spin on Chinese-style dan dan noodles and the Downtown style, which is more of a Sichuan-esque mala noodle. The Downtown uses scoops of ghost pepper whereas the original uses Thai chiles. The chile oil takes over 24 hours to make from start to finish.  Customers can view Killer Noodle menus via QR code and place pick-up orders online via Clover, DoorDash, Grubhub, Postmates, QMenu, Seamless, and Chownow, or by phone." - Kristie Hang

Sawtelle’s Killer Noodle Expands to San Gabriel Valley Next - Eater LA

"Fiery Sawtelle restaurant Killer Noodle is expanding east, landing a big new corner location inside a busy strip mall in San Gabriel. Signage is already up for the project, though as of yet there is no firm timetable for opening. Killer Noodle rose to prominence back in 2017 as a new star on the already-bustling Sawtelle Japantown stretch in West LA. The restaurant, which comes from the busy Tsujita family of Japanese restaurants, trades in tantanmen and other ramen styles, available both with or without broth and at varying levels of heat." - Farley Elliott

A different take on Japanese ramen, I think, since it may not be ramen at all. They have ramen on the menu, but the main attractions seem to the the spicy versions with or without soup. Based on recommendations from my kids, who recommended this place, I tried the Downtown version that is more vinegar based than Tokyo that has more peanut butter creaminess to it. You also get to choose spicy and numbness levels. I went with 4/4 on the spice and numb levels, and could have taken up to a 5/5 or 6/4 as the numbness has never been my thing. I enjoyed my meal and happy i tried it, but not blown away and ready to line up for more. Maybe I need to fine tune my spice and numbness levels some more and/or try some of the other dishes. We also tried the fried chicken, which maybe the secret menu item. Problem was, they didn’t have two of the sauces I really wanted to try (Korean and spicy). I did ask and got some chili oil which helped kick up the basic sauce they have and describe as like “Chick fi La” sauce. Service was friendly, so have to give some credit for that, otherwise might be a 3 star review. Anyway, happy I tried it and will update my review of opinion changes.

Google
Shout out to instagram! That's where I saw reels of this place. I had to go! I drove an hour, and it was definitely worth the drive. Customer service was great and the food was amazing. The pork bun is a 10/10. Definitely will go again

Google
Had the pork ramen...what an artful bowl of soup...almost too pretty to eat. Very cool porcelain bowl...tallest bowl I've ever met. The milk tea was refreshing and as balanced as the broth in the ramen. Noodles were chewy good too. Just a gorgeous and delicious bowl o ramen. Highly recommend.

Went here for dinner with my boyfriend, I got the downtown without soup lvl 1 spice and he got the original without soup lvl 3 (standard spice). I have a pretty low spice tolerance (i usually order mild at most places) and the lvl 1 was a perfect amount of spicy for flavor without making my tongue so numb i couldn't enjoy what i was eating, but i may try lvl 2 next time for a good kick. My boyfriend really enjoyed the standard lvl 3 but needed to buy an extra drink (we tried the jasmine tea with foam) about halfway through his meal. In his exact words "Its soooo good but my mouth is totally numb" The waitress recommended the "without soup" to really get the flavors of the dish and I'm appreciative of that recommendation cuz it was delicious!

Google
I am by no means a ramen connoisseur. Had the Downtown. Spicy level 1 numbness Leven 1. Taste was good. Presentation nice. And like the other reviews here, I'm not entirely sure the noodle was a ramen. Whatever the noodle was, it was too hard (undercooked) for my liking. Husband had the Downtown and the noodle used there was definitely ramen. Great, fast service! Unfortunately, they had run out of a lot of important items the night we visited; no teas and no chicken.

Google
Pretty good! I think the noodles were good, I heard from a friend to eat it in the restaurant vs taking it Togo because it doesn't taste as good! I added a poached egg to my noodles. It comes looking like a raw egg, but don't worry, just careful crack it open and let it slide into your bowl, it'll be perfect (it's not supposed to be solid like it looks like the "ramen" photo on the menu!) Also order the fried chicken! I usually don't eat chicken but omg it was so good with lemon! The medium comes with 8 pieces (even though the menu says 4 pieces, ask the waiter!) enjoy!! 😍

Google
I had Tokyo style without soup today. I really love it. I had 3 spiciness and 2 numbness. I eat spicy food, and I feel like I could handle higher spicy level. But my friend who doesn’t eat spicy would pick 2 or 1 spiciness. Without soup one would come with a bowl of rice. After finishing the noodles, we gotta add rice in creamy sauce :) Tasty~ Fried chick was very good too!

Google
We had the Tokyo style noodles without soup at various levels of heat and numbness. The scale is from 0-6 and above 3 includes ghost peppers as the spice. I found the numbers to be really unique and intriguing. The flavor was great, even tasty as leftovers the next day. Tokyo style is very heavy on the peanut sauce but in a good way! Tokyo style without soup was just like a saucy noodle, which we also enjoyed a lot. Very happy with this place as takeout.

Yelp
Ambience. Dope. Service. Dope. Food. Good as hell. Spicy tonkatsu deluxe was bomb and plentiful. Did not disappoint.

Yelp
So glad they have Tsujita in the sgv so I can get my Tsukemen fix. :) Parking is easy to find underground and it wasn't busy. Tsukemen was delicious. I just wish the broth would stay hot. Once you dip the noodles, it gets cold pretty quick. Our server was nice and helped us bring down the shades when the sun was in our faces.

Yelp
My friend loves this place, so I went to try it. This shop is known for its tsukemen, which is a bowl of noodles and toppings without soup, served with a side bowl of sauce. The sauce was a bit intense for my liking, but the noodles were good. During dinner, the tables were full but eventually thinned out with time. The wait staff was super friendly and on top of things. As he greeted everyone, his accent gave away that he isn't Japanese, but he was still great! Parking can be crazy on the street level in the strip mall lot. Just go down to the lower level and be careful as you turn in and out of the underground parking lot.

Yelp
Tsujita will always be one of the best places for dipping noodles. I'm from the Bay Area and honestly nothing else really compares to it. The interior is nice, the service is great, and the food is fantastic. I really like the warm, japanese ambiance and it makes your experience better. I got the spicy tonkatsu deluxe and it was so good. I love that they give you lime wedges to help cut out some of the dense flavors from the dipping broth. And pro tip you should ask for more too. The flavor of the dipping broth that you dip your noodles in is rich and warm, and there's bits and pieces of chashu in it as well. The chashu pieces in the bowl is big in size, although some of the meat slabs were a little chewier than others, it was still pretty good. The ramen egg was cooked to perfection and marinated really well. The waiters were really friendly and I would definitely recommend coming here again if you haven't tried it. It's that good.

Yelp
Easy 10/10. You can skip the rest of the review. Best ramen broth ever. ATMOSPHERE/ARCHITECTURE: 9/10 Cozy, authentic feeling ramen/tsukemen bar. The waitstaff were friendly and knowledgeable and overall experience was great. SERVICE: 9/10 Courteous and knowledgeable staff that was not overbearing. FOOD: 10/10 Spicy Deluxe Chashu Tsukemen - 9/10 - The main unique dish that is the claim to fame here. It is comprised of thick noodles you dip into a thick spicy seafood based broth, making for a very unique eating experience that is as fun as the food is good. It also comes with thick chunky slices of chashu that are simply delicious. Tonkatsu Ramen - 10/10 - Simply fantastic. The broth is the key to a ramen dish and this broth is clearly slow cooked to perfection. Milky white and rich in the pork bone flavor with just the right amount of saltiness. It is authentic (I could hear the chefs yelling in Japanese) and made with a clear attention to detail. It is the BEST ramen I have ever had. Spicy Tonkatsu Ramen - 9/10 - Similarly good to the normal tonkatsu but this is one time the spicy flavor detracts from the dish. The broth is so good I don't want anything covering up the flavor. Overall, I recommend the normal tonkatsu ramen. You won't be disappointed. VALUE: 9/10 PROBABILITY OF RETURN: 10/10 I was in LA 3 days. I ate here twice. TO EAT OR NOT TO EAT: Eat eat eat! OVERALL: 10/10

Yelp
A Tokyo import, Tsujita is known for two types of ramen noodles. Tsukemen is when the soup is served on the side so the noodles can be dipped. The other style is the noodles are served in tonkotsu broth. Both types are served with the broth that is slowly simmered for 60 hours. The decor is modern and minimal, using light wood tones to create a welcoming atmosphere. Staff were nice and friendly. I ordered the Chashu Tonkotsu Ramen and Karaage (Japanese fried chicken) for appetizer. The chashu was soft and tender with a bit of fat and the soup was very creamy and rich umami flavor. Karaage was crispy, tender and juicy. Everything was delicious but the soup was just a bit too salty. Will be back for their famous Tsukemen Ramen next time!

Yelp
Great location for a Tsujita! There's an underground parking lot and in a plaza with a bunch of other restaurants. I've been to the Sawtelle locations and it's always super busy. This location was the same, we had to put our names down and wait. Steady line outside the whole time. Waitress was super friendly and nice! They have a kids ramen which is great for my daughter! She slurped it down. Sis and hubby got regular ramen but I decided to get the tonkatsu tsukemen, which is the soup separately. It was a little flavor heavy and I kinda wish I got the regular ramen. But overall this is a nice addition to the SGV!

Yelp
Tsujita is an LA staple with multiple locations from Sawtelle to this location in San Gabriel. This location is relatively new so we wanted to check it out. It's located in a small plaza with a few surface level spots but more parking underground. They are known for their tsukemen (dipping ramen) but they also have normal ramen and even rice bowls. I ordered the spicy deluxe tsukemen (R: $25.50, L: $27). The dipping broth was good and the dish had huge portions of chashu. It was on the pricier side of ramen but the tsukemen is a must-try at Tsujita. The spice level was not that high and unfortunately there wasn't anything at the table to help with that. We also had the karaage and the takoyaki which were both good appetizers. The staff was really friendly, all the food was good, and we left very full.

Yelp
I feel they have really deteriorated from the start as the ramen is really just about saltiness now. I visited them in the very beginning when they opened and it was really good. This time, the dipping sauce wasn't really hot as the ceramic bowl was very touchable compared to the previous times that I have been here. This made the dipping sauce very oily and extra salty. The noodles were still good but the lime was dried up, so overall, it was not as palatable as previous times. In addition, they are very expensive for a bowl of ramen. Two bowls + 1 glass of beer + tip = $60+ It's crazy how expensive simple meals are these days and they swipe you on the spot and you have to select a tip in front of him :/

Yelp
Tsukemen!!! Chewy noodles dipped in this rich broth. Huge chunks of chashu. Spicy tonkotsu ramen with generous portion of thinly sliced chashu. Sweet, tangy, juicy karaage. One of our new fave ramen places. Will be coming back for more.

Yelp
So happy there is a Tsujita in the SGV area! Came for lunch around 12:30p on a Thursday with my coworkers (party of 4) and we were seated right away. This one is comparable to the Sawtelle one. Noodles have a great firm yet chewy texture. The broth was hot, full of flavor, and we got extra limes. I love loading mine up with ginger for an extra little crunch. If you can't find parking above ground, there's a huge underground parking garage.

Yelp
Ramen or tsukemen? But if you can't decide, why not both? Originated in Tokyo, Japan, Tsujita is a popular Japanese restaurant that specializes in tsukemen and ramen. There's multiple locations in Los Angeles that have opened up but I'm so happy there's a location in San Gabriel! The Deluxe Tonkatsu Ramen was so flavorful and delicious! It included chashu and seasoned egg, which I love. The takoyaki and karaage were both made to perfection! I'm a huge fan of takoyaki as these octopus balls topped with mayo and bonito flakes are so crispy when eaten fresh. Tsujita might have the best karaage chicken I've had in the area! I was so surprised how crispy but juicy and tender the fried chicken was and the honey mustard and habanero sauce paired so well with it. I really enjoyed my meal at Tsujita and I'll definitely be back when I crave for some Japanese noodles again!

Yelp
Tsujita LA is a ramen shop located in San Gabriel and around Los Angeles. There's a parking lot out front and underneath the plaza, and there's a restroom available. They sometimes have a wait so plan accordingly. The service was pretty standard. Food We ordered the large spicy deluxe tsukemen ramen for $27. Though it's a little higher in price than usual, the portion was big and could be good for two meals. The broth is creamy and filled with meat chunks. The noodles were tender and chewy. The chasu and egg were perfectly cooked. The meal was very filling and definitely recommend. Overall | 4.6 The ambiance + service: 4.5/5 The food: 4.8/5 The price: $$

Yelp
I decided to check this place out because a friend strongly recommended it. Another friend and I visited on a Friday evening around 6:45 PM. There is an underground parking lot, so parking was plentiful. We were seated immediately with no wait time. Right after our arrival, a line did start to build up outside though. Our food was served within 10-15 minutes. I ordered the deluxe tonkotsu ramen, which includes a generous service of sliced chashu, a whole ramen egg, wood ear mushrooms, thinly shaved green onion, and three sheets of nori. The one thing that I didn't like about this ramen compared to other places is that the noodles were thin; my personal preference is thick noodles. But other than that, the bowl was very satisfying and filling. The broth was rich but not too thick and not salty, which I really appreciated. I think the green onions were my favorite part; they added such great flavor to the bowl. I finished everything, including broth. The other nice thing about this establishment is that there are a lot of other eateries within walking distance, including boba tea shops and dessert places.

Yelp
Good food, lots of parking, fast service! Food: I got the tsukumen and karaage. Very very flavorful and highly recommended. It's what they're known for, after all! Tsukumen is a dipping ramen and highly concentrated for the purpose of dipping. I love that there are small pieces of meat inside. Karaage was well seasoned and evenly fried. Tasted a little sweet too. Can't go wrong with salty and sweet. Tartar sauce was an interesting choice but I'm not mad at it. Service: Food came out quickly and the servers were attentive. Overall, I would definitely come back. This spot is definitely deserving high praise and is probably one of my favorite noodle spots.

Yelp
I was excited to see that Tsujita opened a location in SGV! They're a popular ramen chain in West LA, so don't be shocked if it's busy. I got the Ajitama Tsukemen, which comes with a soft boiled egg. Tsukemen is a ramen dish where you dip the noodles in a separate bowl of broth. The portions were large and the broth was flavorful. We also got the Karaage to share as an appetizer, they were delicious pieces of fried chicken.

Yelp
Came here on a saturday for 2 and waited about 10 minutes to be seated. The staff was great and our waters were refilled a couple of times. I appreciated the explanation of the menu items (which is pretty clear) but some bowls have slight differences. Known for their tsukemen and I recommend the deluxe! The meat is chunky and soft and the soup is thick, creamy. The noodles have a good bounce to them and the egg is a perfect soft boiled with a slightly gooey yolk. I also got the Tonkotsu ramen which is solid but the tsukemen is the star for me!

Yelp
Trying this popular ramen place and it's yummy! They are crowded so I come early today to skip the wait! Highlights of the menu: 1. Karaage 2. Spicy tuna rice bowl 3. Deluxe tsukemen - chashu pork, seasoned egg, spicy takana on the side How to eat: dip noodles in broth - squeeze lime onto the noodles - turn dipping broth into a soup and SLURP! 4. Matcha Tsujita pudding 5. Chocolate Tsujita pudding

Yelp
I recently dined at Tsujita LA in San Gabriel on a Friday evening around 7 PM. We put our name down for a party of 6 and were told there would be a small wait, which was fine with us, but we ended up waiting nearly an hour. While the wait was longer than expected, the staff was commendable. They frequently came outside to update us and apologize, trying to manage the situation as best as they could. It wasn't the staff's fault at all and the delay was due to limited space and one party lingering inside after finishing and paying for their meal. - - Large Deluxe Tsukemen (3/5): While the dish was well-prepared, I found the sauce to be a bit too heavy for my taste and it wasn't as enjoyable as I had hoped. The price for the large order was $26, which was a little bit pricey for what it was in my opinion. - - Karage (5/5): This was the highlight of my meal! It was deliciously crispy and came with various dipping sauces which all complemented the chicken nicely. Overall, I'd give my visit to Tsujita LA a 4/5. Although the tsukemen wasn't to my liking, the quality of food and the attentive service made for a positive experience. I'm looking forward to returning and trying their ramen next time, as I think that it might better suit my taste.

Yelp
Really looking forward to one of these ramen restaurants after trying something similar in Osaka. Saw this new location and also the old town Pasadena location. Decide to give this one a try as it's easier to get parking here (underground) We tried the deluxe Tsukemen and ajitama Tsukemen and the chicken karaage The noodle is thick and chewy. A very generous portion. The dipping soup tastes pretty much the same as we had in Japan. The chasu are huge and generous. Service is ok. There is only one server for a week day morning. But she tried her best to check on us whenever it's possible. The reason of -1 star is the time. I found that these newly styled ramen place is taking longer and longer to get the food ready. Ramen in Japan are known for time efficiency. That means ppl can eat and get out in very short period of time. It took them almost 20 minutes to bring out our food. And we are the first table to order. Same case for Menya Hanabi in Arcadia. it can took them up to 30 minutes on the weekday evening to get my food ready. I am quite puzzled about how come it took them so long. This is definitely not the case when we dine in similar restaurants in Japan.

Yelp
More lime please! I love their noodles with lime, remember to ask for more! I've been to their original location, so I was so happy that they opened one closer to home. Their broth tastes like how I remember it.

Yelp
Tsujita serves up an excellent bowl of tsukemen, or dipping ramen. I am not an LA local so I recently tried this place for the first time. There was a bit of a line during lunch on a Saturday, but nothing too bad. We were offered bar seating, which we didn't mind, and got to eat much faster. The servers are very attentive and quick. The restaurant is a bit tight from what I remember, but they did have a ton of seating and open light. We sat in front of the kitchen, so it was nice to see how each bowl was prepared. Because of how busy the restaurant was, it did take a while to get our food but it was understandable. I've had tsukemen before (most notably at the restaurant from the chef that used to work at Tsujita!) and really enjoyed it. The broth is a lot fishier (I assume they use more dashi than a tonkotsu or shoyu broth that most people are used to) and the broth is much thicker. The noodles were delicious, bouncy, and very chewy. It held onto the thick broth very well so that we were able to get the flavor of the soup with each bite. The pork was also charred beautifully, and the addition of lime added some zesty citrus to help cut through the thick broth. Overall, the meal was incredibly worth it. I think our bowls were about $20-$25 (?) which sounds expensive, but considering the quality of the food and the amount you get (did I mention they give LARGE portions?), it's definitely worth a visit if you're ever in town and want to bring people around.

Yelp
I've driven by this place a couple of times and finally got the chance to give it a try! We arrived around 6 PM and were able to be seated right away. It was relatively quiet and not too crowded. We started off with the Kaarage for the appetizer, which was super flavorful and juicy. The chicken has this sweet glaze that makes it addicting. I wasn't a huge fan of the dipping sauce, but the chicken by itself was enough. As a main course, I chose the Deluxe Tsukemen non-spicy. The noodles are on the thicker side, toppings are on top of the noodles, and the dipping sauce is served on the side. The sauce itself took me by surprise. It was thick and savory, which reminded me a bit of gravy. Very rich. One of my favorites was the Chashu. It's not too fatty and very full of flavor. I found myself dipping almost everything in the dipping sauce, and it was great! The only downside I would note would be the prices being a bit high, though the portions for the main dishes are fairly large. I would also warn if you are sensitive towards overly rich and savory dishes, it might not be to your liking. Nonetheless, I would recommend it if you are in the area. It is one of many good dining choices that San Gabriel has to offer!
google avatar

Yelp
The ramen is delicious. You can taste the quality ingredients however for the price it's on the smaller size. I got the spicy Tonkatsu ramen which has a little kick. There's lots of parking in the shopping center either ground level or down in the parking lot. Although it was good, I can't justify spending almost $20 on a bowl of ramen and not feeling full. I think if you're not super hungry you should give it a try.
google avatar

Bob C.

Yelp
Friendly service, good food, clean restaurant, a little noisy and crowded. Got the super deluxe and everything was really good. I'd recommend getting the large, you get an extra bowl of noodles and that's easily a second meal by itself. Pork is thick cut and tender, noodles are bouncy, the broth is very earthy and strong bonito flavors. So if you dislike bonito, this would not be for you. Only complaint is how expensive it is, 27$ for super deluxe. Will be coming back but won't be frequent due to price, but it's worth it.
google avatar

Linda K.

Yelp
The menu of this place is quite limited BUT they have very good quality of menu. Started with Chashu Bowl, the sauce of the pork is very tasty and it is presented well, while the ramen, the broth is so flavorful and thick, the thin noodles also tasted soft. The whole elements in ramen combined well. Service is very swift and flawless. The place is not that spacious but comfortable, there is an open kitchen where we able to see what Chefs working on preparing the dish. We'll come back to try Tsukemen Noodles!

Yelp
Hubby and I came on a Tuesday afternoon around 4pm. We were greeted right away and told which tables to choose from. Our server was extremely friendly and provided us with answers to my questions. We both had the tonkatsu cha shu ramen. Broth was flavored very well. I chose to substitute the thin cha shu slices with the thicker ones and omg were they deliciously tender and fatty! I'm a sucker for thick cha shu. My husband got everything normal with the thin slices of meat. Even those were delicious! However, we both agreed that it was a little heavy on the saltiness. Chicken karage was very juicy and not overly fried! Probably one of the best ones I've tried. The pieces were large and the dipping sauces were a great pairing. It was just the right amount of crisp. The gyozas were just okay. Nothing special about them, just that they were crispy. The ambiance was very quiet and the music that was playing in the background was like Japanese "metal" which I thought was pretty cool. Something I noticed that was interesting was that the chef/cook was Hispanic. She made excellent food!! The restroom doesn't have a baby changing table, but it's spacious and was pretty clean. Parking wasn't too bad either. We had a good time. Will return!

Yelp
I was first intro'ed to this chain at the Americana at Brand in Glendale. I was so upset when it left but then thrilled to know that there was one in San Gabriel. The ambiance is similar to the Glendale one in that they play Japanese samisen "rock." Think of the prog rock band Yes. Technically, a samisen is a string instrument, so why not treat it like a guitar? Everything's the same and thoroughly consistent. I love the addition of a "Spicy Tsukemen/Tonkotsu" but I was told by the waiter that they were discontinuing it (this was the second time I was at this location) and was redirected to the spicy takana (pickled veg) in a container next to the pickled red ginger. Are people saying it's too spicy and that's why they're discontinuing it? Ooh, intrigue. Nah, I'll order the original. The cravings I have for this place are 50/50. Fifty percent is about the noodles; 50 percent is about the gravy (yes, I know it's a broth but it's gravy to me). If I get extra lime wedges (to spritz on every layer of noodles), that gives an extra 10%. This is a pricey place to enjoy humble dishes like these but the quality is very top and consistent (which is sometimes the most important thing to me). I can depend on Tsujita giving me thick, chewy luxurious noods and a creamy, rich decadent broth with Asian spicy level hot and umami coating my tongue. We're so lucky to have this chain in America because I've been to the one in Shibuya and it was a long wait. At least you don't have to wait that long here. Mini-mall parking (underground, two levels).
google avatar

Yelp
I inhaled the deluxe tsukemen ramen experience served with chashu pork, seasoned egg, and you can add as much spicy takana as you desire. Takana is a spicy mustard seed that looks like a paste on the side. I'd never had it before and was rightly advised to go slow when adding it to my meal. High ceilings and a bright interior welcome you into this noodle house- Nestled in the corner of a shopping plaza, there's parking on ground level or you can go subterranean and park in the garage. I was seated right away and offered help explaining how the dipping ramen works - they didn't talk down to me or anything, which I would have deserved. Super helpful and friendly staff. Back to the food! There wasn't a single bite that didn't slap my tastebuds. Everything works so well dipped into the gravy. I wish I'd ordered some appetizers. I'll be back to try more and the creamy ramen, as well. You can add lime to your noodles for some flavor, too. The chashu was delectably soft and the noodles were not thin but not too thick or chewy either. When your dish is near completion, the staff will notice and come around to ask if you'd like to add wari to the bottom of your bowl. That transmogrifies the dipping gravy into a more delicious broth-like substance.

Yelp
Very short staffed despite being weekend lunch rush. There were empty tables but they didn't have enough staffs to clear and set up - so u end up waiting quite a bit to be seated. Their signature tsukemen was def the best I had compared to all tsukemen ramens I had elsewhere. Regular portion was more than enough. Tonkotsu ramen was very rich and tasty too. I would def return for their ramen alone. Staffs were very friendly and professional. Just wished they had more help!

Yelp
Came here right when it opened on Saturday and had no wait though people started flowing in right after. Was pretty full by 12:30. Ramen here is on the pricey side probably because they are well known. I tried both of the classic ramens here. Deluxe Tsukemen Ramen - Solid tsukemen ramen here and the saltiness in the gravy is cut by the lime given. The deluxe gives a good amount of meat, gravy is flavorful and just right. That marinated egg though is where it's at! (4.5/5) Deluxe Tonkotsu Ramen - I thought the Tonkotsu here was solid. Flavor was strong but not overly salty. Deluxe also came with a good amount of meat. Solid (4.5/5) Glad I got to try Tsujita for the first time and it's really good. Prices are definitely on the pricier side for food, I spent ($52 before tip for 2 people) but definitely high quality noods and broth.

Yelp
What's up: Dinner with the family. Ever since Japan, we always looked for places that had Tsukemen, the yummy dipping noodles. And guess what? This place had that, so yay! Parking: Located in that busy plaza right next to the Hilton, parking on the surface level can be difficult. But, they do have an underground parking with plenty of spots. Environment: We came right before the dinner rush and were seated immediately. After placing our order, we had a short wait before the food arrived. Staff members were friendly and the place was well lit and cozy. What was ordered: - Tsukemen (yummy. The broth consistency was very close to what we experienced in Japan and was not overly salty. Noodles were nice and chewy) - Takoyaki (yummy and hot) - Karaage (yummy by itself, extra yummy with the sauce) - Tsujita Pudding (got it in matcha. Soooo creamy and good) Yay/Nay/Meh: Yay. Definitely yay. Food was excellent and the ambiance was super comfortable. I think the food was fairly darn close to what we had in Japan. And that pudding...sooooo good. Credit cards are accepted.

Yelp
My first time having dip ramen and it was friggin' amazing !!! As my first meal of the day, it blew me away with its flavors, textures, and everything! You dip the cold noodles in the warm thick broth in a separate bowl with trimmings of meat and extras, and the flavors of the broth and the texture of the noodles make the PERFECT bite. Holy moly, that's what's up! Big slurpy thumbs up. The takoyaki was meh.

Yelp
Tsukemen never disappoints, and this SGV location was on par, perhaps even BETTER than their other locations! The food was freshly prepared, broth was steaaaaming hot, chicken karaage was juicy and tender and the warm bowl of Tsukemen is hearty and sooo comforting. The servers are very accommodating and swift and the restaurant is clean and spacious! Always recommend the Tsukemen, add egg or chashu (we got deluxe) . The pork is cooked to soft perfection and the egg is always my favorite topping! Make sure to ask for the warm broth to add to your dipping broth after to end the meal!

Yelp
So happy that they opened up a second location in SGV! So I don't have to drive all the way to Sawtelle. The best tsukemen aka dipping ramen I've ever had. What we ordered: - Tsukemen: You dip the cold noodles into the very warm and flavorful broth. Noodles are thick and chewy. There are pieces of the pork inside the dipping broth. - Tonkotsu Ramen: The soup was rich and creamy. Chashu was tender and comes with thin noodles. -Chashu Rice Bowl: The rice was so soft and fluffy. Chashu was thick and it has a sweet and savory sauce on the bottom and topped with shichimi (chili powder). Service was quick and attentive. Restaurant was nice and we enjoyed the music. Overall would recommend.

Yelp
We got the deluxe tsukemen, chashu rice bowl & kaarage. The noodles were really good and bouncy! The chashu from the rice bowl was a bit saltier than expected so it was a bit hard to finish it. The kaarage was the best part - extremely juicy and the fried skin was thin and crunchy. Parking: there's an underground lot with plenty of parking! The route inside is a bit confusing since it's mostly one way so you'll be going head on with plenty of other drivers.

Yelp
I had an amazing experience at Tsujita LA Artisan Noodle! From the food to service to ambiance 10/10!!! Parking- Plenty, they also have an underground (very safe) parking garage with charging stations! Service- Fantastic, we were served by the amazing Jena, she took the time to go over menu items I haven't tried and gave some amazing recommendations! Food- DELICIOUS! we tried the takoyaki, tsukemen, and the ramen. It was my very first time trying the tsukemen and it was super yummy. The flavors, freshness, and quality of the food is impeccable! Tsujita is very clean and family friendly. I will definitely be coming back! :)

Yelp
Went on a Friday night at around 9pm and waited for around 30 minutes to be seated. Seems like they are either understaffed or service needs better training. We had the Deluxe Tsukemen and the Tonkotsu Ramen. They're known for their tsukemen but I thought it wasn't that good and the broth should have been hotter. The Tonkotsu Ramen was a bit better. We were able to try their matcha pudding for dessert and we thought that was pretty good.

Yelp
I'm so happy that we finally have a Tsujita close to home. Sawtelle's distance and crowds can be a deterrent for wanting to enjoy the options they offer. There's always a wait over there, but almost never one here. The decor has changed to be more rooted in Japanese heritage and is simple and modern. I remember the days they used to have faces of their workers plastered along the wall - an interesting decision to say the least! Service here has always been friendly, quick, and efficient. The menu iterations have changed a few times, but their tsukemen is their signature mainstay. The dashi is strong and flavorful, paired very well with the al dente noodles. Their karaage is some of the best I've ever had - crisp, juicy, and perfectly coated. Their ramen dishes are par for the cuisine, but definitely get the tsukemen if stuck between making a decision.

Yelp
They used to be killer noodles and that was not good at all. Since they changed it to this I haven't been back because I didn't think it was gonna be any good. Surprise surprise, their ramen is probably the best in the nearby area. I've had the tsukemen and the tonkotsu twice and both times was great. Memorable, soothing, so filling and honestly sometimes I crave it. The prices are definitely steep specially for the size of the bowls. Luckily you can add a side of noodles for about $4 if it wasn't enough for you. The tsukemen dipping broth can be refilled for free so you just have to pay for extra noods if ya feeling carby. The tsukemen noodles are all dente and I love that chewy texture. Personally I love broth so the tonkotsu is perfect, rich broth that goes insane with the free fermented condiment (insert Japanese name here!). Addicted. Wash it all down with a little Asahi and voila, food coma. Nice staff and little to no wait even on a weekend. Parking underground available or street.

Yelp
Just like the Tsujita in Sawtelle! There were a lot of people dining already around 6pm, but we were promptly seated when there was counter seating. I ordered the regular Tsukemen and my friend ordered the Chashu Tsukemen. It wasn't too long before our food arrived, so the service here was quick and attentive. We also both got the "cold" noodles, but the broth was very warm! Going ahead with the regular tsukemen, the chopped chashu wasn't very obvious, but it was in the dipping broth. There weren't a whole lot of chashu pieces tbh, so I wish they were more generous with that. A lot of the chashu meat was also fatty. My friend's chashu tsukemen looked really good! It's essentially the same thing except she had more meatier pieces. We did say that the dipping broth does get really salty. The more it sits, the saltier it gets too, so I feel like this would be better to eat as soon as you can when the broth is also really nice and warm. The noodle textures was also really good here, it was super chewy! It was my friend's first time experience trying tsukemen style, so i'm glad she enjoyed here as well. Great addition to SGV and I liked how this location is not crazy packed at all.

Yelp
Searching for a hearty bowl of tsukemen? Come and dine at Tsujita! Here are our 5 Star FAPS: Food (F): We ordered the gyoza, ajitama tsukemen, and the deluxe tsukemen. The gyoza is a pass. Next time, we'll try the karaage chicken instead. Both tsukemen bowls were delicious! Served with a hearty and thick broth and plentiful noodles, you'll be full at the end! The lime is also a nice touch. Even if you don't get the deluxe, there is chashu in the broth. Ambiance (A): Clean and well lit. There were lots of couples and families! Parking (P): We parked underground in the lot. Not sure if you're allowed to park on the second level down, but there were A LOT of open stalls there. There is signage about Staff Parking, so we tried not to park near those signs. We took the elevator up that said Hotel, exited from the hotel's lobby, and walked to the restaurant. Service (S): No wait on a Friday night around 6 PM. The service is fast with ordering, bringing out the food, and getting the check. The only thing we would like is if they would walk around to refill water. There didn't seem to be long waits, for they cleared tables fast and welcomed the next guests continuously.

Yelp
Super excited to try this place after seeing the new location in old town and the crazy lines!!!! Ordered the deluxe tonkotsu ramen and the spicy tuna over rice bowl. The tuna rice bowl was amazing and just the right portion size. I could eat that all day everyday. The ramen on the other hand, was good but didn't wow me like other places. The broth was a bit too oily, and the noodles were bit too hard for my liking. Couldn't finish it. Next time I'll try something else or just stay with the tuna rice bowl.

Yelp
The food was p good! More or less what I expected, although a bit pricey. :/ The service was no good tho. @whoever the manager is please spend some more time training your employees.

Yelp
The first thing I get asked after walking in: "Hi, are you the influencer?" ... Uh no but does it matter? I joked with the server a little but that shouldn't be the first thing that you should ask when a customer walks in. I get that you would want to be ready for the influencer in all but I don't think that's the way to go ... regardless, the same server was still accommodating and attentive which is fine but it wasn't a very good first impression :( Ordered the Deluxe Tsukemen $24.99 (The famous dipping ramen) Taste 9/10 Noodles 8.5/10 nice and chewy (not too bloated) Chashu 8/10 very fatty :3 Sadly I did not add soup cuz I was hella full by then but I did take it home and it became another meal for me~ The music they had playing was very fast paced guqin that made me feel a bit anxious and rushed. It was fine as they changed it sometime during the meal to more chill music. Other than that, I would come back for the Tsukemen or later, try the ramen~ :))

Yelp
Delicious tsukemen with very large portions. Previously home to my favorite Ajisen Ramen, Tsujita replaced Killer Noodle due to popular demand. The store ownership remains the same, along with Ajisen Ramen's layout. Parking is convenient and free with plenty of space underground. We were greeted by the staff and seated right away. The price for adding all of the toppings individually equates to the Deluxe Tsukemen, so we all ordered the deluxe. I was impressed by the large, tender slices of chashu. The meat melted in my mouth and because I love noodles, I devoured it all. One bowl of tsukemen seemed pricey at first, but it's worth it. I was satiated and happy by the end of my meal and (kind of random...) this meal helped me go to the bathroom in a good way. Would definitely come back.

Yelp
Great to see that didn't have to drive all the way to west LA to get to try this place. Came on a raining weekend and not much wait. Menu pretty limited which made it easy to order Tsukemen was on point. Reminded me of what I had in Tokyo station. Noodle was fresh. Dipping soup was flavorful. Can be pricey but certainly worth the experience. Recommend for any tsukemen lovers.

Yelp
As soon as I stepped in I noticed the interior was super clean and modern which was a plus. The server was very nice when taking our order. We got the Tonkotsu Ramen, Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen, Ajitama Tsukemen, and Karaage. The Spicy Tonkotsu was a bit salty imo so I would suggest getting the regular tonkotsu and adding the spicy paste which they have on the side. They are famous for their Tsukemen aka dipping ramen and my friend had gotten this one which I should have tasted a little of because now I regret not knowing what it tastes like. But this day I was craving something more soupy so didn't even bother tasting the tsukemen lol. Anyways if you come here def try their Tsukemen so you won't regret it like me.
