Kilmartin Castle

Wow! What an amazing space to celebrate! Kilmartin Castle was absolutely idyllic and perfect for our extended family. All the bedrooms were well equipped and had really cool furnishings. The dining room was so cosy as was the great hall where we all convened in the evenings. The outside dining space was incredible right next to the pond with beautiful views. And of course the fire pit went down well with everybody as dusk arrived. The location couldn't have been better to explore this part of Scotland which is slightly off the beaten path and makes it even more appealing. Simon and Stef have done a fantastic job with this destination!

For those looking for a spectacular way to have an intimate wedding; Kilmartin Castle is near perfection. As a photographer, it meant the world that I had somewhere to create where I could forage the table elements, have helpful hosts, a getting ready spot in a stunning castle and the greenhouse for reception vibes. 10/10 recommend on behalf of my couple!

We booked Kilmartin Castle for a family vacation in January and I cannot say enough wonderful things about this property! It is spacious and yet cozy, immaculately clean, and beautifully decorated. The amenities are luxurious, both indoor and outdoor. It is also in a lovely location for exploring rural Argyll and especially the ancient monuments near Kilmartin. The hosts were extremely helpful and responsive as well.

We are a family of six and had the whole castle to ourselves for three nights. It is incredibly beautiful - inside and out. We also really enjoyed the pond and garden. We used the outdoor wood fired pizza oven one night for home-made pizzas including freshly picked herbs from the garden. We ate in the candlelit 'glasshouse' in the garden. It was magical, and great fun! The museum, cafe and pub which are all within walking distance were also a bonus! This was a truly unique experience. Highly recommend!

We have just enjoyed the most magical, comfortable and breathtakingly beautiful castle in Scotland. Believe me, this place will take your breath away. It’s even more spectacular than the pics, than previous reviews, than your expectations. It must be experienced!! Our fairy-tale home for just three nights gave us every comfort and smile imaginable…. Underfloor heating, wood burning stoves, worn stone stairwells to test balance and agility, cosy window seats to take in the outdoor colours…. Nooks & crannies filled with antique gems, artwork surprises… Communication and explanations on how the castle works were clear and thorough. What a talented couple you are Simon & Stef, for bringing this ancient building back to life again. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us create the most memorable stay ever!

We stayed at Kilmartin Castle in April 2024 and had an amazing experience. We highly recommend Chef William Hammer. He cooked for our group when we stayed at Kilmartin Castle. The food was imaginative, delicious and so unique. He is a wonderful young man and is definitely going to be a top chef. I see an amazing and one of a kind open flame cookbook and then a streaming sessions. So grateful to have had his incredible meals.

I was very fortunate to be invited to my partners friends birthday which they were celebrating by hiring out Kilmartin Castle for 5 days. It is spectacular. The castle has been renovated so well with quirky posters and art mixed in with beautiful antique oak furniture and more traditional features. I hope to be able to return for another stay in the future.
