This was my first time here on 10/26th, and my family and I dined in. Thank goodness we got there in time to not rush because I’m a slow eater, and I didn’t know they close at 6:30p and that’s 6:30 on the DOT that the waiter brought our check, wanting us to hurry and pay. Lol! I’m not offended though…it’s just a difference in culture. My food was yummy and it was a large portion! Chicken katsu and fried dumplings! 😋 I’ll definitely go again!

Google
Delicious! Highly recommend the chicken katsu and the meat dumplings. Terrific service. Clean bathroom.

The kimbap we have had here (kimchi, squid) is excellent and great portion size for the price. One thing I noticed between this place and the kimbap we have had around us in MoCo was that this place has a way better ratio of non rice to rice and is therefore, much more flavorful. We have gotten the bibimbap and felt it is also better than MoCo places, and the price of $12 is much cheaper than the ~$16 we normally see. The cold soup is also very tasty and refreshing, especially on a hot day. Probably my favorite Korean restaurant. Great taste at very reasonable prices. Recommend!

Google
Absolutely glorious food. The savoury items are to die for. We tried quite a number of dishes and loved every one. It was an absolutely mad crush so be prepared to que and wait, it's worth every second. It was a 2 hour drive for us to come but we'll gladly do it again, just for this lovely little spot.

Google
One of my favorite places to go! Their kimbap is simply something I crave. Tuna is my favorite one but the others are super good too. I love their tteokboki and gimari combo. Snack food with quality!

Google
Delicious brunch! Ordered kimchi fried rice, kimchi jigae, squid and tuna kimbap. It was delicious and has great service. Definitely will return!

Yelp
Cheap, fast, filling, delicious. Amazing spot in Ellicott city serving Korean comfort food at an affordable price. Service is super quick, perfect for a quick bite for lunch. The restaurant is unassuming, but clean and cozy. The food itself is amazing for the price and the taste. For 13 bucks I got a spicy ramen, Kim bob, pickle and tea. I had so much I had some to take home for another meal. 10/10 would recommend

Yelp
Having chosen the Americanized name Nora shortly before her family emigrated to Canada from South Korea, Na Young narrates her understanding of past lives and a past love in Celine Song's quiet but provocative film Past Lives. "There's a word in Korean: In-Yun. It means "providence." Or..."fate." But it's specifically about relationships between people. It's an In-Yun if two strangers walk by each other in the street, and their clothes accidentally brush. Because...it means there must have been something between them." Nestled in a part of Ellicott City known to residents as Korea-town, Kim Bob Na Ra provides the type of culinary memories that spark, burn, linger, and return, no matter if you are dining in with work colleagues or, in my wife's case, ordering takeout so that you can dwell on the Tuna Kimbab or the Spicy Anchovy Kimbab by yourself at home. Although those experiences could just as easily be shared, the sights, smells, and tastes will linger nevertheless, even for one.

Yelp
Great food, we loved the spicy anchovy kimbap and thought the basic veggie was really tasty too. The dukbokki combo is a really good deal as well, and the rice cakes had a nice chewy texture. Casual dining and reasonable prices make it a great lunch spot.

Yelp
A very nice spot either great service. The food was very good and flavorful. It was well kept and clean too

Yelp
Ordered tuna kimbap, odeng tang (fishcake soup), and tteokbokki+kimmari combo (spicy rice cake + fried glass noodle wrapped in seaweed). Everything tasted amazing!! Tteokbokki is on the sweeter side - sauce feels ketchup based, with cabbage. Liked that it wasn't watery. Kimbap portion is generous. Odeng tang was not too salty and perfectly seasoned. The place was packed on a Friday / lunch time. Overall, their price is reasonable, service was fast and the owners were so sweet. If you're craving street food style Korean food, would definitely recommend going to Kim bob na ra!

Yelp
We have been coming to this place before they renovated the inside!! Love the food. Kimbap is always yummy... we tried the spicy anchovy one this time like everyone recommended and it was so worth getting. Oddly we always get tuna but this time around we got it and we got sick... definitely recommend this place and I think it's just better to eat there !!

Yelp
Stopped by for lunch with my girl friends. Got seated right away and brought out hot teas for us. The place bit small and was pretty packed with only two empty tables. We ordered spicy anchovy and kimchi kimbap, Sujebi and Sujebi ramen. Everything was good. Spicy anchovy is definitely spicy even for someone who enjoys eating spicy food regularly. Have me a heartburn later. But this is one my favorite places to visit for Korean street food.
google avatar

Nevin J.

Yelp
One of my favorite places locally. Me and the wife love the spicy anchovy and tuna kimbab the best! We also love the spicy tteok-bokki. The service is great as well and has homey environment.

Yelp
It's been several years since I last came here. I happened to look at some reviews more recently, and it looked better. My family and came by recently, and wow it is so much better than I remembered. the Kim Bob was really good. It was slightly warm with a brush of sesame oil on top, and that made a big difference. The ratio of filling to rice was just right as well. It was excellent. We ordered sujebi, janchi kuksu, octopus with rice, and bulgogi. All were splendid and decent portion sizes as well. I haven't enjoyed a meal at a Korean restaurant like this in a long time. It gets pretty busy during lunch hours, and I can see why. I am definitely coming back!
google avatar

Yelp
Food, service, prices, all fantastic! The rabokki is always amazing, the Kimbap is always good and fresh. It's a small establishment so sometimes you have to wait but they are constantly moving and clearing for the next customers. We eat here every time we are in town and it never disappoints!

Yelp
Cheers to my 400th review!! I've been wanting to try more authentic Korean food so found Kim Bob Na Ra through trusty Yelp (and some other recommendations). They close pretty early each day at 6:30 so definitely plan ahead if you are planning to visit for dinner! It's a small no-frills kind of place with delicious food! We ordered the bibimbap, tteokbokki, tuna kimbap, bulgogi kimbap, and kimchi stew. Everything was delicious and the tteokbokki and kimchi stew packed a punch heat-wise! It was a lot of food and we ended up taking a decent amount home. The portions are definitely large for the price!
google avatar

Yelp
Great food at a very affordable price. My fiancée and I love their kimbap, specifically the tuna and bulgogi. They also have delicious and affordable ramen. The owners are extremely nice and friendly. We recently came back and saw that they had renovated their space. It looks much nicer and we are glad they are doing well. We need more affordable and scrumptious Korean food, and Kim Bob Na Ra is one of the best in town.

Yelp
Highly recommend for anyone looking for authentic Korean food in Baltimore. Would go back every week for kimbab.

Yelp
Great little Korean restaurant in EC. We went on a Saturday afternoon and there was a bit of a wait as there's only 7 tables. The man gave us a pager notifying us it's a 20 minute wait so went walked around for a bit. We ordered the C16 Bibim Naengmyun and E5 combo (ddukbokki, veggie kimbap, and fishcake soup). The waitress cut up the bibim naengmyun for me as I guess they don't give you the scissors. I enjoyed the dish, and it's great for hot days. My partner and I enjoyed the kimbap and even ordered another one to-go. Ddukbokki is a great snack food, and it was pretty good. Fishcake soup was good, but could be more flavorful. Side dishes were also good.

Yelp
Authentic Korean after visiting historic Elliott City. Fresh made kimbop. Delicious tofu seafood stew and hotpot bibimbop. Free tea offered. Prompt service.

Yelp
Good food! Love the kimbaps, sujebi, and kim mal yi. Always enjoy take out from here

Yelp
I don't usually drive up to EC, but I'm really glad I came to Kim Bob Na Ra for dinner yesterday night to catch up with a friend. This restaurant is a mom-and-pop with very friendly service (the man serving us was super hospitable and made sure we had our banchan refilled throughout our meal). The prices here were extremely reasonable, too! I love kimbap and was excited to see there were various options here. The kimbaps we got were super fat and filled with lots of ingredients (tasty folded omelette, radish, carrots, spinach, and imitation crab) along with the protein. My friend and I split the following three kimbaps: TUNA KIMBAP - 6.50 Definitely our favorite. We thought the texture and flavor of the tuna with mayo went really well with the rest of the kimbab. They give you a generous amount of tuna here, as well. We highly recommend giving the tuna kimbab a try! BEEF KIMBAP - 6.95 The bulgogi in the kimbab had a nice and sweet marinade that was very tasty. We didn't think it mixed nearly as well with the rest of the kimbap (compared to the tuna) but thought it would taste better on its own (would probably try getting the bulgogi entree next time). Still delicious and would recommend if you like bulgogi. CHEESE KIMBAP - 6.50 My friend and I were really curious about what this would be so we got it to try. The cheese is literally a few American singles stacked together, lol. It wasn't our favorite, but it is still pretty good. It's exactly what you imagine it being though, haha. I'd prefer it if the cheese was melted. My friend and I were really full and we had enough leftovers for another meal, which was perfect since I love leftovers for lunch! Not sure when I'll be in EC again, but I'm super glad I found a good kimbap place in the area!

Yelp
Tried Kim Bob Na Ra for the first time for a late lunch (around 3pm) on a Sunday. The place was packed - mostly with Asians, which is usually a good indicator of quality for an Asian restaurant. We started with the complimentary kimchee (four kinds) and it was delicious. We had never had Kim Mal Yi before and it was our favorite of all the dishes we ordered. My second favorite was the veggie kimbab. We had never had Ddukbokki before either, and enjoyed that as well (this was pretty spicy). The chicken fried rice had an exceptionally good flavor. Finally, the stone bowl bibimbab was good, but there was almost no crispy rice on the bottom (that's usually my favorite part); the soup that accompanied the Bibimbab was exceptionally tasty and served hot the way it should be! Loved the tiny yogurt drinks for dessert - very refreshing. Overall, the food was a 4.5+ and the service was as well (5 for helpfulness and 4 for efficiency). We will probably return for more great Korean food!

Yelp
Highly reconciled this place if you are craving kimbap! The shop itself is small but was in crowded on a weekday afternoon. They have a wide range of kimbaps that are all very decently priced. We got the tuna and bulgogi kimbaps which were delicious, but I think the bulgogi takes the win for me! It also comes with kimchi. The service here was a little slow and not the best; but the food made up for it!
google avatar

KT R.

Yelp
Really liked the kimbap- don't know if it's authentic, but it's really good. Service was friendly and quick. Small place.
google avatar

Ashley W.

Yelp
SPECTACULAR local spot filled with very affordable, tasty, and well-portioned options. The owners are extremely welcoming and friendly! Comfy, cozy no nonsense atmosphere. Their kimbaps are FANTASTIC! I highly recommend the squid or tuna kim baps, as well as their tteokboki, naengmyeon, or kimchi sujebi!! Heads up: Seating can be a tad limited, especially on the weekends, though they have a good buzzer system in place (was able to browse nearby bakery when my buzzer went off). I've also ordered here a bit for takeout, and had multiple very seamless experiences.
google avatar

Rebecca N.

Yelp
Kim Bob Na Ra was recommended to me by several of my Korean friends, so I had to try it. It quickly became one of my favorite places to eat - especially for their tuna kimbap. The omurice is also pretty good (fried rice wrapped in egg and topped with ketchup). It's run by a friendly couple and service is always pleasant. I've only dined in, but they do get a lot of takeout orders and there's usually a 10-15 min. wait for this - just something to keep in mind.
google avatar

Kristina S.

Yelp
Have been craving Kimbab and drove all the way from Germantown to come here. It was very good and the kimbambs were huge! We tried the veggie, beef and nude. We also had their fried dumplings, bulgogi, and chicken katsu. Everything was so good and well worth the drive. The service was very good and they are very nice! They give you Assi drinks with your check, my kids loved them and took ours.
google avatar

Ivy L.

Yelp
The best kimbab we've ever had! All are freshly made by order and delicious! Since the place is pretty small, we always ordered to gao but the taste always as perfect! Our order: Tofu Stew (very spicy) : It's filled with seafood, veggies and tofu, the seafood soup broth was super tasty and it come in generous portion. Donkatsu, fried pork cutlet : The fried pork a lil bit dry and hard to chew, maybe it's overfried or maybe that's the style, we probably will skip this menu in the future. Veggies kimbab plus Spicy Anchovy Kimbab, The star : the kimbab is in the must have list! All are rolled in deliciously fresh and very generous portion. If you love anchovies, never missed this one! It's a staple comfort food We will always back for the kimbab!

Irina D.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem. Excellent food that is authentic. I've tried the kimbap (beef) and hot stone bibimbop. Will have to branch out and try some of the other items on the menu! Love the complementary sides and soup. Service can be spotty...
google avatar

Jody M.

Yelp
Amazing Korean food and friendly staff. I ordered a sampling of several things and enjoyed them all. The Tteokbokki was my favorite and I ate it with the omurice for a perfect combination. The dumplings were great and the gimbap was tasty. I loved all the little sides that came with the meal.

Esther K.

Yelp
5/5 ... 5/5 in food, service, ambiance, and the amazing people that run this place I've been coming here for a while (since 2016) especially when I'm feeling down and craving good comfort food. I've been having a rough couple of days and the only motivation to get up today was Kim Bob Na Ra. I came and picked up my food and after paying for it, I looked over the fridge and wanted a Sprite. I told the nice woman that I'd like to pay for this Sprite as well and offered to pay in both cash or buy more sprite to buy it with card. She vigorously shaked her head with a big smile on her face and said "no no! On the house! It's okay! It's okay!" This small but kind gesture of hers has me bawling in tears sitting in my car. She has no idea how much this means to me in these rough times I'm going through where I'm losing hope in humanity. This restaurant and the owners who run it never has once let me down so please come and support them! They won't disappoint.
google avatar

Ellie W.

Yelp
Exceptional experience all around. Kimchi stew was one of the best things I've ever tasted. I could have swam in that broth. Kim bab was also delicious. And prices were very reasonable and service was quick. Don't sleep on this place
google avatar

Donna Y.

Yelp
I come where whenever I'm craving for Kim bop. I've tried all the varieties and my favorite is the beef. The Kim bop are large so one order is usually enough to fill me up. The shop is small so finding a spot may be difficult but I've ordered take out many times and the food carries well. Service is smooth and when you get your bill it comes with a complimentary yogurt drink. :p

Yelp
Our best friend wanted to check out the now official Koreatown in Ellicott City for Veterans Day and was looking at places that were affordable and don't have locations in Montgomery or Fairfax Counties so settled on this place. My fiancé and I ordered the Dduboki, Veggie Kimbap, and Fishcake Soup Combo and a Tuna Kimbap. Our friend ordered a Ramen and Beef Kimbap. The food was all very delicious and quite affordable. I loved the spice and flavor of the Dduboki and the taste of the Fishcake Soup. The portions of the Kimbap are also very generous of the price as it seemed like a special Korean version of sushi. I was surprised we ate it all and the total was only around 50 dollars for all of us. They also give free appetizers like kimchee. We ended up sharing most of the food. The place seemed very authentic and would love to come back. Also, outside is a new pagoda for Koreatown that you should check out which Governor Larry Hogan recently broke ground on.

Teresa L.

Yelp
Very tasty food has menu items that are difficult to find at other run of the mill Korean restaurants - ie they have foods that remind me of my childhood! Service is also great, very friendly and very fast! We try to make it out there at least once a month even though it's a bit of a drive, highly recommend!
google avatar

Andy K.

Yelp
Quick Korean food when you're wanting some homecookin style Korean food. Small dine-in space so avoid popular times. Also be sure to call to see if they're open, their hours are a bit random.
google avatar

Brittany S.

Yelp
I've been coming here for almost 10 years and it's the same every time, amazing! The food is always tasty, the service is always good. If things are getting backed up they let you know and bring more side dishes and drinks. I love the ambiance because it feels very homey and cozy. I always feel comfortable coming to eat here. I've never had a bad meal here and I've tried almost every dish. They also provide banchan and refill it if you ask. In the summer they give water and in winter they give warm corn tea. If you're ever in the area please check this restaurant out. The owner are a brother and sister who work very hard!!
google avatar

Cathy H.

Yelp
We had the bulgogi and squid kimbap. We also got their rice with egg. The kids really loved the rice with egg. It was rice with essentially an omelette on top with ham and onions in the middle. The squid kimbap was my favorite!

Judy O.

Yelp
All the food are yummy! I love their rice cake, fried rice and soup! The service is great and people friendly.

Yelp
My go to for cheap comfort Korean food! Service is quick and attentive. I would recommend the tteokbokki below and one of their many kimbap flavors !
google avatar

Ben J.

Yelp
This place is the best!! One of my partner and my go-to Korean spots in Ellicott city. It has a lovely mom-and-pop vibe as it is a small spot of maybe 10 tables and the owners are in the kitchen, running the counter, and bringing out food. The menu is not overwhelming, just 2 pages and encourages exploration. Want to try a new dish? It's all tasty here! That being said, our go-to items are stone bowl bibimbap (sizzling rice and beef perfection), Kimbab (obviously!), and Ddukbokki (can't get enough of this stuff! Although quite spicy). Everything is delicious and I love the slow pace, personal service, and affordable prices!
google avatar

Shaun B.

Yelp
We ordered takeout from Kim Bob Na Ra. The food was excellent and ready when we arrived to pick it up. The service was great. Kim Bob rolls were large, very plentiful and fresh! The Bi Bim Bop was very tasty and spicy. The prices were very reasonable. We will definitely items return and have already recommended to other friends curious to try Korean cuisine!
google avatar

Liz W.

Yelp
I love this place! It was recommended to us so we decided to try it when we were craving for Korean food. It's a small mom and pop shop. The service is friendly. We called in our order and we were told that they will be ready for pick up in 20 minutes. Price was higher from the last menu that I saw online, but that's understandable. Orders: beef kimbab, fried dumplings, bulgogi dupbab, jjampong and chicken katsu. My favorite was the jjampong!! It's spicy and delicious! I also liked the beef kimbab, I might try the tuna next time. Serving was large, they lasted a couple of days! I can't wait to come back and try the other dishes.

Yelp
I have always liked this venue and now it is even better than before due to the new renovations. It is more bright and cozy. The sound of happy patrons is so nice and comforting especially when you are not having to scream over the music. The wait was not that long and was even less than the 10 minutes that we were first quoted upon arrival. It was appreciated that the crew were was able to clean the tables so quickly after the patrons leave. Once seated, we were given enough time to get the order ready. It was simple enough to ask for the entrees by numbers, point at pictures, and attempt to pronounce the names. The order came out fairly quickly and the portions were generous. These tables get full fast and the foodie "must try" habits in all of us should not overload our table or your appetites, especially if you have to run errands still. Delicious, beautiful, and comforting food! This really feels like going to the best mom and pop place that the neighborhood has to offer. I have had dumplings and mandu in many venues and these are some of the best in my opinion. The size, balanced flavors, and perfected cooking techniques are what makes my all my senses happy with everything. Maybe it's because I'm picky or maybe it's because I love the craftsmanship of this cuisine, but the quality is on point and I am taste the Love! The staff stayed busy, polite, and efficient. It look forward to keeping this venue in my comfort food collection. I did not want to put off the errands, but it was nice to have some leftover for a wonderful snack or lunch !

Yelp
I think a new owner/cook took over. The kimbap is tastier than before, which was already pretty solid. The ones I've gotten had a really good rice to filling ratio - packed with meat and veggies, not too much rice. Usually get the tuna kimbap, ddukboki and kimmalyi.
google avatar

Alex L.

Yelp
Fantastic staff/ownership, fantastic food. Probably our favorite Korean food in the area
google avatar

kris p.

Yelp
It's such a cute place in here.. it gets busy at times but won't stop the quality of food coming out of the kitchen. Staff is super friendly and attenative. IMO, one of the best Ddukbboki (spicy rice cakes) in town. Not to spicy not sweet. Hits the spot all the time. They also have this dish called Kim Mal Yi. (Deep friend seasoned glass noodles wrapped in seaweed) If you come here and work your way through the menu, you won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Mel B.

Yelp
Excellent service and great food. We got the kimchi fried rice and beef kimbab. Both were delicious. I would get the beef kimbab each time and try something new along with it for future visits. Kimchi fried rice was good but pretty standard, so I'd likely try something new and different.
google avatar

Yahellah B.

Yelp
I love that I can get vegetarian soybean paste stew here! The vegetable kimbap is always fresh and the banchan is a nice compliment. Their kimchi may be my favorite in the area! Ive only gotten to-go, but the service is always friendly. Prices are reasonable and great portion sizes. I wish I had one closer to home!
google avatar

Tammy B.

Yelp
Best korean street food in the area! Mom & pop style shop, perfect for a quick meal or carry out dinner. Tonkatsu, yuk kae jang, tteokbokki with cheese, kim mal yi & dumplings (so good with the tteokbokki), spicy anchovy kimbap (so spicy so good). I could eat here everyday.
google avatar

Matt T.

Yelp
I love this place--it's a must try in Ellicott City! It's very wallet-friendly and so filling. You could easily fill up from two orders of kimbob, and I usually order the kimbob when I'm here because it's the namesake of the restaurant (and it never disappoints!). I personally like the kimchi one the best!
google avatar

Amy L.

Yelp
Ordered 3 kimbap and 1 yukaejang for carry out. The kimbap were delicious and I would get them all again! I ordered beef, tuna, and kimchi. They were all really well made and had a great filling to rice ratio..maybe 90 to 10!!! This is pretty hard to do, or mb I'm just a bad Korean haha! When I make it on my own at hone, my rolls are usually 60/40 filling to rice. I highly recommend the tuna, because it has perilla leaves which adds a slight spiciness and really complements the fish. The kimchi is definitely great too, if you like kimchi. And there's no way you can go wrong with the beef. The bulgogi was well marinated and the other fillings were delicious too! The yukaejang was pretty good. Nice and spicy! Lots of vegetables and meat, too! I just wish the meat had tasted a little more fresh. Banchan was great! I got kimchi and pickled jalapeño and onion! Yum! Sorry my picture isn't the best. I did carry out and was starving, so put food on my plate before taking pics.
