I had an amazing experience at Kim Jong Grillin! The food was incredibly fresh and absolutely delicious. The wrap I ordered was packed with flavor and so much food for the price—it was more than worth it. Great value, excellent quality, and a must-visit spot. Highly recommend!

I am so impressed with this place - we absolutely loved everything here. We got the bulgogi bowls, a chicken wrap, and the loaded fries with spicy chicken. Good ingredients, great flavor, and happy staff. The wrap was so big my mom couldn't finish it. The bowls are definitely enough for 2 people. The prices are fantastic too. Love to have a new restaurant in the area, I hope they do well!

Place was great overall, it's different than I remember from past locations (in terms of the menu) but the food is just as flavorful and high quality as ever. The service was great the people seemed cool and happy to be there. The inside is nice and clean with cool movie and anime posters all over the walls and a bunch of large scale vintage transformers toys lined up around the ceiling. Plenty of seating for what it is I think. Definitely recommend.

Sooo good! I got fried chicken fries and galbi bimbimbap (sp?). The food was pretty near perfect. Chicken was crispy and juicy, fries were perfectly cooked, extra crispy, the egg on the bimbimbap, perfectly funny, and the ribs were the best thing of all. The guy that was working, BJ, was so friendly he changed my mood, I was not having a great day. Go

I've been going to their food cart for years. I was very excited to hear about this location opening as it is close to my work. The food is great and the inside is really coming along. Try it out you won't be disappointed.

The bibim box with bulgogi and KBBQ fries with spicy chicken were excellent. So glad this is nearby, will definitely be back to try their other dishes. 🙂 Revisit: came back for the k-chop salad and the fried chicken with rice cakes, which were amazing. The salad is very large and filling!

This place is so good. I wish we lived closer but thankfully it's by our doctor and vet so we come in for each appt! Makes the appointments SO worth it for this reward. Food so good that it should be illegal. KFC bowl and bibimbap are 10/10. So is everything else.

I could die happy eating here for the rest of my life. Seriously the best fusion of Korean food and inventive new ideas. We had a crunch wrap, a bibimbowl, and kimchi fried rice. Also tried the tteokbokki and it made our tastebuds sing. Large portions on the BiBimBowl too! Addicting. Try it, seriously.

Delicious Korean fusion! I came here with one of my friends for dinner after seeing it on Tiktok and we both loved it. Here, their menu is pretty diverse with lots of fun twists on Korean classics. You order at the counter and once the food is done, it is brought out to your table. Service is pretty quick. My friend and I ordered the bulgogi bibimbap and the KBBQ fries with chicken. The portions were absolutely massive. I loved all of the veggies and the generous portions of meat in the bibimbap. For the fries, they were saucy and delicious to eat. I absolutely had a great time here and I would come back to try their other menu items.

MADD luv for HAN and his first brick and mortar!!! Finally had to check out for myself if all HYPE Elevated casual food with the Korean SWERVE!!! If u know u know!! Definitely something you gotta try!! A little something for everyone!! So creative and out of pocket but definitely highly recommend to try!!

A mix of traditional Korean cuisine along with the owner's Korean twist on some traditional American Fast Food favorites (see Munchwrap). So good!! Will definitely be coming back soon to try out more menu items! Wonderful service, and if you or your kiddos are interested in anything Transformers related, the restaurant has over 20 of the OG Transformers decorating the interior. Brought me back to when I was 7 years old and owned several of these toys!!

Fun little Korean restaurant just a couple minutes past the mall. Both the fries and the KFC bowl were super tasty and hit the spot. I'd never been here before so the cashier was super nice and walked me through the menu, which was super helpful.

It was close to closing by the time we arrive and they were only doing take out. The food was decent and would return back to try other items on the menu. Definitely recommend the Munchwrap.

This spot has been on my list for ages, finally made a stop. I came here for a late lunch/early dinner. I got their bibimbox, munchwrap and kbbq fries. The bibimbap had a mix of rice and japchae on the bottom, with lots of veggies on the top and a nice fried egg. Flavor was good and I liked the gochujang sauce to mix it in. The munchwrap that everyone talks about was okay. It's a nice rendition of the Taco Bell version, better quality ingredients and love the fusion idea, but didn't have much flavor. The spicy salsa did help but other than that it's okay. The KBBQ fries, I picked the fried chicken. Definitely wasn't a favorite for what we ordered. The fries were seasoned, just the toppings didn't work for me. The spot is a little hidden, but there's adequate parking. Food comes out quickly, staff are friendly. The food here is affordable, but I think everything tastes ok. The best thing I would say is the bibimbox they offer from what I've tried.

It's obviously not your traditional Korean dishes but they do have a hot take on the fast food meals we know and frequently indulge. I had ordered the munchwrap with bulgogi which is their take Tacobell's crunchwrap Supreme while my friend ordered their KFC Bowl which is their take on KFC's famous bowls I definitely felt less guilty eating their munchwrap versus tacobell's. The ingredients are fresh and the bulgogi is so good. The portion is huge that I found myself just eating half and saving the other half for dinner. My friend liked their KFC especially as it's Korean Fried Chicken and not Kentucky. The mashed potatoes were creamy and surprisingly didn't make the chicken too soggy. The fries were also a good addition to munch on especially paired with their sauces.

The munchwrap was legit the best thing I've had in a long time. It was savory from the cheese skirt, crunch from the chip inside, juicy from the bulgogi, pickled radishes, and kimchi, and fresh from the lettuce. Every bite was the perfect bite! The spicy salsa was perfect with each bite. I got a fried chicken with rice cakes, bibim box, and hanold to go and the family loved every bite! Food was quick and everyone was friendly! Lots of seating to enjoy your meal. Go and get yourself the whole menu. You won't be sorry!

when i got here, i was informed that were were only doing take out orders as they were going to close for a lunch break for an hour at 4pm. i asked if they normally do so so i would know for future visit - they typically try to give their employees an hour lunch break between 3-5pm, depending on how busy it gets. so i recommend giving them a call before heading there around those times! the interior of the restaurant seem clean and i love the decor inside. transformer figurines, anime, and kdrama posters plastered everywhere! we got the bulgogi smasher because we've seen videos online showing this specific item on the menu. it looked sooo good in the videos and tastes even better in person! it was a sweet and savory type of smasher but more on the sweet side the more you ate it. for a bomb smasher + fries and sauce for $14??? absolutely reasonable in my opinion and i cant wait to go back to order it again!

Bigger and better than Taco Bell's Crunch wrap Supreme. Generous portions and bursting with flavor. Bibim Box w/Spicy Chicken (5/5): Fresh and tasty ingredients. The "spicy" is from gojuchang, which, isn't that spicy. It was a generic Bibimbap bowl but hit all the right spots. Service (Not Rated): - Decent. We bussed our own tables. Ambiance (Not Rated): - This is a small place with maybe 8 tables. (It's definitely better seating than a food cart.) Background: My wife has been telling me about this place for awhile and we went to eat lunch there today.

Kim Jong Grillin' has attained brick and mortar level! Han Ly Hwang has been creating Korean comfort food based on his family recipes in Portland from food carts we love for many years. The Happy Valley restaurant is informal, place your order at the counter, they will bring it, ceramic bowls, chopsticks and metal utensils, and then it is self-busing. What is new is a much larger brand new kitchen. I had the classic bibimbap with bulgogi. My latest discovery is bulgogi is based on pear flavoring! It is a big bowl, you could split it, or take home leftovers. It had cabbage and daikon kim chi, grated carrot, rice noodles, rice, lettuce, sprouts, the sunny side up egg, and your choice of meat or vegetarian protein. The Happy Valley menu is bigger than the Portland Park Blocks menu, and includes kid-pleasers like individualistic K-burgers and potato fries. While I was there some good friends arrived with their excited 8 and 9 year olds! They are just opening, so they need to work on their beverages and we hope brown rice comes back. The larger kitchen makes specials possible, and they do catering. Happy Valley is one of those housing development miracles with homes carved from the Mt Hood foothills surrounding Happy Valley Center. The Center has several buildings, you should be able to navigate on your handheld device. There is ample parking. Over Kim Jong Grillin's time Han has supported our little food ecosystem, feeding out-of-work restaurant workers, promoting better restaurant practices, and bringing his food cart downtown to the Park Blocks near Powells to contribute to our central city recovery. I'm looking forward to tasting more of the new incarnation of solid state brick and mortar Kim Jong Grillin' unfolding!

Delicious food, i got the fried chicken. I was hoping for wings but these chicken bites were great. I think they were white meat, however they were not dry. Order rice with your chicken otherwise the sauce can be a little too much. Open dining room. Clean.

Went to meet up with family, and we all got different (ish) things. The burger was pretty good, great char and filling. Two of us got the Kbbq fries, spicy chicken, and bulgogi. The chicken again had a great char. It was soft and so good. The beef was also soft. Both variations worked so well. The drink selection is sort of lacking, BUT they just opened, so totally giving a pass. The food came out in the appropriate time for them cooking each piece. The staff was super nice and helpful. It is a nice shopping center with plenty of parking. The seating is open, and you just pick a spot. It was great, if I'm in the area totally going back.

Wow! I mean, just wow! The food is outstanding. The clever fusion with American "fast food" is genius. The food is from scratch, made to order but uses popular food from Taco Bell (Munchwrap instead of Crunchwrap Supreme) and KFCs bowls. The results are delicious. Service is counter ordering and the staff is friendly and fun to talk to. The place has Korean anime and movie posters on the walls that show they have great taste (Akima).

You can't treat customers poorly and expect to stay in business. I arrived at the Happy Valley location at 6:45, but they weren't taking orders. The manager informed me they weren't taking orders because he had to give his cook a break. I asked if they were closed, and he said they weren't, but weren't taking orders. He didn't apologize or offer any other information. I was confused and upset, so I left. The customer behind me asked how long it would be until they resumed taking orders, but the manager couldn't provide an answer and repeated that he needed to give his cook a break. This was a horrible and disappointing experience. It's clear they're overworking their employees. Hopefully, they'll resolve this issue soon, or this will be another failed restaurant in the location.

Great place for Korean food with American twists! Food was fresh cooked, healthy, delicious and came in generous portions. Fun Asiany atmosphere, neat and clean with plenty of seating. Great service too. Really enjoyed the Bibimbap with bulgogi, pictured here. Definitely will be coming back!

Everything was delicious!! This was my first time to try Kim Jong Grillin' after seeing it on Instagram. My family ordered 3 to-go items to share and thoroughly enjoyed all of them. The flavors varied between items, making for a fun exploration of the menu. The staff were friendly and the restaurant is well-lit and spacious. I'd love to eat in next time!

Many items in the menu. Same menu for lunch and dinner. Food is good. Service is good. Food comes out fast. Price is reasonable! You can have a meal for under $20.

The portion size is pretty good. However it's very salty. I have ordered bibimbap, but it was really salty and had to bring it back home and put more rice in it. All the ingredients were good just the portion is a bit off. People working there is nice and kind.

We have been here twice now and the food is always so delicious!! The service is always great. We met Han the owner and he was super nice as well, even came to our table to check on us and chat for a bit. We have tried the munchwrap w/ fried chicken, bibimbop bowl w/ bulgogi, the bugogi smash burger, the fries and side of kimchi. All so worth it and the kimchi was my favorite kimchi I've had!! You gotta try this place!

Went in for my second time today. First time had the munchwrap, it was so good and filling. I stole my wife's gojuchang sauce to add some spice. Came back again today while doing keto and had a salad. Not sure why it's called a salad it has so much good stuff in it. Nothing like any salads I have had before. I left full and wanting to come back again tomorrow. Hoping to try the bulgogi burger soon but so far nothing has been anything less than amazing here. Only wish they had a better drink selection but doing great for a new restaurant.

Fried chicken and rice cake given Seoul street food, and that's the best thing ever!! The burger was a staff recommendation and OMG so glad we listened!! Restaurant was super clean and if you get cold easy bring a sweatshirt! We will be back to try the rest of the menu. Thank you!!!

Just go and give it a shot; it's spectacular food, friendly people, and a sick painting on the wall. What more do you want? Jesus, Derek, just go. Worst case scenario you pick up a Hanold McDonald and it's 100 times better than what you were going to make for dinner anyway.

Decided to try this place after seeing a news story on Korean Mama food reviews. Excited to see it's in Happy Valley. We stopped in for a late lunch and ordered a bulgogi munch wrap. Huge! More than big enough for my husband and I to share. Interesting mix of ingredients and it was delicious. Will definitely come back to try other things from their menu. Yum.

Best food in the Portland metro area. I cannot take you serious as a human being if you haven't had a munch wrap or a Bibimbap box. Us OG Kim Jong grillin customers love the food truck but the Happy Valley location is so sick. The amount of food you get for the money is unheard of in this day and age. Worth every GD penny. Go support this amazing food.
