NYC New Restaurant Openings, August 2025 | Eater NY

"A fast-casual Korean venture specializing in two rice-based classics: kimbap (seaweed-wrapped finger food) and bibimbap (bowls with various toppings), from Seoul native Jonghwi Lim, who formerly cooked at NYC standouts like Osamil and Jongro." - Nadia Chaudhury

Kim & Bob Shop - Review - Hell's Kitchen - New York - The Infatuation

"We’ve seen a few new fast-casual Korean restaurants popping up lately, and the latest is Kim & Bob Shop in Hell’s Kitchen. As this inspired name implies, they sell kimbap and bibimbap. You can build your own rolls or bowls with things like bulgogi, gochujang sauce, danmuji, and kimchi, but they also have pre-made options, which start at $10. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Will Hartman

This Kimbop spot in New York City is an absolute culinary treasure, delivering a quick meal experience that sets a new standard for freshness and flavor. For those unfamiliar, Kimbop is a Korean classic, often resembling a savory, cooked seaweed roll, and this place executes it with genius precision. The star of our meal, the Keto Kimbop with Jeyuk (spicy pork), was nothing short of absolutely amazing. It perfectly substitutes the traditional rice with a vibrant, thinly shredded egg base, making it incredibly light yet supremely satisfying—a fantastic option for anyone watching carbs, or just seeking an exceptionally fresh roll. The bold, well-seasoned Jeyuk filling provides a delightful kick of sweet and spicy heat, balanced beautifully by crisp vegetables, resulting in an unforgettable textural and flavor profile that will thrill both seasoned Korean food lovers and curious first-timers. We also recommend the doenjang soup, it pairs really well with kimbop. Tteokbokki was also very delicious, not too spicy, mild enough for everyone. Come check this place out. It is a small place, so ideal for takeouts. Highly recommend!

This place was amazing. Everything tasted great and fresh and the bimibap had lots of variety. Really great you can build your bowl with lots of interesting ingredients like roasted burdock. The Ssa sauce was fantastic and the soup was comforting and had delicious tofu and vegetables. Was craving fresh vegetables and protein and this place hit the spot! They have a keto option. The service was great too and helped me assemble the exact bowl I wanted, answering all of my questions. Food was fast too. Highly recommend

Best kimbap takeaway in NYC! There are two stools to eat in if you prefer. I’ve tried all of the kimbap, the soups, the mandoo 😍😍😍 I bring my own takeaway containers to reduce my single-use plastic and am never disappointed. Fresh and affordable - how can you beat it? 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Jeyuk gimbap and tteokbokki were amazing! There’s a small table that only 2 people can sit at and mostly take out. The food was very authentic and run by a Korean owner. I want to visit again! 😍

I liked the food but the bibimbap specifically was a bit heartless. I feel like it did not come together coherently even with the sauce and the meats were a little stiff. And the staff was not too knowledgeable about the different kimchis or tofu things… I wish they could have guided me in my personalisation of the plate especially once noticed i was a bit clueless. The price is alright for manhattan but there is no seat inside, max 2 ppl. I would go back to try the wrap tho as i have seen great reviews for that!

The food was so delicious! It had a great range of traditional and modern kimbap/bibimbap so it’s easy to find something you like, plus you can customize if you want. I especially loved their Tuna Avocado kimbap with the creamy wasabi sauce~

Google
Phenomenal Build-Your-Own Korean Fast Food! If you're looking for delicious, customizable, and quick Korean food, this place is an absolute must-try! I ordered the Bibimbap with Tofu, and it was genuinely awesome. The customizable format is fantastic—you get to choose your base (like rice), veggies, sauce, and protein. It makes it easy to get exactly what you're craving. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, and the flavors were perfectly balanced.

Best kimbap I’ve had in New York. I ordered tuna avocado, spicy pork, chicken kimbap, and tteokbokki. Everything was sooo delicious, especially the tuna avocado kimbap. Great quality for the price and the place is clean and comfortable. Definitely want to come back.

Yelp
I'm very pleased to see a new takeout option in Hell's Kitchen, especially one offering Korean cuisine. It's often difficult to find restaurants in the area that serve dishes like kimbap or bibimbap. While the menu isn't extensive, I really appreciate the ability to customize your own kimbap or bibimbap. The food was flavorful and served in generous portions. I especially liked the abundance of fresh vegetables, which suits my current preference for more plant-based meals, though the meat portion was also quite satisfying. The overall quality and taste were excellent. Additionally, the cashier was incredibly kind and patient, answering all of my questions and offering a recommendation that matched my taste perfectly. The location is also very convenient to my workplace, which makes it an even better find.

Yelp
I'm beyond thrilled to have finally found a spot in Hell's Kitchen serving authentic Kimbap and Tteokbokki! From the moment we walked in, the owner greeted us warmly, offering not just great service but thoughtful explanations of the menu. We tried: * OH JEYUK Kimbap * TUNA AVOCADO Kimbap * KIM'S CHICKEN Kimbap * O.G TTEOKBOKKI The Kimbap had the perfect balance of fresh vegetables, savory proteins, and flavorful sauces, wrapped together in complete harmony. The extra dipping sauce? A total game-changer The Tteokbokki was spot on--the rice cakes were perfectly chewy, and the sauce hit that magical balance of spicy, sweet, and addictive I'll definitely be coming back to explore the rest of the menu. This place is a gem for Korean street food cravings in the heart of Manhattan!

Yelp
Great contribution to our neighborhood! Very friendly owner Very clean and quick! Reasonably prices and combos I ordered the Cheez bulgogi kimbap minus the cheese (so I can share with my lactose intolerant BF) and made it a combo For an extra $4 you can make any bowl or kimbap a combo which allows you to select a drink of your choice, and either soup, seaweed or a yak gwa donut (chocolate or coconut) Hours are 11:30 am-9:30 pm
