We ordered the stone bowl beef bibimbap which was absolutely delicious! We got a matcha tea and blueberry yoghurt drink to accompany and I have to say their drinks are totally worth it! The staff is incredibly welcoming and attentive! Kudus to the person doing waiter/cashier/cook role all at the same time! Lovely experience!

- Vegetarian Ramen: Rich, flavorful broth with fresh veggies and chewy noodles. - Chicken Dumplings: Savory filling with a perfect tangy dipping sauce. - Spam Egg and Rice Sandwich: Unique and delicious fusion of crispy spam, egg, and rice. - Overall: Delicious food, generous portions, excellent service. Highly recommend!

I’ve always loved eating Korean food here, but now they’ve added bubble tea to their menu — and it’s amazing! Their drinks are so good, even better than most coffee shops I’ve tried. I highly recommend this place. Definitely one of the best spots I’ve ever been to!

Aynagul Sheralieva

Google
The best Korean restaurant in Chicago! I lived in Korea for a long time, so I know what real Korean food should taste like — and this place nails it. They recently added bubble teas, fruit teas, matcha, and smoothies to the menu, and everything is absolutely delicious. Highly recommend it to everyone!

Google
great for groups or solo. self-serve side dish bar, take out and dine in and limited dinner hours only (5-9 pm) but totally worth the wait for authentic tasty diverse Korean meals! Bathroom could be better. Tv with K-pop playlist is fun. Street parking only. Have come here twice already and is my go-to for Korean food in neighborhood. Prices so reasonable for portion sizes! Tried rib-eye beef platter, and hot bulgogi, japchae noodles with chicken, and spam rolled sushi (although last two dishes were not dry). My friend loved her fried rice and dumplings!

Google
This is hands down the best Korean restaurant in Chicago! They recently added bubble tea drinks😍, and they are absolutely amazing. I highly recommend this place to everyone. I’m now a regular customer!

Google
They have the best bubble tea! I’ve never tried drinks like this anywhere else. So delicious that I keep wanting to come back. Highly recommend! 🧋

Yelp
Small Korean-Fusion spot location near montrose between Uptown and Buena Park. I believe it is BYOB, but there are not many dine-in tables inside. For the most part, it seems like a delivery or pick-up spot. The food is decent. Portions are fine and flavors are what one can expect. There are better options if you walk a few blocks north, but it's worth visiting if you are in a pinch!

Yelp
We regularly get together with my mother-in-law on Sundays in the Uptown area and figured to branch out and see what else there was other than our usuals. Funny enough, Kimchi Pop! has already been open for two years and we've already gone to some other restaurants nearby. Maybe I wrote it off since we have a Korean standby though farther away. So we figured to give it a try for convenience. It's a counter order arrangement and you bus your own tables, but there is a self-serve choice of four banchan provided for dine-in and a hot/cold water station. Dine in is on real plates and utensils rather than disposable-ware. We went with the kimbap ($13.99, spam +$3), stone bowl bibimbap (pork) - $15.99, soondubu (seafood) $14.50, and scallion pancake (seafood) - $12.99. Food is great and it was good to have the kimbap once with spam (thinking about another form of spam musubi, which is also on the menu). Stone bowl isn't going to be as hot to crisp rice, but I'm not sure that's a full star ding - so just go with regular bibimbap for $13.99. It still would have been good with another choice of filling without the surcharge. Keep in mind there is a 4% non-cash surcharge and meter parking is relatively available (at least on a Saturday night). Portions and quality were good to balance to the price and convenience. You'd get more banchan elsewhere and maybe lower prices, but you'd probably have to drive farther and tip up for service. Nice touch with dark chocolate choco pie at the end of the meal!

Yelp
Great Korean food in uptown!! About 3 or 4 tables to dine in. Went between lunch and dinner rush; our meal was prepared fresh and was nice and hot. Would definitely recommend this spot! Try it out!!!

Yelp
I have some authentic Korean food and it is quickly served. I do recommend for either dine in or takeout

Yelp
Ok - first time here and did a take out order. I think it was decent but by no means the best Korean I've ever had. Given that there's not many Korean options in this immediate area, this will do for now, but I wouldn't come out of my way for this place. I was expecting a little more more flavor out of the bulgogi plate with rice. Overall a solid 7/10 I'd say.

Yelp
Had a really delicious dinner here before grabbing a show at My Buddies the other night. It's a humble and warm dining area with really wonderful staff. Plenty of options, quick service, portions for some to take with you. Also, an amazing little pickle and kimchi bar included. Will be back!

Yelp
5 stars across the board. The food was delicious and the service was fantastic. The owner came multiple times to check in on us and even gave a free dessert at the end of our meal. Highly recommend checking out this spot!

Yelp
We had an amazing lunch at Kimchi Pop! The owner was so kind and welcoming to us. The food was amazing. It was fun to watch the k-pop videos too!

Yelp
We were so sad to move away from the original kimchi pop location on Ashland... and then excited to find out there was another location around the corner from us! The food is just as good as the original location. We love the rice cakes. The dumplings and fried rice are also good. I'm a seafood pancake girl so definitely raised an eyebrow when my husband ordered the kimchi one ... but it was good! Fast causal just like the original and they are on doordash too.

Yelp
As a vegetarian, I loved that this menu had clearly marked vegetarian options, something you don't always get at Asian restaurants. I had the Duk Bokki which was spicy/sweet. Maybe almost too over the top with flavor - that's just my personal taste. But I've always wanted to try it, so I'm glad I did. I had the small portion which was more than enough for me! I would definitely like to come back and try more. It's a small and simple place. Good for a quick meal. I had to ask them to turn down the volume on the tv as it was very loud initially.

Yelp
I was actually attempting to go to another restaurant on this street but it was closed so I popped in here instead. REALLY great food. The kimchi fried rice was impressive as well as the noodle dish I got. Everything was made on the spot (expect a little wait) but it was really incredible. Portions are generous and the staff were very friendly. Will definitely be returning

Yelp
Have always walked pass this place and my girlfriend and I decided today was the day to check it out! I've not had much Korean cuisine in my life but boy is that going to change from now on. I got the chef specialty and my girlfriend got the ramen. 12/10!!! So delicious and flavorful! Owner was also so kind and wonderful. Can't wait to go back and can't recommend Kimchi Pop enough!

Yelp
I soooo wanted to give this more stars. I ordered delivery. The duck-guk soup with bulgogi was tasty, the dumplings were really good. I got one order steamed and another fried. The fried were just like my umma would make...steamed first and then lightly pan fried. I also got the chicken bibimbop which was also very tasty. The reason for the low stars.... I ordered the kimchee pancake and it was so burnt..it was literally charred and black. They didn't give a s**t and cut that up, packed it up and sent it to me. It was inedible. It's one thing if it was undercooked and they couldn't tell, or if an item was missing by mistake. But this was something they could clearly see was so burned and it speaks volumes that they just don't care about their customers and sent this out for delivery anyways.

Yelp
Ordered a Chicken Bibimbop. Chicken was cold and rubbery. Small portion of chicken also. Go to Del Seoul instead, you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Such a cute Cozy Korean restaurant. Having BTS music video playing in their TV. Not a huge fan of the group but I thought it was a cute touch to match the restaurant name. Food was amazing. Seafood pancake and the cheese dakgalbi were my favorite. The seafood soup was good too. Service was great, it was fast and efficient with friendly crew. Chef Son was amazing, he even check in with us checking how was the food. Place is clean and inviting.

Yelp
I love the bibimbap bowl, japchae is also great. My boyfriend got the Ddeokbokki and loved it too. Everything is delicious and this is a go-to spot for me to get dinner from when I don't want to cook.

Yelp
Best kimchi pancake I've had so far in the city! Very small dining area, really mostly meant for take out. But we sat down and had their free banchan, and watched K-pop videos on their TV while we had great kimchi pancakes and a hot tofu stew, though I wish the egg was raw vs. hard boiled. Good local Korean place if you're craving hot soondobu on the cold winter nights! Be patient with the food, looks like they are made to order and we had to wait for a bit, but service is friendly and attentive if you need something.

Yelp
Small Korean shop with popular Korean dishes. I got the pork bulgogi and my partner had the steak bulgogi. Both were delicious! Lots of sauce which I liked and a little kimchi bar. Friendly service as well! Definitely nice for a quiet bite with a friend.

Yelp
Bad food, we ordered 2 dishes and it was poorly made. Do not recommend Service is ok Ambiance no

Yelp
Everything was delicious here. We tried the kimchi stew, scallion pancake, and dumplings. Can't wait to try everything else on the menu.

Yelp
First time ordering from Kimchipop. Pretty good. Got the beef and vegetable and steamed veggie dumplings. Fast and delish. Thanks, Kimchipop!

Yelp
Such yummy food in a cute little spot. We could hear the chef preparing our meal, and then once we got our food, he came out to check on us and to see how it was. Their menu is very well labeled if you have a dietary restriction, and there is plenty for vegans, vegetarians, and people who are gluten free. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
This was absolutely the slowest service that I have ever had in a walk-up restaurant in Chicago. There were only two individuals in the whole restaurant, ordering in front of us and we ordered for a group of four people. They told us it would be 20 minute wait, And then they came out and told us it would be longer, so we said we needed it to go. After 45 minutes, I had left hungry and had to leave my friends there.

Yelp
Saw the lights for this place after leaving yoga in the evening. I never knew it was here. I got super excited because I love Korean food! The restaurant is cute inside. I watched K-pop videos while waiting for my take out of beef bibimbap. The flavor was good and the ingredients were fresh. I'll definitely be back to dine in. I'm so happy to have it close to home.

AcupunctureCenter C.

Yelp
The location is very convenient from me to pick up. The person who took my order has good understanding on their menu and all the ingredients. Food here is just good from fun snack to satisfying dinner.

De'Quad B.

Yelp
One of my favorite comfort food spots in uptown. The ramen with any protein is amazing! Plus you get a ton of good for the price, usually enough for me to have leftovers.

Yelp
I wish I could say better for this place but I'm not going to lie- I was pretty disappointed. My friend and I came for carryout and I got the Bibimbop with Beef and she got the Bibimbop with tofu. While the food was just decent (The bean sprouts looked a bit dead in terms of color but taste alright), the service is where I have a lot to say. They had banchan in the middle of the restaurant (which also was empty when I got there) and I went up to the girl at the cashier for them to refill for us to take takeaway. Banchan is a staple at Korean restaurants no matter takeaway or dine-in so I thought it would be a no brainer for us to be able to to enjoy at home. Not at KimchiPop though- it's for dine-ins only. When I got home, I realized my bibimbop also did not come with gochujang for it. Without the gochujang, it can't be bibimbop. My friend's did so not sure if they wanted us to share(?) but overall disappointed in my experience. I get that Covid did a number, but skimping on things like this is very disappointing as consumers who just want a smooth pick-up/carryout/dine-in experience. I wish they would have raised prices instead as I just left the establishment with a bad taste in my mouth. I can't say I'd like to give this place another try.

Yelp
Finally we have Korean food in our area! I had the special kim bob w/ beef and spicy seafood noodle soup (jam the bong). Good solid Korean food. Welcome to the neighborhood.
google avatar

Emily M.

Yelp
Was so excited for a bibimbop place to open near my home. I shared the tofu bibimbop, tofu Korean curry, and the seafood pancakes with my husband, and we just remarked how great it all is. Yay! Also a tip is you currently need to call in your order.

Yelp
A hidden gem, such amazing food and wonderful staff! Can't wait to order takeout from here again!
google avatar

Selena J.

Yelp
I've gone here several times for carryout, and not only is everything soooo delicious, but the customer service is truly outstanding. There's such a welcoming atmosphere here!

Jeff M.

Yelp
Have tried to order from here twice. Walked in the first time. Woman behind the counter said hi and then started talking to someone in the kitchen while leisurely starting and stopping the packing of other orders. Waited and waited, she didn't come back or say one minute...nothing, so I left. Called to place a phone order tonight, and the woman on the phone sighs when I state that I would like to place a takeout order. Ask if the ribeye bulgogi comes with some kimchi on the side, she tells me no, that it is a separate order for "$2 or something". I asked if she could clarify the or something and waited for her to get back to me that it was $2. Bulgogi without kimchi?? The dish is $16.99, if adding a small bit of fermented cabbage hurt the food costs, raise the price a buck or two to cover. Will continue the hunt for a Korean restaurant, wouldn't recommend this one.

Hannah D.

Yelp
Had SUCH a great dinner here. Food and service was phenomenal. Absolutely would recommend for a friendly, cozy, and delicious meal!!!

Kyle P.

Yelp
Ordered Musubi and Bibimbap with beef. Excited for new food options around the Uptown area!

Robin H.

Yelp
New place in Uptown, tried out the bibimbap and it was great! Quick service, delicious and nice staff. Will be back to check out their other offerings.
