"Kimchi Red is known for their perfectly crispy Korean fried chicken, which is all halal. Owner Joy Lee and the team make all their toppings and sauces in-house and fry up perfectly juicy and crisp chicken that packs quite a punch on texture and flavor. "While Alpharetta isn’t too far from the many Korean restaurants found along Buford Highway and nearby cities like Duluth, Kimchi Red has become a go-to for bulgogi and its must-eat Korean fried chicken. Order a trio of galbi tacos or a batch of crispy Korean smoked wings. For Korean fried chicken, order a whole or half bird with sauce options like tomatillo, spicy sweet chili pepper, or smothered in tomato and alfredo sauce. Don’t forget to grab some kimchi fried rice." - Alex Leo-Guerra

"Kimchi Red has become a go-to for Korean fried chicken in the northern burbs, including for batches of crispy Korean smoked wings. For folks who love heat, order a whole or half Korean fried chicken in spicy sauce options like sweet chili pepper. Or try the KFC here done Mal-La-style tossed in Sichuan sauce and garnished with peppercorns and cilantro. Be sure to also order a side of kimchi fried rice." - Mike Jordan

I have come here a few times here with family and honestly this might be our new top favorite place for Crispy Korean Fried Chicken. The Spicy Soy Garlic flavor is my favorite but if you can’t handle Thai chilies, might want to opt for a milder flavor. The ‘Snow Cheese’ flavor is a new one I’ve tried (both from here and at another Korean Fried Chicken spot) and tastes like a mild, slightly salty, and sweet cheese powder. It’s a MUST for us to get the Kimchi fried rice and K - Mega Fries every time we dine-in. This place has the best kimchi fried rice out of all the places I have tried in GA. There’s a counter in the back to grab tap water, to-go boxes, napkins, and utensils. Bottled drinks & soda products can be found near the counter for purchase. Will visit again 💛

When first entering there was a guy that came in that was a regular. He was met with hey Scott and had his order already ready. Service was great. The cashier even gave a tour of the menu and explained everything from flavors to plates to drinks. I ordered the chicken plate and a side of kimchi rice. The chicken was 30 dollars but it’s the whole chicken as it’s supposed to feed up to 3 people. You can get it with or without bones. I decided to get it boneless. The meal came in stages. The first stages: this is pretty good. The second: Oh I’m getting kind of full. Third: my stomach is definitely not agreeing with this I can feel it brewing. The fourth: I’m definitely going to have to poop after this. I do recommend getting the Chicken with bones as the boneless chicken doesn’t stay hot long. Although it was seasoned well and I was wondering what piece of meat I was eating. It was like a roulette of pieces like am I getting breast wing or thigh meat. The texture kind of threw me off as well. I’m used to kfc being crunchy but I guess the sauce wouldn’t adhere well with it. The kimchi rice was good and was served with an egg on top. Full of flavor but a little spice. They don’t have fountain drinks but they do have complimentary water. Overall I appreciated the visit but I found more pleasure in trying the food than the actual food. Not saying that the food was bad, but not enough of an impression to have me craving it for future visits.

This place is busy even during a hurricane outside. I enjoyed my chicken as tenders and now believe them to be the best chicken tenders I have ever eaten. Perfect amount of spice/heat(I chose spicy/medium, which was the middle selection.) I had the Cheesy Buldak, and as someone who always feels the need to add sauce to anything, this dish came as creamy and saucy as I could have dreamed for. The cashier/server, very well could have been the owner with as helpful, welcoming, and kind as she was. She followed up once I got my food and made sure the spice level was good, and made her pitch for another dish I should try the next time I visit. I was impressed. This place isn’t huge, the speed of the food was reasonable, and the cost is justified with the quality and taste! Highly recommend for any chicken lover. Add: enjoyed second visit tonight! Took my wife and friend and every dish was amazing! Warning: if you ask for spicy/hot, it will be spicy/hot. They don’t miss! Love this place!

Google
We tried Kimchi Red, and overall, the food was great! We enjoyed our meal, but it’s not a place we feel the need to revisit. It’s one of those spots where you go, try it once, and check it off your list. The restaurant itself is very small, and we did have to wait for a table. The tables are also quite close together, which can make it feel a bit cramped. While the food was enjoyable, nothing really stood out enough to bring us back.

I have fallen in love with this place. The chicken is perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and generously coated in flavorful sauces. The portion sizes are great for sharing, the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the staff are super friendly and attentive. Whether you’re dining in or taking out, the quality is consistent. Highly recommend this spot for anyone craving authentic Korean fried chicken! As you can see from my plate, it’s all gone!

Decided to try this place on a Monday evening around 6pm. I had passed by a couple of times on the weekend and saw that they were always busy, so I decided they must be pretty good! The chicken was made to order, arrived at my table hot, fresh and the presentation was great. I ordered the Snow Cheese and my friend ordered the Kang-Nam. I thoroughly enjoyed it! Service was good. Parking was not an issue. The establishment was clean. I will definitely return!

We came on 9/9/23 and this past Friday. I didn’t get a chance to post photos from last year but here they are! Last time we got Mal-La Korean fried chicken and asked for sauce on side. We also got the kimchi fried rice. Delicious! We had to come back a second time because it was so good the first time. We got Honey Butter Pepper korean fried chicken. The kids loved it but it a little too sweet for the adults. Got the kimchi fried rice again, Red Buldak, Rose-Bokki. Everything was yummy!

I was very satisfied with the special sauce and ideas. I was impressed by the Korean town as large as Los Angeles. It was located in a very clean new building and was delicious. I was impressed because the manager was so kind. I strongly recommend it.

Yelp
E X P E R I E N C E We came as a party of two on a Saturday afternoon around 1230pm. There were 4 other couples in the restaurant. F O O D honey butter medium: k-crispies topped with fresh onions in a refreshing yogurt sauce garnished with red seasoning and parsley K-mega fries: krispy french fries top with stir fried kimchi, BBQ jeyuk, homemade mounted cheese and sprinkled with tomatillo, onions and cilantro Wow. Just wow. The honey flavor was so tasty (although next time I'd definitely try something else.. the chefs secret maybe hehe). The chicken breading was so light but crunchy. The fries were incredible- loaded but light?! The veg on top helped balance the heaviness of the mayo sauce. The fries itself was also perfectly meaty but crunchy. Kimchi red is truly a master at fried foods. S E A T I N G Theres a lot of 2 and 4 seaters. The restaurant is small so for parties bigger than 4 that want to sit, I'd call ahead of time to coordinate. S E R V I C E Get your food yourself once they call you, after ordering. Polite, friendly. Clean your own table! (I didn't know until after I paid and saw other guests cleaning). P R I C E $34 + tax tip = 50

Yelp
Delicious, saucy, massive pieces of juicy chicken. But I wish you could do a half order (1 serving). I think it's pretty pricey as well, but worth a try. I like that they have a little refrigerator of Asian drinks! Located in a little strip mall, so there is some parking. I came in on a weekday late in the afternoon and it was not busy but it took a long while for the food to come out. Once I started eating, more people rolled through closer to dinner time, so I could imagine parking might become difficult. The music was also blaring, like I was next to the speaker at a concert, so I didn't quite appreciate that. Overall, it was fine. Worth a try, but hard to convince me to drive through traffic and $$$ for me

Yelp
WINNER WINNER? KIMCHI RED FRIED CHICKEN DINNER | Yelp says this is the best fried chicken spot in the US?? Ok bet. I actually visited when it first opened and thought it was pretty good, although it appears we didn't order the popular fried chicken stack that others around us were ordering. We decided on something a little lighter - the galbi plate and the Korean fried chicken plate (with hot and spicy yang yum sauce). Both were excellent - the chicken was perfectly fried and the plates were hearty and fairly priced. Comes with rice, kimchi and japchae. On our next visit, we decided to try their popular fried chicken - half or whole. We ordered the Kimchi since it was the first on the menu and also the "Chef's Pick". While we were waiting at our table in the corner/against the wall, we ended up having to move tables because the music was so damn loud. There is absolutely no reason the music in a restaurant should be that loud on a Tuesday afternoon at 2pm. I was feeling nauseous from the vibrating walls that I was leaning against. I didn't want to be a Karen and ask them to turn the music down but geez. Looks like it has been a recurring problem in the past so hopefully they have fixed it by now. It took a while but I figured they were frying it to order. It came out in a gloriously messy stack of fried chicken and kimchi. It was extremely flavorful but also extremely salty. Thankfully it came with a small serving of rice because we needed it to wash it all down. Obviously the two of us couldn't finish that enormous stack so we ended up taking it to go. I made kimchi fried rice with it because it already had more than enough seasoning. Overall, I do think maybe we ordered the wrong thing? Everyone kept hyping up the Buldak but it seems even heavier than the Kimchi. I don't mind stopping in again to give them another chance but if they're blasting the bass like that again, I'm walking out.

Yelp
Wow. Best fried chicken I've ever had meets the creativity of Korean sauces and sides! This isn't cheap considering it's in a suburb mall, outside of the city. But it is worth the drive and price! We had four people in our party and got two orders of chicken (each order served 2 people) -- the Red Buldok and Honey butter chicken. Both were delicious and the sweeter wings were a helpful balance to the savory. The chicken itself was the highlight for me -- crispy skin and incredibly tender and flavorful white meat inside. The ambience was okay -- felt a bit like an informal fast food joint. We actually got the fried chicken takeout as there unfortunately isn't a lot of seating inside the restaurant and it was packed on a Saturday night. The chicken remained surprisingly crisp and hot despite a half hour drive, though the portions may be smaller than when in-person. I liked that they included gloves, as it really was the only way to enjoy the saucy chicken! Would highly recommend this spot!!

Yelp
Kimchi red is by far the BEST fried chicken in Atlanta!!! I have been dreaming about their chicken ever since we came lol and I can't wait to come back! We came during lunch so it was a little busy, but food came out pretty quickly. We shared the chefs secret for $30 that serves 2 and the chicken pieces were so massive you could honestly split it 3 ways and it would be enough food. The sauce was sooo good and I loved how crispy their chicken was! It was the perfect amount of spice too, but there are options to increase/decrease the spice level. The only problem I had was the chicken was fresh out of the fryer so I kept burning my mouth trying to eat it haha. I will definitely be back when I'm in Alpharetta and hope that there are plans to open a location ITP!

Yelp
Second visit. With son and Sean. Amazing. Small but so welcoming. Food Porn on every table. Find one by you and make a visit. This should be on your short list. Happy Holidays.

Yelp
Heard about this place as being the best fried chicken in Atlanta or Georgia or maybe even the nation! With this much hype I had to check it out. Chicken - was is the best chicken I ever had? No, but it was perfectly cooked. Will I get it again? No, it didn't work for me personally but like I said, cooked to perfection. Kimchi Fried Rice- very good and would easily buy again Only downside for me was the price , a bit steep for Asian food, but it was really good. Is it worth trying? Absolutely.

Yelp
Kimchi Red is pretty popular on social media, so it can get busy and hot inside the tiny establishment, which can slow service down a bit. But I still thought the staff tried their best to accommodate people. I ordered the Fried Chicken Plate with Soy Garlic Sauce on the side. The chicken was really crispy, but I did not think it was extraordinary based on the reviews I had been hearing about this restaurant. I also like my chicken to be infused with sauce rather than me dipping my chicken into the sauce as it tastes more flavorful. In addition, I think it is a bit pricey for getting only a few pieces of chicken. On the other hand, my friend ordered the Mandu Plate and she really liked it! The other items on their menu seem tasty, so I would probably try something else next time.

Yelp
This review is for the newest location in Johns Creek. It's located at the corner of Peachtree Pkwy and McGinnis Ferry Rd in the Kroger shopping center. Plenty of parking. This is fast casual, order and pay then sit and wait for your food. We were told about the Alpharetta location but this one was right by our gym...so we came after a workout worthy of the meal. We decided on a side of beef dumplings, which came with rice and furikaki along with a small portion of Jap Chae. Very, very delicious! Couldn't say no to kimchee fried rice, which is a crowd pleaser for us, especially with the fried egg on top! We decided to go with the chef special wings. Only two of us so an entire chicken was a little aggressive. We ate so much we still had 9 wings to split and take home! The dumplings were fried to perfection, and the fried rice didn't make it out of the restaurant. The sauce is spicy but has some sweetness to it- really tasty combo. Service is excellent, we met the owner and she told us how she travels back and forth to ensure quality is high and people are happy. If you're taking out, get sauce on the side. If eating in, you could do it that way but I'd enjoy the flavors all over the chicken. They provide boxes for you to pack up your leftovers, and also plastic gloves if you would rather keep your hands clean. Be warned- I'm a purist but I had a mess with the wings, in a good way. Just had to wash my hands at the end. Super clean bathrooms BTW. Support small business owners!

Yelp
I've really liked Kimchi Red for a while, and their food is very good. However, it seems to have become extremely popular recently, which has made them consistently busy. Because of this, I feel the food quality has gone down slightly, and on weekends, they often sell out of certain items. The restaurant itself is small and can get quite crowded, so be prepared to wait for a seat. Some of the items I enjoy are: 1. Spicy Jeonju 2. Mandu Plate 3. Kimchi Jjigae (Pork) The tteokbokki has a good flavor, but it's overcooked, so it lacks the signature chew you would expect from tteokbokki.

Yelp
I went to Korea last year and trying to find the best Korean chicken in GA bc I'm getting nostalgic. My Muslim friends rave about this spot since it's halal chicken. A great idea! I went Saturday for lunch and the restaurant was packed. I was so excited since it's busy, must be amazing right? Why nobody mention about the self service and tip first before you paid? There was NO service being provided. I had to get everything myself The meal cost $60 for chicken, ramen with eggs and mega fries bc everyone recommended it. I was so disappointed! The fried chicken breading was dry and the chicken had NO seasoning. My fries came out a bit soggy. The portion do not match the price at all. Parking was also very limited. This place is NOT the best Korean chicken in Ga. Overpriced and overhype. I been eating Korean food all my life and this place is NOT good and I had a huge stomach aches afterward. Expensive food and got me sick? YES It is serious! Good quality food should not make People sick.

Yelp
Were at it again @Kimchi Red restaurant in Alpharetta. A smaller restaurant that seats about 50. A place with so much flavor! We were helped immediately! We Ordered... Honey Butter Chicken, ( there are about 30 different flavors) Dirty Kimchi Rice (with the egg on the side, request from wife who dsnt like egg yoke) First the FRIED chicken covered with the honey butter, was absolutely fantastic, crunchy on the outside yet, extremely tender on the inside.... Both of rated the chicken 5/5 Be sure and use the plastic gloves. Youll also use plenty of napkins. I absolutely loved the Dirty Kimchi Rice, a little spicey for wifey, but when I broke the egg yoke over the rice, it cut down on the spiciness. Wifey rated the Kimchi Rice at 4/5, while I rated it 5/5 One order of chicken(feeds two) $29.00. Kimchi Rice, One order $16.00 feeds two. Two fruit drinks 8. With tip $70 Kimchi Red You have been #TongueTested

Yelp
Not for the faint of heart! Both because of the wait and the volume of food. Portions are large and most are meant to be shared. A friend and I came on Saturday afternoon around 3 and split an order of buldak chicken and the signature fries. Both were delicious but heavily doused in their respective sauces and toppings. For me, I think it was a little overwhelming since the fries started getting soggy and the chicken really didn't have too much going for it if you didn't add the topping. As far as the quantity, we barely finished and that served as both of our lunch and dinners. Despite the time of day the restaurant was full and remained full the entire time we were there. The wait to be seated wasn't bad but once we ordered, it took at least half an hour. I can't imagine what it would be like during dinner rush. Overall it was a solid experience. I would go again if I were in the area on a less busy day and time. Wouldn't go out of my way to get here though.

Yelp
It's my fault for not looking at the prices before I made the drive here but I was actually shocked at the price of the fried chicken. I understand that it's meant to serve two but I wish they had the option to get less because $36 for fried chicken is STEEP. I got the Mal-la (medium) flavor which wasn't really what I was expecting. It was spicy and almost smoky. It reminded me of curry but it was not my favorite. The chicken is fried with a thin, crispy shell which is good. I hope it reheats okay because I'll be eating it for the next 2 days. I really wish they had the option to get 1-3 flavors since they keep the sauce on the side (for to-go orders anyway). The mega fries were really good! Loved all the toppings, they worked really well together and the fries were fried perfectly. The restaurant is small but set up well with lots of tables, though there is no clear spot to wait if you're doing a to-go order, so you end up taking up a table. Thankfully it wasn't too busy when I was there. The wait after ordering was 20-25 minutes as they're cooking to order but it was a bit longer than I expected to wait. Overall I would say the price will be a huge deterrent from coming back. I don't mind making a long drive for really good food but I found the options pricy and not life-changing (as the social media hype might lead you to believe) so I just don't see myself returning.

Roshni T.

Yelp
First time there. They just opened a new location in Politan Row in Peachtree Corners. Ordered the boneless fried chicken bowl. Was very fresh and cooked just right. It's like a food court and the young man explained choices very patiently. Can't really talk about Ambiance, but there are tables and couches to sit at and a bar which is where we sat.

Eva D.

Yelp
I had high expectations for Kimchi Red after seeing all the positive reviews, but my experience was unfortunately quite disappointing. Despite arriving as a party of two, we had a long wait before being seated. The cashier recommended the Spicy Jeonju chicken, which we decided to try. However, the dish was overwhelmingly spicy to the point of being unable to taste any of the other flavors of the sauce. The table we were directed to wasn't clean when we arrived and remained super sticky even after being wiped down. There were no napkins on the table, and the seating arrangement was so cramped that it was uncomfortable having people constantly squeezing past our table. To top it off, the music was excessively loud, with the bass shaking the entire corner we were sitting in. Overall, I do not recommend Kimchi Red and will not be returning.

Ashley M.

Yelp
Spent 50$ for the kimichi fried rice and the spicy jeongju the chicken was dry it wasn't horrible but tasted bland. The food came out hot and fresh and in large portions. The kimichi fried rice was also okay . I wouldn't come back here because the chicken is lacking in flavor and chicken was dry. Nothing to rave about.

Yelp
I come to ATL every other month for work. I always look for very interesting places to experience when I go somewhere. When I saw the #1 rated fried chicken spot in the nation was nearby I made a plan to go. It's about a 45 minute drive after work from where I stay in Marietta when visiting. I walked in and was instantly greeted by the owner Alice. She was great! Just like all the other reviews said about her. She asked me if I had any questions. She asked if I had been there before and I told her I was visiting and saw the amazing reviews. She walked me through the entire menu personally. She asked me about my culinary restrictions, preferences and wanted to see how diverse my palette was. I appreciated the time she took and attention to detail. They use the same formula for their recipes and food preparation. This is their art and it shows. I decided to take the when in Rome approach and order a few things to sample. I started off with the mega fries. The flavors were impeccable. Freshly fried and crisp. Perfectly done. Next I went with the kimchi rice. Same thing as before. Delicious. I finished with the garlic honey chicken. The sweet and then tangy with the balsamic and honey together is amazing. I had so much food to take with me. This was a great culinary experience and I truly thank the team for making it an amazing visit!

Livie G.

Yelp
Really good Korean fried chicken. The inside is a little small. The service and food was very good! Each serving is basically meant for two people and is made to order! Everything was steaming hot right out of the fryer! I would definitely come back again!

Lynn P.

Yelp
Kimchi Red is one of my favorite places to visit when I'm in Georgia. Small place with limited seating, you need to put your name on a waitlist if you plan to dine in. Their chicken is really good, crispy, hot, and well seasoned. The portions are large. The tteokbokki are way too soft, they lack the rice cake chew that I enjoy, don't recommend. The Mandu and japchae are really good, highly recommend. The kimchi fried rice is good too, recommend adding cheese when ordering.

Olivia C.

Yelp
The kimchi fries are so good fresh! Some of the best fries I've ever had. The sauce is good and the added pork makes it taste oh so good. I came here for the fried chicken and although it was good, I felt like it was a lot going on and it was also quite expensive overall. I don't think I would make this my go to for Korean fried chicken but I would definitely come back if I'm ever around the area. I want to try the kimchi fried rice someday! Maybe that will be my next update. Small place but relatively quick service, unless it's a busy day then may take a while for the food to get ready.

Courtney L.

Yelp
This was our first time trying this restaurant and we didn't know what to expect. We ordered the suggestion of spicy jeonju and K-Mega fries. We thought the chicken was tender and had decent flavor, but was really greasy tasting and nothing exceptional. The fries had so much going on they didn't go well with the chicken. Plain fries would have been a better choice. The restaurant is not very big and felt crammed with the seating. It was also hot inside so not very comfortable to enjoy eating. The food is made to order so it took about 25 minutes to get our food. Overall due to the price of the food I would rather go to a restaurant where you can get table service and eat with better air conditioning. If I did return it would be for take out only and I would order something different.

Tasha H.

Yelp
I appreciate that everything is cooked fresh here. It takes a while to get your food, but I think that's a fair trade for it being prepared fresh. I have a shellfish allergy so we asked the cashier if the kimchi had shellfish (because we've been to places where the kimchi has shrimp eggs). She said no, but seemed a little unsure? Or maybe she was annoyed that day, but she wasn't exactly friendly. There are a lot of great sounding options on the menu so we had a hard time choosing. I'm a boneless chicken type of girl, so we opted for the crispy boneless chicken and the mega fries. The mega fries were delicious and full of flavor. The chicken was perfectly crispy, BUT we got the wrong flavor. It had Basalmic in it, and that overpowered EVERYTHING. It was too strong for me. I also noticed the sauce wasn't distributed evenly. It worked well in this case because we hated the flavor, but I would have been annoyed had it been a tasty sauce. I may give them another chance, but I'm not itching to return.

Erik F.

Yelp
This place is like no other place I ever been to. Literally one of my most favorite restaurant choices in the city, and my go to when I have friends from out of town visiting. Kimchi Red is a must frequent visit.

Ordered the kimchi fried rice and soy garlic fried chicken. The kimchi fried rice was really good! It was spicy but the additional sauces kind of balances the flavor out. The fried chicken was decent as well but because it was plated like a tower mine actually topped over and a piece of chicken fell on the floor so be careful! Very aesthetically pleasing!

Yelp
The service at Kimchi Red was absolutely lovely! The staff were kind and attentive throughout our visit. My family and I, along with my niece and nephew who love Korean fried chicken, felt very welcomed. The servers were particularly sweet and helped calm our little ones with some juice boxes. It's the little things that make a difference. As for the food, we ordered three different sets of chicken (snow cheese, spicy jeonju, soy garlic pepper) and the kimchi fries. Snow Cheese Boneless Wings: We decided to try the snow cheese as boneless wings. These wings were extremely crispy and perfectly cooked. The seasoning was excellent, making this our favorite dish. Spicy Jeonju Wings: The spicy jeonju wings had a flavor profile resembling orange chicken. Despite ordering them "hot," they were milder than expected. This was our second favorite flavor. Soy Garlic Pepper Wings: The soy garlic pepper wings were flavorful but definitely on the saltier side. While they were good, the saltiness became a bit overwhelming after a few wings. I personally preferred this flavor over the spicy jeonju, but my family liked the spicy jeonju more. Kimchi Fries: The loaded kimchi fries were very flavorful and remained crispy despite the generous amount of sauce. The flavors were well distributed, but I wish there had been more pork. It was hard to tell there was any pork in the dish. Overall, the food was very good and flavorful! We are definitely visiting again.

Yelp
Be careful of the person at the register who took our order and also pressed our gratuity button for herself. Highly unprofessional for a self serve restaurant to do this. She did this to a few other people we know. Adding a tip by tapping it on the screen for the customer is just very uncalled for!!!! The fries were great but the chicken could have been better. We asked for extra sauce because it was a little dry and we had to remind them for every chicken dish to bring it out (that was a little irritating). Also the serving size is extremely misleading. Every dish says it serves 2 people and that is insanely incorrect because it feeds more than 2 people but they want to make money so they persuade you to buy more food. We had an enormous amount of left overs!! The ambiance is like any self serve place. Tables and chairs but no real decor. Parking is easy in the lot outside.

Yelp
Looove kimchi red and try to go every time I visit Atlanta. The restaurant is small with limited seating so oftentimes there is a waitlist for tables. Your name gets added to a list & they call you when it's your turn. They offer complimentary paper bowls, gloves, utensils & water. They also have the take out boxes easily accessible so you can just pack your leftovers to go. The food is delicious. The chicken of course but so are the fries and the japchae. Definitely get your moneys worth of food. 10/10 recommend

Yelp
I originally posted this review on Google where the restaurant responded but it seems that my review was deleted so I'm reposting here. I ordered the kimchi fried rice and bulgogi and japchae meals. I asked the cashier if it was possible to order these dishes mild or even non spicy, who assured me it was fine. Well the food comes out, and everything is covered in spice. The fried rice is doused in spicy mayo and red pepper flakes and the bulgogi is also covered in red pepper flakes. As someone who cannot eat spicy food, I had to take my food back up and explain that I had ordered mild/non spicy. Instead of saying "oh I'm sorry, we can fix that," I got a very rude response from the waiter/order taker. He raised his voice and proceeded to berate us in front of the restaurant- "you should know when you order non spicy it doesn't *actually* mean non spicy, you also have to specify not to add the spicy add ons." When I say the whole restaurant got quiet and stared, he made a big scene out of nothing. Now, I'm not sure how I was supposed to know this, as this wasn't explained to us beforehand and it was my first time visiting this restaurant. I'd also like to add that all the restaurants I've visited in the past, if I asked for non spicy, the food came out non spicy. There wasn't a 2 part question where they could still add spice on top, it came out non spicy. My main issue was the waiter's attitude. There was no "I'm sorry, let me fix this." Or even "typically we order like this to achieve this result, but I can help you this time." It was, with a very stern look, "next time you come, you HAVE to order it like this." There was no apology issued and I felt very uncomfortable sending my food back. When you pay nearly $20 per dish (about $40 or so total for our meal) I expect to receive what I ordered without having to fight for it. Needless to say, after this experience I will not be back. UPDATE: I originally tried to go back to my Google review to answer the owner when I found it was down. As you can see here, they did respond and offer a solution for next time. Although I don't believe responding to a customer in all caps feels very friendly, I suppose this is indicative of the service they offer.

Yelp
I hate giving them an average review because everyone was so nice but these reviews are about the food. The menu is super confusing, even with the pictures I had no idea what to order. I ask the young lady up front what she recommends and this is what I got. The chicken was cooked perfectly. Crispy- check. Hot- check Tasty- Half Check It just wasn't what everyone hyped it up to be. It was just chicken. The rice was interesting.... Not much flavor. Restaurant was clean. I wouldn't go back.

Yelp
I stand by my first review of the fried chicken here - AMAZING! Love that it's consistent, I enjoyed the Jeonju as much as last time. The spicy definitely isn't that hot, it's mainly a tingle. The mandu on the other hand were less than stellar. After eating just a bite, I couldn't finish, it was dry and tasteless. Definitely don't recommend. The fries are still something I dream about at night. Seating is a little tight, it's cozy but clean. Try not to sit near the front door when it's cold if you can! GO if you haven't yet, what are you waiting for??

Yelp
A great Korean fried chicken joint! When I arrived on a Friday night, there was hardly any parking available in front of the restaurant. The establishment is located in a small strip mall, but there is parking in the back as well if needed. A friend and I had the Kimchi fried chicken ($38, serves 2) and Kimchi fried rice ($15). The fried chicken was pretty good, the presentation was crazy and there were a lot of flavors going on and tons of kimchi layered on. The batter is thin and crispy (my preference for Korean fried chicken is a thicker batter like bbq.chicken's, but it was good nonetheless). The kimchi fried rice was my favorite and even had crispy parts inside. Portions are large and we had leftovers. The service was nice, and they bring out gloves, utensils, to-go bags, etc. at your request. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 stars is because of how crowded it is on the inside. There's no way a huge party (ex. 8 people) would be able to come during peak hours. The tables barely have a foot or two in between them, and I hope they consider relocating to a larger space due to how popular they are. However, people did cycle in and out fairly quickly. Would be nice to see tteokbokki and more vegetable dishes added to the menu :)

Yelp
This is voted the best Korean fried chicken in the US for a reason, I've eaten a lot of KFC while traveling and I am so damn happy I live up here now cause this place is quality and you get what you pay for. This will always make multiple meals even for 2 people so know you will have leftovers. The kimchi fried rice is my wife's favorite and is packed with flavor and the spice is perfect. Small place but the service is good. If you haven't, give this place a try for sure.

Yelp
The best korean fried chicken ever! Crunchy, fresh, juicy chicken and more efficient and reliable that other places. Personally tried probably most of the flavors but my favorite is the plain fried chicken with no sauce mainly you can taste there crunch. I've warn you, you wont be able to stop. I always call ahead to order because they made the chicken when you order and it takes a bit of time. I also highly recommend their beef plate and jap chae. The store itself is not super big and very causal settings.

Yelp
When Kimchi Red made it to the top 100 best fried chicken in the US, I knew that I HAD to go since it was close to home. We were a party of 3, so we decided to order the Kang-Nam chicken and the kimchi fried rice. The chicken was delightful: crispy on the outside, piping hot and juicy on the inside. The only complaint I have about it is that I wish the chicken came with more sauce than it did. It seemed like most of the sauce got caught by the onions, which were a nice touch but we ended up discarding most of the onions at the end of it. The kimchi fried rice was pretty standard fare, nothing particularly noteworthy of it. I don't think I would order it again, though. Ambiance was like any other small business restaurant. We thought that because it was so popular, we would have trouble finding a table, but that wasn't the case since we went on a weekday evening. Service was fast and kind. I'll definitely be back again to try their other chicken flavors!

Yelp
I like to try places at least twice before I leave a review! The food was good and very tasty. But it's it the best chicken ever No!! Should you try it yes..

Yelp
Amazing fried chicken!!! This place has been on my bookmarks for a long time. I tried them today and it didn't disappoint. I got the Honey Butter Medium Wings and they were outstanding! It has some kick but not too bad. The service was nice and she put the sauce on the side because I got it to go and she didn't want my chicken to be soggy. The restaurant is small and it can get crowded plus the prices are high so that's why I took a star off. Check this place out if you're in the area.

Yelp
They have so many varieties of fried chicken that you want to go back to try each one! We had the cheese chicken. I wouldn't get this again but the flavor of the chicken was so good that I know the other combinations would be great! The dumplings were good too! Make sure you order less as they are big portions hence the high price. Its worth it though! Space is tiny so be prepared to wait.

Yelp
We arrived at the restaurant around 1:30pm on a Saturday. They were busy but we were seated pretty quickly. I recommend that you know what you're going to order before you get there because you order first, they give you a number, then you sit down at your table. The restaurant is tight inside, so expect your table to be very close to another party. Because we don't drive all the way up to Alpharetta often, we got a few items to try and had a ton of food to take home with us. We started with the mandu plate which included beef dumplings, white steam rice, japchae, and kimchi. The beef dumplings weren't very tasty. I actually didn't finish them. The japchae was pretty good, though I don't like cold noodles, these were good. For our entrees we got the kimchi fried chicken as well as the spicy jeonju. Each fried chicken plate is definitely for two people each, maybe more. The portions are huge. We love fried chicken but we honestly preferred the pieces that had less sauce on them. I think we should have asked for the sauce on the side or something because it was very messy. The chicken overran was fried very well. If I return, I'd like to try the kimchi fried rice. The customer service was absolutely excellent!

Yelp
I couldn't wait to write this review! I first heard about this gem on Instagram. After seeing this beautiful power of noodles and chicken, I had to have it! It's busy, it's a pretty popular spot and waiting in line is so worth it I promise you. Despite the rush, everything came out so fresh and delicious. We waited about 20 minutes to order and then another food but until the food came out. The environment is lively, of course, because of the crowd. It is very clean and you can tell the staff is organized. Let me start with the Kimchi fries! OHHH MY GOODNESS! I'd eat this a thousand times a day every day. The fries were so good the perfect blend of flavor and textures! I couldn't stop talking about them. They're perfect when fresh, definitely not something you'd want to drive home then reheat. When our chicken and noddles came out, we were also super impressed. Everything was cooked well and seasoned perfectly. I was super super full, but I loved it. The egg was the perfect edition, it had a touch of spice but not too spicy. Definitely come try this spot!

Yelp
Loved kimchi red! I wish I would've orders the Buldak Ramen but I chickened out. We had the kimchi fried chicken, kimchi fried rice, nap has and white rice with the Mala Chicken. The staff is incredibly kind. It's family owned so it was cool seeing them interact and having aunts and uncle helping out and loving supporting the family business. The place was packed! We had to wait 10min for a table but we were able to order while waiting to be sat! Will definitely come back again.

Yelp
Cheesy buldak fried chicken and kimchi fried rice are our favs. You have to wait a bit because the chicken is fried when ordered. Worth every minute.

Yelp
Kimchi Red has always been a place I wanted to visit ever since I saw it on TikTok. I came here yesterday (10/26/2023) around 6:20 PM and the store was busy! However it picked up even more around 7:20 PM-ish. The decor is cute, music is a bit loud and the chairs are really cool. The food took them around 30-35 minutes to serve from the time that I ordered and I got their Kimchi Fried Chicken and the Beef K-Plate. [Kimchi K-Fried Chicken] * This dish was $35!!! Though a bit expensive, the serving size is huge (like 3 people worth). There is 2 spicy level for this item (medium or spicy) and we got the spicy. The spice was tantalizingly delicious, paired with their mayo sauce and sour kimchi, this dish is a 9/10! [Beef K-Plate] * This plate was suppose to come with some stir-fried noodles but they ran out that day and substituted it for some spicy rice cake. Overall the dish is good but the amount of kimchi provided was very little. However they give you A LOT of beef. 8/10 for me! Overall Kimchi Red is a fantastic place for kimchi-lovers and definitely a place to visit with friends and family!

Yelp
Family owned halal spot! It's a small space so it can get packed quick. But they try to get people in and out as soon as they can. Food is amazing! Portions are HUGE so we usually share. Prices are expensive so sharing is the go to.

Yelp
Saw this place multiple times on social media so I figured I would check it out. We went to the Alpharetta location. I was caught off guard by how small the establishment is. You can eat there but the size of the space makes it more suited for take out. It is also hot inside which makes it even more uncomfortable. We ordered a whole K-Crispy with the soy garlic sauce on the side. I would suggest purchasing the half if you are with two people as the whole is better for 3-4 people. The chicken was very crispy and flavorful. We ordered the Kimchi fries which has a bunch of sauces, cheese, kimchi, and pork however, I did not see much pork on my fries. The sauce really overpowers everything else. The kimchi fries are 13.99 and I think it is pretty pricey for what you get. I would not purchase again. Regular fries are 8 dollars. They are very crispy. Overall I think this place is good but it can get very pricey. I paid 76 bucks after tip and that was for 2 diet cokes, a whole chicken, kimchi fries, and regular fries. My recommended improvements would be to relocate to a larger establishment since the inside is not very comfortable for seating. The business seems like it gets lots of traction. Also the sauces are very expensive and should be cheaper or included. Basically 2-3 dollars for a ranch cup worth of sauce.

Yelp
Superb food and service. The fried chicken is addicting -- just wonderful and it travels well for takeaway. My favorite? The loaded french fries. Sweet geezus these are the best ever!! Cheers! RS

Yelp
We're back for more of the best KFC! We tried Spicy Jeoju in medium this time as it was a Chef's pick. It's a tangy soy-based sauce and I was surprised that it was barely spicy (and I don't have a good spice tolerance). The flavor was interesting, but our favorite is still garlic soy pepper- but we would try the highest level of spicy next time. Get a side of rice, bring a friend, and enjoy!
