NYC New Restaurant Openings, December 2025 | Eater NY

"An entirely gluten-free newcomer from the team behind Tiger Lily Kitchen and TLK by Tigerlily Kitchen, this celiac-safe spot opened on Wednesday, December 3, uses products from gluten-free facilities, and serves peanut noodles, mango and papaya salad, spicy tuna rice cakes, and grilled pork belly skewers; much of the menu is vegetarian, and drinks include wine (glasses $13–$16) and low-ABV cocktails." - Tierney Plumb

Amazing experience. Great food and friendly service. I'm neither vegan nor gluten-free and I loved it! Kimmi has options for everyone. I hate cilantro (tastes like soap!) and they adjusted my order without issue. Had the peanut street noodles and the pork belly skewers. Super delish! Kimmi's whole vibe is both low key cool and a warm hug. Will definitely be back soon.

I had an amazing meal here! I tried the pork belly skewers, spicy tuna crispy rice, a frozen Hong Kong milk tea, and one of the noodle dishes (can’t remember the exact one) — and everything was delicious and full of flavor. The pork belly skewers were juicy with a great char, the crispy rice had the perfect balance of heat and crunch, and the frozen milk tea was such a fun, refreshing twist on a classic. I also really appreciated the low-ABV cocktail options — it’s nice to be able to have something interesting without it being super heavy. Great vibe, friendly service, and overall just a really enjoyable spot. Would definitely come back.

great food and flavor! only complaint is 4 of the 5 dishes came out at room temp and weren’t hot, but the dish that came out hot was even better so i can only imagine how the others must’ve tasted. overall, recommend!

The best. Good food for vegan and vegetarian guests as well. Diners can eat sharing style or with individual meals. The drinks are absolutely perfect, including for those of us who do not drink alcohol but would like a tasty mixed beverage.

Fantastic cocktails, not too sweet. Everything was creative and complex, not precious … just fantastic. It’s still the first week so looking forward to returning!

An outstanding experience. Service was top notch and staff very attentive and then the food happened. The octopus and mango papaya salad were so flavorful and the peanut street noodles the best I’ve had anywhere. For an all gluten free menu you’d think there would be some weakness, but there wasn’t. I’m going back again this weekend. My new Chinatown #1 spot (P.s. I’m always cautious to get a Guinness outside an established Irish place and took a chance and it’s actually a very good pint!)

This was honestly one of the most frustrating restaurant experiences I’ve had in my ten years in New York. I showed up ten minutes early for my reservation and still waited over thirty minutes past the time. Annoying, but I tried to be patient. The food was great but Michelle, the owner, was the real problem. When I went up to her to ask about the delay, she hit me with the most dismissive, unprofessional response: “That’s just how New York is.” No apology or explanation. What made it worse was that while we were waiting, I overheard her talking down to the host and serving staff. It was tense and uncomfortable. If the person running the restaurant can’t treat customers or even her own employees with basic respect, there’s no reason to come back.
