"When Kimpton first took over the historic Angler’s, it was still a slightly unfocused Mediterranean Revival curiosity, out of scale and slightly out of step with the current South Beach hotel scene. The new Angler’s, however, is totally transformed, with a brand-new five-story tower building that features 85 contemporary-style studio rooms, all of which are sleeker, sunnier, and more modern than the Angler’s that came before." - Mark Fedeli

This is my first time at Kimpton Angler's and I have much to share: The cab fare from the airport was $60.00 and you have to know not to take the blue cabs with (ART), Those are only for the airport services, but the yellow cabs are for outside of the airport, and they are metered. The hotel staff is friendly and courteous, but I have to tell you -- the ambience is too dark. That was a turn off. I almost felt like I entered some clandestine society that I didn't sign up for. We need more light in the place, just too bloody dark. The decor is awesome and the general layout is beautiful. You have water and a refreshing drink that is free, and you can refill without limit. You have free coffee from 7-10a.m. daily which you get in the lobby, and free wine in the afternoon between a certain hour. There was live music on Friday which was delightful! Don't know if this is a regular thing. The room is spacious and clean but I noticed that the shower itself needs to be cleaned more thoroughly. The terrace is big enough and beautiful, not a great view but some view. The lighting is great and the space is great for two people. The rooftop pool is lovely but very hot outside, wear your hats, sunscreen and sunglasses. The managers especially by the pool are impolite and dismissive of patrons, I'm wondering if it has to do with my skin color!? The pool is in the open so you have no protection whatsoever from the sun. The beach is about 3 blocks from the hotel. Washington Avenue is always busy, and it is dotted with young people, some with their plus one. I like this place. They need to train their staff on the importance of sending positive vibes on patrons. If you plan on staying in this service industry -- watch the vibes you send out! I probably will not come back, there are too many other places out there for me to subject my money to subpar vibes. Check out the photos to get a sense of the layout and the different viewpoints.

Cleanliness of hotel and bedroom is excellent. Only problem was we had to keep asking for housekeeping to call and replenish the towels and clean the room. There is a cooler with drinking water on each floor so taking your own cooler flask is useful. Roof pool is beautiful, except they play very loud (obscure) music all the time, so take your ear plugs. In fact music was everywhere you couldn't escape from it, even sitting in the outdoor bar area fronting on to the road! We didn't eat in the hotel as it was so central there were plenty of places to choose. We also went to a small Deli on the side street by the hotel for breakfast which is highly recommended. The location of the hotel is perfect, a couple of minutes walk to the beach and the famous Art Deco area. Free tea and coffee available in the Reception area up to about 11am and a happy hour with a free glass of wine around 5ish.

The staff was incredibly kind, professional and super helpful. A big call out to Wilson who was always went above and beyond to tend to our requests. The front desk staff amazing as well as the roof top pool. ||Location is perfect. A quick walk to the beach, restaurants and shops. ||Rooms: Beds super comfortable and pillows nice and fluffy. ||Will definitely be coming back to this hotel.

I have experienced better Kimpton hotels, layout-wise. We were able to make our room work for our family but it wasn't totally ideal. Pull out couch is suitable for kids but not very comfortable for adults. Pack n play worked great for our baby, but would've been hard to bring up the spiral stairs, so he slept downstairs. No bathtub for littles, and bathroom vanities are small so not much room on countertops. There were cheese cracker crumbs in the pullout couch when we opened it, but the room was pretty clean besides that. ||The staff was very very friendly and welcoming. They remembered our names and room #, and even asked how our baby was doing when he wasn't with us (my mom was watching him!!). Brought fresh towels every other day and refreshed our bedding halfway through our stay. ||El Patio was yummy. To-go food took a while but was still great quality once we got back to our room. Loved the all the breakfast, the Chicken Caesar wrap, Braised Short Ribs. It was all great! Note: OJ is not fresh squeezed.||Bartenders were very friendly & accommodating at both bars.||Pool was kid friendly, good size and 4.5ft at the deepest, steps all along one side. Cabanas available with a $200 minimum purchase at the bar/grill.||Bikes are available to check out and that was so fun. Recommend going over to ocean drive and then riding around there!||Also note the website says there are laundry and dry cleaning services available but they really only have dry cleaning***

We loved our short stay before our cruise. The lobby is small but beautiful, and you are welcomed with a nice fizzy adult beverage. It's easy to have Uber get you out front, walkable to many places and the beach. The patios with landscaping is a great tropical touch. There are many styles of room options which was nice to see, and the affiliated restaurant had excellent food options. Love the little photo op sign they have too. Did not visit the pool unfortunately. The rooms seemed typical of other hotels.

Google
Love the Kimpton brand! This one is a great location! Short walk to the beach and tons of restaurants, bars, and shops. The room was really nice, and the hotel was super nice with lots of great decor! The rooftop pool was great, plenty of seating and awesome views! We were even able to get complimentary beach umbrella, towels, and a bag rental! Would definitely stay again!

Google
Amazing stay right in South Beach! Clean, comfortable, luxurious, and the Best staff! Truly recommend this stay for anyone coming down to Miami! I went solo and it is incredbily safe for solo female travelers! The hotel is well kept, and I must say the pool is 10/10!

Have Wilson book your cab ride to the airport! He is reliable and very efficient! He made us feel like we were his only clients, and we aren't! He was prompt and very professional and he wears a courteous smile. We got the the airport in good time and the driver was very attentive and safe in his maneuvering of the roadway.

Yelp
I love this place! I was invited by my friend as part of her OTH partnership so we enjoyed dinner on the house! It's right on Washington Ave so you can see the action. We were there early in the evening - around 6:30p so it was fairly light activity. I ordered a Paloma which was the perfect amount of tang and some chicken kabobs. The chicken was a little dry and could've used a sauce but nicely seasoned, the basmati rice was so good and the broccolini was crisThe ceviche had flavor with a great tasting octopus. Our server was nice and patient. Overall it was a cute girls night and the drive from Hollywood was worth it.

Yelp
Service was only ok. Room location was, for us, not ideal. A "suite" next to a secondary pool, which I never saw anyone use the two nights we were there. It was away from the main building. Ambiance was decent. Upon checkout, I was asked if I'd like the bill emailed. I made the mistake of saying yes. That was a week ago, no bill. Tried calling three times. No answer. Called Accounting. They transferred me to the front desk. No answer. Called reservations. They transferred me, and after I told them the trouble I had, they said they'd wait till they got someone on the line. After 8 minutes on hold, I was disconnected. Room was clean enough, though not spotless, not something for which I'd ever pay $400/night. Value was lacking.

Yelp
Like many Kimptons, this hotel has the unique and cozy boutique style that many of us have come to love so much about the brand. I love the way the hotel is nestled away and surrounded by a lot of lush greenery. Even though it's on Washington Ave, it still manages to feel a bit tucked away. When I first checked in and went my room, I was surprised that it was a loft like room with a winding staircase within it that went up to the bathroom and bedroom area. While some people might love this, it made me feel a bit uncomfortable with a top level above the bedroom that included a locked door to a terrace area. Although it was locked and not accessible from what I could tell, the idea of there being a door upstairs above me in addition to the main hotel room door made me feel a little anxious as a woman traveling alone. Luckily, I was able able to talk to the front desk and they had another room that was not exactly that layout that I preferred much more and was very spacious! What I liked most about my stay was that the hotel was relatively quiet and the folks that worked here were so nice. I also really loved their texting function that went straight to the front desk. I utilized it a few times when I would take off my do not disturb sign and was ready for my room to be serviced or when I was running a few mins late for my check out. Overall, though I was pleased with my stay and would definitely be open to booking here again in the future!

Yelp
Miami has played host to my social calendar as of late, with wedding weekends aplenty in one calendar year. Normally I would shun South Beach's scene, but since this hotel was where my good friend's wedding arrival night festivities took place I opted to join the group and stay here. While certainly not Miami's grandest quarters, their clean mid-century vibe and super friendly service suited our needs quite nicely. My room overlooked a chic balcony and deck which is where our rambunctious group ended up gathering post wedding on night 2 of our 3 day stay. The plush king sized bed beckoned by night's end. The lack of on-site gym was made up for by the hotel's partnership with the nearby location of Orange Theory, where I took them up on a free class. It was just a few blocks away and I got a better workout there than I wouldve on my own at a hotel gym, so I'd consider this a personal plus. In addition to the hotel's sleek lobby, the smiley front desk staff was kind toward us when our group received noise complaints for our inebriated revelry on the deck, which I appreciated. So while not the fanciest hotel, I quite liked our stay and may even choose to stay at the Kimpton during my upcoming trip to Taipei.

Yelp
Stayed there for a few days and the location was perfect. The room was nice and there was a decent view of the street. Theres a nice rooftop pool and plenty of bikes for rent for guests.

Yelp
We love Angler's Hotel! It's our 4th stay, and our puppy's 3rd stay here. Gabriel and Jose at the front desk are the nicest ever! Justo at the pool is so kind and accommodating. We love it here and can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Kimpton's took my reservation, let me put it in my 37 yr. old son's name and even sent me a confirmation of the reservation with his name on it. My son called from the airport of his connecting flight to confirm and was told he was all set. Not knowing that, I called at 8 pm and was then told (for the first time) that they had a NEW policy where I could not put it in his name, even though he was my son. I had to be there to check him in. I'm in MA and he was arriving at the hotel around 3 am. If I had not made that call he would have had to try to find a place at that hour. THIS IS NOT THE WAY TO DO BUSINESS!!! I will NEVER deal with any Kimpton's hotel.

Yelp
I only stayed one night and it was such a restful night! I arrived a little early and they were able to accommodate me with no issue. I typically like a room on a higher floor but the patio level room was great because it provided me a nice little reading nook to spend time. The location was great to walk to food and beach as well as so many amenities. The mini bar in the room was well stocked as well as a beach bag, an umbrella for the crazy miami weather, and a robe for great lounging.. i also appreciate that the staff was available by text if I needed anything. I took advantage of the happy hour at the restaurant just downstairs, the free wine and the breakfast next door. I will highly recommend this location to anyone looking for a relaxing time on south beach.

Nicole P.

Yelp
Very nice hotel and the lobby smells so inviting. The rooftop pool is nice but definitely get there early to get a lounge chair. They have 20% off food and drinks if you get a resort pass for the day. They have good options for drinks and food. The only thing missing is the music. So it's definitely more of a chill vibe but check them out.

Hillary P.

Yelp
What a wonderful little boutique hotel. A new line offered by IHG. Located approximately a block and a half from South Beach proper this cozy little hotel was wonderful as it was quiet and nicely appointed. The only drawback from our perspective was the absence of a coffee maker in our room however, the breakfast at the café made up for it in spades! The service was absolutely outstanding and would highly recommend that you check out this Hotel in your travels.

Yelp
Excellent stay. We were a bit worried about our stay given how chaotic South Beach was as we made our way to the hotel during spring break. But - wow- this was perfect. Huge spa studio with upstairs bedroom and private hot tub on front patio. Felt like we were transported somewhere else. Service was great. Was a bit worried to be booking a hotel not on the beach-- but so glad we did.

Yelp
What I liked: - only a few blocks from the beach. An easy walk - free bikes available to use. However, there are only a few bikes, so if you don't grab one early, they'll be gone. - the fruit infused water in the lobby - following some major complaints, the manager, Marcia, went out of her way to try to make it right. Unfortunately, I was over it by this point, but I appreciate her genuine concern. She provided 5-star customer service. What I didn't like: - I was put in the old section of the hotel, twice. I specifically requested to be in the newer, renovated section of the hotel but they lied and said the new section only had king beds (I needed 2 queen beds). I find it very hard to believe that an entire section of a hotel was added with only king beds. Enter eye roll here. - I got a weird rash on my arms during my second stay. It went away after I moved to the Hilton. - No full length mirror. The only mirror was the bathroom mirror. I mean, how are we supposed to check our outfits and make an informative decision? lbvs - room door will not shut completely on its own. You must physically close it all the way or risk an open door. Room 207 was like this and they put me in this room twice! A major safety risk - front door of lobby is not manual. You have to physically pull open the door, and it's a heavy door. If you travel with more than a backpack you may understand my frustration at this. Most of the front desk staff would just look at you struggling to get through the door. Who makes a hotel front door like this? If it was push, instead of pull, that would help a little. It really should be automatic though. What gives? - an employee at the front desk, who was BEYOND rude and horrid in EVERY way. Another employee said his name was Camilo, but I never confirmed that for myself. As mentioned earlier, I did bring my concerns to management's attention and Marcia took my concerns seriously. But he does not need to be a front of the house employee. He may not need to work with the public at all, based on my experience. - It wasn't the cleanest, but it wasn't the dirtiest either. The housekeeping lady had an attitude and expected me to keep a face towel after it dropped on the floor when she was handing it to me. She got visibly annoyed after I refused to keep this dirty towel. What on earth do they do when no one is watching?! This was extremely disturbing! - there is no fitness center in the hotel, BUT they have an arrangement with Orange Theory Fitness, which is about a 12 min walk (walking briskly) from the hotel. I actually liked this arrangement and enjoyed the classes at OTF. The downside is that you have to depend on the hotel front desk to put you on their list (there is limited class space due to COVID precautions) and the front desk often got busy and forgot to add me. - no free breakfast for Holiday Inn Spire Elite members (yes, this is a Holiday Inn property) I'm not saying that you should avoid this place, but it will not be my first, second, or third choice when I return to south beach.

Yelp
The room is nice enough but really cannot recommend the hotel. Service is abysmal. Arrived in the pouring rain -- two people watched me and my wife get out of the car with a baby and didnt offer to help. Booked a one bedroom suite and was given a studio suite. Room was freezing and the thermostat was broken -- only way to change it was to take it off the wall. Room has a nice shower but there's no lip and only a curtain so the floor got SOAKED. Valeted the car and was told it's easy to request it through text. Did that, waited 15 min and nothing happened. Had to go down to the front desk for them to radio the valet and remind them to check the app for requests. The room itself was clean and decently comfortable, but I absolutely would not stay again.

Ty G.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my stay here. The LOCATION is ideal as you're in walking distance to the beach, restaurants, and shopping. The AMENITIES were plentiful as well. The rooftop pool area was appealing and very clean. I would suggest getting there early for a lounge chair. There are games at the pool area as well as the lobby bar. My ROOM was clean and had good space. The bathroom was a nice size and clean as well. Some of the fixtures could use a dusting, however. Overall, I had a great stay and would book again if I returned.

Yelp
Stayed here Wednesday - Monday. The hotel is Beautiful. My Husband hurt his eye pretty nasty on the room door and Management showed concern. One of the bartenders in there is super sweet and makes the best Mojito I had while in Miami. Roof top Pool is sexy. Hotel is only a couple of blocks from The Main Strip so you have the quiet and the action. Again the hotel is BEAUTIFUL. Parking is slow and expensive. $40 a night and usually only 1 Valet during peak times even. We did eat in the hotel restaurant once. Shrimp tacos were good but I did not like the Chicken Quesadilla. The Hotel provides complimentary beach bag with towels and umbrellas by request. The water in the room is $8 but there's a popular drug store a couple of blocks up so just walk and get what you need. Cleanliness was okaaaaay. It could have been cleaner. I found hair in a couple of corners that were there before we checked in.

Yelp
My friends were visiting from Virginia and booked their room at the Kimpton Anglers. This review is not about room accommodations because I did not actually stay there. I was very interested in visiting the pool area because they are also listed on Resort pass.com. The hotel is in walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Bars, and the beach. We had b fast at the hotel, which was good and convenient but nothing to write home about. We had blueberry pancakes, the Sunshine, which included bacon or chicken sausage. We asked for both sausage and bacon. It also came with eggs, toast, and potatoes. He had the burger and fries, which looked amazing. He said it was good. The b fast was acceptable but not outstanding. We also toured the pool area, which is upstairs. There was a full bar including frozen drinks, soft music, a good amount of loungers and cabanas which were for rent. The pool looked fabulous. It overlooked Washington Ave. I was there on Friday at about 11 am and the parking was easy at that time. Throughout the hotel, there were water stations with ice cold water. The bathrooms were very clean and spacious. This summer, I will be reserving a cabana at this location.

Melissa C.

Yelp
This hotel will be my go to every time I'm in south beach! The staff was amazing and fun and made both my stays here a memorable experience. The rooftop pool is sexy and fun! The rooms are beautiful and clean and comfy. The downstairs bar is on point. As well as the restaurant the brunch menu was insane and delicious! I honestly couldn't find a bad thing to say about this place! And if I haven't mentioned it the staff was insanely fun professional and makes your stay 100 out of 10! No that's not a misprint it's a 100!

Yelp
This place is heaven sent. Spent about 4 days here for a mini girls get away. It was amazing. Staff was greattttttt. The hotel itself was really clean. My friends and I were always greeted by staff when we walked in each and every time. Even when we were drunk AF and a hot mess. I could not believe how amazing our room was. It had an outdoor space that was completely private. It had a sofa, table and a few lounge chairs. It was completely affordable, and I would stay here a million times over. The location is perfect. It's not toooo far away from the food and parties but far enough to be able to SLEEP and get away from the madness for a second. It was within walking distance of everything I needed. Its only two or three avenues in from the beach. My room had two beds. The bathroom was absolutely beautiful. The decor in the room was very chic. I loved it here. The staff was very amazing. Each time we walked through the doors; we were greeted politely. No matter how drunk we were, lol. This place was a no judgement zone. The lobby had a wine tasting when we stood there. My girls and I went for about 30mins or so. Alot of other people dropped by but they grabbed a drink and left. We actually sat by the bar for a little. They provided crackers and a really good dip with it. Overall, I would love to stay here again. It was a very comfortable stay.

Nelson Y.

Yelp
We stayed at a Kimpton hotel in Barcelona pre-covid and we fell in love! After discovering there were a few Kimpton hotels in Miami, we knew we had to stay in one of them! The rooms and decor of the hotel are so cool! They have free wine every day from 5-6, so you can pregame before venturing off! There's also a pool if you want to avoid the crazy waves of Miami Beach

Marissa P.

Yelp
This hotel is decent. I got a deal here, so that's why we stayed. Location is great. 5 min walk to the beach! Service is friendly and efficient. Lobby smells so good. Hotel is very clean and chic. Room is a good size. Was given a free drink at the rooftop restaurant on our first day here, which was super nice but damn $80+ for chips & 2 small tacos? They were not very good either. Pool is very small. Photos are misleading. We opted for a room w a king bed and my back is killing me. I had to ask for different type of pillows as well--the ones they had originally in our room had 0 support. The ones I was given are better, but still, my back is sore from sleeping in this bed. It is very hard and must be a cheap mattress? That is my biggest issue. Also, street noise. Aggressive street noise. I am coming from nyc so like yeah I have it in nyc too but there was a lot of construction noise and people having loud sex. Our last time here we stayed at the Standard hotel and while the hotel room itself was smaller, and not as nice, the bed and pool (amazing) made up for that. If you want a deal, Anglers is for you. But otherwise, eh.

Karlyn W.

Yelp
Pros: -Modern design throughout hotel -Aromatherapy in lobby giving the hotel lobby a spa vibe -Rooms without carpet which is great for keeping the property clean -Rooms with balcony, yoga mats, beach towels/beach bags, refrigerator -Bikes on loan -Complimentary Evening wine happy hour -Rooftop pool in main building and second smaller pool -Minutes away from the beach Cons: -Check the light colored furniture options in rooms for stains; my desk chair was stained and filthy (sad to disclose this since the property was so nice)

Nick A.

Yelp
Stay away from this hotel. It's not worth the hassle. I booked a King Suite Poolside room with points through my IHG account. On arrival, they gave us a smaller street side room. Not what I booked. They didn't have the room I booked available. We ended up checking out early to go to another hotel that had the room we needed. A few days later, I got an unauthorized charge for $520 for the first night we stayed there, the problem is the room was already paid for with points and they have deducted the points from my account. They also agreed to return my points for the night we left early given that they couldn't provide the room we booked. I attempted to contact the hotel to rectify the unauthorized charge, I did so several days in a row and they said they would look into it, which hasn't happened. I've called several times, each time I get a different person who can't help and transfer me to the front desk, which never answers. Sometimes I get a voicemail from some random person, and they never return my call. I would avoid this hotel at all costs.

Jarrod G.

Yelp
WARNING!! After our first night at The Angler's Hotel, I noticed multiple itchy raised red bumps on my neck. I didn't think anything of it. The following day, I had several more. I went to the front desk and politely asked them to speak with me as I thought they might have bed bugs. The manager sent EcoLab to run a test. Of course they waited til we left the premise so they could do some BS search in the room. Basically they changed the sheets and that was it. The EcoLab report was a generic template that they seemed to be able to alter themselves. It was a joke. The manager had asked that we keep our belongings nice and neat for when they did the search. We came back to the room to find our belongings scattered around the room as if they went into our luggage. I specifically had sunglasses that were packed away that were found out and almost seemed as someone was trying them on to steal. After following the all of these protocols this past year to a T, we came for a little relaxation. This was supposed to be a nice break. Instead, The Angler's did nothing to help give us peace of mind. I felt like a chew toy the entire time at The Angler's. With all the places to stay in Miami Beach, WE WILL NOT BE BACK!

Nick A.

Yelp
First room was smokey. Second room was dirty and trashed balcony. Valet was very slow. Event being held in hotel had some rude employees because we had to walk through their setup to get to our room. Their setup blocked egress from the only hallway. Go somewhere else and don't be fooled by the pictures.

Michelle C.

Yelp
Beautiful little hotel in south beach. Stayed here for 4 nights and my only complaint is the thin walls and the not so tasty sangria during the social hour. The hotel is clean, the staff is friendly and very helpful. They give you towels and a bag for the beach and they have a pool on the roof. My girlfriend and I loved how comfortable the beds and the pillows were. Most mornings we had to force ourselves to get up. They have TVs but no premier hbo or Cinemax Channels which sucked because it got chilly enough for us to stay in under the covers but nothing to watch on tv. Room service was available by request. Hotel is also located 2 blocks over from ocean drive on Washington so it wasn't as loud or busy as Collins and Ocean. I will definitely have Kimpton Angler as a option for next time I visit south beach.

Vonda B.

Yelp
I was totally disappointed in this property! First time stay. The lobby is the only halfway appealing thing on the whole property. Food was decent, and drinks were excellent. Rooms are scarcely and poorly appointed. They offer no comfort. Cheap, worn, stained furniture. The goes for the furniture and fixtures around the property. Staff is very poor at offering information at check-in (i.e., internet code, location of Ice stations, location of the elevators, etc.). No bellman. I never even saw a maid to at least ask for towels. I only stayed two nights. When I did kindly give my comments st checkout, the front desk staff got an attitude. Look, we all know what havoc COVID-19 has reeked our country and others, but must we ride on this event by continuing to collect benefits while giving less service for higher prices! Including taxes, I paid $300 per night (and beware, on top of your total bill, they hit your credit card for an additional $100 per night for a "daily " deposit!! Love the location, but I'm sure that there are other comparably priced hotels in the area that offer better comforts and amenities for the price. This was my first and last stay!

Rachel C.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I stayed here this past Friday-Sunday and we loved it! The room was big and the staff was very nice and accommodating. We forgot toothpaste and they brought it to us quickly which was great. My boyfriend also surprised me with sparkling rose in the room and it was wonderful! The view was excellent and it was a great location - right near the bars without being super noisy. The pool was also WONDERFUL (my favorite part!). I would absolutely stay here again and I'd recommend to friends!

Jerrod B.

Yelp
Booked this hotel through Hotels Tonight after an impromptu stay in Miami, and we were pleasantly surprised with how incredible this place is! Upon arrival you will notice a dramatic decor, with an inviting, inspired lobby. It smells incredible, too! We were greeted with smiles and a thorough introduction to the hotel. There is a lovely social hour in the lobby with drinks and appetizers. The room is beautifully appointed and had a balcony with two chairs and a small table. I was so impressed with the bathroom design, I made sure to take pictures for a possible renovation on my home bathroom. The rooftop pool is impressive. Plenty of chairs and umbrellas, towels, an outdoor shower, beautiful bathrooms - even sunscreen and aftersun lotions available to guests! The view from the 5th floor is great - ocean in the distance and even some passing cruise ships around 4pm. Perfect. We will definitely return when we are back in Miami!

Yelp
Came and stayed Monday through Friday. First impression was the ambiance was great love the vibe decor outside plants and seating area. We stayed on the 4th floor, it did feel extremely hot in the hallways not sure what is up with the A/C. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Our view was great from the room. Housekeeping I feel this is an area that could be improved on. I understand going green and reusing towels saving on water etc. but for 3 people we needed new washcloths daily all the housekeeping we encountered did not speak English and one had a translation device. Central to everything and far enough away from all the noise. 2 blocks from the beach. Overall would stay here again. Went down nightly to happy hour from 5-6 pm

Yelp
98% perfection. I will get to the missing 2% little later. After scouring the internet trying to find a hotel that's not covered in Instagram famous wannabes. I discovered this majestic place. Before booking I called to this fine establishment asking if the pictures on the website matches the actual rooms. Yes, there's a story there. Talked to the fabulous Marcia and she confirmed that yes they are real. So there I go booking it Get to the monolithic doors and walked into a paradise lobby just short of fantasy island. Impressed that they had the courtesy of wearing masked, I was checked in super quick and went up to the 5 floor where I had room 534 waiting on me. Opening the door I seen the most luxurious bathroom with a deep tub to soak my weary traveled body while waiting on my Husband to arrive from jupiter. The king sized bed which I'm sure they just gathered clouds and stuffed them in a mattress, the wrap around balcony to soak in the heat of the Florida sun and the smells of the sea. Upon looking around the room I see a letter from the manager and a welcome kit with little snacks and a bottle of rosè waiting for my husband and I to pop open. This location is truly an experience like no other. My husband was in shock and awe over the beautiful accommodations. Oh the 2%. So had a little accident with the cordless phone where I pressed the guest services button but it called 911. The label was inverted but can't really say it made a huge issue and that wonderful manager Marcia was told about it and was right on it. Would I stay here again - absolutely Would I recommend - absolutely Would I tell my mother to come here - yes, even though the hot bodies may give her a heart attack

Yelp
**LONG DETAILED REVIEW** First off, according to Google this is a 4-star hotel. There is absolutely no way that this is actually a 4-star hotel (will explain below). Also, I want to say that I had read almost every review for this hotel on both Tripadvisor & Yelp prior to booking. I saw a fair amount of negative reviews and thought those people were just exaggerating or had one-off negative experiences. Unfortunately, now that I have stayed at the hotel, I have to confirm that a lot of those negative reviews are true. **CONS** 1. Hotel room photos are not accurate. The photos of the hotel you see on their website are for their main & newer building built in 2018. Unfortunately, there is a very high chance you will not be staying in their newer building as they have 2 other older buildings built in the 1930's right next to their newer building that they will most likely put you in (especially if you did not book directly through them or are not a loyalty member). When I first checked in, they told me I was going to be staying in their neighboring building that was older. No big deal, they told me that it was remodeled yearly so I expected equal quality amongst all their rooms. However, when the security guard walked us over to the next door building, I was shocked. First, I had to enter through their hotel restaurant front door and take a tiny elevator in the middle of the restaurant to go to the room. When I got to the hallway, there were huge bags of trash in the corner. Worst of all, when I got to the room, I noticed that the room looked nothing like their photos. The layout was completely different and the interior of the room was very old and dated. There were also stains on the rug! I ended up asking the front desk to move us to a different room due to the noisiness of the current room which was overlooking the hotel restaurant's back patio. Which leads to the 2nd point. 2. Hotel is so dirty. The front desk was kind enough to switch us to another more quiet room, however this room was also in another older building. When we got to the 2nd room, we instantly noticed how disgusting and dirty the room was. The room smelled of urine, not sure if it was the couch/rug but I actually think it was the vent that was pushing out smelly air. I febreezed the couch & rug and it still smelled like urine. There was so much dirt/dust/grime everywhere. I had to wipe everything down with Lysol wipes and you can see my photos attached of the dirt the Lysol wipes picked up. Also there was a dusty cup stain on the nightstand, meaning they didn't even bother to wipe that down. It was VERY obvious that the room was barely cleaned/not cleaned at all. I have NEVER stayed in a hotel this dirty before, and considering this is a time during COVID, this is completely unacceptable. I ultimately complained to management about how dirty the room was and showed them my dirty Lysol wipes were and requested to be put into the newer building. Fortunately they were very accommodating and moved us into a room in the newer building. Our 3rd and final room was still a bit grimy, but better than the last 2 rooms so we just dealt with it. Lastly, I wanted to talk about how disgusting the elevators were. The elevators stink! I have no idea how elevators could smell so bad but every time we walked in they smelled so bad. 3. The valet service is sooo slow. It can take anywhere from 10-30 minutes to get your car. Sometimes the valet person isn't even there when you show up and you're just waiting for them to come back so you can tell them to get your car. Once I called the front desk to ask the valet to get my car, and when I came down 15 min later I found the valet girl just standing around. She told me nobody had told her to get our car. If you're in a rush to get somewhere, you have to make sure you tell the valet FAR in advance to get your car. 4. Poor service/ hotel is short staffed. Multiple times I asked for housekeeping at night (11pm or so) and was told that they don't have housekeeping at night so they have to wait for the security guard to be available so that he can deliver your blankets and pillows if requested at night lol. A few times they completely forgot about my request for blankets and I waited an hour before calling down to front desk again to check on my request. Also, often times there is only one person working the front desk for check in, meaning that you will often find yourself waiting a long time to get helped since there is only one person working. 5. Hotel is not secure. Unlike most hotels nowadays, there is nothing that requires you to scan your key card to entire this hotel at night. Several of the rooms/buildings have open access to the public, meaning their stairwells up to the rooms are completely open/motel style where anybody from the street can just walk up and try to break into your room. Review to be continued...

Yelp
Awesome hotel. Great location, pool, clean and stylish rooms, great service, 5pm wine tasting and free bike, what else do you need for a great stay? Thank you very much. It was a wonderful vacation. Side note to the management: it would be wonderful to have a kettle in the room (which one brought me at my request, thank you very much) or a coffee machine, or better both lol.

Yelp
Very disappointing. We were here for our honeymoon, and it started off great. Warren is an amazing employee, and he helped us check in. Unfortunately, he wasn't there for the last few days of our stay. When they say this hotel is smoke-free, don't believe it. If it's important for you to stay at a smoke-free hotel for health reasons, do not stay here. No one enforces their smoke-free policy. I have asthma that's triggered by smoke, and the room next to ours was constantly smoking (both cigarette and marihuana) the last few days. The fact this hotel is supposedly smoke-free had been one of the reasons we picked it, but when I went to talk to front desk about this they basically told me "it was too bad I didn't say anything during the day because there was nothing they could do at night" All this after showing him my inhaler and explaining that I'm asthmatic and that the entire hallways and even my room smelled of smoke. The person at the front desk also said he had no rooms available for me because "there were no rooms of the same category left" and that "he could move me to a lower category room" which I think is ridiculous. What he should have done was offer me a higher category room if he didn't have the same one; but he didn't want to do that. In fact, he went and took me to the older side of the hotel and even tried to offer me one of those rooms! Said rooms were ancient and full of pollen and mildew, therefore I couldn't have stayed there either. He told me I should talk to Warren or Anthony the next day at a specific time in the morning to be assigned a different room, and when I went there, I couldn't find either. There was another man who after consulting with management wanted me to be ready to move rooms in less than half an hour, which wasn't a possibility for me because we had reservations for an activity and we couldn't stay. When we came back, switching rooms was no longer a possibility. Of course, the smoke was still there. No one offered an apology or compensation of any kind. Rooms were okay, but pretty basic. I liked the pool and the bar, but that's about it. The showers are very annoying, unnecessarily complicated to use. Will not be staying here again.

Yelp
I had the best experience when I came to this hotel and I went to the bar. They had beautiful outdoor seating and this bartender named Steven was helping us. He was so sweet he gave us great recommendations. We had the best spicy margaritas with Mezcal. His energy was upbeat he was friendly he was smart by far the best bartender I have ever had in Miami. The food was good as well they have tapas. And it was delicious.

Yelp
The hotel location is decent, the rooms were nice, staff were mostly helpful. But be warned, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT use the valet, unless you don't ever need your car and like paying for a service that you are not going to receive. When we asked the hotel about it, they stated it's a third party company that runs the valet service therefore things needs to be settled with them. Yet the valet stated that we needed to settle with the hotel, they just pass you back and forth like hot potato. Stayed at various Kimpton hotels both domestically and internationally, have had always received amazing service and strongly recommends every one of them, except this one.

Yelp
I would not stay here again. Cons - The front desk staff was unwelcoming. - Whenever it rained gross worms would crawl into our room. We stayed on the first floor so I'm not sure if this happens on higher levels. - Complimentary coffee is only served until 10am. That said, they do have Keurig machines you can request to be brought to your room but for some reason they only had decaf pods during our stay. - There is no fitness center on-site but you can walk 10 minutes to Orange Theory, which is complimentary. Pros - Conveniently located near the beach.

Yelp
Where do I begin?!? Booked our room over two months ago and was told upon arrival it wouldn't be ready until three nights into our stay. Told us we were put in a suite. Ha. Not a suite. Tried to complain but after three attempts at calling the front desk I had to call IHG. They wouldn't even answer when IHG called them. Party like atmosphere at all times. You can't hear anyone speak. Valet took over 30 minutes. Sketchy neighborhood. Just don't do it.

Yelp
stayed at the kimpton for my honeymoon. it was... definitely not worth the cost. they frequently understaff themselves so you're forced to wait as you watch one valet handle 6 other cars before you as there's only one, one server covers 12 tables at the breakfast place, you're nickled and dimed on things like a "green packaging fee" if you request a to-go box. $12 for a to-go box!? it's silly. it's gross. it's disrespectful. I'm disappointed by this experience.

Yelp
Hotel staff was super friendly, lobby smelled good, and the bar downstairs was nice. Complimentary La Colombe coffee in the AM, the breakfast buffet looked fresh. Social hour at the bar with free wine was great as well. The rooftop pool wasn't too crowded and was stocked with sunscreen & towels. We went to the morning HIIT class on the rooftop - it was definitely a great experience with a really friendly instructor. The room was cute, with large bottles of shampoo/conditioner so you don't have to use sparingly like other hotels. There is construction across the street, but once it's completed the area will look much nicer.

Yelp
The Kimpton Angler's Hotel was absolutely beautiful and very clean. The balcony view was amazing! The hotel is only a 6 minute walk away from South Beach, so the location was pretty convenient. My only complaint and the reason why I took a star off is because they put water bottles in the room and they cost $8 per bottle, which I thought was ridiculous. Overall, I recommend this hotel, it was very nice and clean.

Yelp
Do NOT book this hotel. I booked a queen suite and upon arrival was given a much smaller room than what I booked. They had overbooked and did not have the room that I booked available. We asked to be transferred to a room that would sleep 5 but instead were transferred to a room with only a King bed. We asked for them to put in an additional rollaway bed to make up for this multiple times and they never got to it during the duration of our stay. Throughout the time of our stay, we tried to speak with the managers about this, but were never able to, and continually received conflicting information from hotel staff. After leaving, I got an unauthorized charge for $1000 in addition to the amount that I paid to stay at this hotel. I was told this was an accident and that I would have to rectify this myself with booking.com. Staying here is not worth the inconvenience and terrible customer service that you will receive-- this was the worst hotel stay of my life.

Yelp
5 stars for Brandon! Top notch above and beyond service and Warren at the front desk for Keeping it classy! This place has spacious rooms with fun quaint balconies. The food is excellent. A little loud in the court yard pool area which echos voices, but thats standard. People are enjoying themselves and personally I think thats great.

Yelp
I absolutely love everything in this hotel, Pool omg is just everything you actually need, The design inside is amazing, rooms are perfect and always clean, They have amazing aroma perfume specially made for this hotel, my girlfriend really loves it. Free wine from 5-6 pm to socialize, wow. Lemon water on the pool deck and at the bar, refreshing. Lounge place outside, chill out, Recommended.

Yelp
Quality hotel with a nice feel and great rooftop pool. We enjoyed how central it is to everything in South Beach!

Yelp
The hotel is a nice upgrade from the prior anglers, the honeymoon went south quickly unfortunately, as the parking situation is horrible. There is only street parking or a garage two blocks away, so we tried to valet the car. We parked my car in the valet area on the street to only to later not be able to find the valet staff. When upstairs and when we came back the hotel valet towed the car, which ended up costing us $249.00+. The hotel agrees to pay half the bill, so that is better then nothing...good luck!

Yelp
Worst Kimpton ever . I stayed here for a week and no one answers the phone & if you valet your car you have to go down and get it . I upgraded even just because usually the one I stay it in Palm Springs is accommodating since I live in LA . You pay 45 to valet a night and then get treated like you don't exist . I would never stay here again and I travel to Miami because I'm from here. I get due to Covid but it's not an excuse to not multi task and answer a phone while you help guests . Horrible customer service ! I expected better but it was a nightmare from the beginning

Yelp
We had a great trip here in early December. Tried this spot bc we had stayed at a Kimpton not long ago. Lovely property and restaurant. the front desk staff, valets, and managers were great. The pool view is excellent, but the pool bartender and staff is off -- they seem annoyed, half-tired and on phone texting a lot, overall doesn't match the positive can-do vibe of the rest of Kimpton properties. In my job, I have to bring great upbeat energy all day, but you can't teqch good personality or friendliness i guess lol.

Yelp
Best thing about this hotel is size of the room. Rooms are very spacious and decorated super cute! It seems to be an old apartment building that was turned into a hotel. Our room had one and a half baths which was a plus. Service here is seriously lacking and for that reason and a few more I would not return. We did not have our room cleaned by 4:30pm so I asked a housekeeper if she cOuld please clean our room after she was finished with the room she was currently cleaning. She of course said yes but never showed up. On our way to dinner we asked the front desk staff if they could please have our room cleaned while we were gone to dinner. They said yes and when we returned two hours later no one had cleaned our room. We returned to the front desk agaIn and finally had someone drop off towels at 8:30pm. We never had room cleaned. Also asked receptionist if towels were available at pool and was told 'I don't know?' They do have towels at the pool btw. There was always a line at the front desk and they never seemed to care. We were never acknowledged while waiting. Just felt as if guests were a bother. Not how I want to feel at a hotel that I'm spending hard earned money and a good amount of it. The location is a few blocks from the beach and they do not offer any kind of beach chairs. Kind of a bummer. They don't have a gym. I ran the beach but had the weather been rainy I would have been disappointed to not have a place to workout in hotel.
