Kimpton Everly Hotel

My daughter and I went for a concert nearby . The staff were all so helpful and friendly! Especially the Front desk, Richard, who worked cheerfully to ensure our experience was friendly and topnotch! The hotel is comfortably stylish, artistic and the Bath divine! The Robes! Comfortable beds, quiet rooms, great views too! It made me fall in love with LA again! Great food, swanky bar and a great overall attention to detail and fun.

The Everly hotel in Hollywood was an amazing experience that was the cherry on top of our trip to LA! The rooms and atmosphere in the hotel were beautiful and the staff by the valet were so helpful taking care of my car. James especially was full of joy and made us feel welcomed. Jade was amazing as well and took care of us from the time we walked in to when we left. We will most definitely be coming back!

A lovely hotel situated close to the busy centre and the 101 freeway. The welcome was warm and friendly. The breakfast menu was good and delicious. The serving staff, in particular Omar and Tom, were an absolute delight. The plunge pool on the 5th floor is a town centre gem and great to have day off during such a busy vacation. Our bedroom was fabulous, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was spotless. The only bug bear is the extras to pay - not just here but all USA hotels and restaurants. The taxes. This is something that I was not aware of and they added considerable costs to our stay.

Room was spacious. Complementary coffee in the lobby gave you the option for Almond or Oat Milk which was a nice touch. You get a good view of the city. The design of the hotel is pleasant. I would sugges blackout curtains. I did not like the feel of bathrobe. It felt stiff, not poly-plush or soft. They do charge you a Guest Amenity Fee, which status/points do not cover or waive. This drops the value of the stay.

Excellent place! I highly recommend this hotel. Everyone we interacted with were so kind and professional. The lobby, pool, rooms and hotel overall are beautiful. They offer free champagne on checking in, and have a wonderful valet service that makes arrival a breeze. My only criticism is that the room could have been a bit cleaner, as I noticed a lot of lime buildup on the shower head, and the toilet could have been cleaner. Overall, worth the money and definitely a luxurious experience.

Pros . Location, service and rooms. Cons. Basic amenities like hot water kettle are a request . Water bottle at 8 dollars in the room? Their 15 $ redemption per day also needs to be looked into, it is per day not cumulative for the days you stay. Plus. Requests are carried out neatly and within reasonable time frame. Evening happy hours of wine and morning coffee are complimentary. Their location is outstanding, walking distance to walk of fame, pantages , Dolby and Chinese theatres.

There's a lot of good to say about the Kimpton Everly, as well as several areas where the hotel fell short -- and there are easy fixes. |Check in was flawless, the team was helpful, and my room was very Kimpton nice -- good sized, with a comfortable couch and room for streching on the provided yoga mat. |The lobby was lovely as well. |But...|-- The stay was during an LA heat wave, and though my room was cool, the lobby area (including the bar) was extremely warm, as were all the hallways in the hotel. It was as if those areas lacked climate control.|--The same issue -- too warm -- was true in the gym, which I used two mornings in a row. I go there to sweat -- but from the workout, not the lack of AC. And on the second day, there were no towels in the gym.. None. |-- Another service oversight: After cleaning the room after my first night, housekeeping neglected to provide any wash towels, something I didn't realize until ready to shower at 6 a.m. the next morning. |-- I didn't realize until waking up in the morning that the rooms have no coffee maker. You have to ask for one, and they will bring it to you. |-- The restaurant was supposed to open at 7 for breakfast, but it didn't open til after 7:10, which made it challenging to get to my business meeting on time. When I asked the front desk I was told, "7 means around 7.''|All are tiny oversights, just tiny service issues, easy corrected,. and I hope they will be....

This is a great Kimpton hotel. The excellent staff, a delicious and modern California-style restaurant, a solid location as close to the heart of old Hollywood as you'd want to be and a spacious, well decorated and comfortable room. No place is perfect, of course, but for the things that matter most, it beats many hotels that cost twice as much. We'd go back in a heartbeat.

Friendly, comfortable hotel- great cocktail at happy hour. Gina in the Jane Q restaurant gave wonderful service, was cheerful, attentive, and personal. would definitely come back!

I attended a Bosnia and Herzegovina travel agent event in one of the lower level rooms. The valet entrance is a little tricky and steep but the valet guys are quick to take your car and retrieve it. The lobby is not a grand luxurious lobby but it's adequate for the small space the hotel takes up on this city block.

Visited the Rooftop of the Hotel for an event and let me tell you what an experience. VIP service, execution, and incredible welcome. The check in to the event was seamless they had prints available for the first 100 guests, when you went up the elevator and arrived at the rooftop you were greeted with a refreshing beverage from the wonderful staff, there were popsicle and water stations around since it was held during the middle of a massive heat wave. Big props to Corey and his whole team at the hotel, what a night, what an experience would definitely stay at this hotel, attend any events they happen to do in the future. If I could book that rooftop for any event in the future I would jump at the chance.

Absolutely beautiful hotel in a prime location near Hollywood. Never stayed at Kimpton so I decided to give it a shot when I needed a place to stay for a night in LA for a dinner event. The rooms are impressively clean, the staff were nice and accommodating. They switched us to a double bed room instead of a king bed room upon check in without any issues. Amenities such as the gym and pool were amazing. The pool has a great view overlooking the city. The gym has an Peloton bike. Complimentary coffee and teas each morning with a really comfortable lobby area. There's a full size bar and pool table for guests to use until midnight. Jane Q is the restaurant and cafe in the hotel, giving a high end dining feel especially for brunch. The only complaint I can name for the hotel is the valet only parking. The cost is $55 per night which is extremely steep I think even for LA.

I had high hopes as I am a Kimpton fan. The Everly was a dirty little place with angry and combative service. It's cute though. The pizza place downstairs was good too. The pool was cold and closes at 8pm. The valet was run ragged but kept a smile on his face. My least favorite parts were the dirty corners and my room had old soap and an old rag left. I could also hear my neighbors convo in the bathroom through the vents. Views were cute. Nothing really walkable from here though.

I went to the hotel on 9/27/24 around 12:15pm to find out more about cowork+EVERLY. The front desk staff was not forthcoming with details. The only information they gave me was "It's just the lobby area." The membership includes pool usage, but I had to do my own research to find out about that. The older gentleman who was at the front desk "assisting" me was appalled I asked him if the changing room for the pool had showers. He told me if I were to use the pool, I could only change my clothes. Apparently the hotel doesn't care that it is recommended that you rinse off before you enter the pool and shower after using the pool to wash off chlorine. The lobby was loud so you couldn't take a meeting and there were limited electrical outlets. There is no way it can be used as a workspace. I would much rather keep my 24hr gym membership and go to Industrious, a co-working space in West Hollywood where they serve breakfast, snacks, have an open workspace where you can get work done.

My friend and I recently stayed at this Boutique Hotel for 4 nights. Service was excellent from the front desk and valet. The lobby is quite impressive. A lot of seating, chairs, couches to relax on with nice artwork surrounding. The Bar was beautiful with a nice touch of a free Happy Hour daily. In the morning the bar area sets up complementary coffee and tea. Good to note because the rooms do not have coffee makers. They have a pool table and free candy counter which unfortunately were both commandeered by little kids throwing the pool balls and sticking their hands in the candy jars instead of using the tongs and candy bags every time I glanced over. The rooms were nice, spacious with a mini fridge and safe and 2 big complimentary soda waters. Bathroom was nicely designed. I took advantage of the gym, plenty of Cardio, weights and my favorite, a Peloton bike. For a Boutique Hotel, there are some definite improvements that could be made. 1. On the surface the hotel looks clean, our room needed a deep clean, cup stains on all the surface tops and bathroom counters. Carpet didn't feel clean. Room walls had splash marks. Thank goodness I always carry Clorox wipes with me. 2. Bathroom shower had no door and the half glass wall was not sufficient in keeping the water in. Design Flaw. We put the bath mat down and it was soaked, like dripping soaked. 3. Towel shortage: when we arrived in our room there were only 3 bath towels, that was it. I called housekeeping on 2 occasions for more bath, hand and wash clothes in lieu of cleaning our room daily. Towels took forever to be delivered. 4. Gym, well equip but not clean. Water dispenser overflowing. There were plenty of wipes the 4 days I used it. No towels again... a tiny rack that holds 6 towels. Other than that all was good. Would I stay again if I had to stay on downtown LA, Yes

We stayed here for one night so that we were close to universal studios which is about 5 mins away. I enjoyed seeing the Hollywood sign from our room (b/c the kid was excited) but did not enjoy seeing the homeless people right outside the window (welcome to Cali). Anyway, the hotel has good amenities; $15 comp and HH. Parking is $60 a night so I guess there is a balance there. The shower was not clean and we found hair in the sheets and the shower. We also noticed black mold in the shower. The room itself did not feel clean or have a fresh scent.

We stayed at the Everly for four nights last week. Using the social password at check in allowed us to select from several cards that were face down. We were told the prizes included free parking, a movie, and a bottle of champagne among others. We lucked out when I selected a complimentary upgrade from our king city view to a junior suite city view. Can we talked about the claw footed soaker tub? Amazing. Housekeeping included some lovely smelling bath salts on one of the days. The hotel was extremely quiet, which was especially surprising during Pride Week. The city view was incredible, and the wall to wall window treatments allowed us to avoid almost all light if we wanted to sleep in. If you drive your own car, be aware that the hotel entrance in incredibly steep, as are the overnight parking fees. We utilized Uber, and most drivers opted to pick up on the street to avoid the incline.

Last but not least, many thanks to the wonderful and professional employees Monse, Jade and Ivan -- they offered us many suggestions and information during our stay. I haven't stayed at this hotel but I'm leaving a review about their 'co-working space.' They advertise on their website that they have a co-working space at their hotel. I called and spoke to someone in their sales department who invited me to come to the hotel and tour the space. I head out there and find out that they charge you a fee to sit in their lobby?? Seriously??? Who is going to pay a fee to sit in their lobby and how could you possibly work like that? Come on people.

Kimpton cool in downtown LA. Hipster heaven ~ modern style decor, rooftop pool, pool table at the lobby bar, walkable to the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Sweet Suite ~ cityscape views of downtown LA, classic Kimpton Atelier Bloem toiletries frankly the best fragrances, soaking tub and shower to wash off that traffic smog at the end of the day. Front Desk Service ~ not sure what it is, but ever since Kimpton was acquired by IHG, it has not been the same Kimpton quality you used to get as a status member. It was a bit snooty at times. Many times. Social Hour ~ no direction where or what time. The wine was past undrinkable. Worst was the bartender service. Out of the three we experienced, all three need to be retrained. Cocktails need a remake. Valet ~ expensive. Plan way ahead because it takes forever and a day to get your car. No logical order who gets their vehicle first. You can complain but refer back to the service review. Lobby Lounge ~ so spacious! Low level couches all around to chill in. A sectioned glass walled room for a little more set-apart from the active noise. Pool table was cracking balls at night. Doggie Downside ~ very difficult to walk the pup in an area that is surrounded by riffraff. Across the street is an abandoned building right in front of the hotel with patches of grass. Walking up it trashed not fit for your loved one. Try not to walk alone at night. Jane Q ~ awesome. Though understaffed, they hustled. Service smiley & professional. Open kitchen revealed cooks busting out of their aprons during the rush. Thoughtful breakfast menu and very tasty. Will advise to wake up a little earlier to beat the busy morning slam. All in all, the awesome amenities evened out the unequaled Everly service.

The hotel is just okay. To be Fair, this was not my first choice for a hotel but I like to explore and walk around in neighborhoods when I travel. I was looking for a hotel in Hollywood which was walking distance to specific places near Hollywood Blvd so I can avoid driving and parking. But I am not planning to stay here again. It's nothing against the hotel. It's about how I never liked Hollywood and the surrounding areas (it's not particularly safe. It can be shady when you head east in Hollywood Blvd. I got pan handled a few times while walking the Blvd). In regards to the hotel, it was a decent place to stay and sleep so I can specifically see what I wanted to see in Hollywood without driving. It was particularly warm day so I took advantage of their rooftop pool which I needed and was refreshing. They also have complimentary coffee and wine in the morning and at 5pm. My only minor issue with the bathroom is that I had a clawed tub in the bathroom with a shower and no door. The water was often splashing onto the floor by the sink. It constantly needed drying. There really should be a door or a curtain.

4.5 stars rounded up We booked this hotel for its proximity to a show we were attending on Hollywood Blvd. so we'd have the convenient option to walk or take a super short Uber ride. Phenomenal service from the front desk. The woman who checked us in was warm, welcoming, & informative; she offered early check-in & late-check-out for being IHG members. After we checked out, we wanted to walk around unencumbered so we left our bags with another employee who promptly whisked them away to a secure area, a much-appreciated gesture as I'm traumatized by hotels who have left our bags vulnerable to theft, sitting out while they attended to other matters. Our fifth-floor room was steps from the pool. Perfect temperature. So indulgent to swim surrounded by LA's concrete jungle. Without giving it much thought we requested a room facing the Hollywood sign rather than the city; the iconic sign is teeny-tiny in the distance but what is front & center is a busy freeway, so request the city view! Despite this, our room was quiet, so no harm, no foul there. Some criticism: shower set up is a bit odd with only half a glass panel, & thermostat only goes up to 75° with a fan that doesn't put out warm air so room was a bit chilly. Aside from these minor issues, we enjoyed our stay. Our room was clean & the Kimpton Everly is modern. The lobby & bar areas were decked out in festive decor & have plenty of seating areas for socializing and/or lounging. They've gained a repeat customer!

The location is very nice, close to Hollywood street and they have the room with the view of Hollywood sign. The lobby area is very pleasant to hang out. They give you an welcoming champagne and a free drink at the bar with a coupon on the bed when you enter the room! Very cute! Their swimming pool and deck sitting area on 5th floor is spacious and pretty. Also, the room with bathtub is must! Love their bathroom with the bathtub!!! Must try. You need to ask for the coffee machine and some other stuffs and no complimentary water in the room. The fridge is super small but other than that everything was very nice. People are super kind too. I would go back to this hotel when visiting LA again.

Went here for a work dinner . Manager was super sweet and bartender was amazing but our server was rude and nasty somewhat atrocious behavior I believe her name was Sophie or Sophia. She refused to even give us ketchup or butter she said they didn't have any but when we asked manager she gave us some !!! So just being nasty for no reason . !!!!! Would come back again with another server ! Rude and LAZY!!!

Terrific hotel. Nice, but limited, restaurant. Walking distance to the Pantages Theater. Helpful staff. Great service.

We spent the day at the rooftop pool last weekend and had a wonderful time. The dj's were pretty good. Our cocktail waitress, Stephanie was amazing. She worked the crowded pool with Grace and ease with a big smile and fun swagger. She took really great care of us and kinda made our day. The entire staff at the rooftop was wonderful actually,  including and especially the new manager, Dani (Danielle). You can tell she's a great new addition to the Kimpton Everly. We'll be back!

Very nice hotel. Lobby area is very nice. Rooms are nice although AC was lacking. Room was pretty hot.

Morning cleaning crew has a bad attitude: My husband and I went to the lobby bathroom and the men's room had a caution wet floor sign there, and then when he opened the door some little Spanish woman with red hair stopped him abruptly and gave him a nasty look and said something in another language while pointing to the sign and then slammed the door in his face. Why is it so hard to find civil help and why are they doing that during obvious busy morning traffic?

Valet is incredibly slow and backed up, with only one guy running 100-yard dashes to and from - it takes a long time to get your car. I give 'em credit though, they're hustling! It's the hotel's fault for not hiring more staff Cafe hours are sporadic, closes randomly at a whim. Internet pretty much sucks, and is basically useless, The weekend poolside club scene attracts the kids, and has the loudest DJ on earth, and just ruins everything! If you're looking for a dance rave, go to a nightclub, not a rooftop pool the size of a tub. The good news is, the staff was nice, accommodating, and gracious. The lobby is freakin' awesome, plenty of couches, tables, and places to work and chill. It's great for events and gatherings. Bar is dope, great drinks. Rooms are nice, and quiet (if you're not facing the pool or highway). When the cafe is open, the food, coffee, etc is really good. Sadly when the cafe is open, all the grease smells and food scents spill into the lobby and lounge space, so the whole main entrance, lounge and bar area can sometimes smell like a cheap diner. LA has become the armpit of America. Post-covid has spawned a lot of homeless, tent cities, crazies, road rage, crime, and overall angst. This town has lost it's mojo. People are living out of their cars and RVs. It's a cesspool. Save your money, go somewhere else.

What a great staycation getaway. The hotel is literally two streets over from the heart of Hollywood. We could see the paramount building, downtown LA skyline, the W hotel, and Capitol records building all in one view from our city view room. Definitely get the city view room! Otherwise I think you will end up looking at the freeway on the other side. Very modern, clean, nice hotel! I will definitely book again if I am in town.

Great stay! Great drinks & Food. Staff made us feel right at home and poured us champagne welcome drinks! The room was wheelchair accessible as well so that was great oh ! They had a pool table too! So much fun.

The hotel presents well. It's in a good central location for all sorts of entertainment and events as well as restaurants and businesses. We stayed so we could see a concert at the Hollywood Bowl. The downsides: our experience in the downstairs kitchen was disappointing and the staff seemed friendly but patrons waited too long and they got our order wrong. We had to borrow set ups and water glasses from somewhere else. The upstairs bar was beautiful but the bartender was so unenthusiastic and rude she made the whole experience uncomfortable. We also had little to no hot water in the room next morning.

Came to stay the night for prom and everything went great! Fun hotel and even better staff. I ended up leaving something at the hotel and the front desk service was incredible. Chris helped me out and was so kind. Great experience and I really appreciate Chris!!

I had read the reviews in advance and still decided to stay here. Why, you might ask? The location and the roof top pool. Plus, it's a Kimpton. The service should be 4 stars. In general I was underwhelmed. Let's start with the valet. You have to valet here which is about $50 a day, so add it to your room rate when you book so you can get the best rate. As others have mentioned, it can take about 15 minutes to get your car, so plan accordingly. What I didn't realize is that there are ways to game the system. For example, one day I was waiting in the valet line. I was the third person. I had been there about 10 minutes when I saw a large family go to the front desk and ask for their car. They refused to wait in the valet line and when I go to the front, about 5 minutes later, I was told I had to continue to wait because they had called down ahead of me. So, just by refusing to wait in the valet line and rather ask the front desk (literally 5 feet from the valet stand) to grab their car, they got to jump the line. I did complain to the front desk, who told me they were sorry and couldn't do anything about it. My other concerns about my stay had to do with air conditioning and hot water. Neither of which worked for the first two days. Once I complained I was met with a pretty nasty reaction from the front desk. They were mad I didn't report it sooner. I mentioned I had read in Yelp and Google reviews that both were a problem, so I didn't think much of it at first, but once it continued to be a problem, coupled with other issues it was time to see if anything could be done. My room was set for 65 but wouldn't get below 78, so that was obviously bad. Both were fixed once I complained. But there wasn't ever a feedback loop letting me know someone had come to fix it. I learned the air conditioning only activated when you're in the room so it will not work when you're not moving (sleeping) or when you're not in the room. So, when I came back from my day out, and the temp hadn't changed, I called the front desk to inquire if anything had been done. I got a really snotty response saying they sent someone. I still don't understand how they didn't ask them if they were able to fix the issue. Follow up is important, it wouldn't have taken much for them to call me and let me now if the issue was resolved or not. My room was also not cleaned on the second day even though I was out of the room between 9 am to 4:30 pm. When I complained around 4:30 pm I was told housekeeping was leaving soon and there was no guarantee it would be cleaned. Again, I got some apologies, but that was it. I hate to be that person, but I did tell the front desk staff member that "I'm sorry" seemed to be all I was getting to that point and really wasn't good enough. Oddly, that seemed to be enough to get my room cleaned. I did get a small room service charge removed from the bill as an apology for all the issues. That room service charge should have been comped anyway since they told me room service ended at 9 pm when the flyer they gave me at check-in said 10 pm. I only ended up getting room service at 9:10 pm when I called them out on it and a manager stepped in. But he also didn't seem to believe me and needed to verify the flyer his staff gave me. Overall, this Kimpton has a lot of work to do. Some of it has to do with maintenance, but most of it has to do with service. The valet system needs to be streamlined so there aren't ways to jump the line. The staff needs to be trained in customer service. I honestly should have been comped two nights of my stay for the bad service they provided. I get they need to make money, but they also need to do a lot better

It's a good middle of the road experience for our overnight trip. Location: Right off the freeway. Opt for a non-Hollywood sign view to be a little quieter. It's one block north of the Hollywood stars, but far enough while still being close to the main tourist attractions (we walked from the Chinese Theater back to the hotel with no issue). Rooms: Nicely appointed, minimal in design. For an LA hotel, the number of outlets definitely were lacking. Only one outlet and one USB next to the bed in a two queen room. Others have commented on the bathroom shower (it's a half glass door). Not the most user friendly for staying warm in the shower or for splashing water, but it works. In a post COVID world, I wasn't ecstatic to see that the shower bottles of shampoo, condition and body wash didn't have a locking top. Guests can easily open them as they're not mounted. Service: Called the day prior to confirm the reservation and ask a few questions. Desk clerk wasn't the nicest over the phone. Staff at check in were nice. An early check in and late check out was accommodated for being a Gold IHG Rewards Member. Received two welcome glasses of champagne. Valet: Slow, like many others have said, and at times was backed up. The drive up round about was confusing, so watch for the signs on where to enter the steep driveway. Bonus: We drive a Tesla and saw they had EV charging. With our adapter, the valet parked and charged our car for us, no additional cost - which is a plus! Amenities: Pool deck was nice, smaller than some, and I wouldn't say it's 100% a rooftop pool with it being on the 5th floor. Fitness center was well equipped. Pool table off the front door was a nice activity. Food and beverage: JaneQ downstairs was a nice lunch and breakfast spot. Ever Bar was confusing as we sat down at the couch spot closest to the bar, but never received service and saw people coming after ordering directly at the bar. Shame as we wasted time and wanted a few cocktails before heading to the concert. Coffee was downstairs in the morning, which we didn't know about, with a variety of milk options. Overall, not a bad stay. There was a wedding going on, and the hotel was pretty full. The wedding itself closed the pool desk early, and when we got back after the concert, the lobby lounge area was closed. Not super inconvenient, but those are the only two really public areas outside of your room to enjoy. If the price is right, we'd stay at the Everly again.

Well, let me begin by pulling into the parking of the hotel. You have to flaw car up incline. If a car is there you have to stay at the bottom. Not very safe. They said had it other way around but changed it. Also, no mirrors on the wall to see if a car coming down the street or people. Safety is more important than looks. When we checked in the gentleman was beyond rude it seemed like we were bothering him. Honestly, you shouldn't have. A person like that represents your hotel. The first person you meet is overall of the hotel. He never offered us the free champagne when checking in. When we mentioned he said I have no glasses! WRONG He should have responded let me finish checking you in and then I'll get you guys a glass of champagne! Nope, all attitude. Our room was ok it was a view of the city. The bathroom was nice. If I'm paying over 200 a night should look better. The ceiling had masses of water damage prior . It seemed they did a cheap cover up . When laying down all I thought please don't leak again. They had a roof area not like the guy gave us any info found it out from the valet guys . Honestly seems only nice people who work at the hotel. No mention of the free coffee downstairs . Again only valet guys told us. Maybe they should work in the front when checking in. Also parking $54 dollars a day seems a lot . Location great close to the highways and. Stuff to do. Some homeless around nobody bother us. All my complaints was parking , hotel ceiling and Most of all the rude guy who checked us in!!!! Did I mention the rude guy who checked us in. After my return of course people ask about your hotel. First thing I mentioned was rude guy who checked us in. See first impression make a difference . I probably look for another place that more friendlier .

When staying in Los Angeles the Kimpton Everly is the place to stay. From the moment we drove up to the hotel, the parking attendant welcomed us with a warm smile. The gentleman at the front desk, Richard and Ivan were friendly and quickly checked us in. The lobby area is comfy with a gorgeous bar. The complementary wine hour is an added treat. I would definitely recommend staying here, not only for the friendly staff, the rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. The restaurant in the hotel also has a delicious pizza.

Super quiet for being a 3 day weekend. Only heard 1 person slam their door at 3am. Probably the quietest hotel I've ever been in. Beautiful views out the window. Beautiful bathroom. Great avocado toast for breakfast. Staff wasn't friendly but they weren't rude. They were just silent really. Valet parking only for $54. Which is quite high. They have a social hour from 5-6pm. Also a bar from 5pm-midnight. Overall I'd love to come back.

This hotel really undersells itself on the website. From the website, I was expecting a sedate, possibly uptight hotel, but the opposite turned out to be true. This is a very hip hotel about half a mile from Hollywood & Vine, with a view of Capitol Records, that seemed to have a young, up-and-coming clientele. The rooms were nice, and similar to, though perhaps not as nice as, the rooms at other Kimptons I've stayed in in California. They've done a good job of making the hotel social. The lobby area has a huge selling point: Ever bar, which is designed as a modern living room. There is a pool table on one side, numerous couches and then another room with enormous modern blue velour sofas. There's a restaurant downstairs, so you could carry food upstairs and eat it in the living room. In addition to the living room in the lobby, the pool is awesome, offering a gorgeous view overlooking the city and a constant soundtrack that's just right. They did a nice job creating different gathering areas around the pool area. Our room opened out onto the pool area so it was easy to get to. They even provided a plush bed for my dog. Downstairs, the fitness center is well-equipped, and I believe I saw a ping pong table too. The hotel is very close to things to do--the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Pantages and more. Down sides: You must valet, and it's not cheap. The alternative is parking on the street, which is less than ideal. Be aware there are numerous homeless encampments in the area (as would be normal in most urban areas of Los Angeles). Also, I was surprised by the way their pet waiver was worded. Clearly some irresponsible guests have left their dogs in their room alone and they've disturbed others or destroyed the rooms. I had to sign that there would be extra, and unspecified, charges if my dog barked or caused any linens to be cleaned, among more extreme things. But given a bit of a party vibe at the hotel, I felt that was a double standard--the humans weren't promising to be quiet. At any rate, the verbiage was a bit offputting considering the Kimpton brand stands for a dog-friendly upscale choice. All that said, the price was very reasonable and the value was high, especially for a dog-friendly hotel with no extra dog fees, and in this area. My star rating compares this only to other Kimpton I have stayed at.

We're actually locals, we live in DTLA but were attending a concert in Hollywood, and y'all know how it is getting a lyft/uber in this area these days so we figured screw it, let's get a room that's walkable to our concert venue and do a little one-night "staycation." We arrived at 2, our check-in time was 3. We're told to wait "just a few" in the lobby, and I'm thinking cool, let's post up at the bar and start the party while we wait--no biggie! Imagine my dismay as we strolled to the bar to find ... a sign telling us the bar doesn't open til 5. If you're gonna make me wait to check in, at least have the bar open--this irked me from the jump. Then come to find out the "just a few" minutes we were told was actually BS, and they made us sit there until 2:50 before we could have our room. Like, I get that we were a little early. But it ain't like we tried to check at noon, if check out was at 11AM, and it's now 2, you're telling me no rooms have been fully cleaned in that time? I found this hard to believe but, I digress. As to the rooms themselves, pretty dang nice. Definitely recently renovated, particularly I thought the bathroom was nice although they have that weird no door thing going on with the showers? Y'all know what I'm talking about? Anywho, we had a room that was classified as "city view" and that lived up to the billing for sure, we were there on a particularly clear day and you had panoramic view that stretched from DTLA to Culver and even Santa Monica. Pretty cool. I think you can get a room on the other side too that faces the Hollywood sign, if you're feeling the touristy vibe. Definitely very walkable to some of the most popular venues in Hollywood, so that was a major plus. The essentially mandatory $50 valet is ... something else lol I'm not even gonna go there guys. Overall for the price I felt like this place was good but not great, and most of that which was lacking related to service moreso than the room/hotel itself. A decent option if you've got the skrilla and you're in the area for one thing or another.

Lobby and bar were nice enough. Room was average. I expected more for 500 plus per night. The ceiling in the room repair was not completed. Carpet didn't feel clean. View includes Hollywood sign and a homeless encampment.

The Everly Hotel is just okay. 1. No free parking for Spire Ambassadors 2. Once you turn on the water in the shower it will flood the bathroom floor. The shower head cannot be adjusted. 3. The mini bar prices are very high. Some hotels not charge lower prices so guests do not feel that the hotel is overcharging. 4. The parking is $45.00 per night. 5. The rooms are very small. I wouldn't return to the hotel with the exception of eating at Jane Q (which is very good). Another strange thing is barking dogs in the lobby. For a hotel of this caliber I would think that should be against the pet policy. The owners of these dogs don't seem to care which is very strange. I love dogs, but I don't feel that 150 pound dogs should be barking in the lobby. That was very strange.

The staff absolutely went above and beyond. We booked this hotel site unseen for an event. It is very dog friendly so we brought our pups along. The room was very clean, spacious and had an amazing direct view of the Hollywood sign. Those are the pluses, the cons... the area is not the best. I was very very hesitant to walk my pups in the area, which leads me to my second con; for being such a fantastically pet friendly hotel, they have zero pet areas, pet relief areas, grassy areas, etc. You are forced to walk through a homeless encampment around the corner or across the street at an apartment complex where a car was out front with all its windows shattered and glass all over the floor. Not ideal at all for pets and not ideal as a single woman at night. This hotel would really benefit if it had areas for pets. hopefully they will take this under advisement otherwise pet travelers beware.

ALERT. They charged me over $900.00 dollars for one night and refuse to explain. They tell me to "call back when you calm down" (no profanity, no yelling and nothing over the top, I had to explain that charging nearly $1000.00 for a one night stay promised at $250.00 would actually be upsetting to many people, and being put off repeatedly on the phone and also told that they didn't do it when it is holiday time is very upsetting but I had not intention of being rude, I just needed the money refunded and she is telling me that it didn't happen . It is there in black and white, witnessed by the banker, etc.

I had quite the experience here. Unforgettable without a doubt. I was visiting CA from Florida and stayed here the first night of my trip. Felt such a lively surge of energy from the moment I walked in. Marissa checked me in and was so kind and helpful. A quick, smooth and easy check in. As soon as I was in the elevator heading up to my room I received a text message welcoming me and notifying me I could text for assistance with anything during my stay. I settled in and changed clothes to go to the rooftop pool. This is where it got interesting lol but prior to the pool I ordered lunch at the hotel restaurant (Jane Q). I had the most delicious pork belly Bahn mi! I took it up to the pool to eat there. I finished my lunch and people were coming and going to/from the pool area. The views are amazing up there and there are various lounge/sun bathing areas all with fantastic views of Hollywood. About 1/2 and hour to an hour from the moment I arrived at the pool, out of nowhere a swarm of thousands of bees just appears in one of the cabana areas. Some people were frantic and left immediately. I was honestly in awe and in a daze recording it all, an omen for sure (i thought) haha. Eventually I was one of the last ones there but went down to the lobby and notified Marissa. I'm not sure what happened (to the bees) after that but I went back up to my room, rested a bit then had dinner at Jane Q that evening. They offer a complimentary drink at the bar for hotel guests. After dinner my roomie/guest and I hung out at the bar for a bit. This hotel stay was a wonderful experience! Very appreciative of the beautiful aesthetic throughout the entire hotel but honestly nothing compares to the service and the energy! I plan on returning here anytime I visit California! Thank You Marissa for making my stay so pleasant! :) You are the best!

Cockroaches. The large ones with wings. Need I say more? Immediately called the front desk and the gal was super helpful (she gets the other 4 stars, kiana!), got me a new room asap, but the next room was unfortunately just dirty and smelly. This is my second time staying in this hotel and I will definitely not be back. Can't handle bugs or overpriced hotels that are about as clean as a Motel 6!

Pretty but weird. The service is so questionable there's no one at the bar, no pool service and feels like no one works here. The restaurant is slow even when there's no one eating there. There's no music by the pool. Overall awkward experience

Lovely boutique hotel just off the highway in the heart of downtown Hollywood. I stayed here for one night for a business trip. The king room was spacious with a huge bed, sofa, desk, chair, mini fridge, and closet. Each room also comes with a yoga mat if you need it. Not all rooms face the Hollywood sign, but you'll get a great city view on the other side. The bathroom was nice, though an interesting design. The shower only has half a divider, so water can splash out into the rest of the bathroom. Also, the bathroom door is also a slider door and doesn't really "close" completely per se, so keep that in mind if you're sharing a room with someone else. There's an outdoor pool and lounge area on the 5th floor with great city views too. The fitness center and conference rooms are on the lower level. Unfortunately there doesn't appear to be parking at this hotel (paid or free). There's a restaurant/bar on the first/lower level which is where they have complimentary coffee in the morning for a few hours. Almost all facilities including the elevator and ice rooms on each floor require a key card to access. The staff was very polite and friendly when helping me check in and out, and offered polite hellos when passing me in the hallways, so I didn't have any issues there during my stay. Prices here were a bit on the higher side since it is boutique, but it was a very comfortable stay.

That alone prevents me from wanting to stay here again Sketchy area, multiple home encampments around, doesn't feel safe to walk around the area

This Hotel the Everly was going to be are one night get away and a fun evening at Hollywood Bowl. We checked in and there were a few problems checking in however it seemed to work out, we booked two rooms and received two keys to each room, the next morning checking out they charged additional 600.00 dollars. They simply made a mistake yet couldn't refund the money, had to wait two weeks for refund. I found it to be unkept, dirty floors, sheets had stains on them. Convenient to Hollywood Bowl but next time I'll be trying a different Hotel.

Stayed at this hotel to begin my 10 day California trip for two nights. Conveniently located in the Hollywood area, which were near attractions such as the TLC Chinese Theatre, Hollywood Walk of Fame, Hollywood Sign, and other attractions. A pretty modern hotel with a swimming pool, massive lounge area where you can do work, although there is only one table that's suitable to do laptop work. There's a pool table as well that could use some resurfacing, but does the trick. Massive door as the entry to the hotel, which threw me off on the first day. Otherwise, a really nice lobby. Service is pretty good. The employees are pretty friendly for the most part and accommodating to any requests made, which included requesting a microwave, as for some reason none of the hotels I stayed at on this trip had a microwave. The room itself is the most spacious during the trip. One king sized bed, a long sofa that could easily seat 5 or so people, nice view of the city, and massive desk space to do any work if you're working from home. The only complaint I have would be the shower, as it is a walk in shower, but only consist of a glass panel that covers half the shower, so all of the water will splash out and you end up with a huge puddle on the bathroom floor. Otherwise it's a really nice design. Also, they should put up artwork instead of thumbtacking some art printed off the printer used as sad excuses for decorating the room.

I was looking forward to this experience and in hindsight I should have looked closer. Front desks service was great, room was clean and the bathrooms w/ the shared tub and shower rooms are really nice but everything else is really basic. No drink/food service at the pool deck, the bar was only open from 5pm-9pm daily and what you think is a restaurant on the website is a cafe that we didnt see anyone at when we got in at 4 pm and when we woke up the next morning at went down at 7am for coffee. I'm ok w/ that but not what I was expecting from a place that advertises themselves as a 4 star hotel and charges me $509 for a single night including parking.

Great location, as it's by the 101 and easy to get to Ktown, Hollywood, Beverly center. Great views, good shower water pressure, room was in good shape but not super clean (dust around the couch and night stands). The bartender was excellent--he made one of the best Old Fashions I have ever had. Restaurant was ok, but not worth the price I thought. Our main problem was with the plumbing though--the sink seemed to have a direct connection to the sewer, so basically it smelled like someone just deuced in the sink. Told the front desk, and they said no one else had mentioned it, but didn't send anyone up to fix it. Also, the pool was kind of small and dirty. For the luxury prices they charge, it didn't feel super luxurious.

I looooove Kimptons. I'm an IHG member and have stayed at multiple. The Everly did not disappoint. So beautiful. The Jane Q restaurant makes real restaurant quality food and coffee that was so convenient and perfect for us. The pool is a bit small but I scored a cabana and relaxed all afternoon on a perfect sunny LA day. As always, Kimpton staff go above and beyond. Service is excellent here. And the Kimptons always have little perks and details that I love. We also brought our little senior poodle. Love that pets stay without an extra fee. The only downside of the Everly is that there is no designated pet relief area and the surrounding area is paved sidewalks and gets sketchy. It's Hollywood after all. We just used a tiny grass patch at the apartments across the street.

The Everly is a beautiful hotel located in the heart of Hollywood. We visited pre-covid for a Luau-mexican fusion type of brunch on the rooftop and it was marvelous. The drinks were pricey (paid $14 for a Gin and tonic) but at least the brunch was free through surkus so can't complain I guess. They had a whole roasted pig, rice and beans, salads and other side dishes for the brunch. The rooftop pool is definitely a nice spot to sip your drink while you watch helicopters and planes pass by above you. My favorite part of the hotel is the lobby/bar area downstairs. They have a full bar, plenty of seating to work/study, a pool table and a cafe. You have everything you need just down here in the lobby area. I would definitely go back to get drinks at the bar in the lobby, I bet they can give me a better drink than a $14 gin and tonic over here.
