Before eating at Kin Kub Koi (KKK), I’d never been to Pinklao. And for good reason, because besides massive gated housing communities, there isn’t much there.
It’s also off the beaten path. However, it is home to KKK, a sprawling Michelin-starred seafood restaurant that is hugely popular.
KKK’s size and scale are immediately apparent - the restaurant car park is nearly the same size as a small city airport car park. Entering, I like how the staff line up to greet you as you enter one of the several large dining spaces.
We had a big party of 19, enabling us to order a lot - crab, river prawns, prawns, cockles, clams, crab eggs, mantis prawns, and more. They were fried, spiced, steamed, deep fried, baked, etc, and while I liked most of the dishes, my faves were the steamed crab with dipping sauce and mantis prawn stir fried with garlic - simple, simple, simple.
The quality and freshness of the seafood were top notch and Michelin-worthy indeed. Would I go again? Not sure as I like my seafood cooked as simply as possible- but KKK is definitely worth visiting once at least.
But note, they do not take bookings, so try to avoid the dining rush hours.
