I won't support this place anymore. I've been to Kind Regards a couple of times and my friends and I have never had an issue getting in, but I see the way they treat people and it's unacceptable. I understand it's NYC and you're going to wait on line; everybody knows that. But to wait on line and get to the front just to be told you need to pay $1,000 for a table based on your appearance is just atrocious. It's painfully obvious the security guards are looking you up and down and evaluating your looks and outfit, which is so demeaning. They literally have two story highlights on their Insta page dedicated to telling people how to get in. Come on now.
I do like the decor and ambiance. Every time I walk in there, I remark that I love how it smells. I believe they have citrusy air fresheners going, really nice. I love the disco balls, plants and pink seats in the basement. The drinks are an expected price for Manhattan, so no complaints there. Drinks are a tad watered down and filled with ice for what you pay, though. I'm sure if you went there for a cocktail hour during the day, it would be a nice time.
The nightlife aspect just ain't it for this place. The music isn't even good in the basement for what you have to go through to get in there. I wish they would play more fun oldies and disco. The crowd isn't great either. Looks like a big frat party half the time and everybody seems snobby. And I think they let in way more people than the place can safely hold. In the entire establishment there are three bathrooms total -- one on the top lounge floor and two in the impossible-to-get-into basement. They have candles all throughout the joint, which would be cool if it weren't full of intoxicated people. An accident waiting to happen. Save your time, energy and money.
